Booked the basement here for a birthday party, was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend to anyone! Staff super friendly and helpful. Lovely space, good sound system.

A nice little oasis a few yards away from the hustle of Oxford Street with a good assortment of food and drink of quality.

An amazing story about the wonderful Oxford Market: My daughter's phone was stolen yesterday on Oxford Street (not an uncommon occurrence in London these days, alas), but -- as we later figured out -- the thief seemed to have realized it was a rather outdated iPhone and discarded it in an alleyway. My daughter was leaving that night to travel overseas, but reported that the phone had started pinging its location. I scoured the area the next morning but found nothing. On a hunch, I inquired at The Oxford Market to see if anyone had turned in an iPhone. It turned out that a deliveryman had noticed the phone in the alley. The restaurant's manager not only took possession of the phone in case someone came looking for it, but also charged it so that it would be able to send out its location (these pings aren't very specific, but they were enough to lead me, eventually, to the right place). The Oxford Market isn't just a great restaurant, it's run by genuinely thoughtful, helpful people!

Great little club for a private party. Didn't have food, but it looked good. Lovely decor. Good seating and plenty of room to dance.

We hired the private space downstairs for my wife's 40th Birthday. We had around 115 guests who all complemented the venue which looked amazing and was great as both a cocktail reception at the start of the event and transformed into a club night later in the evening. The whole team, and in particular the duty manager on the night, were very attentive and ensured the whole event ran smoothly. We had a plenty of complements on the drinks from the bar, where we had an option to design our own cocktails for the evening as well as the beer section. We used our own DJ - who complemented the sound system and the venue had great lighting throughout the night which really helped with the atmosphere. Overall everyone had an amazing evening and I would highly recommend this venue for a private event!

This is a difficult review to write because, honesty? I don’t want anyone else finding this place. It’s exceptional! My partner and I frequently visit London’s West End and, for years (many, many years) we’ve struggled to find somewhere decent for lunch. Today we enjoyed probably the finest calamari in London, and we DEFINITELY enjoyed THE BEST endive salad on the planet. Good sate chicken, tasty fries, attentive friendly service, bang on modern ‘old bijou’ decor, fantastic bar… we will be regulars here for sure.

Havnt been here a while and met a friend for lunch today ! What a feast we had - my friend had a salmon and myself chilly con carne . Both were so tasteful - I swear I could have licked my plate clean :) the service was friendly and very welcoming .

Arrogant bar staff who serve you as if they are doing you a favour, poor choice of deeply mediocre wine and beer and a dingy space. Avoid - there are much better places to go for a drink.

We hosted our engagement party in the private room downstairs and it was amazing. The service was great and the whole night was a success thanks to the team. The venue itself was a great size and perfect for our party.

I recently celebrated my birthday at the Basement Bar in The Oxford Market. The venue was wonderful, service was exceptional and the atmosphere was exactly what I hoped for. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone considering celebrating an event!

I hosted my 40th birthday bash in the basement bar at The Oxford Market last week and my 75 guests and I had the most fabulous evening. From Craig, the events manager, to the bar manager, bar staff and security team, the whole evening was run with charm, politeness and absolute efficiency. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere fantastic and everything conduced to make for an evening to remember. Thanks to all involved!

We booked the downstairs for our staff summer party of around 40 people and our team had the best time! Craig helped us organise the event and was fantastic in the build up. On the actual day, the team (Max, Sergio, Kat & Thea) were so friendly. Highly recommend using this venue for your private events.

We held our 40th Birthday Party here last weekend. The entire team at The Oxford Market is brilliant - Craig helped us plan it all out (we hired out the entire bar downstairs) and find a DJ (DJ Wilza - who was just amazing!) and on the night, Sergio, the security guards, the bar staff and the waiters were all fantastic. The food, drinks, atmosphere and location were all outstanding too! Thank you all for such a fab evening (all of our guests - approx 100-120 people - had the best night out too!). We highly recommend this bar and will definitely return soon!

Nice place, best fish & chips i ever had!

We planned an event in the private space downstairs which was really successful. The space is really suitable for an event for 50-100 people. From booking to planning to the event itself, Craig, Sergio, Katarina and our amazing Security guard made the process effortless. The food was incredible, their management of the bar tab and catering was so professional. I would go back in a heartbeat. Well done Oxford Market!

Looking for somewhere to eat with an old friend today & stumbled on your lovely restaurant. We both had the best Fish & Chips ever .And of course wine I had the Merlot which was excellent I will definitely tell my friends & family to go & have a meal at your wonderful restaurant. Food was super yummy, staff were excellent, and drinks reasonable. Accommodated our large office at short notice and made sure the area had enough tables and seating. We can't thank you all enough and will be back!

I can only comment on downstairs but it's dark and loud, so if you're into that vibe you'll love it. If you like a bit of vitamin D and to hear people talk, you'll hate it. I'm the latter.

I booked the Basement Bar for my 30th birthday last week. From the first inquiry all the way to the event itself, everything was absolutely brilliant. Quick, efficient communication from Craig in the lead-up to the event, and was very well looked after on the day to setup and at the actual event from Max and Sergio. The food and drinks were excellent, and the soundsystem was fantastic. Was so handy having a cloakroom, our own bathroom facilities, and the DJ equipment was top tier and very well looked after. I would highly, highly recommend this venue if you're hosting a party. I would absolutely rush back!

My partner and I hosted our engagement drinks in the private basement bar at The Oxford Market, and cannot praise it highly enough. We had such good feedback from all our guests on the food, drinks and venue space. Sergio and his team, who were looking after us on the night did an incredible job. All of our, and our guests' needs were met with kindness and attentiveness. Especially when it came to food and allergies. The space is perfect for a private party. The location is terrific being a stone throw away from oxford circus station. There is a lot of space in the venue for both standing and seating and the added benefit of having private bathroom facilities and a cloakroom exclusively for you and your guests. The option to customise the names of their tasty cocktails was also a great hit with the guests - and made the event more personal to us. We are looking forward to going back soon! Definitely a new front runner when considering party venues in the future (for us and our guests!). Thank you so much to Craig, Jamie, Sergio, Max, Kat & Emmanuel and the rest of the fantastic team who made our event so perfect!

Came for a few after work drinks and nibbles and absolutely love the vibe of this bar. The staff were so friendly, helpful and bubbly. The food was gorgeous. It was only £8 per sharing plate so pretty normal for London and I would say good value for money considering how tasty they are. I can happily say my colleagues and I will be coming back more regularly!

Had a lovely evening at the Oxford Market at the weekend. The wine list is better than your average pub list, nice nibbles, staff friendly and attentive. There's a decent size outdoor space that would be great in the summer.

Extremely overpriced drinks. Half the bar staff seemed untrained, and others, frankly, were a little too full of themselves. The buffet served was very good, and the waiting staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. Not somewhere I would choose to promote as a venue for a function.

Looking for somewhere reasonable around Oxford Circus we found this gem of a place by accident. What a great find. Sharing plates seem to be their new thing at the moment and we will need to go again and taste the plates we missed on our first visit. Divine is not an overstatement.

I threw a secret birthday party for my husband. The staff there from the manager (Sergio) to bartender (Kat) went over and beyond to be helpful. They helped me setting up the venue, coordinate the arrival, advised on lighting and music levels to keep people dancing. Overall because of them, I think everyone enjoyed the party that much more enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend the venue for private parties. Booking process with Craig was super smooth too. Thank you all!

Nice little place just off the main drag, heating seating out the front which is welcome along with blankets. Good selection of drinks and staff were friendly and attentive.

I would like to thank the Bookings & Events team and all the Bar staff at The Oxford Market for making my wife's birthday party on the 3rd Feb a truly memorable event. Craig, Max, door man and all the bar team met all my requests and requirements. The Staff are very warm and friendly, the Food and drinks perfect for our event 5 star. The venue is clean, elegant ,spacious with a more than adequate sound system. Great atmosphere on our night and on my visits prior to the event. I would recommend The Oxford Market for a casual visit or a truly memorable event/function.

We had a private event at the venue, which we only booked a week in advance. The team were super responsive in accommodating us in the lead up to the event, the space downstairs worked perfectly for our small group of 50 people and the staff / team were very helpful and polite. Would highly recommend and use again.

We've got the worst situation in this PUB. We was 5 guys and ordered 5 pints of beer. After 10 min waitress said something is wrong with a line beer. We waited 10 min more to sort it out. Half of menu was unavailable. Food it's a bit expensive. We've got 5 pinta of Amstel at the end and was without sparkling and taste. At the end we paid £99 for 5 pints of beer, 3 portions of fries ans 2 portions of haloumi. I was very unhappy . From £99, £12 was for Service charge, service charge for what? For waiting 20 min for a pint of beer and no food at that moment? Please in the future, be little bit profesional, check beer lines before customer order, prepare ingredients in the kitchen,try tl be most respectful to customers. To be honest, this PUB was the worst I ever been. Wake up please, is Central of London.

Had my 30th birthday here and hired out the whole basement. Was such a great night, and I had lots of compliments on the venue. Loved having our own space, with bar, toilets and cloakroom and renaming the cocktails for a personalised touch was great too. I’ve been to the Oxford Market twice now! Once in the Basement for a 30th party and the second time was in December for a surprise party (The ground floor) Both my experiences have been fantastic! The manager Craig is so lovely, extremely accommodating and helpful! On the run up to the surprise party, Craig kept the communication going and was so supportive! We had a call on the day of the event to make sure all was well on our end too. The surprise was great, all the staff were extremely hospitable and friendly ensuring myself and our guests had a great experience! Both the ground floor and the basement are beautiful, they don’t need much decoration at all, but you can hire some of you want! The canapés were delicious and there was enough food for everyone! Overall we had a great time and I look forward to coming down again! Thank you Oxford Market 😆

We hired the private space downstairs for my 40th Birthday party in December 2023. This place is a hidden gem in London. Access to the room is via a private entrance to the side of the main restaurant access. we had around 80 guests who all complimented the venue and the food. We brought our own DJ who was able to bring his own controller and plug it into the sound system. The bar staff on the night were brilliant and very attentitive. The whole event was managed exquisitely by Craig. Highly recommend this space - book early during peak times!!

Inside was nice although quite small. My problem was with the cocktails; not very nice for the price! They also (bizarrely) had over-head heaters on. I spied one above us that was on 30 degrees!! Ridiculous for inside a busy pub/bar

A really lovely bar downstairs with plenty of space to dance. I visited this bar twice for special occasions and both times I had a great time dancing away and sipping on delicious cocktails. I would highly recommend it as a venue to hire.

I had the pleasure of hosting my 30th birthday on the ground floor at The Oxford Market last Saturday and it was a perfect evening. The event ran seamlessly and the guests were raving about the beautiful venue (with plenty of space for dancing and socialising), the AMAZING food (far exceeded expectations), and the fabulous cocktails (such a cool touch). The team were wonderful to work with - Craig was so helpful with all of the planning in the lead up to the event, always on hand to answer questions and ensure best use of the space. Sergio - the bar manager on the night - was super accommodating and made sure the service was impeccable, everything ran smoothly and that the night was a success. Sham on the door was also really lovely and friendly. All the team together helped to make this a brilliant and unforgettable night. Thanks so much, team!

Celebrated my 30th there last week and hired out the ground floor. Really helpful staff, wonderful atmosphere/decor and great drinks. Craig from the booking & events team was very organised and diligent. Reasonable minimum spend of £1.5K till 1am for the ground floor. Annoyingly only found out after paying the deposit that the closing time for the ground floor is 1am, not 2am, as they exceeded the council limit of how many times they can open till 2am. I decided to proceed anyway. Other than that, would definitely recommend.

We hosted a company wrap party in the downstairs club @ the Oxford Market, with around 35 attendees. The whole process was super smooth from beginning to end - their events manager Craig was super helpful and responsive, while the team on the night were really friendly and attentive. It took all the stress out of hosting an event. The party canapes were really reasonable and everyone agreed these were delicious so that's a big plus!

I hosted a party here during Halloween weekend and it was utterly amazing! The staff were so hands on in making sure everything was running smoothly and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. The venue in itself is beauty and so cosy, but also lot's of space to dance too. Plus the drinks/cocktails were phenomenal and all my guests couldn't stop raving about how good they were. All in all we had a blast and not one single negative to hosting our party at The Oxford Market. Would DEFINITELY recommend!

Hired as a private venue for a Birthday party. Great service from security doorman right up to Manager Craig. Excellent service from all the staff, especially from Max and Thea. Great food and drinks.

I was looking for a venue in central London to stage my 50th in October 2023. My criteria was a truly private space (i.e. no 'roped off' corner sham); a late licence as standard (i.e. no need to apply for an extension and spend more); space to dance; full control of the music; convenient location; sensible price. In London you can pay a small fortune for not a lot in these kinds of situations and, after looking at more than 2 dozen options, thought I would need to compromise. And then I found The Oxford Market and walked downstairs into the function room. I loved it! It looks like a nightclub in miniature and has great lighting, seating and bags of character. This is a true hidden gem in central London. The space is fully private with event guests arriving via a separate door in the alley alongside the building. It is literally 2 minutes walk from Oxford Circus. The hire cost entails what I consider a fair minimum spend - no additional, too often extortionate, hire charge plus minimum spend. Just one minimum spend to reach, with booking secured via a reasonable deposit which has just been refunded to me. I held my event on a Friday and this meant the venue was open until 02:00 - perfect. DJ decks were available to use with a great sound system and plenty of space for dancing. I had about 55 guests and the room could hold more, but for me it was perfect. In the run-up I was looked after really well by the Events Manager Craig and landlord Jamie, who helped with advice and answering questions, including about food. The event menu for small plates and finger food is reasonably priced. Entry was restricted via my guest list with a member of staff on the door. All staff covering the event were fantastic - really polite, positive and helpful especially when I wanted to give my welcome and thank you address. We had a great, great night. I am very glad I came across The Oxford Market and therefore can't recommend this venue highly enough.

I ordered the pork and it was delicious, other members of the party had the fish and chips and the sweet potato chips, everyone was very complimentary. Service was quick and helpful, they even made my wife’s coffee the way she likes it on the first go. Only slight down side was it was quite noisy once it filled up.

Just in for drinks. Lucky enough to get a table. Very attentive staff with lots of offers of getting more drinks. Didn't feel too pressured when we said no but slight feeling that they wanted the table back which was fair really.

I totally recommend this venue. I hired the basement bar last weekend for my birthday party with 90 guests. It was perfect in every way. The bar manager Craig was extremely helpful and the staff did everything they could to make it work for me on the night. It was a great night! Alcoves for talking and dance floor and lighting for dancing. Fantastic time had by all.

Popped in as I used to visit regularly. Charged £8.21 for a guinness as it needed to have a 12.5% surcharge added to compensate the poor bar staff for letting it settle and then brining it 2 meters over to where they'd told me to sit.

We hired out The Oxford Market's basement bar last weekend for a private Graduation Party with around 60 people attending. We had the venue from 5pm-2am and used their decks, with our own DJs - their sound system was great and the lighting was ace. It's a brilliant venue, we all had a blast! The staff were fantastic and the food was lovely. It was a perfect night - will be back! Thanks.

Max was fantastic at coordinating everything, we had a few timing changes on the night and Max was very accommodating and made sure everything ran smoothly! Craig has been brilliant throughout the whole the booking process and we got to make our own signature drinks menu with was a great touch. The food was 10/10 and the venue offered so many extras that I haven't seen anywhere else. Including a private entrance, DJ equipment, smoke machine, private cloakroom and the fully customisable layout. I would recommend the venue to everyone and I'll definitely be returning for some after work drinks!

I hired the basement space of the venue for a surprise party for my fiance's 30th birthday! The venue were so accommodating from the moment I contacted them, they helped me through the booking process and offered features such as a special cocktail menu and flexible guestlist. On the day, they then blew it out the water! I wasn't available on the day to coordinate everything, they helped figure things out with my vendors like decor and photobooth and supported my event coordinator and friends in setting everything up! When my fiance arrived, they helped make sure the surprise went well and accommodated all his needs! Special shout out to Max and the rest of the team! Hired the ground floor here for my 40th and had a brilliant evening. I really recommend the ground floor as it gives easy access to the terrace outside for anyone that wants fresh air or to smoke and they don't feel far away from the party at all. You can bring your DJ or take one of their recommendations and a very reasonable minimum spend. Great night, really recommend it. Cheers.
