Popped in for a Lunch. The fish and chips were freshly cooked to order, and good value. Staff were friendly.

Good food especially the haggis nice people the cafe has old photos and a history of Ardersier there is also a library and a gift shop plus a Spar supermarket . I didn’t think I would’ve been sitting in my old classroom again.

On passing through the area we decided to give this place a chance for breakfast and it did not dissappoint - well the food anyway! Breakfast was really good with home cooked breakfast with an expansive menu for both breakfast and lunch available. The setting was not ideal as it was set in the middle of what I can only describe as an old antique junk cupboard but the food hit the spot and was everything I was looking for for breakfast. Waitress who was elderly could have possibly smiled a little more. Good value for money. P.s The haggis was the best I have tasted!

We tried to get lunch at two hotels, but they were deserted and closed. Further along the road we saw a sign for The Pace cafe. Found the entrance, away from the road and went in. Very glad we did, not sure what it might offer. But was excellent. A good menu, with home cooked food. The fish was sensational, service great and very friendly, costs very reasonable. Go ou5 of your way to try it, you’ll be well rewarded.

Friends will tell you I like a cooked breakfast. This has to be one of the best in the country for quality and taste. Add in the value and i dont think it can be beaten. My pot of tea was enough for 3 mugs with some left over. Staff were very friendly. Look forward to getting back

Stopped here as I was desperate for a coffee but after seeing another table receive the most glorious breakfast rolls we decided to get some of those too. The rolls were delicious and even introduced me to tattie scones, like a hash brown but better! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend stopping here for a bite to eat if you're in the area.

Home cooked food and very reasonable prices. Large dining area which sometimes can be a bit cold. Great welcome and fast service. Food is what i would call average although the macaroni cheese is very good.

After a brisk walk on Ardersier beach we found this cafe in the Old School Hall. At £4 for two teas and two lovely pieces of cake this is excellent value. I take my tea without milk and most places round here it tastes of chlorine but this tea was delicious so either they use a water filter or the water was left to stand for a while or Ardersier is luckier than the rest of us in that they don't have so much chlorine in their water. They also have old photos and some history of the village around the walls. Relaxed, casual atmosphere with very helpful, friendly staff.

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !
