He visitado el salón oval en varias ocasiones, siempre termina los días de semana. El personal es genial y muy agradable, las hamburguesas son tan buenos que querrás otra enseguida. El único fallo ha sido, cada vez, la larga espera. Por el momento la hamburguesa venía tanto mi amigo y yo habíamos terminado la bebida y pedimos otro.

Reservé una mesa a través de su página web y nos dieron una confirmación automática de entonces, para mi sorpresa apareció en el día a la hora del almuerzo y estaba todo cerrado de cualquier signo de actividad continua wiwno. Nos nos retiramos a la pub en la manzana siguiente y nos dijeron que este negocio era para la venta! Decepcionado, ya que era la fija para cuando estaba en el cricket al lado en el Oval!

Mi amigo y yo hemos estado yendo a este restaurante por muchos años. La comida es muy buena y ha mejorado en los últimos años, y el personal es amable.

Acogedor bar/restaurante a un tiro de piedra de la estación de oval. Amplio espacio interior, con áreas al aire libre agradable, la parte delantera y trasera. A veces suelen ser bastante tranquilo; una buena reproducción en el fondo!

Fuimos por unas cervezas después de un partido de críquet en la elipse. Lugar muy agradable ya que no está cerca de tan concurrido como los otros pubs más cerca de la estación, pero aún así no más de 5 minutos a pie de metro Oval.

1 star is the least I can give, but if I could it would be zero. The venue itself looks cute and tidy and the drinks seem fine, but the value for money is completely shocking, especially when thinking of the food.Gastro pub prices for cafe/greasy spoon food. These people are still there only because it's one of a handful of places in Oval one can go to if they don't want to eat at a chicken shop.Shame.

Burger served up on a dirty looking piece of wood, chips in a nasty looking piece of tin and you had to a little jar of salt to share. Yuk. The food was ok but the presentation was poor .whats wrong with proper plates?

I'd been to the Oval before for breakfast and had really enjoyed it, but was disappointed this time round.For the price I paid I expected better quality, especially in London, it was no better then a greasy spoon which cost me over £10!Will be going elsewhere in future.

Nice folks, quiet and clean, small enough. A good place to kill a couple of hours. And a few ales. Smokers will be happy too, as there is a small outdoor patio where they can enjoy.

I've been here a few times for coffee as I'm new to the area but decided to try the food on my last visit with some friends. I'm certainly glad I did! The Oval Burger (not the shape, the name) was an excellent and properly hand made affair, cooked medium with just a hit of mustard in the mixture. Complimented by well cooked and seasoned fries, it certainly did the job of filling me up after a day at work. The place has an eclectic music playlist and I was captivated by the big screen which, for reasons unknown, was showing an episode of classic 70's children's telly, Bagpuss! Staff are all very friendly, service is quick, but not pushy and you're definitely made to feel welcome. Now I've moved to the local area, I'll definitely be back for more on a regular basis.

I also ordered a cola which I was pleased to find came in a glass bottle and not a can which I prefer, and also ordered a hot chocolate which really nice, very sweet but I did get cream and marshmallows and was still delivered hot. Also the restaurant checked my additional note requesting some sauces and they provided this free of charge. Haven't left many reviews but am very impressed with this order tonight. Happy customer

Stumbled across this place with friends when our original breakfast plans didn't work out.. and I'm glad we did!Good location right near the stationThe place had a nice atmosphere and the staff were really friendlyBreakfast was great, amongst us we had the eggs benedict, full English and pancakes and everyone enjoyed their meals.Service was quick and I couldn't fault the place to be honestWill definitely be returning and would highly recommend

Had the full English with added avocado which definitely hit the spot if a little on the pricey side, liked the modern relaxed decor and will no doubt be back to try out the lunch/dinner as it is 2 for 1 on Tastecard (this doesn't apply to breakfast)

Been to here for couple time. The food wasn't good at all. The fish and chips we ordered were blend. The fish was small too.They only have the sauce for taste.

Excellent menu and service was faultless and welcoming.Food- we had tiger prawns, nachos or homemade fish cakes - followed by carbonara or poached salmon which was delicious. All well presented and service with a smile.Great ambience and definitely recommend.Just 2 minutes walk from Oval underground.

Currrently sat in the Oval Lounge watching the world go by through its large bay window. Second visit in the last few weeks and certainly won't be the last. Good food and good beer in a..... I hesitate to use the word trendy.....modern? contemporary? Bar near the Oval cricket ground. There's nothing trendy about a place that is clean, nicely furnished and decorated, has extremely pleasant and efficient staff, feels welcoming to singles, couples, families or groups of friends, serves good food and good beer. That's not a trend that will fade away; they're the characteristics of of a venue that will last. Highly recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the area or fancies trying somewhere different

I live around and decided to have a try. The menu is much to choose that it must be more concentrate for their food. We ordered BBQ ribs and lamb shank. The ribs actually is very tasty and nice with Marconi cheese. But my lamb shank is bit small and cold. Although it said is low cook, I think they are not cooking properly. It is quite hard to cut and the inside is bit cold. So, I only can give an average.

Went here for an afternoon brunch meal with my partner.I personally got eggs Benedict which was well presented and very very nice. Lovely good! My partner got scrambled eggs & salmon on granary toast which she also really enjoyed. It's a nice cosy place within walking distance of oval station. Definitely recommend especially as we got it on Groupon haha!

A chef who can really cook and with the best of ingredients. The salmon and potatoes and wlted spinach witha superb sauce were devoured by my wife, The linguine carbonara was frankly as near great as you get (but I'd prefer bacon lardons to ham). The portions were bigger than me! Then came the apple crumble with creme anglaise and it was just wonderful. Again it was huge, so next time we'll share one. Added to this was a great wine list fairly priced. And to make it all so much nicer was our waitress who was chatty and happy and made a lovely evening for us - Chelsea is her name (pat on the back for Chelsea!). We'll be back for more of this.

Quite a lovely, but basic, dining and drinking hole. (This is not meant to sound negative). The menu was compact but varied and the prices are very competitive for London. Unlike the negative review regarding the food, we enjoyed ours immensely. We shared a Calamari starter and an Ice Cream dessert, and both had the Cod & Chips. Everything was delicious and served very nicely. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the experience was very good.

Nice dinner in a really nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed finding this place. Wholesome food and a good selection of wines. Seek it out you won't be disappointed.

OMG, Ive just had lunch at the lounge after hearing so much great news with my only previous experience being brief for a coffee on route to work.IT WAS FANTASTIC - I could only manage 2 courses and against my PT rules took a desert as a takeaway.. which I'd learnt is available across the menu. It was clean, friendly & delicious food. There's even a lounge downstairs which would off been nice to relax in after my lunch - if there hadn't of been box's scattered from assumptions made of what may of been a recent delivery. Well Done "The Oval Lounge" you are certainly in my book of places to eat.

We came for a drink, and I would again, but we decided to order food, and that's where we made a mistake. We ordered the calamari (£6) which was okay, and the fishcake (7.50) to start. When the fishcake arrived it was still frozen in parts inside. I sent it back and another one was made. Unfortunately, although this one was not frozen, it was still cold in the middle. No one came to ask how the second one was after they knew the first one was frozen, and no amendment to the bill was made. My husband ordered the carbonara but was only served the small portion size (£8.50) after asking for the large portion, although he said it tasted okay, and I had the small portion mushroom risotto (£6.50) which was honestly horrid. It tasted like a solid lump of starch with mushrooms over fried in old oil. Never again for food, but we'd happily have a drink here.

Organised a birthday brunch for one of my mates who&#039;s a vegetarian. We had an amazing time. The staff were very attentive. They even popped a candle in the stack of pancakes we ordered to have after our full English breakfasts and mimosas which were outstanding. <br />So much so, I had friends asking me where I had this breakfast when I posted a pic on Snapchat and they&#039;re making reservations to go ;-)

We ordered a take away (via Hungry House) and the food arrived well packaged, punctual and it was very nice.

I ordered the Cajun chicken burger and green salad.Cajun chicken burger had no discernible Cajun spice and the one piece of lettuce and one slice of tomato didn't add a great deal. No sauce. Chicken was cooked well.Green salad was a small bowl of salad leaves smothered in Heinz salad cream - terrible.Total cost - £12. I'm still hungry.

The Oval Lounge is a cosy restaurant with some outside tables. Staff are friendly, and the food selection is good and tasty.

I live near Oval lounge. I sometimes go there to grab a drink and some food. They serve unique beers which are rarely found in typical English pubs. They serve satisfying food and price is reasonable. I'm always happy with them. What' more, even small size dishes have enough portion. If you find a cozy restaurant near Oval and Kennington area, I would highly recommend Oval lounge. It's not very formal but enough to have relaxing time wth friend and family. Of course it's also good for casual date.

I spent a nice evening here after a long day working in London from Somerset. I come up once a week to work and this was the perfect place to grab a bite and a glass of wine. The staff were welcoming and friendly, service was great and the food was delicious. I couldn't decide which wine to have so was offered a taste, which never happens in most bars or restaurants. I had the pearl barley risotto - really good! Really nice local place to eat and hang out. Thank you!

We wanted an early supper and this is one of the few places in the area that serves throughout the day. With good food, helpful staff and a friendly atmosphere, we had a lovely evening.

I always meet my friends here when I'm at Oval. It's nicer than a boring traditional pub and the food is good too. My last visit was at Halloween which was extra fun and the staff's costumes and the pub decor were amazing. ;-)

A small venue which packs a lot in! There is outside seating at the front in an enclosed area, and a lovely outdoor garden at the rear. Inside is bright and clean. Staff are attentive and friendly, and the food is excellent. A must to book during international cricket matches. Prices reasonable including the wines/canvas.

Visited for breakfast with friends. Full English breakfast was how an full English breakfast should be. We all had clean plates. A bit pricey but most things in London are.

If you can - avoid.Visited this place with friends - ambience lovely, and waiting staff pleasant. But the food was terrible, and ridiculously overpriced. I ordered the guinness burger, with brie on top and a side of Macaroni Cheese. First the guinness burger came without and cheese on top and I had to send it back. The macaroni cheese tasted like the stuff you get from a can, with some cheap cheddar thrown on top. Not good at all. When I got the burger back, it was what I would call 'tepid' temperature wise, barely above cold. The brie on top had obviously just came straight out of the fridge - just a lump of freezing cold brie on top of a dry, luke warm burger. Neither of my friends meals were particularly impressive either. The burger was £8.50, £1.50 to add cheese, and £3.50 for Mac n Cheese. The sweet potato fries were £5!! For this price, I expect them to be able to compete with the likes of Hache etc. The place is nice, the wine was lovely, they need a much, much better chef.

I found this place while looking for somewhere new to stop for lunch during the week. I recently started a new job, so don’t know the area well – certainly, there’s a lot less to offer than in Fitzrovia, where I used to work and where I was spoiled for choice.Menu is fairly standard for a gastropub experience, and the décor is pleasant – non-pretentious, but also not the mass-produced All Bar One kind of feeling. Service was especially friendly and helpful and, though the food took a little time in coming, it was of perfectly decent quality. Enough so that I’ll probably visit at least once more to try something else on the menu. My diet coke was a little flat, disappointingly, but otherwise this was a nice enough place to get some decent food and relax with a book for an hour away from the office.

Burger buns are reheated from frozen. Not really good. Burgers themselves look great, but if they are reheated not so great. Buns are so cheap, why reheat them from frozen???? Baffles me. I would avoid this place, even though it's cheap because of taste card

We ordered a full english breakfast and vegetarian breakfast and were left waiting 35 mins for our food before my boyfriend asked the staff what the delay was. They said that the delay was because they had run out of baked beans and had to go to the shop.... This is understandable but word of advice; do not leave customers waiting 30 mins before they have to come to you to ask where the food is. Almost 50 mins later our food was brought to the table. The staff were apologetic and the food was bordering on average/good but the prolonged waiting time left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We will not be returning and would advise anyone who comes here to only dine here if you have ample time and patience for a delayed service.

Visited here after a day at the cricket. Good menu, and a very warm welcome from the staff. The food that arrived was very tasty, but maybe it's just me, but I was left still feeling a little hungry after I had eaten. I had a feta cheese salad, and to be honest, it was a bit light on the cheese. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

I met with a girlfriend for a lovely sunny lunch sat outside in the garden. I had a great goats cheese and beetroot salad. Service was fast, and the staff extremely friendly.

Visited Oval Lounge on a Monday with a mate for dinner.Sat outside as the weather was good and had a beer while checking what to have. We both clocked the sharing platter for two. We thought as I was using my Tastecard to go for it.Apparently this is a £45 platter for two!£ 4 5 ! ! !We also ordered the large nachos to share as a starter, so the Tastecard can come to play. Good suggestion from our waiter.Nachos arrived and were great.Then they brought over a chopping board with some meat on it.From the size of it we thought they had gone in the trouble of spitting it up already and another one will come out. It didn't.I had to call the waiter over.Told him that a small steak, two butterflied chicken breasts and 3 sausages can't justify the price. They had run out of ribs, hence the two chicken breasts.He was apologetic and said he could see why we were complaining (new item on their menu, so they wanted feedback) offered a couple of sides on the house. Really nice of him but macaroni and cheese can't make up for lack of meat. We agreed on two extra beers.Then we tried the food. Nice BUT the only hot piece were the sausages with the streak nearly warm and the chicken cold!Talking about missing the target on so many levels!!!All n all the service was good and from the times that I have been there it's always been good.They just need to work out on the meat/price ratio of your platter.Till the next time.

Went for a Saturday morning breakfast. Slightly pricey but nice enough. Home made bread was great. Good coffee and friendly staff.

Busy but welcoming, good selection of drinks, reduced summer menu (that is, no Sunday roasts) but very tasty, generally. Poached eggs in the Benedict were not runny and the steamed spinach was barely wilted, but the Full English (whether veggie version or not) went down a bomb with companions. Great coffee and very acceptable tea. Be brave and go for the Bloody Mary if you need a hair of the dog!

We visited the Oval Lounge because it was round the corner and we had visited before. It was quite busy with nice outdoor space front and back. We sat inside and enjoyed a mix of breakfast and lunch dishes - the Full English Breakfast was tasty and filling with healthy amounts of everything, the Pie of the Day (Chicken and Leek) was succulent and flavourful and the Ribs came in a nicely proportioned plate. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept although the toilets are downstairs if you have access issues.All round I'd recommend for a relaxed lunch or a breakfast after a good night in London. Would definitely visit again!

The mash potato was really, really lumpy and had no taste and the gravy was practically water with way too much salt in it. Terrible place. No food hygiene. The staff was racist and rude. When i said i dont want to pay service because of the bad quality of food, the staff became extremely standoff-ish and started argueing with me,

£6 for two tiny toast ! and given only one plastic sachet of jam- told to ask for more if I needed it. ! ? I had imagined big homemade toast and jam...My daughter ordered muesli and was given the tiniest jug of milk possible.The service was poor, and the food ok but over priced- and then they did the annoying thing where they try and get you to add a tip to the card machine.On the plus side- there is barely anywhere else to go along that road- so this is like an overpriced oasis in a desert.Also, another plus is an unusual water feature opposite !

A great find for dinner, and really excellent food! The calamari rings were outstanding and the steak was sublime, ranks in my Top 10 list! Staff were efficient &amp; friendly, and a very relaxed atmosphere...5* on all fronts. Highly recommended.

Kindly put this play was okay, but the salmon and eggs were awful and of questionable freshness. One member of the waiting staff was very polite, however, the rest appeared to be on a come down that would have made Bez from the Happy Monday's early days seem tame. It's either that or they just really hate working in a cafe on the Clapham road and are all having an existential crisis about what they are doing with their lives, perhaps they would rather be in the south of France? Wouldn't we all.
