The Paddock Inn in Pembrokeshire

I’d like to make a complaint regarding the overall management of this establishment. When I first arrived, I was impressed by the warm decor and friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the rest of the staff were lovely, making the start of my visit very enjoyable. However, my experience was marred by a staff member who appeared to be in a managerial role and seemed to be the one “wearing the pants” around the place. She spoke disrespectfully to her colleagues, disrupting the positive environment. Additionally, she had a noticeable smell of smoke, which detracted from the overall ambiance. Upon reading some of the manager’s responses to other feedback, it’s clear that she is very defensive when it comes to criticism. You don’t just speak to people in such a degrading manner and move on with your day. Some of her responses contained hurtful remarks, and I hope she has taken the time to apologize for them. Despite the great food and wonderful staff, this experience left me disappointed with the management standards of the establishment.

What a lovely cosy friendly pub. Dropped in there on our last night in Tenby .Had a really enjoyable evening with my family. Drinks excellent also the price was so good .Food looked fantastic as we saw coming out to folk.We had already eaten earlier that day or would of definitely eaten here .Few people in the group had cheesy chips which were big portions an bargain price .Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Tenby .Thanks for an enjoyable end to our holiday. 😊

We had a fabulous experience, food was absolutely perfect we had 4 beef dinners beef melted in your mouth beautiful Chicken was perfect also 3 puddings apple pie was great Chocolate fudge cake Devine The staff were very accommodating Thank you We would definitely go back

What a lovely welcoming pub. Dropped in for few drinks whilst in the area. Traditional style , with plenty of outside seating . Great atmosphere inside as well . I think we will be stopping off there again very soon . Well done all staff 👍

Warm welcome, friendly, local atmosphere. Decent choice of beer and wine. Dogs welcome. Weather permitting, great beer garden. Didn't order food but seemed popular.

We first stumbled upon this restaurant whilst staying in Saundersfoot and going for a drive in the afternoon. It’s only a short drive from Saundersfoot. We took my elderly parents for a meal and they thoroughly enjoyed it as did we. So much so we went back the following evening! All meals were served quickly, and were delicious, the lasagna was to die for especially. The guys who owned/managed the pub were very friendly. Would definitely go back.

Quirky pub but not clean. The table was so sticky not sure when it was last cleaned. Surely should be cleaned after every customer. Some of the chips were over cooked.

Went to The Paddock for a meal and drink my wife and I on the 12 th June ordered a chicken curry and the wife had gammon waited for almost an hour for it to arrive and I’m afraid it wasn’t worth the wait my curry came in a small metal bowl with 5 square chunks chicken in a bland curry sauce and chips of the frozen variety but they were ok ,wife wasn’t impressed with her meal and thought the chef should be ashamed of themselves for serving it.We don’t like to give a bad review as pubs are having a bad time and are closing but the owner of the paddock needs to get a grip and sort the service and food before it’s too late.Ive given an honest review in the hope things improve here.

Always enjoy visiting Paddock Inn during my stays in Kingfisher Cottage, a holiday home in Penally. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a dog friendly pub, which is great, the decor is nice, as it gives it more of an cosy atmosphere, with several sofas and an open fire in the winter. The pub has a lovely selection of beers, lager, etc and on its food menu there is enough choice for even the picky eaters to choose from. The Chicken Doro Wota is lovely. There is also a bakery attached to the pub, they do great breakfasts, fresh bread, cakes and a very tasty ham and cheese toasted sandwich. There is also a fresh milk machine outside the bakery so you can refill your milk bottle. It's a lovely place to sit outside and have a drink with sun beaming down "well when we get the sun". 😂, otherwise sit indoors and feel relaxed, chilled and cosy

We visited on a busy wednesday evening during the holiday season, although the wait on food was long we still had a brilliant time! Our server, Pauline, was rushed off her feet while serving the bar, running food and clearing tables all by herself. However, she remained professional with a smile on her face the entire time, even when the table next to us became slightly hostile towards her. She informed the table that there was only one chef cooking the food that evening that is why it was taking some time! Once our food came, it was delicious and we were surprised after hearing there was only one chef, that all 3 gammons and 2 chicken bacon burger were cooked the perfection. Both Pauline and the chef (apologies we never caught your name) should be proud of yourselves and we will definitely be recommending this place to any of our family and friends visiting tenby.

This spot is an absolute gem for those with a campervan who can't get into the usual sites in Tenby. They allow campers to use the carpark for one or two nights free of charge as long as you eat and drink in the pub. They have a fabulous bakery on site, where we had breakfast and went to the pub in the evening for dinner. The food was very good and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and locals. It's a 20 minute walk into Tenby from the pub. We will definitely be back. Ring ahead to ask for availability.

So good we went twice for food and once for drinks Lovely food, friendly bar staff - they even re opened the kitchen for us after we arrived slightly after they’d stopped serving on a sunday lunch session. Gluten free food available Would definitely recommend

Visited on a busy, very busy Saturday evening. First impressions an average working pub, no frills. Although a little earlier than booked, we expected we would have a drink while waiting but they did quickly find us a table. We both ordered steaks. There was quite a long wait for the meals to arrive but as stated, it was exceptionally busy while we were there. The meals were both ok with the steaks cooked as requested & we were not disappointed. The crowning touch was during the meal there was entertainment by a local group that had set up in the far corner. Overall, an average pub with decent meals & the added bonus of entertainment some nights.

Had the salmon from the specials board...delicious! Quite a wait for food as very busy, but the food didn't suffer because of it. Compliments to the chef.

Went to the paddock inn with our family for our 1st anniversary to be seated on a table where a nail was sticking out of my chair ripping my new jeans leaving a hole and cut to my skin , went to inform the man and young lady behind the bar who didn’t care two hoots what had happened , wernt concerned at all infact they didn’t acknowledge what had happened , the woman then moved my chair over the corner and give me another one . 5 mins later had to stop a lady with a newborn baby’s using the same nailed chair incase what happend to her did me . No apology what so ever I will never return to this place again 😡

Located 15 min walk from Penally court camp site this is an honest pub with good grub. Bar staff were friendly and welcoming and service was good. Excellent staropramen lager, We had fish and chips and home cooked lasagna; both were tasty with the fish having a nice light crispy batter, Was let down by the sticky toffee pudding which didn’t taste home made, however the accompanying ice cream made up for it.,

Lovely fish and chips, great cider, very reasonably priced. Dog friendly equalled lots of dogs but good fun. Would thoroughly recommend.

We came out to Pennaly to try a night out in our, new to us camper van, recommended to us by the guy who sold it to us. On arrival we met Lauren, the Landlady who also runs the on site bakery. We asked if we could eat and stay overnight in the car park, she was so friendly and accommodating and welcomed our dog, Macy, like she was her own. The food was great, and plentiful, and the staff on duty were cheerful and very friendly. Hopefully we will have a good night's sleep in the quiet carpark, before having fresh pastries for breakfast. Throughly recommended.

Found this place by mistake really. We were looking for another pub that had been recommended to us but came upon this one and we were so glad we did. What a lovely welcome we had, the barman was so friendly and had a few jokes with us. A great choice on the menu but they recommended the curries as it was curry and a pint night so that’s whew had. Wow what a curry so tasty and a great portion. Great value for money. Lots of friendly banter and made so very welcome. Considering it’s a small village very busy which says a lot about the place. They have a bakery on site and the cakes they had were an alternative to having a pudding. Can’t wait to go again.thanks for a great time and a big welcome and a good laugh

Good hot food and a nice pint. Upstairs would benefit from a lick of paint and a new carpet but if you want a nice meal then look no further. The homemade curry is extremely tasty and thoroughly recommended. I will be back.

Visited with a large group for an evening meal. Sat outside under a marquee area and had the whole area to ourselves which was wonderful as the children could spread out. They were very busy on the night we visited but it was worth the wait for food. It was fresh, piping hot and delicious. Lovely staff and great service. Visited the Paddock Inn on a Monday to support the Governments Eat out to Help out scheme. We were lucky to get a booking as this scheme is very popular. Arrived around 18.30 and we were going to sit outside but it was to hot so decided to sit inside.Went upstairs to get a table and was shocked by what i came across. Quite a few tables had dirty glasses, cups and food that had been spilt from plates also bits of food around the floor. We found a table which looked cleanish but on sitting down the beer mats were stuck to the table and when you touched the table your hand stuck to it, it was plain to see that a number of table had not been cleaned down for some time. We then decided to eat outside because it looked cleaner and persevere with the heat. I was going to complain to the owners but was informed that they were not on the premises. With the situation we are now in i did not expect to come across a situation like this were cleanliness should be at the top of your to do list. We will vist again before we go back home at the end of this month because the food was nice. This is a beautiful looking village Pub but on this occasion was let down by the lack of attention to detail which is so important.

We visited the Paddock Inn on a hot day during the pandemic and were really looking forward to our visit here based on the menu and reviews but left disappointed. I ordered the 8oz rump steak and my wife ordered the chicken burger. I asked for my steak to be medium rare but it was passed well done and not very nice. My wife was served two dry chicken burgers in a dry bun, no dressing or salad or anything to make it enjoyable. I could have raised this to the staff at the time but we could see that they were overwhelmed and stressed with the amount of people to serve.With that being said I think we were unlucky on a hot, busy day with an understaffed bar, but we wouldn’t bother going again.

i was looking for somewhere to have a nice meal with nice people i would not bother visiting your attitude comes across as rude and arrogant yes people do complain but there is always a professional way of dealing with them you certainly lack that good luck with your business i would suggest people read as many reviews as poss to understand my comments

We have visited the restaurant on Sunday. Choosing Sunday roast chicken option.we have been waiting 40 min for the food which arrived tasting like microwave. Chicken breast no skin on definietly not part of oven cooked chicken. No spices no salt added,no flavour. Half roasted potato per plate plus there smal tiny.skin on cooked potatoes.overcoojed vegetables and no Yorkshire pudding added. Would never go there again or recommended. The food should cost£3 not 20 per plate.left hungry

Nice home cooked food. We were there for New Years Eve and it was full, the staff were fantastic and worked so hard. Visited a few other days too and was always good.

We have visited this pub a few times now for various reasons and each time have been blown away. We popped in for a drink while out walking the dogs and were greeted by friendly staff and surroundings. We returned to a few days later to try out their fresh bakery and it was amazing! Very comfy and dog friendly. Food is better than i would expect gor pub grub. We ate here a few times whilst on holiday. Excellent coffee and cleanliness seems very important. Personally I'm not sure why people feel the need to complain, i saw none of it.

I have visited The Paddock on a number of occasions now and must say every one of them I have enjoyed. I have always had a meal and they were all lovely, I have had some beautiful food from the bakery too and again no complaints. The staff are friendly and I am looking forward to going there again soon. Well done all of you.

I booked the Paddock Inn on a Sunday evening for 37 walkers. The food and staff were excellent and I could recommend anyone to eat there.

My partner and I were spending a week in the area and the Paddock came highly recommended by the owner of our holiday property. However, I have to say that we were disappointed by our experience. The evening did not get off to a great start when the young lady, working the bar on her own, ignored us on arrival and carried on cleaning tables, leaving us waiting with no apology. She then acknowledged our booking and we were seated at a table under the stairs where I risked banging my head if I stood up carelessly. I ordered the cottage pie which oddly came with a large portion of mash which went largely uneaten. The meal was acceptable and my partner said that her scampi and chips was very good. No one came to check if everything was okay. For my drink I had a pint of Hancocks HB which remained flat all the way down, looked dreadful but tasted fine. The main problem was the thundering hooves of children running around right above us throughout the meal. No one had thought to tell me about the private party upstairs which was just getting underway. Surely this should have been done when I called to make the booking. Heaven knows what later diners made of it as the sound equipment was only just being carried in as we were leaving. This was not an experience I would wish to repeat.

Came for Sunday Lunch and had a fantastic meal. The starters were lovely and only £3 such great value for money. Had Roast Beef which was beautiful with plenty of fresh vegetables and the puddings were amazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend and will be back soon!!

The paddock inn is truly amazing!! The food was gorgeous in both the pub and on site bakery.The management and staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Very cosy and spotlessly clean caravan , Can’t wait to return . Give it a try you won’t be disappointed

Always looking for a new restaurant to eat in and whilst we've eaten here before it's been quite a few years. You have to order and pay at bar. That's fine. We ordered 2 rib eye steaks our mainstay when eating out. Garlic bread and side salad all good so far. I asked for 1 steak medium the other medium but no blood on plate and that's where problem started it couldn't be done so I had med_ well but when they came hubbies medium was OK but mine was way bigger as in circumference but wafer thin no way was mine a rib eye and his was doubtful I tried to eat it but tough so they did me another completely fresh salad and jacket potato but steak was picked on and remainder taken home for dog. Wine was OK atmosphere wasn't really present bar staff OK but we definitely won't be going back

Came here as the kitchen in kiln park stopped serving as the chef had a heart attack and the staff recommended here, they accept haven privilege cards. The burger I had was lovely I cannot moan, the chips are standard chilled chips which they are fried to crisp and finish cooking, the scampi my partner had was soggy and not nice. Standard pub grub nothing to write home about

Ona day out in Tenby we came across the Paddock Inn on the way home and stopped for food & drinks. Very nice staff, Sunday Roast was very tasty and generous portions, kids enjoyed what they chose. It was a good find.

Stopped in for a late breakfast while on holiday nearby. Well worth a visit, food was cooked to order, fresh and hot, plenty of toast and good service, nothing was too much trouble. Good value for money

As a family of 7 we visited the paddock on the weekend. My dad had gone in and asked the bar if they were still serving food to which we were told yes. It was 19:40 and he was told they stop serving at 20:00, so we’d need to get our orders in quickly. We all walked in to the restaurant, quickly checked menus and were at the bar ready to order In less than 5 minutes. There was a guy in front of us, and the barman took his food order no problem. It was our turn next, (it was 19:50). a girl was serving our drinks and asked the barman to take our food order. To which he replied we’re not taking anymore orders. So we questioned why, as it was still before 20:00 and he’d already told us minutes before that he was. His reply was rudely “because we’re not”. No explanation, but we seemed to think it was because we were a larger table and they just couldn’t be bothered. Even the girl at the bar looked shocked by the way the barman spoke! Either way, we certainly won’t be attempting to visit again! Very poor service.

We came one evening for dinner with the family. The atmosphere was nice - it feels like an authentic pub. It also has a bakery attached.

A large group of us Ramblers had booked a meal at the Paddock Inn on a Sunday evening, booked in advance the food was excellent as were all the staff. On behalf of our walking club I would have no hesitation in recommending the Paddock Inn.

Ordered 2 meals... Chicken Korma and ' Homemade ' Spaghetti Bolognese .The chicken in the Korma was tasteless and ' rubbery ' in texture and the rice not seasoned. The homemade bolognese sauce consisted of chopped tomatoes with NO italian seasoning whatsoever...an insult to Italians !!!
