The Packet has a safe and Beautiful feel to it when you are there, the Atmosphere is second to none because you are made Welcome everytime you arrive as if it the First time your there. The Staff are full of knowledge and friendly professional people. A feel safe pub homely and a fantastic place to visit.

Last of the Docks Originals. Fabulous pub, great atmosphere and a warm welcome from Tracey The Landlady. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

We just want to say a huge thank you for Tracey & her family providing a wonderful place to go on Christmas Day, the atmosphere was fabulous, the beer good and I think my husband ate his body weight with the complimentary bar food, it was the first time visiting the pub and will definitely be regulars in the future, By far the best pub I have been too in Cardiff!

Great welcoming and friendly pub in the heart of Cardiff Bay. We come here often on a Saturday night and get a warm welcome from fellow locals and the bar staff. The bar staff can’t do enough for you. They always greet each customer and you often see them walking around keeping on top of collecting empties and making sure everyone is ok. The music in the background is great, always an 80s playlist and not too loud either. A couple of times we’ve been sat with the TV off and they have come over and asked what we’d like on it or if the TV is on and we’re watching they check if we want the volume on. Little things but it does make you feel welcomed and valued. Highly recommend a visit if you’re seeing a show in WMC or just strolling around the Bay.

Have been drinking here for 14 years. Went downhill until Tracey and her team came in and now ut is back to being a fantastic pub again. Great friendly service and always a great vibe

Never used to come to the Packet but since the new management has taken over, it has become a bit of a local for us! Tracey and her team cannot do enough for us when visiting. The atmosphere was insane on our last visit - the live singer was phenomenal. Great deals on bottle beers and shots! Worth it for an authentic drink in the bay with character and charm!

A traditional bar just behind the busy Pierhead. It seems to have been here long before the chain outlets a moment away. Great staff and beers in a cozy wood lined space. Very relaxing, full of locals chatting, but still welcoming to newcomers. Not expensive and worth lingering in.

Attended here today and had a wonderful night. Tracy is a wonderful landlady and doing a tremendous job. Keep up the good work.

Legendary pub featured in the play "turning the wheel" over 100 years old, and the oldest pub in Cardiff, still has the original bar and stained glass windows - one of the best pubs in Wales

Tracey, the lovely new proprietor in the very short time she has been there has managed to turn this place around to be a very pleasant welcoming, proper pub! Straight away I was warmly greeted and felt a lovely sense of nostalgia and warmth which you don’t get from most pubs these days. Locals were cool, beer was tasty. Sports on the screens and it’s over the bay. Got a lovely outside/smoking area out back also which catches the sun perfectly! If you’re over the bay pop in for a pint!

Oh my goodness! I love the Packet! I sang there last night as their Friday night entertainment and the staff and customers were amazing!! Very clean, easy to get to, wonderful atmosphere. The owner is just lovely and took very good care of me. If you want a good night out you can’t go wrong with the Packet in Cardiff Bay :)

An old-fashioned warm comfortable pub to enjoy a traditional pint. My wife and I like coming to this pub. One of the few traditional pubs to enjoy a pint in. I can't score the food because I didn't eat here.

Lovely traditional style pub playing a great play list. We visited during a downpour afternoon midweek, so it was quiet but great vibe. Has screens up subtly places for those interested in the sports but doesn't have a sports bar vibe. Really liked it and great prices too.

Brilliant pub by mermaid quay. Popped in for what was meant to be an hour after a Chinese but ended up staying til the end. The people were friendly and felt like a regular and the staff were great as it's the first time I've ever been here. It's a good proper pub in the heart of the bay if you want to get away from the snobbery and expensive prices of the other bars. Well recommended 👍

A (mostly) ungentrified pub with a good choice of beverage and lots of big screens, which made it a comfortable place to watch sport and enjoy our evening. The ladies behind the bar do a great job. Recommended.

Our initial stop was to get of the rain. To our surprise the heating was on and we were able to dry out. A good range of beer, larger and cider was available together with friendly welcoming staff encouraging us to stay for the afternoon. We didn't have food.

Stopped for a drink and what a lovely olddy worldy pub. Great service and plenty of TV screens to watch sport.

We walked in and there was a 'Wake'. We hesitated ready to leave as we didnt feel right intruding but, we were made to feel so welcome and to stay, even offered food. You just dont get many places like that so thankyou to all who were celebrating someones departure from life who made us so very welcome at The Packet. Bless you all x

Dropped in before Gig in Portland House (Vault) good atmosphere friendly staff & customers. Not posh just normal pub with a mix of characters & a DJ playing old school classic singalong. Inexpensive proper boozer.

Title says it all. Didn't get the name of the guy behind the bar but he was a genuinely lovely bloke. Pub was clean and a nice outdoor space. Can't fault it at all.

Went with friends for a drink on Friday evening.One of my friends is in a wheelchair asked at the bar if there was a side entrance a girl who was working called Amy with out hesitation opened the door and was very friendly chatting with us and explaining were everything was in the public house. Great service and a friendly atmosphere would definitely recommend and return.

Busy loud pub serving a variety of drinks at decent prices. I do like a Rosé blush in the summer. Only one Rosé available and it was ok. £6.20 for a large glass was most acceptable. There is an outside space but it needs a bit more love and attention. Some sofas and cushions instead of austere hard plastic chairs. This would make it a more welcoming space. Inside there is plenty of seating but again some more snugs would be nice. I was promptly served by a very polite member of staff. If passing and I fancied a quick refreshment I’d pop back in for a swift one. Perhaps would not go to sit and chat. Bit noisy and lacking comfy spaces to chill and contemplate but it is a traditional pub serving decent drinks at a fair price.

Great pub! We were visiting Cardiff for a show at the Millennium Center, and over our two day trip popped in a couple of times. Great atmosphere, a lovely pint of Barry Island IPA, and a terrific landlord, friendly and welcoming! If we are in the area in the future we will be back! Thank you!

Excellent old skool traditional pub. The landlord knows how to make a friendly atmosphere in an area full of "bars" not pubs.

Wunderbarer Pub so wie wir das mögen. Eher einheimische Gäste, nicht überfüllt, gutes Bier und Sportfernsehen für die die es mögen auf ordentliches Geräten ohne Ton wie es sich gehört. Aber so weit wir mit bekommen haben kein Essen.
