We found this cafe by fluke when driving by, it was 11:45 and the pub round the corner was shut, we noticed the sign on side of the road and drove in (lots of free parking) Staff were very polite and friendly and the cafe was very clean and tidy. Sausage score is 10/10 !! I do not give a 10/10 lightly however this was perfection. I would definitely come back to here again. Total price paid for Big Breakfast and regular breakfast along with Latte and hot chocolate was £28.80 WiFi is also available here as well. Bluelight card is not accepted if anyone was wondering.

Small cafe / Bistro in a small village Stanton by Dale. It's not a vast menu, but enough choice for us. Food is prepared to order, so it's not a place if you are in a hurry. Very friendly staff. There is only room inside for about 28 people, but there is seating outside. Also, this is a dog friendly Cafe. Worth a visit.

Can't fault the food or service. The pricing is significantly lower than some of the other venues in the surrounding villages. £23 for a Cheddar Ploughman's platter, Chilli & Rice, and two teas. I feel this would be pushing £30 elsewhere. It's all good.

We live in West Midlands & had a trip over to see my elderly mother & we had a little trip out to see what these tea rooms were like ( she likes a nice tea room as being elderly can't eat big meals ) it didn't disappoint us we had a lovely light lunch & pleasant service - really recommend this place 👍😋

Great service & great food, not busy today(Monday) Update:Visited bank holiday Monday, just had to wait about 5 minutes for a table so much busier than last time. Service slightly slower but the food was still good. Menu updated with a specials board

This little lovely place is perfect it’s just hidden away, which is quite cute it has really nice food and excellent staff who are really helpful and kind definitely will be coming back again and my home made lemon drizzle was a delicious

The staff are friendly and the food and drink is good but a little limited. Outside seating is in the car park. The countryside around is very pretty and the village is lovely. Good walks nearby and two reasonable pubs in the village to chose from, as an alternative.

Cleanliness to a good standard. Like the atmosphere. Staff are pleasant and obliging. Pricing is competitive. Parking good as is access should you find walking a challenge. Had sourdough toast, bacon and, scrambled egg. Bacon in particular was delicious but all prepared to perfection for me. Coffee to barista standard. Good range of milk and milk equivalents.

Great breakfast with good quality items, even sour dough bread. Loads of choice, coffee was great too. staff were very friendly, atmosphere is good. Tucked away in a old school house but a great find will defiantely be back.

A massive thank you Cat, Rachel and the team for putting on a fabulous afternoon tea for our daughter Ella and the adults. The cosy area for the six girls gave them the grown up private party feel for the new teenagers and the presentation of the food, the beautiful freshly home made scones and cakes and especially the "champagne" (lemonade) with a strawberry was all absolutely perfect.....they all thoroughly enjoyed it. The six adults including picky elder relatives loved it too and couldn't stop talking about the lovely sandwiches, tea, scones and cakes. We'd highly recommend the Old Schoolhouse for anyone wanting great food and to be well looked after by passionate people. Thanks 🙏

Nice village but bad location with carpark right next to outside eating area. Poor service, ordered cake and coffee deal, but only the cakes came out......how can you get that wrong!!!

Was visiting the area today and popped in for breakfast. Very glad we did. I had a lovely scrambled egg & smoked salmon on bagel & my husband said the sausage on his breakfast bap was lovely. Staff were very friendly and we could take our dog in too. 👍🏻👍🏻

Lovely little setting. We sat outside as the weather was good. Jubilee trifle and a beer. Very tasty. The other cakes looked good. Friendly service and dog friendly. Seems a popular place and one we would use again.

Visited one lunchtime with my mum, we had a lovely time, booking advised for groups as there is limited space inside. Food was delicious and well presented and they had a great selection of drinks and cakes. Both of us have intolerances to food, the staff went above and beyond to share the ingredients of their tomato chutney, which wasn't suitable so they swapped it for fresh tomato.

First time here today and won't be the last. Busy place but such a lovely setting with really nice staff. I had the Crayfish salad and it didn't disappoint, absolutely loved it. Look forward to coming again.

In my opinion the best and most friendly cafe/deli in the area . Nothing is any trouble for the staff and the atmosphere is joyous , A hidden gem.

The seats were comfortable the coffee was absolutely atrocious it was that bad I could not finish it and the person I was with thought the same " under new management " mind how you go.

Very good choice of drinks, snacks and treats here. Service is fairly good and it's an attractive cafe inside. Outside seating is plentiful and faces onto the car park but it's small and quiet enough but to be a problem. Not the cheapest but the quality is high.

First time visit and we loved it. Will definitely be going back.

Delicious quaint deli cafe the food selection was extensive and the home made cakes all looked delicious. Very friendly staff and we're happy to speed our order up as we were in a rush. Plenty of off road parking and indoor and outdoor seating. Would recommend and will definitely return.

I find this to be very expensive for what you get. I have no issue paying high prices for high quality but whilst the food here is perfectly fine, it is, in essence, still cafe food but at restaurant prices.

Had a lovely evening at the school house ,lovely food ( tapas ) great staff nothing to much trouble for them. Can recommend very highly .

Decent food, although mildly over-priced. I would like to try in the summer as I imagine that it would pair nicely with a hazy mazy walk between Stanton and Dale Abbey. The deli side of things seemed a little thin but perhaps that was again the time of year. I will definitely be back to have another go.

I had a very happy family when we pulled off the motorway to go here. Good cooking, buzzy atmosphere, snug with good service.

A nice place to visit and very popular. Managed to get one of the last parking spaces then saw quite a few people drive away as they couldn't park. I will go back but not at 12:30 as it's quite a way to drive and not be able to park.

Nice little coffee shop in a gorgeous small village. Friendly staff and a nice selection of coffee and cakes. Cooked breakfast options looked very nice, will have to try sometime. Parking and seating is limited, but seating outside as well though. We'll worth stopping by.

Great little hidden gem of a place. Lovely food at reasonable prices. All homemade. There is also a deli bar where you can buy artisanal produce. Must lastly mention that the pink crockery was appreciated by all in our party.
