Delicious afternoon tea, soft tasty sandwiches, cheese n biscuits, crisps, quiche, grapes, wonderful scones, muffins and victoria sponge and a bag to take the leftovers home. Great experience.

Dropped my daughter off for a teen tea party. Didn't stay myself but she said it was really nice there and we plan to do something there for a future birthday

A group of 21 of us came for afternoon tea here. The afternoon teas we ordered were for 3 people to share. A selection of sweet and savoury finger foods, we're arranged on little wooden picnic benches. We didn't have long wait before these were brought out to us all, so and they were presented really nicely. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and did really well keeping on top of all the orders. The only qualm we had was the music that was playing was so loud, so it was making everyone shout to be heard. Other than that it was still a good experience.

I can't comment on the food as I only had a coffee here but went for the first time today and I must say absolutely love this place friendly staff and loving the palm beach vibes will definitely visit again for food next time .

Took kiddies for an Easter lunch & they loved it. Us four adults had the cheese boards & wow 👌 it was all amazing, as usual 👏 😍. Thank you xx

Our daughter recently had her 30th/31st birthday party at Nenes. Amazing night & the food was exceptional. The staff really went the extra mile, so friendly and fun, keep doing what you’re doing!

We visited here recently with our daughter for afternoon tea. Everything was displayed beautifully, & tasted great, we even had enough to take home. We were the first ones to arrive on opening, so our daughter got the chance to have a run about, but by the time we left it was totally full, which shows how popular they are. I will definitely visit here in the future to try out some of there other foods available.

What an amazing venue we picked for our staff party. Everything was perfect. We had the sharing platter which looked and tasted amazing. The staff there were all such a pleasure and we felt so welcome. Thank you for looking after us x

This is our first visit to Nene's and I will definitely visit again. Little touches like decoration, food presentation and smiles from staff made it special. The food was quick to come out, hot and delicious. The special hot chocolate is definitely special. Yum. Thank you

A sympathetic venue for a former colleague's wake.

This is a very quirky place with excellent food. This is not what I expected in ilkeston and I am pleasantly surprised. I will be visiting again!

Group of 18 ladies from Curves Ilkeston came for lunch. Lisa and her daughter did us proud. Pre ordered prior to visit and food was served all at same time. Fantastic atmosphere and brilliant service 👏

1st visit, very polite friendly and attentive staff, warm and pleasant atmosphere. Had the homemade soup, it was delicious and a fair price. Look forward to visiting again.

Absolutely love visiting Nenes!!! Was the second time for me today. First time for a birthday gathering and today for a girly catch up. Nene, Lisa, Beth and staff can't do enough for you. Very welcomed and amazing service even when run off their feet as it's so busy!!! Yummy food and delicious cocktails presented beautifully. I went today with my 2 daughters and baby granddaughter, it was our first visit and we had the afternoon tea. It is such a lovely place, beautiful decor, tasty food, really nice friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again soon 😁

Was actually a bit disappointed by this place. The decor is lovely. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t have any. But the cocktails were really poor. They tasted like they came out of a can or a bottle and was extremely sweet. Neither myself or my friends saw or heard any cocktail shakers so we’re pretty sure they’re will just cheap ready made ‘cocktails’. We was also disappointed to not get welcomed as we arrived and also had to wait a long time to get the drinks menu.

The food was nice and good value. The staff were friendly however the overall experience was poor unfortunately. We booked for a teens afternoon tea for our daughter and her friends. We booked well in advance and were told that we were the only ones booked in for that date at the time. A week before we got a call asking if we could change our booking because they had another booking of 20 and this group wanted to add another 10 people to their booking. We tried to speak to a few of the parents but it was too difficult to change our time and so we spoke to Nene's and told them we couldn't change. They said it was absolutely fine and as we had booked first she would tell them that they couldn't add the extra people and that they had to come earlier and leave earlier so that it would not be too busy for us. When we arrived the whole place was set up for a baby shower and had 25 people in their group, our group was 13, there were 4 staff and we were told the room max occupancy was 32. It was very loud overall as there so many people in a small place. The staff could tell that we were not best pleased and told us that the baby shower would be finished early for us to have some photos. Some of our daughters friends were anxious by the amount of people in the room too and found it too noisy to hear what each other were saying. The baby shower did not finish early as we were told it would and we had to ask to be able to take photos and use the swing. This was ackward as it meant moving the baby shower group from their tables and so we had to take our photos right in the middle of their group. We were just disappointed after so many positive reviews and our daughter having been to a party there previously. If we had been second to book and that it was explained to us beforehand we would have chosen a different date, however, as we were told we had booked first and they were not taking on the extra people for the baby shower we thought it would have been okay. They are moving to a new venue that can hold up to 70 people so hopefully we will get to experience Nene's kitchen again and next time be an improvement.

The afternoon tea was delicious and great value for money. Im so used to Manchester prices but this was so good i would visit again The service was warm and friendly and the way the food was presented was so lovely. Well done x

Around the back and on top of the little acorn.i found the stairs quite steep Booking in advance is essential. We ordered a sharing platter which was very nicely presented. Brie and other cheeses. Lots of grapes too. I had a muffin which was nice as had toffee sauce in .

Best afternoon tea loads of food beautifully presented . friendly staff very welcoming . Give this place a try you won't regret it .
