Not what it used to be what a shame! The man behind bar lacked any charm so no wonder the place was dead on Saturday evening. Used to be full of fun friendly people from all walks of life and now dead with an unfriendly bar man.

Walked in at 9:35 to be told they were already closed.

Was waiting at the bar, and the bar woman served other people before me, knowing i was there first. Pub quiz going on but didn't participate.

Nice, and welcoming pub. Great customer service from the blonde lady behind the bar, I think I heard the regulars calling her Alex. Really brings a cosy and welcoming feel to the environment and handles the bar very professionally. I’m not really one for pubs but she manages the bar very well and I tend to just want to come in to the pub for a chat and some banter. Very welcoming pub, calm environment, dogs allowed and great vibes. Will be back very very soon to experience the food.

We came for a short stay and ate there every evening. A pure good time, very well received and top notch cuisine I highly recommend

Nice selection of beer, inside of the pub is nice and clean. Menu looks nice but didn't have any food. Beer garden feels very run down, full of weeds and covered in butts. When I walked into the pub it was dead quiet, no atmosphere. Hopefully the beer garden gets sorted before the summer.

Was a lovely Sunday afternoon having a roast dinner. The portions were generous and the service was amazing. Will definitely be back soon.

We popped in on a Saturday evening while heading to Tooting, only to find the pub a mix of a private party, and a number of families and dogs. We have been here when they have arranged comedy nights or movies, sports etc and had a blast.

Had our engagement party at the Gorringe Park - function room was perfect, great so in system, light system, private bar and toilets for the party. The pub itself was had a great style had extremely wide selection of wine and beers. The staff catered for all our needs and were extremely flexible with our requirements. Kieran and Patrick were super helpful and extremely generous. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Great local pub with plenty of tables and a beer garden

The food is fairly basic pub food but a decent amount for a fair price. The staff are lovely and welcoming with a nice atmosphere both inside and in the beer garden out back.

Me & my partner won a voucher at my daughters school fair for Sunday lunch. We visited with my 6 year old and had a great roast dinner. The pub is very nice with lots of games to play while waiting for food/drinks. Dog friendly with a nice sized garden too. The food was absolutely amazing and that’s coming from someone who isn’t too keen on roast dinner. Kids sized roast also available and was actually a very generous sized portion. I can definitely recommend the roast sharing platter which is a great size for 2 people. Yorkshire puddings are amazing & all the meats melted in your mouth with a generous portion of flavorsome gravy. Staff are very welcoming & friendly, our waiter was lovely. We will definitely be back very soon for another Sunday lunch.

Excellent local w/ great selection of drinks (and phenomenal dry roast peanuts). Come for the quiz night on a Tuesday or early evening and sit out front - stay for the cracking service and chat to Brendan (with his ever sunny disposition) and Balah at the bar who are both fantastic.

What a great pub! It was established in 1876. The staff are super friendly. They have a weekly Tuesday quiz night which was really fun. Great cider and ale. Restrooms are downstairs, where there is also a cinema. There is handicapped restroom at ground level. Just ask the person tending the bar and they will let you in.

Had a lovely Sunday roast with friends. Plenty of food unlike some pubs. Well cooked, lots of vegetables. The staff were very attentive and friendly, we were all very impressed, especially with the lovely guy who served us.

I’m a regular at the Gorringe, it’s always welcoming and the staff are great. However first time at the quiz on Tuesday, lovely atmosphere, good quiz and packed out. Special shout out to Brendan & Balah behind the bar who were fab, really lovely to me and all my friends!

Previously came in for food and they weren't serving. Serving times are odd as well. On this occasion we waited ages for service maybe as they were short staffed and apparently family run, seemed to take forever, eventually got our food which was not great. Fish and chips came with fries not chunky chips (weird in my opinion), Mushy Peas were dried and looked like they'd been in the pot for a while, chicken strips and chips were also really overdone so much so my son hardly ate anything, not like him. There were quite a few little flies about as well which put me off eating too. It's a real shame as it's local to me and we need more child, friendly places. The one guy who was serving was nice but he was clearly run off his feet while answering the phone and serving, not good service for a pub. Think it's safe to say, we won't be eating here again.

Gorringe Park came through and saved our party in a pinch. My wife was set to host a special celebration for our sons (one turning 3, the other only a few months old). While we originally planned to hold the celebration in the park, the weather forecast wasn’t looking promising. A mere two days before the celebration, my wife met with Tony (manager) who gladly showed her the upstairs function room and made a VERY reasonable offer which we could not turn down. On the day of the party, we were allowed to take all our supplies to the room ahead of time, rearrange the furniture in a way that suited us best. Sound system was provided (tablet loaded up with music apps) and the offer of using the screen was on the table (although not needed for us). In the end, we had a great time. I’d love to find an occasion to use the function room again, but until then, I’ll just have to be a regular patron. Thanks again for saving our party, GP!

Always a good experience here. I’ve been coming here for years. The new decor is amazing as well as the ambience. The staff are lovely. It’s an all rounder for me!!

Had the Roast platter. Only the lamb and mint sauce was really good.

I had my gender reveal here recently and the staff were so lovely, welcoming and accommodating. The food was lovely and the children's meals were brilliant. I would definitely recommend here if you wanted to have an event or even day lunch/drinks or chilled evening drinks with friends

The GP is the perfect local. A few years ago this place was transformed from a very run-of-the-mill boozer into a community asset, with comedy nights and a cinema to boot. It's great to see all walks of life in here, from the old regulars to families with babies. Fundamentally though it has remained a great place to have a beer. Great sunsets over Lidl in summer too, if that's your thing.

While this used to be a favourite pub due to cinema nights it offered downstairs I can't say it's retained the glory days of the past. Bar service was great & it's still popular for a local drink with live music. However, my pie was miserable, felt like it had been reheated in a microwave with overboiled veg and the meanest bottom of the pan portion of mash I've ever seen...asked for more but even that tasted old. It's a shame but the kitchen is awful.

Stopped in for beverage, apparently this place has a cinema the lovely Irish gentleman behind the bar informed me ! Good pint of Hell's, very clean and will be returning. Food looks good too.

Place is good however beer Peroni wasn't.

I want to like it more. Since they've changed hands they definitely improved the service and the odd opening hours. Also nice to see them serve a roast, show sports and host quiz nights. I enjoyed the roast dinner but the weekly food was bad with terrible prices. Paid £6 for halloumi - fine, but they came from a bag. Everything is mentioned gourmet throughout the menu when it just isn't. Gourmet burger and chips is best part of £17!! Felt so ripped off. Below average burger and chips from a bag. Unfortunately the food was better and cheaper by the previous owners. I understand it's tough for pubs at the moment but the prices do not match the quality. Will try again in 3 months

Very happy to have this pub as our new local having just moved to the area. Olly and the team let us rent out the upstairs for our daughters birthday and they went above and beyond to help throughout the day. We couldn't have been happier. Everyone had a great time and we had many thumbs up reviews on the food from our guests. Great pub.

Was nice to be shown around by ollie as I used to live here as a child and it's the first time I've been back in a long time it doesn't seem to have changed much in all that time, nice to see it still going as a lot of pubs are closing around where i live in Yorkshire...

Pretty standard pub, nothing super nice about it and nothing super bad.

Unfortunately gone down hill since new management taken over! Service charge on all food. And food now expensive but low quality! Nice play to drink but food not recommended at all.

This was one of my favourite pubs but it’s been redone for the worse. Cozy nooks and warm lights replaced with neon cocktail signs. One of the best food menus with some insanely good burgers has been replaced with gastro cookie cutter menu. Retro posters and the cinema is no more and they only serve larger. Not sure who’s idea was the refurbishment, it really doesn’t suit the area, such a shame.

Very happy to have our local pub open again. But i think the relaunch has missed the mark a bit for catering to the many local families that have always used the pub. I'm not sure this is really the area for many cocktail drinkers... Food was ok, chips were great, but the wine and kids drink choices were very limited. Such a shame the lovely Gorringe sign has been changed too!

Awful! Only thing that has changed is the decor! Barmaid couldn’t understand. Only 1 larger on tap which was flat and tasted awful, Ordered a lemonade which was from the tap it was like fizzy water, The bottled lemonade (large bottle poured in to a glass) was flat. No snacks available. They need to sort out their service and drinks! Not a great start!

Refurbished local bar, friendly for dogs. Very tasty food and nice service.

Favourite local and destination pub!

Cashless pub, you can give cash but no change given. I had £27.50 bar bill but only 2 twenty notes to offer. So do I have to pay 40 pounds for a 27.50 bill?. I had to use a card that I didn't want to use. No real beer either just gassy tasteless larger. No wonder people staying at home. Staff were pleasant though. Not their fault.

Spacious, very nice staff, great kitchen, I might host a listening party there next year.

Cosy venue , interior is quite old fasioned but it has a charm about it. The staff were polite and service is excellent. The pictures are quite unique victorian and slightly spooky . The pictures hang almost suspended in mid air because of the tree in the background yes quite ghostly .Good for Halloween. FULL MARKS.

Decent local pub on Tooting high street. Small but cute upstairs - decent size garden as well. Staff are happy to help and the menu, when I last checked, had loads of burgers and fries options. They also have a cinema room with regular screenings of great films!

Had the cheeseburger which as mentioned in other reviews was slathered in mustard making it inedible. Shockingly bad.

Cinema Room is a great shout for a relaxed but fun night. You can reserve the place just for your group and you can requested a particular film be shown. Had a great time tonight for my birthday watching Shrek with a pint and a burger.

Really cute place to watch movies with super comfy sofas. The perfect night in & out. 😁

I’ve always liked this pub, nice staff, nice atmosphere. The food has always been average though, nothing amazing. Today we went for Sunday lunch as heard they have a new chef/new menu, and I can honestly say it’s the best roast we have had in tooting. Plentiful, very tasty, and exactly what you want from a Sunday roast. I had braised lamb, my partner had roast beef - served with all the usual trimmings including homemade yorkshire. Delish. Already looking forward to going back to try more of the new menu.

Love this restaurant/ cafe. The food is absolutely delicious! You can get your English breakfast but also pancakes, smashed 🥑 with perfect poached eggs with or without bacon, smoothies etc....They have a wc just out the back door which is very clean and warm. Staff are also friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Used to have great food before lockdown first time going since then. Only doing burgers, but they were very good. Unfortunately they are not selling ale which was a surprise. Had a nice wine instead. Staff very good, safe distancing well observed. Would recommend if you are not bothered about having ale.

A little bit further up from the tube it attracts less of a crowd and has a more relaxing feel to it. Burger were juicy and staff attentive but I would have given it four stars if they did accept verbal orders than insisting on the use of the app for Covid reasons.

A nice local pub with different types of drinks. The food menu looks nice. The prices of the beers & lagers are a bit high but that hasn't stopped me going there. The staff are nice and friendly.

This place is sadly looking really tatty. Beer is over priced and the staff not as friendly as days gone by.

Just to update. I gave the Gorringe another try and booked 6 people for a quiz night who all traveled a distance. Despite a manager saying it was booked and having my number to tell me if not. The quiz was cancelled. This was not the staff who run the pub but it seems the brewery management who take bookings. So unless you want a wasted journey I would be careful. The staff seemed nice and apologetic so fault of theirs I give two instead of one because of the barstaff
