I've traveled to Turkey once to Antalya, and surprisingly, Istanbul BBQ in Henley is three times better than the kebabs I had there. Truly exceptional!

I had the mixed shish lamb and Adana kebab combination at Istanbul BBQ in Henley-on-Thames, and it was fantastic. The authentic flavours were spot on, and the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. Though it’s a small takeaway spot with just four stools, the place was exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly caring and professional, clearly taking pride in their work. A great little gem for a quick, authentic Turkish meal.

After a long day in London we came back to Henley on Thames, where we were staying, to have dinner at around 9:30pm. To our surprise, the entire town had stopped serving food. We checked everywhere from the Angel to The Bird in Hand. All were closed except for this gem. The service here was fast and courteous. The food was outstanding! A must visit.

As a resident of Henley we are limited to what we can get delivered so ordered a large kebab and large chips for my partners dinner after waiting an hour and a half we phoned to say it will be 10 mins but clearly hadn’t even started it. Another half an hour later it arrived and was not up to standard paid £18 for what looked like a kids kebab so drove it back to the shop to get a refund and show that it wasn’t a large and even the customers in the shop agreed. Not very apologetic got a refund and went next door. Won’t be returning in a rush

Istanbul used to be the best kebab about but unfortunately they renovated and upped the prices of the food to pay for it l. £10+ is ridiculous for the quality of donner you serve. Also dont think your sly giving out tiny squirts of sauce and making people pay extra for more. I now travel outside of henley to get a kebab because its an absolute joke, do better, be better, JOKESTANBUL KEBAB

Understanding it's a kebab house and tailoring expectations accordingly, this place is great. With delicious wraps available during the day you don't need to pair the food with several pints of beer.

Asked for an £8 donner and was asked for £9. Was £5 before refurbishment. Yet again, charged £9 for an £8 Donner + on the toilet a lot the next day. No choice in salad like before refurbishment. They need competition. Decayed since refurbishment. Ridiculous prices and worse service. Only go if your desperate.

We had one chicken shish and one lamb shish and both were really tasty. The menu is a bit long and could be a bit easier to decipher and the price of soft drinks (£1.60 for a can) seems quite a steep. but the food made up for this.

Food was unusually quick for a bbq. Chicken was like jelly, ordered a mixed kebab and my stomach felt that way after, couldn't even eat it. Had to walk out.b

Where can you go to grab a bite near midnight in Henley? Istanbul BBQ! Having just landed at Heathrow we didn't think we'd find anything open late on a Sunday, but Istanbul BBQ pulled through. Some chicken kebabs and falafel wraps really hit the spot. Friendly service too!

I love a good doner kebab, they are however getting harder to find, often dripping with grease, cold, limp and old salad, contents not put into pitta. Istanbul BBQ came up trumps, a clean and tidy shop, polite staff, fast service and excellent food, the best kebab I have had in years, highly recommended.

For a takeaway fabulous kofta this is very very hard to beat. 🤩

After being at a wedding in Henley felt hungry at the end of the evening popped into Istanbul to get a large mixed kabab. What can I say it was fresh tasted fantastic and the slices of sweet pickle took the kabab to another level. He even gave me a taster whilst my food was being prepaird

Often wondered who that was driving the Rolls Royce around Henley. Just found out it’s the owner of this restaurant lol. Most I’ve ever spent on a kebab which comes weirdly in a microwave packet. Fair play, but won’t be buying again.

Looks a very decent menu, and all the food looked great - had chicken doner and chips was very nice. It needed to be at that price!

It's ironic that they have done the place up but their food has got worse and service plus they have MASSIVELY increased in fact its doubled in price and half the quality and service!! They also got the order wrong no salad which i asked clearly for. I'm not happy. I won't be returning!! Follow up to your response - no I was not given a menu I ordered in your shop at your counter as I always have done then you told me how much it was I nearly passed out in shock!! £30 odd for 2 regular Lamb donners, one portion of cheesy chips and 2 drinks - dam right I will go elsewhere next time. Don't expect me to come back to this. No where in the area is this expensive!!!!! Appalling service rude arrogant staff!!! 😫
