This pub is a gem. We had a family meal to celebrate a big birthday with my family. Some from London and Cheltenham . The food was excellent and service by the owner was superb. We were made very welcome and had a big table to sit 12 of us all around. Think we might come and visit again. Thank you.

Wow, what a gem. I have not seen such a quaint pub, cafe, village shop, B&B for years. It feels like being in a remote Highland village as the area is so quiet with the odd passer by, and the do it all services of the pub just add to that vibe. Food was lovely, home cooked just like your mother would cook. You're not going to sit down to Gordon Ramsey aesthetics, but you're not paying that price either. I don't generally like travelling south (from Yorkshire), I don't like busy areas, but this village and pub have smashed my stereotypical image of a southern village. Were it not for the distant hum of the M40, I could have easily been in the depths of North Yorkshire. If I come south again, I will definitely visit.

Lovely little pub in a pretty location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the afternoon tea we booked for was lovely. They were happy to provide vegetarian options for us. We will be back to try the breakfast soon.

Delicious afternoon tea enjoyed in this quaint village pub. The service was friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and savoury bites followed by tasty cakes, scones and a little Eton mess. Highly recommended the afternoon tea. The cafe also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Small village shop at rear of the pub stocks everything you need

Lovely village pub, overlooking the green. The Afternoon tea was delicious. Extremely fresh bread with a variety of different fillings. Hot quiche and sausage rolls. The cakes were lovely followed by warm scones and jam. They even served a Homemade trifle. Great value, honestly we had a great time and pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back. Service was excellent too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely home made panini with brie, peppers and tomato chutney. Came with a little bowl of what tasted like home meade coleslaw and some salad leaves. Son had sandwich with tuna and red onion and also came with coleslaw. Really good value and very tasty. Would def return next time we are in Thame. Very pleased to have found this little gem of an eaterie!

Honestly the best Indian I've had, I had monkfish masala which was superb and tandoori king prawn starter, full of flavour, beautifully cooked. Just fab.

Recommended to us by friends, and just off the M40 and less than five miles from Oxford, we stopped for lunch in this quaint traditional English country pub. Service was impeccable . . . welcoming, unobtrusive yet responsive (Ashley not only talked us through the menu, but also offered suggestions on places of interest in Oxford, Stratford and around the Cotswolds. All dishes were fresh, tasty and attractively presented; and the seabass was simply scrumptious. Good selection of wines and cask ales. All very reasonably priced. Ample free parking. We'll be back!

We decided on Sunday morning to try the Red Lion for lunch, and booked a table for 1330. We arrived and were met by efficient staff who were expecting us and offered us a choice of table. Drinks were ordered from a knowledgeable waiter and arrived quickly, mine being a very well-kept pint from tge local Amwell Springs brewery. We both chose beef from an extremely well thought-out menu which again arrived after only a short wait. The meat was beautifully cooked and presented on a large plate with very well cooked greens, carrots and a freshly-made Yorkshire puddings. Sides of cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes were excellent, probably the best roasties I've had, and the horseradish was similarly delicious. We both cleared our plates and the side dishes. Utterly gorgeous, go and see for yourself.

Really nice warm individual atmosphere. Food was great and just what we needed before a long day the following. We overnight-ed in room 3 which had everything needed. I Managed to run an international meeting at 0600 so wifi was strong. Breakfast next day was really good and ready when we asked for it. Highly recommend The Fat Fox if you want to dodge the corporate bs and feel like a name not a number.
