The Staff at The Olive Branch always have a smile and they are volunteers. Nothing is too much trouble and they always make us feel welcome. The Homemade Cakes look delicious and the large Cheese Scones are always eaten by my friends. In the colder weather my friends usually have their soup and I always see someone in there eating a Full English Breakfast at lunchtime.

As I am home working for 3 days of the week I have started treating myself to the odd lunch out. I had previously taken the family here for half term lunch so thought I would have a solo visit and wasn't disappointed. Had the Brixworth Breakfast washed down with a mug of piping hot tea, and cracked on with some work, only interrupted by some friendly banter from the other diners and the waiting staff (Allan doing a great comedy turn). Definitely worth it!

Tried the Olive Branch again today after I gave it a less than complimentary review following my last visit. This time I found it a brilliant place to have breakfast. Cafe was spotlessly clean, staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and great value for money. I will definitely visit again and can now highly recommend it.

If I could give a 0 star I would. Went there for breakfast just after they opened, I was the only one inside although there was an occupied table outside, however I was the very first to order. Just after me lots more people trickled in and ordered. They were all served promptly whilst I just sat there. After half an hour I decided to leave, the staff apologised for the delay but by then it was too late and I left. I wonder if they have “favoured” clients who get immediate service before the rest of us. If so, not a very nice thing for a church cafe to be doing.

The olive branch is a non profit organisation and a very good cafe. They sell good quality food like all English breakfasts for low prices.

This cafe is inside a community and library building. The breakfasts and lunch offer excellent value for money and the service is friendly and offers excellent disabled facilities.

I was visiting the area for the week, so had the pleasure of visiting this cafe twice. Both times my intention was to have something healthy, but the cakes looked too nice to resist. The cafe is run by a group of cheery volunteers and really are an asset to the community. The prices are very reasonable-tea and cake for £2.50. They also serve all day breakfast, salads, light snacks such as jacket potatoes, panini, cheese on toast etc -all at very good prices. I noticed a sign to say they cater for people with allergies as well. I would say it is a pity they don’t open some evenings and perhaps do theme nights. I am sure it would be very popular. A real asset.

A lovely little cafe run by volunteers who are friendly and welcoming. I popped in for a pot of tea and was offered a free biscuit! There is free wifi (if you can access it!) Although, I didn't eat this time, I'll definitely come back to try the delicious looking cakes!

After taking the kids to the Library we decided to have a light lunch at the adjacent coffee shop. The staff were in a wonderful mood and made my kids and us immediately welcome. We ordered tea cakes for the kids, and jacket potatoes for us. When the jackets arrived the lady apologised that as it was late on they might be overdone for some tastes and hence had given us extra different portions in case. She need not have bothered, though the thoughtful gesture was appreciated. The jackets actually had a crunchy skin on them which was WONDERFUL, I am sick of the shops that just bung them in a microwave. We then had a cake, and there was a really good selection. I lost most of it to my 4 year old, but we both agreed it was lovely. The price was amazing value for money, it think it was £16 for the four of us to have lunch, tea, and cake. We are blessed to have this in the village. Will definitely return.

We were passing and decided to pop in and have a quick coffee, but the homemade chocolate cake was way to tempting, so 2 coffees, 2 large slices of cake at an icredible value, lovely people, we will be back.

The best Moules a la Creme outside Brussels but for one thing, it was described as Moules Mariniere which it most definitely wasn,t. But the mussels were big, juicy, succulent in a cream sauce to die for. Pity the Chicken Kiev had no garlic butter AT ALL. And when I asked to talk to the chef to congratulate him on his mussels he never came - the difference between a family resturant and a commercial one. What a pity.

Had a great Sunday Lunch with my husband on Sunday 3rd November 24. The white wine was also very nice and chilled in nice tall stem glass. Lovely tasty meat, I had the pork and my husband had the chicken very good thank you.

Small party (5 of us) went for our Christmas lunch. Starter was very small. I had the ham hock terrine which should have had Christmas chutney(?) but came with piccalilli. It was nice but 2 small pieces of pitta bread seemed a bit mean. Mains came out and the plates were very cold. The food was tepid and the gravy was also very cold. These were sent back and we were assured fresh meals were being prepared. The mains came out on hot plates and the food was hot. Not entirely certain they hadn't just been microwaved. Desserts were nice enough but nothing to make you say wow. Overall disappointing meal for something that should have been enjoyable. Portions were very small considering the price of the Christmas menu. Background music was too loud.
