Great place to shop. Has a great butchers. The restaurant has a good choice of meals from hot food down to a lovely afternoon tea.

Amazing customer service and food, great location

Visited our Son and Daughter in-law who visit The Paddock regularly, took us there today for lunch ( 26th August ) a very rude lady came to take our order, we later discovered she was the Restaurant Manager, I'm sorry but this young lady needed an attitude transplant, or she is clearly a not in the right job, such a shame as the food was wonderful, spoilt the experience a little for us .

Called for lunch and ate outside paying before the food was received. Ordered lamb Sheesh which was disgusting and made up mainly of bread crumb and little or no lamb served with a small salad and flatbread priced at 16.75. Upon complaining I was told I could have a sandwich as a replacement an offer I refused and left. Unhelpful staff more concerned about their profit margins than customers. It made me take a look at the whole menu which if any one reviews will see cheap food products despite the fact the butchers sells some excellent meat not on the paddock restaurant menu. Why well just pure financial greed. Stay clear of the expensive poor food quality cafe who seem to rely mainly on female pensioners as customers.

Nice place to do a little shopping, then for a full English breakfast.

Loved it here. Will be coming again. Food superb (and it takes a lot to please me as I'm a real foodie) and also gave me much needed retail therapy. This place is a gem. I don't know why I haven't discovered it before.

Derby House farm shop heard about Revive and decided they'd like to partner with us so that their community could experience there benefits of Beetroot, Turmeric and Ginger

Seemed a little expensive at first glance but when the food arrived it was worth every penny,it can get a little noisy probably due to the low ceilings ,I had the fish and chips and it was delicious and the staff super friendly

Seemed to be a lovely place but we never actually managed to get to the food. We were told to wait 10min before we can order and then when we tried to, we were informed that we cannot order until a dozen other tables were ready to order! Most bizarre thing ever. But the grounds were lovely for the kids to play in while we waited those 10min.

First visit to the Paddock & it didn't disappoint. The food was outstanding, I had the salmon nicoise salad. The service was impeccable, friendly & professional staff. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be visiting again. Well done to the team.

Very nice place to visit this is my second visit in a week, the afternoon food is better than the breakfast but that is still very good. The staff ar helpful and friendly, the place gets very busy and you are asked if you have booked a table when you arrive so my suggestion is always try to book ahead before your visit. The afternoon we went the pie was amazing it is on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for and the flavour and presentation was awesome. We also had the wrap and soup deal again on the pricey side but this was also fresh and very tasty. The paddock also sits inside Derby House which is great for some retail therapy for those little things you just need, great butchers too and for those extra special bits needed for a dinner date it's a must visit but do take your credit card as prices are high due to the quality on offer

Called in for coffee and cake. Have visited before. I had the raspberry velvet cake. The selection of cakes is excellent, as is the food menu. We have not yet had a meal, however we will be coming back in the future.

Great food, which was tasty and well presented. It’s a busy place which shows how popular it is, especially with “ladies doing lunch” it appeared. Nit cheap with a main course being about £17, but it was a pleasant place to eat. Good GF cakes also.

Had to change booking because of bad weather. No problem.

The staff are polite and friendly. However my experience was diabolical. We were told what the pie of the day was and then when trying to order it was told they don't have any, showing poor communication between staff members. We waited half an hour for very possibly the worst food we have ever had! The burger was absolutely awful and tasted strangely and the mash came with no gravy which we had to ask for twice. Overall a very poor experience indeed!

Decent place to eat, nice location, good service, reasonable food but many items are overpriced. After all , it’s just a cafe charging restaurant prices.

Good well cooked food ! Went with 3 other friends. What I found was it's difficult to hear what our friends were saying as when the dinner room is full it's quite noisy.

Had a lovely Christmas lunch here - succulent turkey, friendly staff and prompt service despite being very busy.

Just had the most delicious Christmas lunch at The Paddock tea room/ restaurant. Oh my goodness, the parsnip soup was so tasty with a huge slice of thick farmhouse bread. Then, one of the nicest turkey roast dinners I've had in a long while for dining out. Mash potato , roast spuds , sprouts, carrots, parsnip , a huge thick slice of turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce on the side. No yorkshire pudding, but I think that's controversial on a Christmas dinner. It didn't take any points off it, though. Absolute compliments to the chef and the waiting staff , they were all so lovely and friendly . Not forgetting the cheese cake so delicious and yummy-tastic. Would definitely recommend you, and we will be back to do afternoon tea, which was a head turner for me today . Thanks, guys, for making my Christmas dinner date with my best friend a lovely one. Excellent friendly service. Thai chicken salad bowl very tasty and my partner really rated the hotpot pie. We were too full for dessert but took delicious cakes home.

Went in for a Christmas outing with friends.we were told they were slightly behind, fair enough. One lady got her soup after an hour. Others their main courses after another fifteen minutes. I had to wait almost 1hr and 45 min to get a sandwich. I could have cooked a full chicken and baked the bread faster than that? By the time it arrived i had to bolt it down as everyone else had finished eating. We were given free desserts and drinks as an apology. Asked for the bill,paid. Went out and on our way home to get a phone call saying we had left without paying the correct amount. Had to drive back to sort it out. They had given us the wrong bill and two staff said we had underpaid. So not only did we get poor service but then they mixed the bills up and made us feel like criminals for walking out! It was all their fault, we'd only gone in for a meal and chat. The food was good but I really wish I hadn't eaten any of it and had this fiasco to deal with. Bad enough to be waiting almost two hours for a sandwich without being phoned up and having to return to sort out another of their mistakes We were apologised to. However, I can't recommend this place

The restaurant was almost full but the service was quick and efficient. Really enjoyed the food but feel the menu was a bit pricey. Lovely gift shop and clothes department plus highly stocked farm shop. Everything looked really good but on the expensive side which is usual for local produce. Well worth a visit though.

Friendly & helpful staff serving the most delicious fayre. There were 7 of us all having lunch & every meal was top class. Very varied menu at reasonable prices.

Great food, the sandwiches are a decent size and have a selection of fillings

We went on a Monday for lunch and were surprised to see how busy it was. But the lovely staff got us seated. I ordered the 3 cheese sandwich while my wife got the tuna and cucumber, we also got a side portion of sweet potato chips . And needless to say it was lovely and filling too.. All in all the perfect lunch.

Second time I have eaten then full English first time cream jam and scone with tea ( decent T bag )

Four of us had a very pleasant late lunch. Excellent, friendly service and food. Only annoyance was the very noisy coffee making machine(s), that drowned-out our voices.

Always such a lovely experience eating here, had the eggy bread this time, so delicious 😋 I had lunch today, fish and triple cooked chips with tarter sauce and mushy peas, the batter was light and the fish was cooked to perfection, delicious!

We had afternoon tea for 4 people cost £90 it was very overpriced.

Got a COD fillet and some COCKLES in vinegar from the FISH van that's perched up (Fleetwood's) outside..

Friendly staff, fabulous food, very tasty.

It was very busy when we went, you have to wait to be seated which is fine if the girl who seats you explains how you order. We sat outside she gave us menus then walked off. There are no signs saying order at the counter or waitress service so it would have been nice if she could have stretched herself to explain it to us. I ended up finding a waitress and asking her and was told that it was waitress service but I could order at the counter if I wished which I did. We had coffee's and tea the waitress was lovely, then looked at the menu, in my opinion was overpriced. This is a cafe in a shopping centre but was charging restaurant prices £15.95 for a ceaser salad with chicken £11.00 without, so for a few leaves some parmesan a few croutons and some ceaser dressing that is ridiculous. Other main meals were around the £15 mark In saying that it seemed popular so obviously some people don't mind paying. My sister in law got some cheesy garlic bread which was quite reasonable at £3.95 and she received a large portion with a bit of rocket and drizzle. It has no atmosphere just a large room with tables and it's stuffy and hot.

Busy, could've done with an extra waitress

This was my first time here and really glad we booked as it was so busy, in fact it was that busy that there was a queue for the toilets. The ladies who served were really nice and the food was ok. I had the steak ciabbata and thought it would have come with at least a little side salad but didn't, my partner the paddock burger, both ok. Don't think we'll be rushing back but maybe just our choice of meals as obviously a lot of people like it.

First time visit for a late breakfast, food was very nice prepared to order and will be visiting.again.

Really nice place to visit. Lots to see. Lovely butchers and deli section. Cafe/restaurant will top notch food. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. Well worth a visit.

Nice little place sat outside, still wondering why more didn't sit outside when there was not a table inside available! Fodder was ok, would be better with a better range of beers, not everyone wants lager, and especially the swanky trendy European stuff

Attended a lovely baby shower here at the weekend. The food was lovely, we had afternoon tea for a group of 11, although it was quite expensive and we were surprised to find that afternoon tea didn't actually include tea. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and a great setting.

We booked for fathers a day dinner, the food was excellent service was very slow, we had to ask at one point ( we was preparing to leave if we had to wait any longer) how much longer our food would be. would recommend for the food but not the service.

Roughly 8th time we've been and everytime waiting over 30 mins for our drinks. Today was worse, but that's due to the fire alarm. The servers are actually friendly and polite, but service overall is rubbish. People get served before you when you've been waiting for longer. Poached eggs just tasted of vinegar nothing else; would have sent them back but already waiting an hour for food. Only go here because it's a 5 minute walk from the house, probably just go white lion instead going forward.

We called in for breakfast, but had to wait 3 or 4 minutes after being noticed immediately by a server and without any acknowledgment. She was not particularly friendly, and only said, ‘table for two’, took us to our table and handed us the menu without saying anything else! At this time it was not very busy probably a dozen customers. Breakfast was okay, served on a warm plate but looked a small portion on a large plate. To be fair, it was filling and tasted good. There was no salt in the in the bottle, so I had to take one from another table. This small issue should not happen when tables are being cleaned and prepared several times a day! I requested the bill and there was no response for more than 5 minutes so I waited by the payment desk and was dealt with immediately. Overall I was not impressed with the service, it may not always be like this, and being my first visit I would expect better if and when I return.

Exceptional quality of food and service

Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Chicken taco, Sunday roast and gammon chop were all delicious. Great place for family. Highly recommended.

I had the fish finger sandwiches. The goujons were lovely served on a toasted bun and chips. Beautiful. Would definitely recommend. The service was excellent. Waitress was efficient and friendly. Everything was just great. Not been here for a while and it was a lovely good Friday treat. My friends also enjoyed the fish and chips.

We went in for lunch with family. Quite bizzy, staff were very good and freindly, tables are cleaned before you sit down, a different type of menu from the normal menu's a good choise of food prices are reasonable, we had a good time will go again, it also sells breads, cakes jams and a lot more kind of a small shop all in one,

Always fantastic food, make sure you book cos it can get very busy, all staff absolutely brilliant, attentive without being over bearing....never disappointed at The Paddock....the cakes are pretty good too, even if we did have to take them home with us as we were full.... beautiful

Quite a wait before ordering, the food was delicious and the waitress asked if we wanted any sauces as I was having the Lamb Shank I asked her for mint sauce. I never got it so slightly annoyed.

Having been here on numerous occasions, we decided to book for Mother’s Day. We paid a deposit and turned up as planned, only to find a set menu in service. We had no warning of this, and due to intolerances, the vast majority of main courses were unsuitable for one of us. Having raised these issues with the operations manager, she was very unsympathetic and made no effort to assist. Something as simple as speaking with the chef to figure a workaround is the least I expected; however, she simply advised that there was nothing she could do. From there, we had a 45 minute wait for food, parts of the order had been processed incorrectly and some foods simply weren’t as advertised. Upon raising such issues we were met with a similar response, besides one acknowledgement of the an incorrect order having been placed. Sadly, the lasting memory of our visit was the very unsympathetic and unapologetic nature of the manager, who did credit the drinks on our bill, yet did this via another member of staff with no formal acknowledgement or apology. On the whole, we were made to feel like a great inconvenience at should have otherwise been a lovely meal our with family. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

Really disappointed today I opted for the Caesar salad with chicken and what I got was just a plate of lettuce with dressing and some grilled chicken. I have never had a bad meal here but would try somewhere different in the future, overpriced for what you get, and very bland.

Just had a lunch and was disappointed. Ordered the steak pie and I must say I have more meat in a cheese and union pie. I have to say I will eat here again but I won't be ordering the steak pie. Eaten here again :15/02/23 came back after hearing good reviews I have say even more disappointed the service was poor and my order was terrible I had the chicken kebab absolutely over cooked and the vegetables with it were well disgusting. Out with a group of friend so didn’t make a fuse it will be a long time before they see me back there. (Need to get your act together think about quality not how many people you can get in one room)

What an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. Lovely, light and airy decor. Very busy but not too noisy or overcrowded. Lovely varied menu but, my only reservation, definitely pricey. The food was beautifully presented, generous and delicious. We'll definitely be back 😁.

Staff were friendly but come on nearly £8 for a little bit of scrambled egg on toast. I know prices have increased, but that's just ridiculous. Doubt, we'll return again. The White Lion just up the road is better Valve and a really nice place to.

Poorly cooked and over priced food Ordered the traditional fish and chips which was extremely disappointing. Seven chips which were pale, anaemic and undercooked. The fish was limp having been cooked at too low a temperature. The batter was not completely cooked, slimy on the inside and had the consistency of a buttered J cloth. The peas, such as they were, resembled something I would chastise my dog for leaving on the carpet. £15!!! Never again

We are regular ls to the Paddock, the food is always really good and the staff really friendly. They have changed the menu, which is a positive change and they have added the Christmas, 3 course option again looks good value. The bonus of going to the restaurant is that you can look around the farm shop, which always has a good selection of food and fresh produce. Overall we would recommend the Paddock for a lunch or even just to have a look around.
