By far, the poorest portion of chips I've ever had! Plus, the place stinks! They use old oil, and it stinks the whole area out. Complaints put in to the council. Addition: Popped in for some chips after not using it for years due to the issue above. Well, safe to say, it's still an absolute disgrace! The chips were rock hard and stone cold! I just binned them and made a sandwich instead. It astounds me that anyone uses it when the one in greenwood is only a couple of mins away and is far better. Even the Callands chip shop is only 5 mins away and substantially better.

Rude staff..because I queried a price .when I said I didn't want it and walked out they were giving rude gestures out of the window when I pulled off in the car...Grow up or learn customer care

Really enjoyed it glad they AV Chinese menu back be good to av salt an pepper chicken chunks on menu not just salt an pepper crispy chicken

Very disappointed my young son ordered beef noodles in chow main sauce it smelt horrible it look horrible and tasted horrible. Boild beef and a nasty tasting sauce. And to top it off a black hair that looked like a pube. And i honestly deep down know it was.Just as I was getting a scoop to have a try their it was looking at me. I took it out and it was curly 😏. So that went straight in the bin. I got chips and curry sauce but with finding that hair in my sons meal it put us off so that went into the bin too. It's a shame as the people that was working that day had hair nets on and it was clean. So god knows what they are doing in the back for that hair to be in the food. Unfortunately I will not return

Good all round chip shop that also has a Chinese section. I had mixed meat and chips, chips were nice & good flavouring on the tikka meat. Reasonably priced & will keep going back.

Cash only, no variety, feels a bit sad

Just been in for a pie dinner. I went as soon as it opened, so I expected fresh chips. I knew straight away, they we're warm ups from last night. Absolutely disgusting and for £6.30 aswell. It's a shame, because it was the best chippy about before George had to retire. I definitely won't be going back again unfortunately.

Sorry,but we will be giving this chippy a wide berth from now on. After years of mainly good quality food,it has served up two successive bad meals. Firstly,overcooked fish,and small,hard chips.Then last night,okay fish and peas,but terrible chips.They were very dry,with an unpleasant taste,they went in the bin. Very dissapointed

Not as good as it was a year ago, but probably the best chippy in the area.

Getting Fish & Chips like they used to be isn't easy these days. The Orford Fryer however is certainly better than most 😃 If you could consider taking card payments at some point that would be ever better 😃

Got my dad a fish from here today ,freshly cooked ,he said it was the best fish he has ever had and he's 81 . Super clean environment when you walk in and lovely staff ,will be going again .

Proper chippy, worth the extra miles to travel.

Ordered bag of chips and a large, they came out cold, the chips where pale and slightly raw. The large fish was about one quarter of it was just batter most of whitch was soggy. Even the dog won't touch the fish

If you're getting curry and rice or curry rice and chips. Get an extra carton of curry. Smallest servings of curry sauce I've had.

Very poor quality food all round! The battered fish has the batter scrapped from it before it goes in the fryer so by the time you get home and open the fish it’s just a pile of mush. It’s hard to get fish and chips wrong but I’m afraid this place does it with style!

Really good donner meat and chips, that one mishap from 4 years ago can be forgiven (too much char siu sauce)

Disgusting don’t waste your money £14 fir two fish and chips swimming in grease the fish stinks in the bin we called to tell them they said there was no manager and all she said was ok !!! Drive past it it’s disgusting

Great fish, chips and peas and they do a small portion of the same. That's staff are efficient and pleasant.

Just like to say we were not happy at all with our recent order. Beef blackbeen - beef was chewy and tasteless and the sauce was unbelievably watery.. didn't taste like blackbeen at all. Beef chow mein - beef was tasteless and the sauce was tasteless too. Sorry but it was horrible. What a waste of £24 it was. Won't be ordering again unfortunately

I got my chippy tea. I asked for a sausage and they didn’t bother putting it in. I’m FUMING

Went 2 weeks ago chips freezing 🥶 said wouldn't go back but gave them another try 2 day 12.30 half way through opening time chips freezing again pathetic can't keep food warm don't go there if u like hot food 😑

Staff are always friendly, the service is brilliant and the food is delicious.

Had Chinese food, burger and doner meat with salad. Large portions great value, slightly longer wait but that was due to amount of people waiting. No card payments available, cash only, but a cash machine available in the shop next door.

I absolutely love it here the staff are always friendly and smiling and the food - especially the fish is Amazing x

I go here on a regular basis. Not the nearest chippy to my house, but definitely the best. Lovely staff and very quick. I always ask them to cook a fresh fish for me and they are always happy to do so. I can certainly recommend this chip shop.

It's pot luck wether you're gonna get good chips or not. To be fair, the other basic chippie stuff (fish, sausages etc) are normally decent every time but the chips, sometimes they're still hard which to me seems like they're rushing to get chips ready. I'd be more than willing to wait an extra 5 minutes to get decent chips. I'm sure others would too.

Not been here in a few year's, came to visit my mum and we decided to get fish and chips for tea (if that's what you want to call it) the batter was mainly rock hard which once bitten into turned to dust in your mouth the fish was very wet and soggy accompanied by some little rock hard dry pebbles (which they sell as chips) such a shame as this used to be a great chippy. Will not be returning and warning others not to. If you want a good fish and chips drive past here!!

We visited here last night and the fish was fantastic and the staff were very friendly ... the queue was out of the door so that's the perfect sign of a good chippy

I went off English chippies years ago due to substandard food. The Orford Fryer renewed my faith in the Chip Shop, it serves the best fish and chips (and sundries) of any chip shop I've ever visited. Happy to have it as our local.

Great well established traditional chippy. Also offers Chinese meals and kebabs. Still a great chippy

Located on a big carpark, service is good, staff are quick and efficient, can get very busy as it's a popular place, established around 22 years ago! Menu is always getting updated and they have some very good offers on at lunch times and certain days, NHS staff get discount also, The shop does close at 8.40pm at night so they can clean, They also have staff that deep clean every morning, Plus the food is lovely, with plenty of choices between English, Chinese and kebabs and burgers.... Enjoy

Unfortunately I wont be returning. I ordered two lots of chicken rice and curry sauce. Was told only had boiled rice available, no problem I dont mind boiled rice. Got home to find I had been given chips, curry sauce and kebab meat x2. Not the first time my orders been wrong. Given this place too many chances

Friday night and it was very busy so wouldnt have expected the chips to have been overcooked and lukewarm. Not up to its usual high standards.

Some of the staff are friendly. The food is ok it can be hit and miss. No more Chinese food from this place. The Chinese food was not good anyway. They are quick to serve. Fish is usually available without ordering. Depending on the staff you can get good portions.

Awful food. Ordered battered sausage and chips and the batter did not cover the sausage and what was there fell off and was stodgy. The sausage was not good quality either. Chips not fully cooked. Waste of money.

Chips are up & down here, sometimes rubbery as been standing too long in hot pan. Best to get freshly cooked if poss as they're not fussy what they dish up...Everything else a possible 2.5 points... I tried again on 26/03/18 (evening) Chips were better but not great, horrible rubbery fish this time & the mushy peas too sweat. My rating has now dropped to a 1.5 & have decided i will WILL NOT be visiting any further, i like my F&C to be somewhat decent, edible & consistent... & these are a far cry from any!
