Couldn't get a nicer place. Very tasty! NOT expensive.

Very rude dealing with the customers , asked for starters at pub and were planning to takeaway the main course , but the man who was in reception straight away said that it is not possible to have only starters at pub without having any main cours😥😥

Good size portions. Staff we nice, there was group booking of us(16) so they got alittle confused but soon sorted it all out. Would go again

Our family visited here last night, 4 adults and two youngsters. Quite simply THE BEST Indian restaurant food I have ever tasted. We had the Achari and the other couple had Pathia, absolutely stunning. Nothing more to say. Give it a go, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This is the most unprofessional restaurateur. no customer service, no ethics. You can spend half an hour going through their huge menu and ordering online, but they will cancel your order. Just let us know that we cannot deliver; you have to come to the restaurant to have that. also not authentic Indian food.

We were let down at the last minute by another restaurant. Eleven of were told at 6.15 for a 7 o'clock meal that the restaurant we were meant to go to was unable to take us. A phone to this restaurant and everything was solved. Excellent meal, excellent service and very reasonably priced (about £25 each with drinks and tip). Thank you.

Disappointed, 1st time we visited this restaurant and although the decor was pleasant the food was very Bland. It wasn't a problem having to wait for the table service as it was clear they were understaffed, tables were left uncleared although people had left 20 minutes earlier. Chicken tika starter was tasteless and my main course Bland and tasted the same as my husband's although he ordered a totally different dish, as frequently visiting Indian restaurants around shrewsbury, we left and still the table had not been cleared of our main courses. This one place we will not return to.

We went for dinner at about 6.30pm and everything was far above our expectations. The exterior is very deceptive. Don't be put off by the rather run-down car park. The interior is modern, stylish and a big contrast to the outside. Service was great, food lovely and the portions generous. What a find. We will return 👍

Delivery order here. The food was hot and amazing, really tasty. However, the delivery was 30 minutes late, and the delivery driver was rude and kept complaining about how far the journey was, not very professional. This made me reconsider ordering again.

Converted pub. Smart India restaurant with a good bar. Lots of parking and week day offers that look great value. Main event is the food. Absolutely excellent. So eat in, take away or delivery you won't go wrong. Phone or app to order.

I firstly wanted to order paneer biryani which they had ran out of. I then ordered “Prawn biryani” there wasn’t a single prawn in the dish. “Biryani” is a rice dish I didn’t have a single bit of rice in it. Meal was pretty tasteless. Expensive and took a long time to prepare. I was told half an hour I was actually waiting 50 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend. “Mahim” Indian takeaway is Mike’s better and I wish I would have stuck with that. Disappointed.

Placed an order online, I called to pay over the phone and was told it would be an hour which is pretty normal for a Saturday night, nearly 3 hours later my order arrived after another 2 phone calls. although the food tasted lovely, all dishes were very short of chicken (only 3 to 4 bite size pieces in each) staff over the phone were polite and apologetic but probably won’t reorder again

Amazing curry, beautiful surroundings and really good service. What is not to like about this restaurant ? Chicken dhansak one of the best I have ever tasted and the nan bread was delightful. If I could give it 6 I would !

Tell you to collect at a time, however the food is always ready about 40 mins AFTER the time they tell you. Food is bland, decent portions but not the best in terms of quality. Staff rude and ignore questions as to why the food is late. Won’t be returning

Hadnt been there for a while but had a lovely meal.

Stylish restaurant / takeaway. Had to wait for food for about 30 mins which is always a good sign. Had a chilled bottle of Cobre which was refreshing. The food was hot and very tasty. Well worth a visit. The staff are welcoming and very pleasant.

First time back since the start of the pandemic. Food here is always excellent and it is our goto place for takeaway. The premises have been refurbished to a high standard and now has an excellent modern neon vibe to it. The staff remain attentive and friendly. The food is outstanding as always. Update: went here on Father's Day and the service and food remains outstanding ... Still our restaurant of choice.

Having moved from the West Midlands where we can find excellent restaurants on every street corner I’ve struggled to find a good curry. Until I found this takeaway. It’s the other side of town to us. But worth the wait. Delicious. The best in the vicinity. Well done.

Food arrived warm and the portions were very generous. Although we ordered food for that night there was so much food we got 2 meals out of it so very good value for money. All the food was very good quality and tasty. Delivery did take a little bit longer than expected but they did apologise and the food made up for it.

Had a takeaway twice now, both where awful. Yesterday, big family takeaway, took 1hr 30 mins. Missed one meal and a man bread. Took another 30 mins to bring missing stuff. Had prawn curry and was bland and watery. Before that was tikka masala that tasted like cheap tomatoe soup. Not recommended at all.

Went in to order a takeaway, I was told it would be 10 minutes. 41 minutes later I was told it would be another 5 minutes. I couldn't wait any longer and said I wanted my money back as I had to go. The man behind the. counter then answered the phone and turned his back on me. I couldn't wait any longer and had to leave without my order and without my refund. There were only 8 people in the restaurant and a couple of people waiting for takeaways. How would they cope if they were really busy?

20 minute order time rurned into 40 minutes, it's apparently complicated with a long order, how will they managed with large groups in the restaurant? I also wondered if I'd come to the wrong place as it is in the middle of refurbishment and hopefully the dust does not make it to the kitchen. Food was nice.

Shockingly bad ..do not even think about a takeaway from here my meal went straight to the bin..No flavour..very watery ..simply put...tasteless slop on a plate with a hair in the rice and incredibly expensive..Definitely will Not be going back

Takeaway menu came through the door stating that they delivered to our postcode. Ordered food only to have a message 2 HOURS later stating that we were too far out. Rang up and was told that they had been unprepared for demand following leaflets delivered. No refund for order, AVOID. Scammers!!

It was 20 mins late, and the driver decided to take a leak outside our house. And then when we opened it was missing a dish and he was really unhelpful. The naan was undercooked, and everything else was mediocre at best. They did have good yoghurt and mint thought

Got a take away delivered to the Premier Inn, for Sunday tea. Really good quality: But I'll hold the fifth star back until, or if, I ever eat in.

Literally the worst takeaway experience I've had. Over-priced, poor quality food. Arrived 90 mins after the given delivery time. We called to chase the order twice and were lied to about the food being on its way. No apology. When it came the order was wrong. They even sent a meat dish instead of a vegetarian, numerous other mistakes with the order. Was promised a refund, which wasn't given. All round appalling.

I ordered a delivery I got 15 phone calls of delivery driver he was describing somewhere no where us. Phoned restaurant they said he was somewhere different to where the delivery driver told us. Never received our meal.

Table of 5 booked for 6.15pm. Restaurant wasnt very busy but they also do takeaways and they were busy and prioritised. Food service was massively slow and waiting staff were witnessed to be talking to each other rather than doing their job. We had to fetch our own beers 3 times with one occasion of my friend having to tell the waiter where the barmaid had placed our beers. Our starters arrived with out the poppadam items being cleared and all were still there as the mains were delivered. Extra cutlery had to asked for, we requested the table to be cleared several times. The food at this place is second to none but the service is without doubt appalling. We gave this place a second try because the food was so good but please give the onslow a miss unless you dont mind poor service. We asked for pints of Carling but are pretty sure that is not what we got. To explain the layers were different colours.

We dined out here in a group of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Particularly as within the group we had 2 vegans, 2 vegetarians and 2 meat eaters. In particular the vegetable jaflong and paneer naga were firm favourites. All the curries were full of flavour and the sides, particularly the naan bread and chips, were cooked to perfection. Only a few small gripes: 1) menu did not state which food was vegan and when asked, staff didn’t seem totally sure either 2) No secret is made of the fact that the wine is Aldi’s £3.69 bottles but triple the price. I know there has to be a mark up but... Aldi own brand wine, really? 3) there was no sparkling water, bottled water or alcohol free beer for my brother who was not drinking that night, not everyone wants sweet, sugary drinks!

This was our first and will definitely be our last order from Onslow. The food was terrible it tasted like cleaning detergents and we also find what looked like a small metal staple in the nan. The photos will not even do justice but the chips as mentioned in another review were soggy and had been fried in the same oil as other products (meat) and you could smell and taste it in the chips. The Scallops were torpedo shaped with the breadcrumbs falling off and they tasted the most like detergent or some form of cleaning product. The Paneer dish had a lot of oil in it and tomato’s were added to all the dishes to fill them out and use less ingredients by the restaurant. We binned the food in the end as it was so inedible and following the food was Onslows menu. Maybe you have to be intoxicated to eat here so the blandness is not noticed. Never again.

Onslow is by far our favourite Indian restaurant in Shrewsbury. The food is amazing we can’t go a week without ordering from here. Everything is faultless with all the curries and sides we have. Highly recommend their madras, vindaloo and naga chilli curries.

Ordered a Fathers Day take-away and was delighted with the food and price. Arrived bang on time and piping hot. Even though there was a starter missing they happily and quickly rectified and delivered again whilst being very apologetic. Great value for money and will definitely be returning.

We ordered a lockdown home delivery. It has been quite a while since we last ate at the Onslow and we want to support our local restaurants and traders during these unprecedented times. I ordered a king prawn bel puri starter, a chicken tikka starter, salad, and channa pile rice. The food arrived well on time and still hot. It was absolutely delicious, and although portions were large, I managed to eat it all - except around a third of the rice. The team at the Onslow are always so welcoming, I look forward to booking a table when the lockdown is over.

Good pub to visit and a fair price to pay for a pint

Honestly so poor. I had a takeaway, the chicken was really hard like it was cooked days ago, the peshwari naan was dry, the chips were cold and hard. It was like they had re heated from days ago. It was delivered but I live in Gains Park so it can’t be the time it was in the car. Utterly terrible

Great pub, can be better, has heating but Is freezing. All staff and customers are great, furniture and fittings are all knackered and need replacing, we spend loads of money in there as customers, it's a shame the Indians who rent and profit from it don't put the money back in.

4 Persons visiting. 4 persons ordered different meals. All meals looked and tasted exactly identical. No further visits planned.

We have been a loyal family of customers at the Onslow Balti for over 6 years having spent a minimum of £3k+ on sit down meals and take-aways at the Onslow over that time. We have never had a bad meal or take-away at the Onslow Balti until this evening (New Years Eve 2019) and have always recommended the Onlsow and taken our family and visitors always here as a good quality dining experience.Now !! Our take-away this evening was £19.65 for a Chicken Puree (as a main), Tandoori Mix Grill (with Nan) and a portion of chips. What we actually got when we opened the bag at home a 20 minute drive away, was a single starter Prawn Puree (wrong item in type and size !!), a bag of wet soggy chips almost uncooked and totally inedible, and the Tandoori Mix Grill contained half the normal portion size of meats, and a full tray of lettuce instead. £19.65 for wrong food items, starter portion size costed as a main, and inedible food. We were disappointed to put it mildly.We rang up the Onslow this evening to politely point out that standards of accuracy, quality and value had completely disappeared, only to be told by someone answering the phone at the Onlsow Balti that they were too busy and to ring back another evening in the week. Charming customer service ! If too busy to listen this evening, then sadly here comes this honest and accurate Trip Advisor review.Sorry to say this after so many years of our loyalty, but we will never return to the Onslow Balti and our future money will be better spent elsewhere. Such a shame.

Loyal customer since 2012, just had worst experience ever. Visited a week ago and took take away home got the wrong meal and unable to eat it, phoned onslow and they agreed I had wrong order and said that when I went again it would be on the house. We called a couple days ago and true to their word we got our replacement meal and drinks on house free of charge. Got meal home popadoms had been sealed with hot food and were wet and limp the curry was really awful, the nan was breast and soggy, it was worse than the original and I am afraid they have lost a loyal customer of 7 years I will not be going back. Called in for a quick meal while visiting Shrewsbury Hospital on a Sunday night. Restaurant was totally empty. Felt vast, outdated, tired and impersonal. Poppadoms arrived in a ‘70s style plastic basket. That said they were well cooked and the accompaniments were fine. Had the tandoori mixed grill with saag bhajji for main course. With the exception of the shish kebab, the meat was over cooked, particularly the chicken which was quite dry although well flavoured. The saag bhajji was very good as was the grill’s accompanying naan.

Coming from Sheldon in Birmingham, where they have an abundance of great quality Balti restaurants, I was a tad concerned that moving to Shrewsbury would see the end of my monthly Balti pleasures.Fear not, this restaurant is as good as, if not better than my favourite haunts along Coventry Road B26.Great food, fantastic value, and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Try this place, you will not be disappointed
