Great atmosphere, didn't get the chance to try the food on this occasion

Nice pub garden, nice atmosphere and also a nice pint, what more could you ask for

As a walking group of friends we had prearranged a birthday celebratory lunch with the proprietor. We were 20 women, each paying £12 for the event. The food which was served couldn’t have cost the landlord more than £50 in total, if that. Small processed cold sausages, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, pork pies ( both cut into small portions) chicken drumsticks and white rolls with processed cheese slices. No salad in sight. Did not complain at the time as didn’t want to spoil friend’s birthday. incidentally she bought 3 bottles of Prosecco for us all. The food was embarrassingly dreadful and won’t go back. Am sure evening meals a lot better but to be treated like this was insulting.

Excellent pub! - we travel to Baldock once a year, and make a point of going to The Orange Tree every time! Lovely atmosphere, real ales on hand pumps! Great food, and some fantastic live music on ! (* last time we saw a fantastic acdc band called " GONE SHOOTIN'! " . Absolutely brilliant night! ). Can recommend anyone to go to the Orange Tree! 5*

Came in Christmas eve. Delightful ambience, very friendly staff, roaring fire, lovely old building (not that obvious from outside). But best of all, superb range of real ales, all that I tasted were first class

Had a great family Sunday roast meal this weekend. Pre-ordered in the meats, great quality and quantity of food on plates. Well cooked. Great service by the staff. Catered for children. Drinks were great, especially as I love my ales (had a couple of pints from the Buntingford Brewery, one of my favourite brewers in the Anglia region). This was our second time for a meal here in the past year and would come again. Cheers! 🙂

Fantastic Oak Beam Pub with great atmosphere and service. Landlord is a real character. Went for live music and had the best time :-)

I went to see SUGS ukele band play so I just had a few drinks and some peanuts and pork scratchings. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere good. Great music room in the beer garden. Great venue for bands. Will go again.

One of baldocks best pubs to go for a drink. Nice friendly atmosphere, good space inside and out, dog friendly.. alway a win and we do quite like the lunch menu, especially when we can sit out in the garden and eat on a nice day.

What a friendly and welcoming pub! We came here after a very wet and long walk on a Saturday night. They weren't doing food but were happy for us to order a takeaway and eat it in the pub. There's a great selection of drinks and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. The owners are really sweet and welcoming.

I’d forgotten about this place for so long, really glad to be here again. A great place to be lunch time. Staff good for the gluten free food. Beer is excellent. Dog friendly.

Seriously...a " music and sausage festival"?? Sunday evening a woman kareoke singing in the outdoor covered area...whilst inside, in what was probably a Conservatory and tiny too,with NO stage to at least keep the musicians equipment off the errrr dance floor , a rock/ metal band playing,followed by a rock Punk band !!!!. Oh and the mix for the punk lot was unbalanced ,hardly any Bass guitar audible at all!!!... What on earth would have it set up like that ??????? ..BUT......if you only Interested in the pukka Ales alone ...5* ..........

Arrived early for wake but they were very accommodating, opened up early and supplied snacks, coffee and tea. Buffet was brought out early and food was good big thank you

Had a petanque match at Orange Tree today. Good at half time to enjoy some warmth, drinks and tasty food. Pub busy with rugby watching clientele, but accommodated us happily.

Our go to pub in Baldock. Anywhere from 6-10 Cask ales on at a time, the majority of which are from local breweries. The Sunday roasts are exceptional (booking is needed as they're often fully booked on a Sunday). Lovely big garden and dog friendly too.

Such a great pub. We celebrated my mums birthday here and they couldn’t have been better, from helping us with the birthday decorations, to sorting out the kids food first and keeping us very well hydrated. The Sunday roasts are delicious. Perfect pub for a pint and also a family dinner out.

The staff and landlord are great, good survice, good food and a fab garden.

What a delicious Sunday Lunch… we added one more person last minute plus a baby needing a high chair, all taken without any problem. The food was cooked really well, no mushy veg here! The gravy was served in separate jug ( very important to one of us!) and was re-filled when asked. Very good value for money too.. portions are very generous.

The food was okay, not many options.. Good prices for food.

Find it difficult to fault this pub. Great ales, and a good selection too. Decent food. Friendly locals. Staff who know what they are doing. Also live music. Importantly it feels like a pub, not the sort of over-commercialised place a lot of pubs feel like.

The Orange Tree Baldock is our local pub. The Sunday Lunch we had today was well cooked and presented Chicken with plenty of well cooked vegetables, We shared a Sticky Chocolate Pudding and Custard. All in all a good meal for an autumn day

Had post cycle ride pint of real beer. Excellent.

We have a 7 metre motor home and visited with Britt Stops, they could not have been more helpful. Came out into car park when we arrived to ensure we were happy with parking. Great selection of draft beer etc. Nice menu with plenty to choose from even for vegans and vegetarians. Definitely come back. Thank you

It was Balstock so there was a few colourful characters there but this did not distract from a really nice pub. The owner has gone to great lengths to make his customers and local community welcome and catered for. The staff were quick and efficient and the toilets were clean. I enjoyed my time there.

Really liking the booths they've built in the gardens, even have little tv screens and lighting in with comfy ex bus seats.

Food was really good, though seemed to get lots of veg to compensate for a smaller serving of meat on roasts. Huge Yorkshires! My son's burger bun was however sodden with grease from the onion rings on top that hadn't been drained long enough, so he had to take the top off and discard it. Service was reasonable, good selection of beers and ciders. Nice pub garden, though it was a shame that the kids play area was cordoned off and not in use.

Visited this pub with a friend and we both chose different meals. The food was spot on. The chef puts emphasis on using local ingredients. I rarely walk away from a meal 100 % satisfied but I did after visiting The Orange Tree to eat.

Recently moved to Baldock and have been slowly exploring the pubs. Only been to the Orange Tree for a catch up with a friend, it was quiet but friendly with great porter on tap. Definitely will be back again for food in the lovely looking beer garden.

I came to this pub to make a delivery I was so impressed to what they have done to the pub. I came back the next day for a drink and some food. Unfortunately for us due to the music festival being on the menu was limited. There was 100 plus bands playing in this area. So it was a very busy weekend. If you are interested you must come and see it for yourself. Due to covid, due to the pub being closed the owners opened a shop inside. Due to the success he then built a purpose shop on the grounds of the pub. Which is still open today. What a landlord to have in your local area.

First time I've come here. The owner has done really well in covid by opening a small shop for customers and his garden has been done really good. Good was limited as music festival season. Would recommend you to visit. Great staff.

Visited today with my Husband. Very Covid secure with clear signage and sanitiser in several places. We both had a roast and wow! Huge plateful of divine roast potatoes, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, carrots, stuffing, pork, apple sauce and a huge Yorkshire pudding and the best pork cracklings ever! The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, checking a number of times that we everything was ok with our meals and if we needed anything else. Amber was very good at ensuring we never ran out of drinks and always with a smile! Fantastic experience, we will definitely return and highly recommend!

A lovely local pub with lovely staff, friendly atmosphere and with current circumstances the have catered well. The bar snacks are great and excellent value , perfect for a chilled afternoon/ evening with a pint .

Always fantastic service from the friendly staff. Great food when we have had it here and top notch service. The landlord, Rob, has also done a fantastic job of keeping this place going and supporting the community during the past year with the pandemic and lockdowns.
