Stayed here to meet up with our friends so parked our motorhome in there car park. Great pub really friendly. We shall return

If I could give more than 5 stars for service, I would! As soon as I entered this pub, I felt incredibly well looked after. Lovely, quiet room at the back of the pub. Delicious evening meal, very satisfying. I could not be more happy with my stay here. I would particularly like to thank Lydia Rose, who was amazing. I am very grateful and feel refreshed and ready to finish my walk to Liverpool.

A great pub, doing great things for the local community. Plenty going on mid week from open mic nights to poker nights. A real gem of a local pub. How pubs used to be and should be!

Food hot & tasty. Cranberry sauce missing but easily rectified. More gravy brought to the table when asked for.

I ordered a jacket potato with chilli and there was literally one tablespoon of chilli on it, I counted 4 kidney beans and zero meat. Awful value for money. Won't return.

Went today for the first time even though were fairly local. I must say it's a little hidden gem. Food, Beer and staff all lovely. Will be returning soon

We love to come after volunteering at Bella and Brave animal sanctuary which is on site. We're always ready for a filling , tasty meal.

Staff very friendly. Food was piping hot when it came. No complaints about the food, everyone enjoyed what they had. This was my second visit and would definitely visit again.

We went Red Lion twice over the last couple of weeks, the first I was with a party of 3 and a large dog. They were very accommodating and moved a couple of tables and seated us all comfortably, I had the veg. chill which was lovely. The second time on mother's day, with a big dog, we had pre-booked, they were very accommodating again on one of their busiest days. We had the Sunday roast... I couldn't recommend this pub enough but the Sunday roast was not quite as good as the usual Marstons roast dinner. But we will be back at the Red Lion.

Went here for lunch yesterday as its been a while and it's a nice drive. So very nice welcome from the lady behind the bar. We got drinks and found table in the restaurant . There is a fair selection of food on the menu and we ordered a rump steak with chips and peas and peppercorn sauce for me,and my wife ordered the gammon chips and peas with pineapple and fried egg. The food arrived quite quickly and in general was very nice,my steak was delicious and very nicely cooked medium.and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. My wife's Gammon was also very nice and the chips and egg etc. very well cooked and tasty! The only slight downer was the garden peas which were edible but a bit like bullets,maybe needed a bit longer in the micro or petit pois type which are always nice. I had a Guinness alcohol free and wife had 2 medium glasses of pinot grigio which was really nice. The pub itself is very cosy with nooks and crannies to sit in and the restaurant has comfortable seating and tables. Slight criticism would be there were a few bits of rubbish and dropped food under some of the seats and tables so needed a good hoovering. Overall though a very nice experience with nice food and ambience and very reasonably priced,so we will definitely return .

We had a very pleasant visit, we were there for a concert in Parbold and decided to stay overnight we live in Chester which isn't such a long drive, anyway the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was clean and had everything we needed, heat, hot water and a comfy bed, we had some lunch in the pub which was also very nice with a very nice bottle of cava, before getting changed and walking into Parbold for dinner and the concert, we walked via the field path and the canal which only took us 15 mins not so sure we would have taken this route if it hadn't been such a nice evening, we walked back via the road and again it only took 15 mins, we booked breakfast which was really nice and again the staff were very welcoming, lovely wee village and a very nice traditional old pub, we will be back 10/10.

Staff were friendly and courteous. Food arrived quickly and all meals together. The food was cooked perfectly can't ask for anything more.

Good atmosphere in the pub and very polite and pleasant young lady behind the bar however what let the place down was the food. We ordered the sirloin Steak and cowboy burger. The steak we asked for medium and it come well done, tough and full of fat. Only a few bites were had. As for the cowboy burger again the burger patties where like a crisp. No much taste to the meals at all so probably wouldn't return for food here.

Very welcoming staff, accommodation is modern, clean, comfortable and has all the basics for a 2-4 night stay. The pub has excellent food choices and importantly is served piping hot (there's a bit of a wait at busier times). Breakfast choices are good too, however the pricing structure isn't clear eg. Tea, coffee, etc. are separately charged and not included in the full breakfasts. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere and stay. Would definitely be my first chioce of stay if/when visiting the area again.

We stayed here for two nights to attend a family event. The family room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts and dinner were delicious and very reasonably priced. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making our stay the best it could be. We look forward to coming back again in the future!

Just called in for a drink, it was quite busy but the barman noted my presence. Served me with a well pulled beer. When it was quiet he engaged in conversation and made me feel very welcome. His name was Dan.

We Came to The Red Lion for a Romantic Dinner with My Wife and My Sister and Her Husband it was Booked For 7pm on the valentine’s Friday Night 14th February The plan was to have a romantic date and talk while we eat and drank and be merry! But the Night was Ruined by and old White witch of a Woman strangling The Cat so called singing the Karaoke Machine, when I went to the bar to get some drinks I was asked is there anything else I can do for you by the bar maid, I Replied a volume control for the karaoke machine!! I was told she is going to get louder in 10 minutes 😡 Shortly after the singer started most people at tables and bar started to leave the pub . Great Night but why have karaoke on valentines night when you want to dine and talk

Great village pub. Always busy in the evenings with lots of organised events. Rooms are great value. Always fresh and clean. This was the fourth time we have stayed.

It was very quiet on a Friday lunchtime when we arrived. It got busier but it wasn’t a loud pub

We received a really warm welcome when we checked in. We were so impressed. The family room, number 4,was lovely and big and warm and smelt so fresh and clean when we walked in. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and all the staff were lovely. This was followed by a super comfy bed and great pillows (I am going to buy some!), the night's sleep would have been perfect except for the humming noise of either a boiler or the hot water pipes in the room that went on all night. Eventually I got used to it. But a wonderful stay all round, will definitely be back, thank you xxx

Came hear for a birthday meal. Lovely helpful friendly staff and very efficient service. Enjoyed a 3 course meal with a coffee to finish. The other 2 guests I was with only wanted a 2 course. Price wise I found it was great value and tasty food for what the final bill was. Thank you Katrina for a lovely afternoon Birthday lunch experience. Would defently recommend.

We have a many of good night, afternoons in the red lion great atmosphere, good drinks and excellent service from great bar staff Not blowing smoke at all great pub to have a drink after work or after a dog walk on the weekend. They Really try hard to put on great events from singers to football. Keep up the hard work its working well done all

We stayed at this hotel and paid for late checkout. We were rudly interupted even before standard check out time and turfed out early, becuase apparently the time was wrong on their website. We were issued a refund, only for the money to be retaken out of my account that evening. Still no refund after almost 2 months of back and forth emails to resolve. Now my emails are being ignored. If you want unauthorised payments to be taken out of your account. Stay here.

My first visit to the Red Lion in about  20 years, although I do pass it from time to time. I liked the Trip Advisor excellent reviews,  so why not try it. A quiet Monday Lunchtime, it has not really changed in 20 years and we were met by a lovely lady host called Jen who was very friendly and helpful. It is a Marston's Chain Pub, it is not Fine Dining, but it does what it says on the tin. The portions were an acceptable size, nicely cooked  and presented to us in a timely manner. We really enjoyed our visit and of course we will go back again.

Went on Saturday evening with my partner first time going and will not be going again the starters we ordered was more like a kids starter my partner ordered a steak medium rare came well done mushrooms was cold I ordered a pie and chips the chips came hard like they not been cooked properly and it was a bit expensive for the quality of the food

Another great meal at an old favourite local. The Red Lion Newburgh is a traditional, cosy pub at the heart of the village. Thank you to the ever helpful team there for looking after us all so well.

Spent a few hours here for their brass band afternoon at Christmas with our little girls and dog, and Katrina really looked after us. We're coming here, 11 of us, on Christmas day and can't wait. Fantastic place - great food really friendly, great atmosphere and brilliant service. 🎉💃🏽☃️🎅🏻

We came for breakfast with Santa this morning, all the staff were very friendly. Santa was brilliant, very interactive with the kids. My little girl is coeliac and they catered for her dietary needs. We will be back next year. Thank you

Arriving rather early but welcomed and only had a few minutes to wait for a table.Nicole was on hand to show us to the table and could not be more helpful.As it was Sunday we decided on a Roast Beef Dinner. Absoloutely delicious.As a bonus we had a complimentary mince pie to follow. A 5 star experience.

Had a lovely afternoon in the Red lion recently with a couple of friends, great service, excellent drinks, superb pub grub. We felt really at home and where well looked after by Nicole, who not only took and served our orders but ran the bar as well, did not get the name of the chap who was in the kitchen, but top marks to him as well. Will certainly recommend to friends and family and will be back soon.
