Disgusting food, disgusting people, wouldn’t recommend to anybody, steer clear, if I could give less than 1 star I would

Can I order a chicken balti, a nan bread AND A 12 YEAR OLD...knock, knock the national police are coming for you.oh half of you have legged it back to Pakistan... Why run away ?

to be told your food is going to be half hour apon order, then wait another half hour after collection time given is an insult, oh and its 'cash only' these days 🙄

Staying at a campsite close by, ordered a takeaway for delivery, all of our meals were delicious, outstanding food and service at a very reasonable price. Well recommended.

We moved to Wem in March and started going here for a curry twice a week because our new house had no working kitchen. Four months later our new kitchen is in and we are still going twice a week it’s that good. The food is tasty, staff are very friendly and it’s really reasonably priced. It always seems busy especially at the weekend. 5*.

Place was freezing food was over spiced waited over an hour for main meal would of understood if busy but only 4 people in including me and my wife the guy who served us was in civies not very professional

First time I have been to the Shabab. First thing was it was pretty cold in the restaurant (late October), we ahd to keep our coats on. If they want to operate as a take away they should just do that. Pops were not fresh cooked (cold) or not cooked poperly they were quite flexible chewy to eat, on the other hand my wifes starter was pretty crispy and it shouldn't have been, main courses were OK, good portion size. Not sure I would give it another go. We may have hit the restaurant on an "off night", as it has a pretty good review rating. The staff were friendly but the service was really slow.

Visit here every weekend for my usual mixed kebab start with keema rice the guys are the best always take time to have a little chat the food is the best I’ve ever tasted and I have ate in some Indian restaurants but no longer go to them I drive from Liverpool just for the experience the prices are very reasonable you now I can text all night but believe me once you have been you will be doing the same as me every weekends Times are hard at the moment so we need to be looking out for price and the quality and these guys have it in abundance food prices are excellent so give them a try 5*****

The food was not very good at all, from the very start to the very end - the owner needs to rectify this in person as his current staff are mediocre at best.

Not the best dining experience I've ever had, cold restaurant lack lustre service poor atmosphere ok food but it was mid week in January....will go back at a peak time and re assess the joint. Give the benefit of the doubt.

Called for a curry while camping nearby. Husband is a big curry fan. We had a starter, poppadoms, two curries, chips and nann plus two large Cobras The chicken tikka balti with spinach was amazing. The bowl was emptied and up there with the finest my husband had had. Whole bill was under £35 and service was very friendly - the grandson of the gentleman who owned the restaurant Would definitely recommend trying this one out

Awful experience. Before placing our order, we double checked they'd deliver to where we were, to which they said yes. We ordered a meal for 8 adults & were told it would take up to 45mins to arrive. When an hour had passed, we called the restaurant & were repeatedly lied to about the driver "just got in the car" & then "just around the corner". We spoke with the delivery driver on the phone to make sure she wasn't lost, she seemed to find the situation hilarious which was absolutely infuriating. The meal ended up being 2 & a half hours late, when delivered it was still hot, so the restaurant had completely lied to us about when it left them too. I would warn anyone from ordering from here. The food was absolutely average, wait time was shocking & the attitudes of the staff & driver were disgusting. This was on a Wednesday night so I dread to think what the service would be like on a busy night.

Since moving to the local area a few months ago we've ordered takeout / collection from Shabab four times. The food is hands-down the best takeout food we've ever had - the korma is deliciously creamy, the pastry on the samosas is crumbly and crunchy, and the portions are huge. We've had the food delivered twice and it arrived quickly (despite our house being difficult to find in the dark), and the other two times we arranged for collection and only had to wait a few minutes on arrival for the food to be packaged up. The staff have always been incredibly friendly and polite. I've never been a huge fan of curries, but after having this for the first time I actually started to crave them - it's definitely our takeout of choice!

The food was amazing I order takeaways and I was a lovely surprise of the amount of food. The lamb was so soft and chicken tika both very tasty. Definitely, I will recommend the place also can't wait to come to visit the restaurant. My order was Set Meal For 2 😍

Great food. obviously right now it's practically empty if you eat in so there's no real atmosphere, but during covid they are doing pick ups and delivery.

Food was delivered 10 minutes early, it was hot , they made me a paneer tikka masala as I don't eat meat and it was delicious, very nice polite delivery man , very full very satisfied, will definitely use again ♥️👍😁

We have just moved to Wem, and during the storm, we decided to run in and grab a quick takeaway on our way home. We love our curries once a week, so we were hoping our local would be a good one. We met Armed, who greeted us and welcomed us to Wem. Very friendly, and to be honest from the start of ordering a takeaway, I knew this place would be fantastic customer service. What a host! So that's us once a week in here enjoying an amazing curry. And at the same time feel comfortable and welcomed. Nice furnishings, lighting and unlike some curry restaurants in Shrewsbury its actually warm and cozy. Food is 5* and great value. It has it all for us. Great for locals, and the surrounding areas. Plus he did tell us it's been open for more then 24 years. So that's says it all. Thank you to the staff at Shabab in Wem.

Very good authentic tasting food. Good sized portions. None of that fancy stuff you get in a lot of Indian restaurants nowadays. Service was excellent. Very enjoyable.

I had waited 1 hour for my main meal at this Indian restaurant. And by the time the food had arrived, it was only small portion! People coming in for a takeaway were getting their food in minutes. Ridiculous service, not even cleaning tables! McDonald's provides better table service than this "supposed" Best Indian in Shropshire.

Very poor service, they were constantly on their phones. On several occasions I had to ask them to clear away things off the table as there was just no room to put anything else, we also had to ask for drink refills as we were not approached. On placing the food on the table the things that they brought the dishes on where filthy dirty, I didnt really want to eat because of this but we had waited an hour already for the food to get there. Also at no point during our meal were we asked if everything was ok, if we were I would of said something. We will not be going in this restaurant again.

The food is excellent, my wife and I have been going to the Shabab for almost 25 years and find to food difficult to beat.

Recently moved to Wem so visited Shabab for the first time. We were shown to our table. The tablecloth was not as clean as you would expect with dried curry stains. A very polite waitress brought us a menu and took our drink order. After about 5 mins we placed our order. Our popadoms arrived and the chutneys arrived and they looked like they had been recycled over and over because the dishes they were in were disgusting covered in what can only be described as chutney that had spilled over the dish and not been cleaned for days. As soon as we saw this we called over the waitress, showed her and requested our order to be cancelled as we would leaving immediately. Who knows the state of the kitchen after seeing this. The waiter then came over and asked what was wrong, so I explained and didn't get an apology from him. I would like to add that the waitress was very genuinely apologetic. After all this we were still charged for the drink!! We walked out and went across the road to another Indian Restaurant called Junoon which was absolutely exquisite and a class above by far. I would totally recommend that if you want an Indian meal in Wem sit down or take away you stay well clear of this establishment. This review has only got 1 star as it would not post unless a star rating was chosen.

Shabab was recommended to us so we thought we would try it out. We weren't disappointed! Fab, Fab food. Exceptional hospitality from Zac and his team. Very welcoming from the minute we walked through the door. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, tasty and plenty of it too. Thanks for a great night. Definitely be back!

Great value for money food. My korma dish wasn't your usual tonne of sauce without any substance which was good For a Saturday night I felt that the ambiance was a little lacking but other than that I'd totally recommend. We were a table of 2 and out bill came to under £30 (including a beer each).

Went on Friday night with family group of seven. Table booked for 7.45. Few other diners in, but not very busy. Had poppadoms to start, dips and relish were bland. Main courses were ok, veg curry was watery and tasteless. Waiter was pleasant but service terribly slow. I'm told the ladies loo needs some attention. All in all an ok meal for not a lot of money.

We happened upon this great place by coincidence (the nearest pub to our inn would not serve my 11 year old son). I am very happy that we visited, because this is our only night in Shrewsbury on this trip. And Shabab Balti was a fantastic find. Everything was delicious!We had vegetable samosas, spicy poppadums, onion bahjee, and the butter onion tika masala chicken to share. We enjoyed everything, and would definitely come back if we had the chance, and bring our family and friends.The chef came out several times, including after our meal to offer ice cream to my son, on the house. It is a lovely atmosphere, very family friendly. Don't miss it, if you are in town!

Being served by a waiter who wanders around with his hands in his pockets most of the time is weird, however, it was the poor food quality that ruined the meal. Chicken Tikka Ginger Masala and the King Prawn Tikka were vivid red (scarily red) and not the greatest. Apart from 2 other clientele the place was empty. Won't be going back.

Great quality fresh herbs and food I have veg dryish Balti lots of fresh ginger and garlic. Never had a bad meal. Staff very pleasant.

My fiancé & I stopped in for a curry after attending the annual fireworks at Lower Lacon. We had a great meal, loved the decor and thought it was good value for money. We were the only guests in the restaurant, then one other group of three arrived. Such a shame this place does not get more business.

Came on a Monday evening for the set price 4 course menu. Great value meal and excellent quality. £8.95 for poppadoms, starter, main course and either rice or nan bread. Staff were OK but happy to help to explain what each of the meals were like. Not fast service but was good for our group as we were not in a rush. Food definitely cooked to order and tasted great. Well worth a visit when in Wem.

After a day boozing called in on a sunday night for a eat in meal. Couldn't fault the food or the staff, really good standard of food and reasonably priced. Also had numerous takeaways and have all been really nice.

Had another good meal, portions are good and staff helpful if you want items not on the menu. Drinks prices are reasonable

Casi siempre tienen pollo Korma cuando comer fuera en un restaurante indio. Como es previsible que nunca pedí pollo Korma! Este fue un pollo Korma, con una diferencia, no era picante, pero no tienen una patada y el mejor pollo Korma he tenido!

Had the four course meal fir £9, great value. Poppadoms, starter and then a main with either rice, chips or naan. I had the Garlic Chicken,very nice with naan bread. Staff very friendly and you get take your own drink.

Me parece que la mantequilla Pollo que es mi comida favorito pueden variar mucho de un restaurante a otro, pero este es tan deliciosos y muy recomendable.

La comida era realmente buena, con ingredientes frescos. La decoración no es el mejor 50 tonos de rojo, pero la comida hecha para eso. Amigos vegetarianos también le encantó.

Incapaz de llegar a casa a tiempo antes de nuestros restaurantes locales cerrados, decidimos probar uno en Wem donde tuvimos una cita temprano por la noche. Vimos el Shabab Balti en la calle alta es bastante fácil, pero tenía que hacer un par de círculo hasta encontrar un lugar de aparcamiento a unos 100 m de distancia. El interior era cómoda aunque un poco pasado de moda pero nada que reclamar. Un cruce entre la casita de madera con papel pintado restaurantes de una manada de 1970. No se puede superar la nostalgia!

5 of us went for a family meal last night and had a wonderful time. It was very busy with a good atmosphere so we had to wait 5 mins for a table to become free and prepared ready for us. After ordering, poppadoms came very quickly so we were able to nibble those and chat while starters were being prepared. Main courses were ready just a few mins after we had finished our starters. Everything was fresh, hot, well presented and beautifully tasty. Staff could not do enough for us and we'll go back as soon as possible!

Came here with some friends for dinner at 1800 on a week day. There was no one else in the restaurant when we arrived yet the time it took for our food to arrive was atrocious. We had to ask several times for our food and asked the one lone waiter several times if he could clear away the empties and the wine glasses that no one was using so we have more space. We had to ask for the bill over and over again and then the card machine wouldn't work so half the group had to disappear and find a cash machine. A quick curry took 3 hours. Unbelievable. Shame, because the food was quite good.

Called in saturday night with my friend placed our order and told them we would pick up in 45 mins whilst we had a quick pint and game of pool in the village. We called back in picked up our food had a bottle of beer each and had a bit of banter with the staff all of them were nice guys .Also the restaurant has had a makeover looks cool,look forward to seeing you all on 2nd december for birthday party/meal oh forgot to mention the food was tremendous 5+++++

I ordered a take away fir delivery this evening after a long day and absolutely shattered. I was told at 6.50 it would take 40 mins to 1hr 10. I called back at 8.10, I was told the driver had just left. Called back at 8.40 to be told it would be with me shortly, however I asked for a specific time, they admitted the driver had not left, they knocked £4 off the price, it took a further 10 minutes. 2 hours is ridiculous, they stated they were busy, well shabab if you are so busy you cannot cope stop taking orders!!! On previous occasions, always and I mean every time something missing from the order and when collected it takes at least 20 minutes longer than the time given when phoned through

Good value tasty food. The waiter was entertaining and informative about the menu. If you want an Indian meal in Wem give it a go.

We ate here last night as a couple. I had Malayan Curry which was really tasty and my husband had Chicken Balti which was also excellent. The staff were very pleasant and obliging. A lovely evening.
