Absolutely awful. There was a ridiculous amount of liquid in the kabab. The pitta was rock hard and chicken was pink. Used to be the best kabab about.

Very tasty food, my favourite is the chicken shish wrap, great authentic Turkish side options and fresh salad. Never had a late, missing or incorrect delivery! The best and only kebab in Henley!

I ordered chicken sish kebab and it came on good time. Kebab was delicious, they served it with rice, salads and souces. Thank you Hasan and the chiefs.

After a long day in London we came back to Henley on Thames, where we were staying, to have dinner at around 9:30pm. To our surprise, the entire town had stopped serving food. We checked everywhere from the Angel to The Bird in Hand. All were closed except for this gem. The service here was fast and courteous. The food was outstanding! A must visit.

As a resident of Henley we are limited to what we can get delivered so ordered a large kebab and large chips for my partners dinner after waiting an hour and a half we phoned to say it will be 10 mins but clearly hadn’t even started it. Another half an hour later it arrived and was not up to standard paid £18 for what looked like a kids kebab so drove it back to the shop to get a refund and show that it wasn’t a large and even the customers in the shop agreed. Not very apologetic got a refund and went next door. Won’t be returning in a rush

Istanbul used to be the best kebab about but unfortunately they renovated and upped the prices of the food to pay for it l. £10+ is ridiculous for the quality of donner you serve. Also dont think your sly giving out tiny squirts of sauce and making people pay extra for more. I now travel outside of henley to get a kebab because its an absolute joke, do better, be better, JOKESTANBUL KEBAB

Understanding it's a kebab house and tailoring expectations accordingly, this place is great. With delicious wraps available during the day you don't need to pair the food with several pints of beer.

Asked for an £8 donner and was asked for £9. Was £5 before refurbishment. Yet again, charged £9 for an £8 Donner + on the toilet a lot the next day. No choice in salad like before refurbishment. They need competition. Decayed since refurbishment. Ridiculous prices and worse service. Only go if your desperate.

We had one chicken shish and one lamb shish and both were really tasty. The menu is a bit long and could be a bit easier to decipher and the price of soft drinks (£1.60 for a can) seems quite a steep. but the food made up for this.

Food was unusually quick for a bbq. Chicken was like jelly, ordered a mixed kebab and my stomach felt that way after, couldn't even eat it. Had to walk out.b

Where can you go to grab a bite near midnight in Henley? Istanbul BBQ! Having just landed at Heathrow we didn't think we'd find anything open late on a Sunday, but Istanbul BBQ pulled through. Some chicken kebabs and falafel wraps really hit the spot. Friendly service too!

Chicken doner was excellent, the lamb was the usual fare, prefer it a little more browned but will ask for it next time. Good salad, bread and sauces, fast delivery. Deffo ordering again!

Have a wonderful experience at Instanbul BBQ! I ordered the Doner meat with chips. Unlike the last lady on these reviews who ordered a "Diner" meat wrap who clearly didn't know what she was eating, I must say that I had a wonderful meal and well done to everyone involved! 😁👍

I had a lovely lamb diner wrap from this wonderful establishment and I was very sad when I had eaten it all because it was very tasty and I wanted more because I am a pig. Next time, I will eat the menu. My friend Grant is also so excited about his meal and would like to leave a review. He is expecting a clean departure tomorrow morning which is a sign of a good healthy meal. Most appreciated

I love a good doner kebab, they are however getting harder to find, often dripping with grease, cold, limp and old salad, contents not put into pitta. Istanbul BBQ came up trumps, a clean and tidy shop, polite staff, fast service and excellent food, the best kebab I have had in years, highly recommended.

For a takeaway fabulous kofta this is very very hard to beat. 🤩

After being at a wedding in Henley felt hungry at the end of the evening popped into Istanbul to get a large mixed kabab. What can I say it was fresh tasted fantastic and the slices of sweet pickle took the kabab to another level. He even gave me a taster whilst my food was being prepaird

Often wondered who that was driving the Rolls Royce around Henley. Just found out it’s the owner of this restaurant lol. Most I’ve ever spent on a kebab which comes weirdly in a microwave packet. Fair play, but won’t be buying again.

Looks a very decent menu, and all the food looked great - had chicken doner and chips was very nice. It needed to be at that price!

It's ironic that they have done the place up but their food has got worse and service plus they have MASSIVELY increased in fact its doubled in price and half the quality and service!! They also got the order wrong no salad which i asked clearly for. I'm not happy. I won't be returning!! Follow up to your response - no I was not given a menu I ordered in your shop at your counter as I always have done then you told me how much it was I nearly passed out in shock!! £30 odd for 2 regular Lamb donners, one portion of cheesy chips and 2 drinks - dam right I will go elsewhere next time. Don't expect me to come back to this. No where in the area is this expensive!!!!! Appalling service rude arrogant staff!!! 😫

The lamb kofta kebab was well seasoned and cooked to perfection, it went down a treat . Nice crispy chips as a side dish. Friendly staff. Clean. A lot of options on the menu.

Since the refurb they have obliterated their menu, lowered the quality of their food and increased the prices, more than doubling the cost of what we used to pay. I am appalled by their greedy behaviour and echo many other recent reviews in relation to their price hikes, poor product quality and ‘new’ reduced portions. We have used Istanbul Kebab for 10+ years, enjoying the variety on offer and would spend £16-£20 each time on amazing food that would feed two people comfortably. When we first opened the App after their refurb my family thought the prices were incorrect or had glitches but no, they’re really that high; we couldn’t believe it. Thankfully Henley has Herbies Pizza which charges (at the time of this review) 6.49GBP for a 1/2lb Cheese Burger inc chips and a drink, whereas for the same order Istanbul Kebab now charge 11.10GBP…..it’s disgraceful. May I add that Herbies know how to cook a good burger, offer decent portions and have lovely customer service. While I understand the common perception that Henley-on-Thames is full of wealth, charging anyone 9GBP for a regular Lamb Doner that used to cost 6GBP and was actually filling is ridiculous. Understandably they’ve lost the custom of both myself and my family.

I've had a few meals since Istanbul bbq Henley reopened. Tonight bbq Chicken shish, rice and salad. It was really really good. So much nicer having the rice option instead of bread. I've had a falafel wrap and various Messe dishes The tzatziki is amazing and garlic mayo is the best all homemade! The menu is so much better since they refurbished. More choice and healthier options.

Giving this place 5 stars as I don't really remember visiting, but I think it was quick and friendly.

I honestly didn't expect to leave a review but I just had a chicken shish & it was incredible. The smoked/chargrilled flavour of the chicken was outstanding. Succulent too. Of course the sauce, salad & pitta made it perfect. Friendly guys too.

The food was the best I’ve ever tasted. I’ve ordered there twice and even the person who I was ordering for thought the same. Great fast service and was on my way in 5 minutes. Even after a 10 minute walk the food was still warm and drink was still cold. The burger sauce was very good. I recommend the 1/4 pounder with/out cheese and burger sauce.

After staying a few days in Henley we had a lamb kebab and the special. The meat was cooked fresh. The salad was very fresh too. All very tasty food. My only complaint is coming from the Midlands it was quite expensive to what we pay but you don't visit every day. Worth a visit.

We ordered online for collection, our food was ready faster than expected and my goodness was it beautiful! I asked for extra garlic mayo, explaining it was a pregnancy craving and wow they did not disappoint! My kebab was truly covered in garlic mayo, just the way I wanted it 🤰😍 they even gave me a pot of the sauce too! Very happy pregnant lady, thank you very much!! It was the first time my partner had had a donner rather than a shish in 12 years and he was really happy with his too! We're both thoroughly looking forward to our next order.

Very disappointed with size of my LARGE kebab it was tiny considering I've had better sizes from themselves before
