Such a bad quality ans overpriced food. No discount for members.

The opening times on Google are wrong. This caused some issues on a family day out. BEWARE! Lots of people seemed very annoyed by this today as it was very busy but they just suddenly decided to close early…

Food well below par and really overpriced even for London. Coffee from machine cold but was exchanged for a barista made coffee promptly. Nice surroundings but definitely would not eat/drink here again.

Very rude staff and extortionate prices !!

The decidedly lesser cousin of the Armouries Cafe at Tower of London (which, unlike this one, is worth going to specifically). Boring food with classy intentions. Far far better than museum for of the 90s but that's a low bar. Cafeteria style with hot and cold options. Good amount of seating, particularly if you can snag an outside table. It was fun seeing the bird feet on the umbrella above our table.

I can't comment on the food but the toilets were refurbished and clean with beautiful tiling in the cubicles and an Art Deco vibe. Had a job finding them though as the entrance is unmarked. The restaurant itself looks pretty chaotic.

If you're Coeliac bring your own food, nothing is labelled. No sandwiches, all cakes had gluten. Assistant showed me some lovely self service salads.. but Cross Contamination was rife with serving spoons going everywhere. She got me some fresh from the kitchen. Had it been very busy this wouldn't have been possible I'm sure. So if you don't want to go hungry while exploring the lovely Kew Gardens.. bring a picnic or eat elsewhere..(all the restaurants in the gardens looked the same)

Self service inside Kew Garden. Various culinary proposals and not bad. Very nice environment, clean bathrooms.

Restaurant and café inside Hyde Park / Reservation is required, and sometimes you can enter without reservation Palace sessions in a luxurious royal hall, but it does not have air conditioning. It is very hot on hot summer days The outdoor seating is wonderful, wonderful, but we did not succeed in sitting in it because of the sun and heat. Certainly, in the spring days, it will be a fantasy. We ordered Vegetarian Afternoon Tea with regular vanilla tea and red velvet tea for sour lovers, they might like it. Afternoon plate, first layer, various types of desserts, second layer, scones, third layer, various sandwiches. The most beautiful thing is the place It is possible, if you finish, to go around the palace garden, which is very beautiful and also a beautiful little shop

You pay a fortune and you have to queue twice while your coffee gets cold and your ice cream melts and you have to wipe down your own table if you want to sit down before everything is completely the wrong temperature.

It's good but far too expensive.

Very expensive for very average quality food, and disinterested staff. I felt ashamed that people visiting from abroad would be subjected to such poor value for money.

Closes every day at 4:00 PM. Wasn't allowed in even at 3:55 PM. I do not recommend it.

Servers of the food were rude. She said Me and my friend weren’t in the queue when we’ve been waiting for 5 mins. Then when the people behind us in the queue vouched for us, she reluctantly served us and didn’t say sorry or anything and gave us rude glares.

Lovely place, very friendly people, nice atmosphere and great food.

It is what it is. No surprises. Very limited hot food option. Paper plates and wooden cutlery at inflated prices. Noted many nice cafes and resturants on the way to the gardens from the train station. So, coffee and a cake in kew and dinner at one of the many restaurants outside on my next visit.

Food and drink was low quality and so overpriced (even for london). Scotch egg was one of the worst i’ve ever eaten and was £7.50. Coffee is self serve and also low quality. Having said that the surrounds and building itself was lovely, shame the quality of food didn’t match.

My partner had a tuna sandwich .she was sick violently within an hour on our home trip on the under and over ground.i thought she was going to die !

Nice environment but unfortunately very expensive and poor selection. How about a very basic pre-made sandwich for £5.50? The sense of service was also completely non-existent.

Main coffee machine was broken today. We used the self service machine, which was passable. My friend enjoyed his sandwich, the pastries were okay.

The servant was absolutely overworked and everything was dirty. In addition to that the prices were just out of the roof.

We had a hot dish for £14.95. It was really good. We were pleasantly surprised because some reviews said that there wasn't much choice and the menu on the website was limited compared to what we could find on site.

AVERAGE. Not bad but rather expensive and limited choice.

Food was good, a little lack of service and it was crowded. But still beautiful and good quality.

Loved it. Got a seat right by the window with a gorgeous view. Would have been nice to have more of a cake selection, but the carrot cake was delicious.

Amazing food. Sea Bass was beautifully cooked with a perfect choice of vegetables. Sat outside but found the building work a little obtrusive.

Food was expensive for what it was but good quality. Quite hard to work out what you wanted when choosing.

Every single food dish on display looked like at least 2 days old. Food was dry and flaky, salmon had dar spots... very disappointing. Never again.

Horrible system.... 1st you have to wait for a cake, than, there's an automatic machine to make a poor coffee (only skimmed milk and oat or soy, no almond or whole milk), but, you need to wait in line to use it, there are no mugs available, only to-go ones, than, another queue line for paying. 4 cakes, 4 drinks, £32 way overpriced for the self-service. Outside tables are scratched and chipped. Cakes are tasty, though.

Lovely place to eat. However the food was school canteen food with no clean cutlery and had to wait to find any tables free.

Infuriatingly slow. 20 minutes to serve coffee to a queue of five people — you’d think they get a bonus for dragging their feet.

I have been very keen to explore Kew gardens in as much detail as possible. Which includes the food and beverages services. I went into the Orangery restaurant for a lunch time meal. A lot of the food and beverages ingredients are locally sourced which was an added attraction. The Orangery restaurant was very busy and most of the tables were full. I decided to have fish but maybe next time I will try the vegetable option. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Rather expensive but was good food.

I love this place for a break after a long walk , then to enjoy some food there with a friend . I love the tomato soup 🍲🤤

I like the Orangery because it's a really nice place to eat when you're at Kew. The self-service system is a bit chaotic however and can result in free very nice food being cold. It's very crowded of course which adds to the delays.

A busy place but with a reasonable food and drink offer. Plenty of tables both inside and out.

The Orangery Kew Gardens. This was the worst meal I have ever had - the meal deal eg rice, chicken or fish and 2 sides ( one of which was chips when rice was part of the deal!) It was cold and tasteless. It was very embarrassing as we had invited 2 guests. Necessary to choose cutlery carefully as not all looked very clean. The knife was not even sharp enough to cut the broccoli stems ... not that I could eat it as it was cold. Will certainly not go there again.

Great food in an amazing and historical setting.

Apart from Atmosphere, this place is not good at all. Pricrs are high. Simple vegetable tart costs £10, where coffee £4 pound but tasted very bad. I could not drink it after first few sips. If you want to have food inside Kew gardens the restaurant next to kid's playground.

It was a brilliant day here with an incredible selection of cakes. It's a shame I didn't get a picture but I'd highly suggest you get the carrot cake one as it was incredible

Lovely building in an even better setting. The coffee and cake were both fitting of the location. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the person taking our order just looked/spoke to me even though it was my girlfriend who placed the order.

Sandwiches that curls up at the edges staff who are less than helpful and pigeons that fly around over your head inside and no gluten free options

A lovely spot to have lunch/cup of coffee at any time. It was a dreary grey day but the place was bright and cheery. Very nice bathrooms and clean!

It has plenty of seats, and with its tall ceiling and glass windows, it feels airy, and yet a warm place to relax over a pot of tea, etc...

On this occasion I had a very overcooked scotch egg for over £6. It was so hard when I cut it a big chunk comically flew off my plate. I really need to complain more but I'm too English!

The salads looked shabby and limited choices unless coleslaw is a favourite. Who wants pearl barley soup? Chicken bake looked dried up. Limited choice of bagels and baguettes. Coffees were lukewarm. Indifferent service. Cakes were overpriced and very heavy. Next time - We'll take fresh healthy sandwiches with us. Very disappointing option choices. Even the chips were cold....,

So the place is beautiful and the food is great but honestly the prices are an absolute joke. They are taking advantage of people stuck inside Kew Gardens and hungry. It's £8 for a bagel! I just had the free tap water, the rest was ridiculous. Everyone was complaining.

We were very disappointed by our trip to the orangery. We were left excluded and really let down by the orangery. My wife is coeliac, upon arriving We found that the food selection was varied and expensive (to be expected) however there were no gluten free options available apart from 1 item in the cake section, the staff seemed lost when we asked what was available. They advised that the hot dinner sides (roasted vegetables and potatoes are gluten free) so with nothing else available we asked for a plate of the sides. We were rudely told that we could not have the sides as a main and we needed to pay for each bowl of sides separately, very expensive and generally poor. Had the staff been proactive and priced the only available food in a similar way to the regular customer then the review would have been different, sadly it is not. We were surprised that an establishment like kew would not be more inclusive and switched on in these instances. Avoid if you are gluten free.

Horrible experience. I ordered food and paid at the counter, but cash was not accepted. When I asked again, they said that I had to pay the exact amount. So they wanted £20 for a £15 meal. Daylight robbery…

The quality and choice of food have improved after the refurbishment. The same cannot be said for its hot drinks. It remains a nice place to drop by for a light meal and a drink.

The prices of the food here in relation to the quality is unbelievable! £8 for a scotch egg- couldn’t quite believe it! The food is attached by many wasps whilst in basks in the humid room- they need to invest in better protection for the foods! £5.95 for half a sausage roll- completely stale & £8 for an egg baguette- utterly disgusting!!

No salads and poor sandwiches, especially considering this is Kew Gardens full of the joys of the natural world ! Hot food finished ;although it was a hot summer's day I probably wouldn't have chosen. Cakes , coffee and setting lovely Didn't go to the other restaurants at Kew Gardens so choice may be different.

What a beautiful location just in the middle of Kew Garden. The atmosphere is at the top. Quite amazing and Royalist. Beautiful garden views, inside and outside seating, very eye catching building as a beautiful conservatory. Clean & tidy place. Service and food was ok, not as I was expecting but the prices were over the moon according to service and food they were providing. They can provide much better service and choice of food at those prices.

Nice cafe with a good choice of drinks, cakes and pastries. The staff are professional and friendly. Bright and very spacious, even on busy days. I always like to eat there when I visit Kew.

Beautiful building. They close at 4pm so not many people can enjoy it. There is a stream of potential clients who come in just to be disappointed. Maybe instead of asking for donations at every step they could stay open longer?

Lovely to eat in here on our visit. The food was good and the atmosphere is nice. Comfy chairs. Airy and light. Glad to see the catering has improved at Kew over the past few years.

Overall the building is absolutely beautiful - the windows and original flooring, all gorgeous. We went at lunchtime on a Wednesday and it was chaos. There are multiple ways in so there are people everywhere. One could easily walk out without paying and you need to queue at multiple different counters if you want different types of food; coffee at one, hot food at another for example. There is a gorgeous terrace and lots of indoor seating, but of course very busy at peak times. The food was fresh and very nice though.

Such a shame - this place could be so much better. Sort out the queuing system for a start and improve the quality of the food as it’s so overpriced for what you get. My ‘hot’ meal was particularly cold and was missing any greens, which is strange for a roast dinner. There’s such a beautiful vegetable garden on site, yet the quality of the food in the restaurant is well below standards. Probably OK for a quick hot drink and cake though. Improvements urgently required!

This place is a rip off. £5.50 for a small slice of cake and practically no one was eating any - and everyone was complaining about the prices. It’s such a shame that Kew has spoilt the tea and cake experience for its customers with such ridiculous prices. If they just lowered them a bit more people would eat there and more people would be happy. #falseeconomy

Lovely place inside the Key Gardens , where you can have a Snack or a small meal, everything made out of fresh ingredients. (self service)

Food wasn't really tasty it was fresh and not over cooked We had the veggie option which was butternut squash stuffed with brown rice topped with a bit of goats cheese, i needed more cheese as it was bland. A bit pricey at £25+for 2. We ate outside so that was a plus. Tills were slow too.

Not a wide range of food unless you are a vegan. Very tasty chicken baguette and crayfish bagel both delicious but selected from a narrow range.

Exorbitant prices for mini portions

Appalling lack of water available in the Orangery. Very small slow dripping tap inside and a long queue at outside one. Asked several members of staff to fill my water bottle and they wouldn’t help! We had just spent over £40 on lunch - why do I have to fight for tap water?! It’s 26 degrees today! For the love of humanity, water is a basic human need. SORT IT OUT!!!!!!! :(

At least it looks nice. That's how I would sum up our visit. The rice had lots of uncooked grains, making every bite a gamble of whether or not your teeth hurt. The quiche was served cold, which can taste good, but here it's just bland, hardly any flavor. Definitely not worth the money we spent. Like other visitors mentioned: pigeons are roaming around and wait for anything you drop. At some point a waiter took our tray away.. I assume they don't have enough?

Even by the standards of tourist trap eateries, this is one of the worst I've encountered. Not cheap, everything self serve, and extremely poor food safety, to the point that the cream served with the baked good purporting to be a scone had curdled and turned yellow from lack of temp control.

Not a bad cafe - good size and obviously well located for when you're in Kew Gardens. The choices of food/drink aren't great or plentiful, but they do the job. You can be queuing for a long time if it's busy, so the service is relatively poor. It's also expensive, but that's part of the Richmond borough experience!

i remember when i came here on may 31st this year and there was a pigeon eating and knocking down the chocolate muffins and then a staff proceeded to put the muffins back up even though she watched them being pecked at. fine dining i guess! whoever ate those muffins i’m so sorry x i’d attach photos but it doesn’t let me smh

Where to start . On entering you can see there's little staff visible so hence unclean tables an a grubby feel to the place . The staff you do see , not all but most were miserable in their demeanour . We chose to have a hot meal , of the three choices available we chose the chicken cacciatore with roasted new potatoes and onions , total price £27 for two portions of luke warm bland oily fare , which we had to wait a few minutes to receive as there were no staff serving . There is a water tap available that trickles out water at a pathetic rate , at least 2 minutes for 250mls , probably purposefully so that you end up buying the extremely over priced bottled or canned drinks . £2.00 for a can of coke for example . Or maybe have a cuppa and cake , £2.70 for a tea . £5.25 for a recently defrosted small piece of cake , Don't go there it's a rip off and unwelcoming .

Expensive food poor quality sandwich fillings. If I'm gunna pay £20-£25 for 2 people baguette hot drink, crisp & choc bar. I expect a better quality ham and cheese not wafer thin cheap ham and a chewy baguette.

The place and its setting are very lovely, but the food is really untasty and expensive.

Absolute carnage. Screaming kids. A bizarre free for all. Constant screeching of metal chairs on tile. AVOID!

Nice food stop in the gardens. If you can get the comfy chairs at the end it's lovely, otherwise you'll not be quite as relaxed. The food and coffee are standard fare, think any large cafe you've been in, but the staff are kind and helpful. It gets very noisy when busy!
