The Onslow Balti Lounge in Shropshire

Ordered online and gave 2 hours notice. Food turned 45 minutes late and cool. Had phoned twice and told them it was our first time with them and I would be putting bad review regarding delivery time After heating in microwave chicken wings were inedible. Main courses had no taste, husband added chilli to his so it became a bit more authentic. I'm not sure if I put blindfold on that I could have said what I was eating. Very expensive for poor quality and very disappointed. Do not recommend anyone go there unless you want bland, coloured food and you don't want value for your hard earned money.

Nice enough restaurant but it lacked atmosphere and the food was quite bland. Maybe we just caught it at a bad time but I doubt it as it was coming up to christmas.

This is a full Sports Bar and Restaurant. First the Sports Bar. I’m sure this is the worst bar I’ve ever been in. From the out side it looks like a crack den. Litter, Brocken Lights set in a car park and gardens that looks like the aftermath of a nuclear attack. This brings our area down and that offends me. Inside is worse. Checkout the men’s toilet. They couldn’t be bothered to complete the partition to the disabled toilet. You can look over and see who’s on the bog. Seriously 😟. Rank selection of beers. Decor that looks seriously naff. And no music. None. That’s infuriating. No atmosphere no music. And a sports bar is supposed to show All the sport on tv but not this place. None the Indian. Indian it is not! It’s bang average if they get the order right. This bar is a gold mine but in stead it’s a big sport on a wonderful part of town 😔

First time visit for party of nine, food was amazing and staff really friendly, my new favourite local Indian restaurant. highly recommended

Food was over an hour late and it was cold when it got here. Curry’s were watery and tasted bland! Chips were soggy. Naan bread was dripping wet.

Really greasy starters and chips, looked like and tasted like the naan breads were picked up from the shop 😩

The delivery driver told me to come outside for the food and had me wait 40 minutes out in the freezing cold. Never in my life have I had a poorer experience ordering food.

Food is really good. Delivery driver got angry at me because he had to drive 11 miles? If he’s not happy delivering to my house then why do I have the option of ordering from here? I don’t really see how this is my fault and why I had to get a lecture from the driver. Food was brilliant

Time for delivery kept changing, everything was stone cold I rang the restaurant 3 times, last time they told me it had left and it 40mins after that so unsurprisingly it was cold, used to be better here

Ordered a takeaway with the wait times stated 55 minutes. It then turned up 3 hours later and was cold. Staff wouldn't do anything about the situation.

Loved this place. Really fantastic meal at the Onslow. Very good food indeed. Superb service and a nice atmosphere. 😎👍👍👍 Chicken Jalfrezi highly recommended.

love curry eat alot from the curry houses in and around shrewsbury, this one was not for me there was just no taste in any of the currys we had and very watery, all looked fresh though, sorry onslow until you get some taste in your curry I won't be back.

Beautiful food all delivered hot.

Fresh, tasty and ultimately delicious food, definitely make sure to try the Rogan Josh (Chicken or Lamb). The Rogan Josh goes well with the Keema Naan and Rice so would definitely recommend as well. We are lucky that is place is on our doorstep, would recommend to anyone and we will be returning to the Onslow Balti very soon!

Easy to order the menu has a good choice . The driver was really pleasant. The food was piping hot and good portions as well as really tasty . Will definitely use them again 😊

Toilets in pub doors don't lock and are not clean the curry house is nice clean bright, disappointing pub

First time customer and the chips turned up anaemic, we had separate dishes yet both curries tasted exactly the same, far too sweet. Naan underdone and curry was watery with literally just dry chicken pieces and no other ingredients aside from the sauce. Abysmal

Food was late sauce was diabolical tasted of nothing all it had was dried coconut all over my teeth. Naan bread was acceptable. If I was sat in the restaurant eating this I would have massively complained

Very rude dealing with the customers , asked for starters at pub and were planning to takeaway the main course , but the man who was in reception straight away said that it is not possible to have only starters at pub without having any main cours😥😥

Good size portions. Staff we nice, there was group booking of us(16) so they got alittle confused but soon sorted it all out. Would go again

Our family visited here last night, 4 adults and two youngsters. Quite simply THE BEST Indian restaurant food I have ever tasted. We had the Achari and the other couple had Pathia, absolutely stunning. Nothing more to say. Give it a go, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Takeaway, bit of a mix up on order and delivery but great food, fresh and tasty. Thanks guys will be back. Delivered to Oxon Hall Touring Park. Had the Naga was perfect as was Nan.

ordered my food for a certain time but got a phone call saying they couldn't do that even though they had the time listed on their options! food came and it was cold and didnt look fresh so it wasn't worth it.

Although the meal was very good , it was late , warm and I ordered Tandoori chicken and got Chicken tikka tandoori pieces, I was expecting half a tandoori chicken. Overall the food was delicious,just disappointed with the lateness and wrong meal .

Placed order at 19.30 and was given a delivery window of 20.00-20.20 our food arrived at 21.00. When the food was delivered the driver didn’t even apologise for the delay and the food was stone COLD, we then had to microwave it before we could eat. We ordered roast chicken and chips costing £8.99 and the chicken was really small definitely not value for money.

Really disappointed this time! Have never had any issues in the past but it was delivered late even though, on the Just Eat app, it said it had already been delivered, I had to ring & find out where it was! The food wasn't as good as normal, mine was actually very tasteless & some poppadoms were soft. Sorry but I'll be a bit hesitant ordering again 🤷🏼‍♀️

Food hub put the wrong address rider refused to deliver to the correct address even after offering an extra tip

Everything was cold, pompadoms were soft , brown meat in my meal was so tough it was inedible. It was like trying to chew leather , only thing I eat was the kebab in my starter. It all went in the bin,

Lovely quiet restaurant with amazing food 😋

This is the most unprofessional restaurateur. no customer service, no ethics. You can spend half an hour going through their huge menu and ordering online, but they will cancel your order. Just let us know that we cannot deliver; you have to come to the restaurant to have that. also not authentic Indian food.

Sadly all the food was really bland. No flavour in anything. 2 of us both found the same. Really poor from a place that used to be quite good.

Great service and excellent food

We were let down at the last minute by another restaurant. Eleven of were told at 6.15 for a 7 o'clock meal that the restaurant we were meant to go to was unable to take us. A phone to this restaurant and everything was solved. Excellent meal, excellent service and very reasonably priced (about £25 each with drinks and tip). Thank you.

Superb tasty food and great quality. So nice to see big chunks of great quality chicken in the curry. Will definitely order from here again. Delivery was a little past the expected time but well worth the wait and I have enough left over for another meal so win, win. Very pleased.

The order was late. Messaged the restaurant and they said it was on its way. 30 minutes later I chased again and was told it was delayed and I wouldn’t be getting any refund. 10 minutes later they ring me to say it’s been delivered to the wrong house and they will be sending a replacement asap. An hour and a half later my food finally turns up. Over 3 hours late. No discount or money off. Nothing. Poor service from a restaurant I have used many times in the past

I would not use them again. Food was almost 2 hours late saying the restaurant was busy! Then when food arrived it was cold and undercooked

Disappointed, 1st time we visited this restaurant and although the decor was pleasant the food was very Bland. It wasn't a problem having to wait for the table service as it was clear they were understaffed, tables were left uncleared although people had left 20 minutes earlier. Chicken tika starter was tasteless and my main course Bland and tasted the same as my husband's although he ordered a totally different dish, as frequently visiting Indian restaurants around shrewsbury, we left and still the table had not been cleared of our main courses. This one place we will not return to.

We went for dinner at about 6.30pm and everything was far above our expectations. The exterior is very deceptive. Don't be put off by the rather run-down car park. The interior is modern, stylish and a big contrast to the outside. Service was great, food lovely and the portions generous. What a find. We will return 👍

Fresh, hot food delivered quickly. These guys make the best Naan bread in town! Food came piping hot and cooked to order. Very delicious and cooked beautifully.

They should never deliver to villages and pay only £5 to driver who has to travel miles for a round trip. Food mediocre and not warm on arrival

Delivery order here. The food was hot and amazing, really tasty. However, the delivery was 30 minutes late, and the delivery driver was rude and kept complaining about how far the journey was, not very professional. This made me reconsider ordering again.

Ordered an left it an hour an a half before ringing to be told the order is on its way for it to take almost another 20 minutes, i wouldnt mind but the restaurant is less than a mile from my house and i can walk it in less than 10 minutes, so they had not even done anything about my order until i rang to find out what was going on. I asked the driver if he got lost to the reply of no and a confused look, then asked why its took 20 minutes when being told food was on it's way, he just walked off which i found quite rude, no apologies for it being so late either.

Converted pub. Smart India restaurant with a good bar. Lots of parking and week day offers that look great value. Main event is the food. Absolutely excellent. So eat in, take away or delivery you won't go wrong. Phone or app to order.
