We visited this delightful café this afternoon. We'd been to Wyecoller for old times sake, 45 miles from home and in need of food. Just happened to see a board on a post, CAFE ( arrow ) this way. Off we went and let upon Jackie & Francesca's. What a lovely place to find just out of the blue. Extensive menu reasonably priced. Very nice friendly staff. The food we had was very nice indeed, had to try a slice of cake too. Well definitely call again when we venture over the border and certainly recommend to our family n friends. Thankyou

What a fantastic cafe! We were in the area & searched online for a somewhere for lunch. The Old Rock Cafe was great. The menu had a good choice for lunch - sandwiches, hot sandwiches, baked potatoes, soup and we both opted for the quiche. It was a hearty portion and came with some salad & coleslaw. We just had to have a piece of cake as they looked so appealing. They didn't disappoint; my partner was particularly impressed that the carrot cake came with a cream cheese frosting. Highly recommended.

Francesca and Jackie always make customers so welcome and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The coffee is really excellent and there is always a tempting range of cakes. Everything we have tried from the menu on our frequent visits has been great and it's clear how much care Francesca and Jackie put into this great cafe.

Fantastic home cooked food, we walked over from home to have a cooked breakfast, 2 breakfasts, 2 orange juices and 2 coffees, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was perfect. The cafe is a real asset to the village, highly recommend. Oh we also bought some of the delicious cakes to take home with us.

Supposed to be open until 4pm - arrived at 3:15pm. The gift shop was open and in business, however on entering the coffee shop we were told they had stop serving at 3pm. This was disappointing, as people were still in the coffee shop and we just wanted a coffee. Not a great first impression when wanting to support a local business when new to the village. Tip - put on your website/leaflet etc that your last serving is at 3pm.

Perfect coffee stop mid ride. Lovely people, excellent bacon sandwiches and nice coffee. Perfect halfway round a Trawden loop and opens at 9am for the early starters. Just waffling now because you have to write 200 words which seems unnecessary

I’ve been here twice with different family members. I’ve been for lunch & cakes and another time for a weekend breakfast. Both times it was busy. The food is prepared to order and tastes great. The wait time even when full was not too long and staff were friendly. Food was hot, fresh and tasted good. The best bit was the homemade cake selection. We had cakes to takeaway as we were too full to eat at the time. It’s a different selection each time but everything we have tried has been beautiful. They have disabled access. I rang ahead on my first visit and they were happy to reserve us a table. There is limited parking outside but I’ve always found a spot so far. There’s a lovely shop attached to the cafe that’s worth a look.

We called in here as we were visiting a business in the area a short distance from this café. It’s winter opening hours, appear to be from 10 am in the morning, not 9 am as per website. The sign to the café from the road is a little misleading as it directed us to park up a steep private driveway, which was very difficult to reverse back out of. We had two flat white coffees and a piece of cake which were good quality.

Lovely cafe with very attentive staff. Have travelled from the Blackburn area to visit this cafe twice and found the food and service excellent. Had the homemade pie today with peas, gravy and red cabbage. My wife had the baked potato with tuna special which was well made and like a pate and a cut above the usual tuna mayonnaise which some cafes serve up. Coffee is a good standard and cakes top notch and pretty sure they are home made. The staff are excellent and I would put this place in my top 3 cafes that I’ve visited throughout the Lancashire area on my days out. Also a nice gift shop next door which adds to the experience. Worth the extra mileage to visit this gem of a cafe.

We visited this cafe for breakfast as we were staying locally. It's a lovely, welcoming place, with lovely staff. The menu was varied, and the portions plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, and even picked up some homemade jam they were selling - rhubarb and vanilla, which was also delicious. Overall, a lovely place I'd recommend and would visit again if I was in the area.

We arrived at this cafe, on bicycles, drenched from a massive downpour. The staff welcomed us warmly to say the least. Towels to dry us off, hot food and endless tea, all with a smile and enthusiasm. This place seemed to be frequented by locals and those passing through but should be a Mecca to cyclists from near and far. I couldn’t recommend this place more. The Crest Ilford Cycling Club

It’s been a while since we visited this cafe. We enjoyed our lunch. The food was tasty and the staff were helpful and friendly. A significant improvement since our last visit is the location and accessibility of the toilet for those who have mobility problems. The cafe is dog friendly and usually I don’t mind that but today there was a dog which regularly emitted a single, loud, high pitched bark - very irritating. I assume the dog owners were regulars- why else would anyone put up with this? As a customer I found it off putting. We will return and hope for a more peaceful lunch on another day. All in all, I’m glad we went back!

So pleased to have chanced upon this great little cafe when we needed a coffee on the way to Wycoller and knew the facility there was going to be closed. Wish we hadn't had such a big hotel breakfast as the menu looked very interesting with lots of tempting dishes to choose from. Just had to buy something to take away and have later so chose a Chorley cake which was delicious. Excellent coffee, staff went out of their way to make sure I was happy with a different dairy alternative to my usual soya. Great service. Clean, cosy what more could you want?

My wife & I called into The Old Rock cafe this morning (Friday) & ordered a full breakfast for myself & a vegetarian, gluten-free version for my wife. The waitress/cafe owner bent over backwards to accommodate my wife's dietary needs (providing gluten-free bread, checking ingredients of food etc) & both breakfasts were well presented on the plates & extremely scrumptious! We also had an Americano coffee each (from a 'proper' coffee/espresso machine), which was absolutely spot on ~ strong & very tasty. A great eating experience in such pleasant surroundings. Many thanks from us both. And just to mention, we tootled into the adjoining gift shop afterwards, bought some lovely, unusual gifts & had a great chat with the shop owner to boot. All in all a wonderful, collective experience ~ & we certainly intend to dine at the cafe again.
