Hostile service and uncomfortable atmosphere. Average, overpriced food.

Visited here recently just for coffee and cake, it was so lovely I booked in for the afternoon tea event with my parents. what a delight...and feast, the cakes are amazing and the sandwiches had plenty of filling unlike other afternoon teas there were full size pieces of cake, edible flower muffins, scones and more. Lovely family run business.

Unacceptable service- took way too long - I’m not okay with waiting 30 minutes for 4 Drinks - the quiche tasted dry and unable to finish. Overall I am not impressed- I saw a Temu package and decided to search the cheap looking table mats on their and found the exact ones - I don’t come to a “tea room” to have cheap and unacceptable service. You only get take away food whereas I wanted a plate and actaul fork for my cake and not a take away cup for my tea- most tea rooms would have teapots to have about 3 mugs of tea yourself whereas I got something for one portion that I waited ages for. I don’t think this can even be called a tea room.

We came with friends today and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Delicious cakes and a wide variety of loose leaf teas. I had the “Bruce” cake and my wife had a floral and strawberry cake. Friends had the quiche with salad and a coronation chicken sandwich with crisps. Everything was freshly made and tasted delicious. It was very busy and there was a slight wait however it was totally worth it. Highly recommended.

LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is incredible and the service is brilliant. It does get very busy on event weekends and they switch to take away only as they get busy. The atmosphere is wonderful.

Best cafe I have been to. The food is homemade and the teas and coffees were beautiful.

The worst experience we have ever had in a cafe/tearoom. We were kicked out, a family of 4 adults, 4 children, including a 6 month old baby, for feeding the children food purchased at the event the house was holding. We had purchased food in the cafe for the adults, but the cafe didn't serve appropriate lunch food for our very young children. We were then kicked out very aggressively by the owner and her staff member. We were called disgusting and many other names, just because we were questioning why the rule was being adhered to in this situation. given the event, the weather and lack of seating out of the elements, and the sheer fact that we were only feeding our children, we had purchased drinks and food for the adults from the cafe. The event organiser is refunding us some of our tickets as they are seemingly disgusted with our experience too. We are still in shock, we have never had to experience a confrontation in a situation like this, it's just not usually in our nature. Ruined the only Easter experience we managed to book. Just if you're thinking of going, just don't.

Very friendly family run tea shop, we had a great afternoon tea with sarnies and cake galore. Everything home made and made fresh, lovely cakes and scones, delicious and proper leaf tea in a proper tea pot. Bliss! Also for those just looking to break their journey, it’s useful to know you can access the tea shop without paying for entry to the house/gardens.

We left it a bit late to get to the tea room but it was no trouble at all for the staff, service with a smile and a joke, perfect. Lovely big slab of cake to finish off a great afternoon in the gardens. If you're just passing you don't have to pay to enter the gardens to visit the tea parlour as it's just in the stable yard. Thank you

Had a time today at Holdenby House tea rooms. Enjoyed our lattes and the Strawberry and Rose and Lavender and Lemon cakes not only looked absolutely beautiful but tasted just as nice. Looking forward to a second visit and the afternoon tea looks lovely. Lovely, friendly staff, excellent service. Thanks Diane
