I just celebrated my 40th birthday with a party at Orchard and I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5 stars doesn’t seem to do it justice. From my very first email, Betsy was so helpful, informative and knowledgeable and really planned the best night I could have wished for. The venue is stunning, really makes a relaxing yet vibrant atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and always there to help and the bar has a wide range of very well priced drinks. The food is on another planet. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and the wedges are next level. The portions are great, the options are great. Everything was amazing. Besty helped with everything from music to floor layout, timings and recommendations on food for the amount of guests coming and was even there on the night to help! I couldn’t have asked for anything more, Thank you all so much

I love coming here! There’s always a creative new pastry or item on the menu - I wish I could try them all! Today I had the mushroom benne which had so many amazing pickly flavours 🤌 also it’s such a relaxed and chilled space to be.

Absolutely love this place and their bakery and brunch! Such a lovely atmosphere, such friendly staff and dog friendly too. Must visit for brunch or a coffee and a delicious pastry!

Bonito edificio grande y viejo con mucho espacio para sentarse, pero estaba bastante sucio y moho en el techo. Necesita una buena limpieza. No pudimos encontrar un menú aunque había algunos en un par de mesas donde la gente ya estaba sentada. Cuando se les preguntó en el mostrador qué bebidas frías habían tomado, fueron bastante groseros y menospreciantes. El café estaba caliente. No puedo calificar los pasteles porque no había mucho. El aparcamiento es muy difícil. Si te gusta el café tibio en un ambiente sucio, entonces dale una oportunidad a este lugar.

I booked the Orchard for my Husband's 40th birthday, and it was a perfect! Great communication with Betsy from the get go, she was happy to help with any request and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food was really tasty, everyone loved it. The staff were super friendly and happy to help, nothing was too much trouble, they did a great job! I highly recommend the Orchard as a venue for any celebration. Thanks again for everything! Incredible!! The food is always amazing whatever you have from the overnight oats to kimchi pastry to cruffins to the glorious BBQ bennies. The yoga and breakfast on Sunday is amazing, Siona the teacher is absolutely fantastic, I look forward to it each month. Staff are always brilliant and Mike the manager is one of the greatest humans ever! So helpful, kind, friendly and professional. I will be back again, and again, and again! ❤️

Amazing food with great atmosphere and friendly staff

Nice food, albeit lukewarm. Drinks also not very hot. The place is cold, maybe difficult to heat a large open former church!? I wish dogs would be banned from these places, barking and yapping constantly that shrills your ears.

I visited for the first time yesterday. It's got a great vibe and the service was fantastic. They roast their own coffee and have their own bakery. Lots of options to cater for everyone. Even kids meals. The ham, cheese and pickle swirl was amazing. One of the best things I've ever had. The coffee was excellent. So good, I had to have a second cup. I highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back.

Nice coffee shop and good coffee, only complaint is the bakery cakes/pastrys all on the till area had all flys flying around,was put off ordering any cake because of the flys, would be better and more hygienic if the cake/pastrys were covered up

Do not go, coffee was terrible, food mediocre without any flavour just a mix of random things put together. Dirty tables with old food crumbs between the slats. Service is rude and non existent. Super loud and not a very nice experience.

I walked half an hour to get there just to find a sign saying that its closed Mo&Tue. Dear Orchard Team, please fix your opening times on Google!

Amazing pastries worth traveling for ! Always something unusual and super delicious ! The only negative is that it’s always so dark especially upstairs and at the back… they don’t seem to turn the light on ? Or maybe they are broken ? But it’s hard to read etc so puts me off hanging out there.

Met a friend here for brunch after finding the place via Google. Was such a pleasant surprise walking into the building, I wasn’t expecting it to look soooo nice from the outside! High ceilings, big windows letting in lots of light, nice decor. I really liked the vibe. The menu choices looked good. I went for the Green Shakshuka (which was okay but I didn’t love it) and my friend had the Kimchi Benny with mackerel which she really liked. I might try that next time! The coffee was good and the pastries at the till when going to order/pay looked very good too. I’d defo go back!

The majority of the food here is really good but I have had some ridiculously salty items from the hot food menu. It's also not really a good place for breakfast unless what you want is pastry and cake otherwise it's amazing.

We recently had our wedding party at The Orchard. We picked this venue because we regularly go for a board game paired with a delicious oat flat white and huge tasty brunch, we love the chilled, relaxed and pretty vibe of the place and the friendly staff (local art on the walls, different seating options, accessible entrance for pushchairs etc) Betsy was so chilled and organised throughout, it took all stress away from organising it. They got our local brewery faves on tap, made a delicious spread, we had a DJ set up downstairs and there was plenty of room for dancing and mingling for 75 people. Had a games area in some of the booths and on the night, Bean and the staff made some excellent cocktails! Went back the following morning to collect the flowers etc and couldn’t resist the delicious spread of pastries. Huge thanks to Betsy and The Orchard crew for an unforgettable night. Even after all the spicy margs.

We were looking for an affordable wedding venue in Bristol and we came across The Orchard Coffee & Co in St George by chance. We live just around the corner and visit the café all the time for their tasty brunch, speciality coffee and delicious cakes. But we had no idea they were available for private event hire until we walked past one evening and noticed they were hosting a party. We booked the entire venue for a wedding on a Saturday in June for a fraction of the price of many Bristol wedding venues. From the moment we started planning our tropical-themed wedding the staff at The Orchard went above and beyond all expectations to help us plan our perfect day. They even helped us instal the décor before the party and transformed the venue into a tropical paradise complete with sparkling fairy lights and colourful streamers. The Orchard has real character, with lovely big windows and a mezzanine plus an onsite bakery. They supplied canapés, a drinks reception, a delicious buffet, and their baker made us two exquisitely delicious wedding cakes. Best of all, they helped us source 50 pineapples that the bar staff carved into cocktails for our guests, and the team even wore Hawaiian shirts to add to the party vibe. The Orchard is the perfect size for a wedding and the main café area was ideal as a dance floor, while the mezzanine worked perfectly as an area to serve the buffet and for guests who wanted to relax. Our wedding photographer also captured some great photos from above. There was plenty of room to fit in the wedding band, so we all danced the night away under the twinkling fairy lights, drunk on love and pineapple cocktails. Thank you to everyone at The Orchard for making our dreams come true. You gave us the perfect wedding day and we will be forever grateful.

No GF options despite advertised. Went there specifically. How hard is it for a bakery to have a GF loaf on standby? Not very inclusive. Very disappointing. Love this place normally.

Excellent selection of pastries and baked goods. It can be more difficult to find a table when it's busy, on a Saturday for brunch. Brunch options are great and very tasty. Staff have been accommodating with dietary requirements. It's nice to have the option to buy bread and pastries to take home as well. You order at the counter, so there can be a wait if there are people in the queue for takeaway.

I've had my eye on this spot for a while. It's a cute and cozy little café. I only had a coffee and a cinnamon swirl which was good. Next to the freshly baked pastries, they also do freshly baked bread. I didn't try their food menu, but I'm looking to come back and try it out. 😊

Foods fine but service is rough… I’ve been twice and both times the staff was very rude. I am gluten-free and they are NOT very gf friendly- food wise nor personality/service wise.

It looked closed on the outside but it was very lively inside, quite busy on a Sunday morning. The staff were friendly, pastries and coffee were good but disappointing that they don't have decaf coffee considering it's a coffee place.. Would come here again!

We have enjoyed many a brunch at The Orchard. The food, coffee, the staff and the atmosphere has always been great. We started to look at possible venues to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday and The Orchard started to advertise hiring their space. We immediately thought it was the perfect place to hold a celebration. From the first contact all the way leading up to the party, we couldn't fault the communication from Betsy. She was organised and had lots of suggestions. As well as making us aware of things we hadn't thought about. We all had such a great time celebrating our daughter's birthday. The team on the evening were brilliant, so accommodating and friendly. All the guests loved The Orchard and the compliments were flying in about the food. The orchard had made homemade pizzas, salads and wedges. It was delicious and there was plenty! We obviously recommended people returned to try out the brunch menu and the coffee! Betsy had asked if there were any particular drinks we would like at the party and so we suggested passionfruit martini and espresso martini cocktails. They didn't disappoint whatsoever. The cocktails were presented beautifully and tasted even better! The espresso martini was made with fresh coffee *chefs kiss* One of the amazing bakers at The Orchard baked the most incredible birthday cake - it really was a show stopper! It looked stunning - we really didn't want to cut into it the next day but I'm glad we did! It tasted incredible. *one macaroon is missing in the picture - the birthday girl couldn't resist pinching it before the picture was taken! A big thank you to Betsy and the team for making sure the evening ran so smoothly. I'd highly recommend The Orchard for brunch dates, coffee stops and to hire for any event or celebration. It is such a unique place and the team are lovely.

Great when it is open, but regularly not open at stated business hours in the morning.

We were really excited to finally go here for food, saw some really awesome pictures online. However, disappointed unfortunately. Food was expensive for the portion size, and we had to pay service charge while ordering online without an option to remove it. This would have been okay if we had actually received service, but the only service we received was our food being brought out at different times without cutlery which we had to get ourselves. No tap water offered either. I had the kimchi Benny, and the kimchi was poor unfortunately. It didn’t taste of much, was hard to distinguish from the chard… maybe it wasn’t fermented enough? The halloumi was delicious though. Sorry guys… but we won’t be returning soon.

Nice food and lovely atmosphere. We went on a Sunday so it was fairly busy but we were lucky to get a table. Unfortunately there were loads of used plates and cups that were never collected so we had to try and make room for our own. Perhaps they were understaffed.

I recently booked The Orchard for my boyfriend's surprise birthday celebration - it was fantastic. We had a great party, with food and live music and the staff at the Orchard were so helpful leading up to the event. The Events Manager made sure everything went smoothly on the night and accommodated all the technical needs of the band. The food supplied was delicious - everything was relaxed and gorgeous. I've booked the Orchard up straight away for our next party!

Cute building and great pastries. Our order came out wrong but they were happy to fix it! The pastries were amazing but the prepared food was just alright. Happy with it at their price point.

Heard great things about this place so finally gave it a go. Compared to photos circulating online, the actual food portion was rather underwhelming. Sad slice of aubergine with yoghurt and the smallest piece of (nice, admittedly) sourdough with not even a bit of butter. Food arrived quickly - we ordered via the app and quickly realised we have to go get our own cutlery too. Service at the till was great - got a few pastries to take home, which were nice enough. Extra charge for oat milk should absolutely be abolished, it’s 2024 guys and before you say it’s more expensive than normal milk - other places somehow do it. Also, upstairs celing was so mouldy, clearly left like this for a while. I definitely wouldn’t rush back to eat in such environment.

Very local to me, have visited a few times with GF and friends. From the start when you order they ask for gratuity at the counter, before any sort of service is even provided. They bring your food over without cutlery which just seems a bit odd considering they have to walk past the point it’s stored. Some staff seem to have chips on their shoulders for no reason. If they can up their game with customer service and make it more accommodating the tips will roll in and it won’t leave such a bad impression. This on top of the price charged for food especially when some sourdough with chorizo and 2 small glasses of juice cost just over £25 before any actual service.

I went there from the ads I got on Instagram 😂 and honestly, there is a good reason why people do social media: ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CAFÉ. ESPECIALLY THEIR CAKE 🍰 OMGOD.. SOOOOO BUTTERY 🧈 FLAVOURFUL AND FRESH. MIND BLOWN 🤯 I mean the portion was incredible compared to the price. You can literally taste the freshness from all their items ( be it orange juice or coffee ). Service was incredible and loved the vibe as well. I mean, the location was in the middle of almost no where (very close to St George Park). No population as such. Far far from the city centre. But as soon as you open the door, you hear people chattering. So lively and yet so cozy too. Definitely highly recommend ✨

Used to love the orchard and was my favourite coffee place. But ITS SO BUSY now it’s hard to ever get a seat and they have halved the coffee sizes by changing the mug style ? Get a take out instead ! Xx

Thought I’d go here for a change as pics online looked good. To be honest overall it was disappointing. I had the freckled eggs yet this only included one egg? was so intensely salty and I think overpriced at £12, should be more like £10 max for what it was. Everything was nicely presented though. The seating is sort of ‘cool’ retro school chairs but they’re actually pretty uncomfortable with only a few sofa/cushioned seating options. Nice (but loud) music and lighting though it’s dark upstairs.

I went here this morning for a coffee and to meet a friend. I didn't like it from the moment I walked through the door (@10AM). It was very busy and the tables are very close to each other which made it hard to make my way to a free table. The coffee (Americano) was a bit too bitter for me and, for some reason, it was served in a tin mug. I have it black which means that the tin mug was scalding hot! Why don't they invest in some nice ceramic mugs?! The service was terrible and so once I'd sat down with my coffee and croissant I wasn't inclined to get up and order a refill - even though I stayed there 2+ hours. At least they provide free water which kept me going. This is such a shame because the space itself is amazing! Take a look at the pictures. Maybe new management is needed? It certainly needs something. What a waste of an amazing building.

We love coming here for brunch at the weekend. They switch up the menu regularly so there’s always new things to try. Their chai latte is the absolute best and their pastries are divine. We’ve had cinnamon swirls, roast potatoes, truffle, leek and cheese pastries and white chocolate with raspberry danishes- all delicious.

This has been on my bucket list for a while. Went with friends. In a nutshell not as instagram showed. Cakes 6 dry looking and not what expected. First negative no gluten free. Second negative no decaf beans that day? What a coffee shop? Third some items like chaka lake very spicy which should show on limited menu! My friend struggled eating it. Fourth negative youngish tall lad serving did not give excellent customer service and quite rude! Fifth sent a message just letting them know above negative to get a acknowledgement but no real changes will be made. Poor we won't be back. Good luck treating people like that.

Amazing building. Loved the food, chorizo and sourdough was really tasty. Only thing was it was a little dark. But besides that really enjoyed it!

Service is poor. Food is abysmal. Place is cold and dark. Bit shabby. I’d recommend elsewhere for the prices and quality of food or drinks you’re getting. Every time we’ve gone in there we’ve had to send our food back for either being burnt or undercooked and cold. The cherry on top is one time the owner came to talk to us when we sent a plate back with cold fritters and said “sorry it’s not to your taste”. It’s not to anyone’s taste mate, it’s undercooked! Recently went in to see if things improved and ordered a flatbread meal and it came out like a poppadom. Literally. Thin as a poppadom, broke into a thousand shards. Literally inedible and the waiter was laughing at us. Thankfully the chef whipped up another as he agreed and it was much better, well it was like an actual bread rather than a crisp! I’ve not seen someone mess up a flatbread before. Apparently the bakery is now relocated here, sadly they are still trying to bake and are still not improving. If you want an actual bakery, go to Loaf if you’re in the area. Otherwise go to Farro for the best of the best in Bristol.

Got here at 12pm on a Sunday, it was crazy busy with a queue out the door. Figured it must be good so waited for a seat... It was totally worth it. The staff were crazy busy but so polite and happy to help. The food was so great. We had one of these savoury danish crowns...pink pepper corn, honey, cheese and pepper: INSANE. Also got some sourdough dishes which were so good. Real hats off to the staff today 10/10. Food was unreal and staff were wonderful we'll definitely be back and recommending to friends.

I hired the Orchard cafe for my 40th birthday celebration and it was absolutely perfect! It was spacious and atmospheric with all the fairy lights and being an old chapel. We had pizza and salads and it was delicious. The staff were really friendly and everything went to plan, Betsy was in great communication and keen to help with event planning and it was all reasonably priced. I would really recommend this venue for any event. Thank you!

So lucky to have this cafe on my doorstep. The coffee is divine, the pastries, bread and seasonal menu are delicious and the staff are so friendly. Really baby and child friendly too. Plus they put on special events at night now too. A real local treasure.

Disappointing breakfast. No fresh juices. Despite there being lots of pastries and cakes, not one of them were vegan. I ordered 2 sides with my main and they were tiny portions added onto the main plate. Not worth the money. Won’t be going back.

Dog friendly! Really warm and welcoming staff, and always has friendly customers. The bakery is always trying new things, so there is always something interesting to try. I always take in my two dogs and they are always welcomed.

The food and coffee is amazing but the service is out of this world slow, even when there are hardly any customers. The system doesn't work and has got worse and worse in the last two years.

Wow this chaka laka stew is delicious. It's spicy, so be prepared but it has lovely coconut yogurt to cool it. I added avo and halloumi which goes perfectly with it. This is my new obsession. I'm upstairs and the lighting is dim so don't plan to read like I did 😁. All in all it's a lovely atmosphere and has quite a bit of space.

Found the food too spicy for me and portion small for price. Limited menu. Coffee (oat flat white) was lovely.

We had a lovely time hosting my boyfriend’s 40th birthday party last weekend! Communication with Betsy beforehand was great, we had also hired some DJ equipment. Yan and Reuben the staff working that night were amazing! They also helped with setup and adding to the atmosphere. A great venue to have a party :)

An amazing all-round venue. Great for breakfast/brunch, or hiring out for events/functions, with friendly staff and an excellent atmosphere. Very lucky to have this as my local.

No alcohol free beers. Most of the soft drinks are Sanpellegrino, which is owned by Nestle, so not really what you'd hope from an independent in a place like Bristol

We hired the Orchard in the evening for my wife's 40th birthday. It's a fantastic space for a party. The staff were very helpful, they set up a dancefloor, and we had a bar through to midnight. It was great fun!

Delicious brunch. Different take to brunch with super tasty options. Gochujang hollandaise sauce is fantastic! Plus, the place is gorgeous!

It's a really lovely cafe with great food and a laid back vibe. Always bring family here when they visit. It's great for our baby too. Would recommend the south africano.

Every time we have visited here the service and food has been incredible. The prices may be slightly higher than similar venues nearby, but I am very happy to pay this for the attention to detail, standard of service and lovely venue. I would highly recommend to anyone

What's not to like. Staff are great. Food is excellent and the coffee is also fab. Nice atmosphere. If your in this area of Bristol it's the place to go. Parking can be an issue. If you drive down the street to the left of the school opposite there's usually a space down there. Enjoy..

I had been meaning to try this place out for a while and finally got round to it yesterday. Through no fault of the establishment parking is quite difficult. From the outside and location it seems quite unimposing. However I side the decor and atmosphere is entirely different. I ordered a feta and spinach slice which was expensive but delicious. However my Americano was quite disappointing in comparison. Too hot and tasting bitter. However everything else was great. Would return.

I'm not going to rate such a lovely place any less than 5 stars - but it would be amazingly helpful if the staff knew the vegan cake options as they did not and they were not marked, so we couldn't buy any! Please provide sweet vegan options and ensure staff know them, I'll definitely visit much more often then :) - when the bakery was open opposite, the cakes were marked, so hopefully easy job. Amazing bread!!!

Visited for breakfast. Good selection available with generous portions. There was a slight problem with the food, but this was dealt with by the very friendly and helpful staff. Also bought some delicious cakes and pastries to take away
