Shall but cosy very pleasant local pub.

Had 2 beef roasts, £17 each and so disappointing.

Last time I visited the pub had become a Big Smoke House. When my mates set me up a pint of London Pride as I arrived by train I realised that there had been a change. Great pint in this classic old style English pub. We'll be back!

I’m dying after a work night out, the barman (from Brum) let me in, served me a great pint of Guinness that flew down my neck. He then sorted me a shot of my choice after hearing that I had a 3 hour journey ahead of me. Excellent service the guy is an absolute ‘G’

I recently had the opportunity to visit a local pub for a Christmas dinner, and overall, it was a decent experience. One aspect that stood out to me was the incredibly helpful and friendly staff. One of the highlights of the pub was the affordable pricing. The room area where the Christmas dinner was held had a nice atmosphere and was reasonably priced. It was a great value for the quality of food and service provided. Additionally, the pub had a spacious and beautiful garden area. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a large outdoor space, especially during the holiday season. It provided a great opportunity to take a stroll and enjoy the fresh air. Speaking of the food, the Sunday roast served for the Christmas dinner was satisfactory. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were acceptable. While it may not have been the most outstanding meal I've had, it was still enjoyable, and the staff ensured that everyone's dietary needs were accommodated. One minor drawback was that the room where the dinner was held was a bit cold. However, it was still within an acceptable range, and the presence of a big TV with Netflix and YouTube helped to keep the kids entertained. Overall, my experience at the pub for the Christmas dinner was not too bad. The helpful and friendly staff, good selection of beers, affordable pricing, and the presence of a big and nice garden area were definite highlights. While the food was satisfactory, the room temperature could have been improved. Nevertheless, it was still a pleasant evening spent with family and friends.

Contacted our favorite local pub for a last-minute Christmas gathering with 20 people, including kids. Remarkably accommodating, they swiftly arranged a festive setting, catering to both adults and children. The impromptu reservation turned out to be a fantastic holiday celebration – great service, ample space, and a joyful atmosphere. Highly recommended for spontaneous festivities! ❤️

We are so pleased that we decided to host our baptism reception at The Old Wheatsheaf. The decor of the pub is now stunning, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food delicious, the function room fantastic and we couldn’t have been happier with how smoothly things were run on the day by Duane and his team. We felt really listened to and supported and as a result we and our guests have nothing but great things to say and fantastic memories to look back on. Thank you so much!! We will be back and look forward to a Sunday roast soon - such a lovely vibe throughout the pub in general and a fantastic setting. (Chuffed with how flexible and accommodating the team were on the day too, as things never go militantly to plan but Duane and his team flexed accordingly).

We booked for lunch but no one advised us that they had a function so no food was served!

Group of four on a Thursday night and only ones in the pub section. Food was of poor quality and we had to send the fish back. No one finished their meals. Not sure what had happened but really gone down hill. Only a couple of tables full in the garden. Poor service and food quality. Sad as this used to be a wee gem of a place.

Brilliant service and some of the best fish and chips in all of Enfield. Great garden with toys to keep the dogs entertained. The inside is cosy, welcoming, and just has that great pub feel. Well worth making a visit to!

Surprisingly big garden for what looks like a small quaint pub from the outside. It was super busy on our visit and they could have done with more staff serving behind the bar, but at least the staff were friendly. Would go again.

Had a lovely visit. Staff were friendly, polite and quick for service. We sat out in the garden as weather good for it. Lovely wooden huts to die in or under the covered area for smokers. I liked the pub split into 2 sections so quiet area to have a pint and work. Defo returning.

Coming from Enfield Chase station I came passed the front of the pub today 5:40pm 18th May 2023.The cellar doors were fully open on the pavement totally unguarded/unsigned and no sign of anyone about This is very dangerous as the doors extend over half of the pavement. It would be extremely dangerous for a blind person. Please guard the entrance when open at all times!

Nice old pub, lots of character and great beer garden. Drinks, especially draught craft beers are a bit expensive for zone 5. I've been a couple of times since moving to the area. Staff friendly enough but ushered to drink up after last orders and wasn't exactly drinking at a snails pace last time I went. Don't serve people unless you allow at least 45 minutes to have your pint (which cost £6.80.!)

Great Burger Monday + tipple deal. Tasty burgers both chicken and beef options. Fab chips.

Ok Pub, decorated recently, not a good move. They have 20 or 30 beer, cider, whatever taps, but only one bitter!! Harveys which excellent. I met some mates there a few months ago; Harveys was off, no other bitters on, so had to drink cider. How the world of beer has changed, mango, strawberry flavoured beers but only one bitter!!

Nice pub with relatively cheap drinks but staff seriously need some allergen training. Bar staff and chef (?!) didn’t seem to know the definition of gluten. Fine if the pub can’t cater to coeliacs but the staff need to know that. Felt very unsafe eating there and singled out from my group

What a shame,this place has gone downhill whereas the prices have gone up.However it's not the prices that gets it two stars,the staff are unprofessional and wouldn't get a job in a good pub.They used to have a good selection of real ales,last night,none, unbelievable.Plenty of "trendy"keg beers,not my cup of tea.Shame this pub is well placed to attract people getting off the train,needs to be run by a professional,not amateurs.

Refurbished within last couple of years. Ok for pre drinks before a meal out, but seems to lack any atmosphere, although our visit was early in the evening, so it may have livened up later. Bar staff are polite and friendly.

Stopped here for a quick drink. Lively atmosphere, pleasant barman ,the ideal place....not too quiet, not too noisy.

It’s bigger inside when outside

Lovely function room separate from the pub but service was a bit slow due to the pub full with people watching the World Cup Final! The food was good but vegetables in the main course were hard especially the sprouts!!

Nice pub, good outdoor space, service for drinks a bit slow, but really nice staff. Hopefully it will get an app or something to help them organise a little better, but that won't stop me going back, will just have to be patient 😊. Garden is covered fully like a big top, so great for those who feel more comfortable outside. App is back for table orders 👍

I haven't been in years but returned on Saturday for drinks only. I have to say that the place looks lovely. The customers are much younger compared to previous years. The garden is great, plus I bet it'll be nice in the winter as they have loads of heaters! They have a very large selection of alcohol that is on tap, plus various spirits. The staff were super friendly and always tried to help. I didn't try the food, but it does look nice so I'll give it ago next time I'm down.

We went for lunch here and it was excellent. Had roast dinners which were a decent size and delicious. The puddings were yummy too. Lovely air con thankfully in the heat and the staff were very pleasant!

Best vegan roast dinner I've had so far and I've had alot of them around london. The only thing I would say is please try and make vegan Yorkshire puddings, it's not that hard and this would make it a 10/10 . Lets talk about dessert...there wasn't any.... Come on guys you cant pull that roast out the bag and not have a vegan dessert, not saying it has to be a chocolate brownie or cheesecake would settle for ice cream.

First time in there absolutely packed but the service was excellent waited no more than 15 minutes food was good pub grub burgers or pizzas I understand there may be other dishes the seating was amazing little cubicles . a very nice evening

Nice pub, only stopped for a couple, but the staff were friendly. New manager seemed to know what he was taking about and took the time to talk about the beers. Didn't eat, but the food looked good. Will definitely have a return visit.

Great selection of ales and keg beers

Lovely pub 2 minutes walk for Enfield Chase train station. Has a large outside patio. Serves lot's of cask and keg beers. On Monday's and Tuesdays all cask beers are 3 pounds a pint. Staff are welcoming with a good menu, l am told the pizza's are particularly good.

I've given it 4 stars because it is what it is. A decent pub with great smiley staff and a good selection of drinks. Having never been in an "old smoke" pub before so not knowing what ale to try, they were more than happy to give me a taster from every single ale so I could choose. The only reason I never gave 5 stars was the food side. It was an UTTER nightmare and the warning signs were there before we even ordered. Virtually every plate that came out to other tables was either wrong or went to the wrong table. There seemed to be no organisation whatsoever. You had to order what you wanted at the bar and give a table number, so how can you be taking it to the wrong table. The meat sharing platter for £21 wasn't very big. In fact I could quite have easily eaten it all myself. The salt and pepper squid wasn't cooked correctly as the coating was soggy and the squid very chewy. We neve got any plates..... Even though we asked for them so we're just picking off the sharing platter. Items were missing and had to be asked for. That being said, if you want a decent pub with a decent drink and atmosphere then give it a go. It should just stick to drink in my opinion or have a serious sort out in the kitchen.

Cracking pub right by Enfield Chase station. Lots of handpump real ales and craft beers on tap. Lovely garden area as well. Friendly staff, I had a great night there the other day, food was delicious too 👍🏻🍻

Nice pub, good ales. But the food was mediocre- we ordered Classic Burgers and they were burnt on one side and small- the bun outsized the burger by a lot. Small portion of fries, no salad garnish. Will go there for drinks again, but not food.

Overpriced homeade beer, average food. £6.70 a pint. I asked for a pint of Tribute and was served a pint of porridge.

Noiseist pub I've ever been in.

Now my favourite pub in Enfield. We booked one of huts in the garden, which we fitted 6 of us in easily. Great choice of beers and guns, sun was shining and no queue at ghe bar. Was around a great evening. Will be back soon.

If you are apasionante about siders, beer, or similar you need to visit the pub! The put music in live but I don't know if this is happen every weekend or not! The pub has a big garden to enjoy your drink whit a cigarette lisent live music! Definitely I recomend this pub! Only bad think is not has parking but always you can found some available parking in the street!

went for lunch with my wife and two daughters easter monday .First we had the nachos to share which were really good then the rest of the food went rapidly downhill, my wife and daughter ordered margherita sourdough pizza's tomato, basil and buffalo mozarella flavour they were nothing like the description , no buffalo mozarella., no basil looked like any frozen cheese abd tomato pizzas , my fish and chips arrived the batter on the fish was very thick and raw inside like fish wrapped in a giant pancake , my youngest recieved mac and cheese instead of tomato and cheese pasta even though it was not on the menu got a refund for the fish and pasta if these pubs want to price food at restaurant prices fish was £17 then they need to employ chef's that know what they are doing!!!!!

Great pub and beer garden. Beautiful beer garden! The function room was small, however, very sweet and intimate! Carl the manager was absolutely fantastic! He went above and beyond to make our night great and special. George was brilliant too. Lovely pub and Staff.

Very nice pub, slightly out of the centre of town. Excellent selection of beers with friendly & knowledgeable staff - although a little expensive. Great live music on a Sunday evening.

Nicely refurbished bar slash tap room. Has two sides and a lovely outdoor area-one of the best I’ve seen in a long while! Nice little booths and lots of heaters! It’s covered over at the moment as it’s winter and rainy. Must make it back in the summer and see what it’s like then-hopefully the canopy is down to let the sunshine in!

Massive waiting time… We ordered two fries and they taked almost one hour to delivery it to table, when it arrived, just one came , we tried many time talk to them , the ladie was very rude , ignored us when we call her, and when we insisted she said : Two second I’m busy , and never came back again…

Nice selection of beer, including real ale. Pretty nice food, and it has a nice garden. Would reccommend.

Good choice of real ales but a bit pricey

So much potential! Renovated earlier this year with lovely outdoor booths and a good range of beer and food. When it first opened they did table service too, and the staff were friendly and efficient. But it has gone downhill - you're much less likely to find the food you want is "on", the quality seems to have gone down, they stopped the table service, and they seem hell-bent on reverting to the much more average pub it was before the renovation. Such a shame, I hope they can turn things around quickly as I'd love to be able to give this place five stars

Good pub let down by untrained staff. I have visited on several accusations and found the beer good but terrible service and dirty bar and tables.I sat at adirty table covered in drink and bits of food, I’ve not seen anybody clean the bar and empty glasses were left and not dealt with. I had to ask for a drink to a staff member who was drinking a cream coffee rather than serve a customer. I am also out off by staff sitting at tables and looking at laptops the pub should be for paying customers only.Am I wrong but they are supposed to be there for customers as we pay their wages ?

Excellent outside area - which made us feel comfortable and despite the cold weather the set up is amazing. We had drinks and food and the service and the food was delicious. Great value for money
