While it is a bit more expensive than other places we always eat here when in London. My family had the Sunday roast which was very good and not too expensive and I had the beautiful afternoon tea. It was lovely and a great experience.

Came here with a friend on a rather sad occasion and this certainly perked her up. We had a table by the window overlooking tHe garden on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed a really good tea with all the trimmings. The service was good and our particular requirements were served without mistakes. This hotel is lovely but being a local I have never stayed but would like to, it is very stylish. The Orangery has a selection of different casual seating and it is a popular venue, with good reason. Try it, you will not be dissappointed and you can then walk in their lovely gardens which it overlooks.

There were nice tables and sitting areas immediately in front as well if you wanted to eat in the beautiful garden. Washrooms were outside, hidden behind building and were clean but basic.

I went to the Orangerie 8 years ago and I remembered little orange trees everywhere, giant table display of treats and delicious scones enticing one to come in an enjoy high tea, so I booked a reservation to share the experience with my daughter this trip. However, we were underwhelmed. No flowers, no orange trees, no ambience other than the building itself which is still lovely. No display of treats and british delights to impress upon arrival. Table setting was still pretty, tea and treats still presented to inspire, however the scones tasted like fluffy white bread possibly baked days ago. Even my daughter commented that scones weren't the dense moist treat of yum we have had elsewhere. The rest of the sandwiches were flavorful save for the cumcumber sandwich which was literally a piece of cucumber between white bread. It's pretty to sit there and enjoy the Kensington Palace area, but something's changed.

We were a party of 5, all having dined at Cannizaro House's 'The Orangerie' on a number of occasions from High Tea through to lunches and dinners. Our Sunday lunch experience was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had! We did comment at the time and were given 25% off our food bill so credit to the restaurant for attempting to address these issues at the time.ServiceService was slow to non-existent with clearly no training on how to wait a table being given prior to being let loose on customers - reaching across us with menus, plates of food and drinks; topping up my water glass and pouring half of it into my plate of food etc etcWe also had a member of the party who required a gluten-free diet. We asked for GF bread (apparently available) which never turned up. Drink orders were taken but took so long to arrive we had practically finished our meal by the time they arrived. Nobody came to offer us the buffet course nor any explanation on when to go, where to find plates etc.FoodThe 4 course Sunday lunch costs £29.First cold - cold soupSecond course - beautiful seafood and cold meats buffet - I wish i'd forgone the main and just concentrated on this!Main course - choice of roasts, steak, pie etc etc. I ordered the roast beef with 'all the trimmings'. Beef itself was fine, although no sauces offered. Roast potatoes dry and overcooked, broccoli dry and totally overcooked, yorkshire pudding was burnt. All 3 people who had the roast had the same issues. The other 2 guests had steak frites - 3 tiny, thin pieces of rump steak which made a mockery of being asked how they would like it 'done'. The boiled potatoes brought out for the GF guest were greyish black and totally unappetising. Dessert - good choice of desserts which sounded lovely on paper but left a lot to be desired. 'Profiteroles' was one giant profiterole - hard and stale, filled with ice cream. The Apple Tarte Tatin had a scoop of icecream that was completely melted by the time it reached our table, leaving the pastry soggy and inedible. Nobody likes a soggy bottom! The advertised 'banana and rum bread and butter pudding with rum & raisin icecream' was in fact a plain bread and butter pudding with vanilla icecream. It was lovely but it would have been nice to be told I was getting something different from the menu.Overall, we were all seriously underwhelmed. I dont normally write negative reviews but on this occassion felt that others should have a chance to find out what the venue is like before parting with your hard earned cash. If you want a festive atmosphere for a special occasion, good service and nice food - look elsewhere!!

It's now Hotel du Vin, and we had our lunch in the Orangerie (not to be confused with any other dining areas there). To summarize, I'd say food excellent, extensive menu, service left a lot to be desired, and the PROFITEROLE was out of this world! Seriously fantastic! With good service, this meal would have been absolutely wonderful. I'd made a reservation but when they looked for it, they couldn't find it. Fortunately it was pretty empty, so we were able to be seated by the window anyway. The service, sad to say, was abominable. Nice enough staff, plenty of smiles, very polite, but our waiter was pretty useless for the most part. For example, when taking our orders, the he just stood there. I had to tell him what we wanted, he didn't ask me for my order, just stood there! No "would you like any sides?" or any guidance at all. Once i'd ordered my sole, if I hadn't said I'd like some sides, I would not have received anything other than a great big fish on my plate! I'm sure a lot of people may not know that you don't get anything else on the plate, so he should guide the guest and say "what sides would you like?" - but he didn't. I had to tell him everything, then I was the one who had to ask my guests what they wanted (he didn't ask them, just stood there, looking at me, like I was the designated table orderer!), and then I had to tell HIM what they wanted. He still didn't ask about sides, so I did the official order round up for the table and passed the information on to him. Strange. We'd ordered a starter of the sourdough bread with different butters. TWENTY MINUTES LATER it still hadn't arrived (bear in mind, I think there were only two other tables in use at the time, with maybe 5 other diners in there - so they were hardly swamped) - our waiter had disappeared, but when he eventually showed up and I was able to flag him down, I asked him where the bread was? He said it was being freshly made for us and he went off to find it. He came back a few minutes later with 4 slices of COLD bread (if it had just come out of the oven, it would not have been cold), and one little thing of butter. He dropped it off and disappeared again. I had to wait for him to show up again and I said "there is supposed to be pesto butter too" - so he looked surprised, hurried off and brought us the other butter. After several minutes of eating the cold bread, I flagged someone else down and asked where our food was, that we were pretty fed up with waiting and then getting cold bread - he looked shocked, rushed away, brought back a basket of piping hot fresh bread (not the sourdough bread) and it was a thousand times better. I wished he'd been our waiter - he seemed a LOT more efficient! He apologized for the wait and went off to find our waiter, and they brought our main courses. We still had to wait about 10 minutes for the sides, but (drumroll.....) the food was EXCELLENT.We had sole meuniere and one of my guests had the salmon with lentils - the salmon was served skin side up, with layer or pesto crust (or whatever the crust was) spread over the skin on top - but that skin wasn't crispy, it was as limp as a dishrag so totally inedible, and therefore my guest just peeled off the skin along with all the flavorings. Normally, if there is a flavor crust on the skin, the skin is crispy and edible - or else the paste if spread on the non-skin side, so you can get the flavor with the salmon - not in this case. Anyway, the salmon was excellent anyway, the soles were fabulous, and the side portions were very generous (two people could have shared one portion of potatoes, instead of ordering their own separate sides). The food was PIPING hot, although plates were not even luke warm - but we were delighted. Our water glasses were never filled up, I kept trying to catch our waiter's eye, but he seemed to be avoiding us - I sat with an empty water glass pretty much throughout the meal, but when I did see him again, I flagged him down and asked him if there was a water ration - I also told him the food was excellent but so far the service was poor- he seemed surprised at my directness, but my guests had become very frustrated at just the total lack of any follow up or attention - particularly when the place was practically empty. Anyway, I was glad I spoke up because he DID buck up his ideas and attention - brought water immediately, and when my glass was half empty, he refilled immediately - and became attentive. For dessert, we shared profiteroles - and this is not like any profiterole you've ever had. So here's some advice - you MUST MUST MUST get the profiterole! It is HUGE, smothered with delicious hot chocolate sauce, and served with ice cream - it was fantastic, and the highlight of our meal. Even if you don't go for lunch, just go for the profiterole - it will be worth it! Beautiful scenic environment (try to sit by the window) - great place to walk off that meal, just lovely! I'll be back for sure. If service had been good, or we'd had a different waiter, it would have been 5 out of 5. Beautiful grounds! Wonderful to walk off the meal afterwards, going down to see the ducks.

Had a beautiful sunny afternoon so sat outside. The wait staff was professional and surprisingly friendly. Service was prompt, too. The tea was served in beautiful china and was delicious. The food was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The only reason this is four stars instead of five is the washrooms that customers are directed to are little more than clean outhouses. We live locally to Cannizaro Hotel and have been going there over many years for coffee, afternoon tea, lunch and the occasional overnight stay. It's certainly had its ups and downs but until recently (prior to the reasonably new Orangery extension) it was a charming place which welcomed everyone including children and dogs.Since the Orangery was built the staff have become extremely rude and to say you don't feel welcome is an understatement. They are unfriendly and come armed with a huge list of Do's and Don'ts should you put a foot out of line to the point that you feel frightened to breathe - don't sit on those seats, don't sit at this end or that, don't touch the orange trees ....! They seem to fail to understand that people go there and spend their hard earned money in order to relax and unwind, not to feel tense and be 'told off'. Recently we received a severe scolding about using the car park by an especially rude receptionist who is clearly in the wrong job as courtesy completely eludes her.Since this last incident we will no longer be using this hotel. We had considered using it for a family function but will now take our business elsewhere. Nor will we be recommending this place which we had done so enthusiastically before. Such a shame that the management does not have the foresight to welcome, in a fitting manner, both locals and visitors to this beautiful part of London. I notice that the management only replies to the positive comments placed here. Maybe they should start listening to the negative ones - pride before a fall!

The menu is limited but adequate for what is designed to be a light eatery. We had the plaice and the asparagus salad. Both meals were delicious. My only gripe would be that no-one mentioned the children's menu and so we bought breadsticks and olives which came to £8, far too expensive for a small portion. It's a great place for an informal lunch, especially during the week when people on Cannizzaro park aren't trampling through.

🚇 Tooting 🍺 £5.95 Pravha The Goringe Park is located on the border between Tooting and Mitcham in Southwest London. The nearest station is Tooting mainline, the nearest Tube is Tooting Broadway. The Gorringe Park dates back to 1879, taking its name from the nearby Gorringe Park Estate which is long since been swallowed up by suburbia. This was originally a Young and Co pub, Charles Wells Pub Company purchased it from Youngs in 2012. This is a vibrant and spacious multiroom pub which is set out over three floors. The main bar is located on the ground floor and is set out in a “J” shape around a centrally located servery. The decor is bold, mixing bright colours, eclectic furniture and traditional fireplaces. In the basement is a Cinema room, upstairs is a function room called The Library which has a small bar and a contemporary decorative feel. At the back of the pub is a walled beer garden with a tiki hut. The beer line up was broad and featured familiar brands, two cask ales and beers from @brewpointuk which I’ve not seen in London before. I kept it simple and ordered a Pravha, my pint was great, price point was average. The food menu was predominantly burgers with a few traditional pub grub options, Fish & Chips costs £13.95. I arrived just after opening at 12pm and was the first punter through the doors. I was greeted by the Guv’nor who was welcoming, friendly and personable. He was kind enough to give me a tour of the pub, and he told me all about the history of the pub and what they have on. Unfortunately this pub shut its doors in the summer and it is not clear what the next step is or what the future holds. One thing is for certain, pubs are closing at a phenomenal rate across the country and need as much support as they can get. Utilities companies, landlords and the government need to do a lot more. Also, they need our support in our local communities. Use it or lose it, support your local pub where you can. 📅 13th April 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

The place is great: excellent location, attentive service, and wonderful food! We had Sri Lankan dinner and it was simply memorable. Fernando, the waiter, was the best: friendly and attentive. I give our expedience a 10 out of 10. One marvelous thing: They have complementary American breakfast for guests. This is such a thoughtful detail because in London food and drinks cost an arm and a leg.
