Came here in June and it was a thriving pub. Rang w days before our current trip and everything appeared to be OK. But on arrival, and popping in for an evening drink, we were told the pub was shut as "the Brewery have sold it". No apology. Probably explains why as we walked in, two guys were raiding the place of its contents. What is it with this place? It used to be run by a lovely couple, strict rules but always welcoming and accommodating. Since then it has bumped from one crisis to another. So unpredictable. With the caravan site just around the corner, it should do sufficient business to get through the quieter winter months. Even the locals now boycott it apparently as you never know if it is open. Please, someone, grab hold of it, know how to run a business and get it back on it's feet.

Limited snack menu, very off bar staff and DO watch where you put your hands, very quick flash job doing the pub up which superficially looks smart but nails sticking out of walls catching out the unwary.. If you are coming here from the CAMC site, potter up the road there are 2 much nicer pubs just off the road going towards Abergavenny and also a fuel stop with a village shop affair

Came for a Sunday roast and had no complaints. The roast tasted lovely and was easy to eat with the veg being provided on the side along with the gravy. The Pub was in a beautiful location with scenic views/walks not too far away. Great service too. Easy parking.

Bit of a mixed bag this one. Had run out of 3 of the 5 primary on tap drinks with a 4th following soon after. Beef dinner was gorgeous in fairness but out of horseradish and apple sauce for pork so needs a bit of stock management. Chef was very nice as was the lady serving at the bar. 4 stars

We called in with friends after a morning walk just as the Inn was about to open. We couldn't have been made more welcome, including our dog. The menu was limited as it was about to change but the Mexican loaded fries were excellent, well cooked and presented, and great value. Our friends enjoyed their food too. Would highly recommend this friendly roadside inn.

Having read poor previous reviews and like many other people on the caravan site we unfortunately gave it a go. Alledgedly the “ landlady “ was on a sticky leaving a hardworking and conscientious 17 year old in charge ,on her own she did a great job, even her mum turned up to help, the problem was the kitchen staff, the food was awful, the lasagne passed ok, the steak barely ok, as complained about before the burgers were grisly and got spat out, excuse my manners, and the beef curry completely inedible, a total waste of money and time, I asked young girl to relay this to “ chefs” and had a small discount, in retrospect we shouldn’t have paid at all. On the next morning the front tables still full of bottles, glasses and has trays, my opinion couldn’t care less lazy staff, except young girl who deserved massive pay rise and more respect from “landlady “ , enough said, AVOID.

Soggy chips, gristly burger, scampi ok, service ok, but confused. Seemed like they had just opened and this was the first night. It wasn't! Spoke to the manager at the end who informed us it was for sale as its busy in the summer, but dead in the winter. This place could do so well with the camping site next door, but we will not be going back under the current owners - a waste of £62! Shame because we so want it to be good and therefore successful !

Having read previous reviews I can only think that there are talking about a different Old Pandy Inn . We visited when it had just been taken over and it was great. But on our return what a disappointment! The girl behind the bar was only interested in the four guys sat at the bar. No personality what so ever. We sat outside as it was nice weather lots of road noise that can’t be helped. But the bin was over flowing and stunk, dirty ashtrays and benches although looked new covered in birds s++t the outside around the back was disgraceful so went back inside. Beautifully decorated by the way. What a shame, they really are missing a trick with a caravan site a stone’s throw away and the place was empty. We only wanted a drink as we had had a four hour journey to get to the caravan park, won’t be returning I’m afraid.

Urgh, it’s a shame. You know when you go out and you think to yourself “I could have eaten way better food at home for a fraction of the price”? Then add in the total lack of any willing service and realise that’s why you never come to places like this. Food Ok, we were the first table of the day so the kitchen took a while to ‘get going’, but undercooked chips (yes edible but you know that firm ‘starchy’ texture when chips haven’t been cooked properly? That. All four plates of chips had that texture). We all had burgers and they were absolutely fine. Nothing really wrong there. Anyway, I’m all for supporting local business and we’d waited a while so didn’t want to send it all back..yep, very British of us. Service What? None really. The lady who greeted us gave off that air of not really giving a sh*t. She took our order, poured our drinks and brought our food. Offered us any sauces? Nope. Check that we liked our meal? Nope. Show any personality whatsoever? Nope…unless her personality is always ‘cold shoulder’ and ‘teen attitude’ (she was not a teen). There’s lots of good reviews of this place so I’ll have to assume she was having a bad day and the kitchen perhaps hadn’t warmed up yet. But it was such a ‘meh’ and disappointing way to spend our lunch time I don’t think we’ll bother returning. Sorry Pandy Inn..:we wanted to like it.

A decent pub with nice interior, tried food and first time was nice, sadly second time loaded fries (stilton and mushrooms) were disappointing, extremely greasy but, to be fair was hot and freshly cooked and then to add insult to injury waitress said sorry we have ran out of napkins, not the best of adverts, bar staff are nice and chatty, overall okay but needs to up it's game a bit to get better reviews.

First return after 6 years and a previous disappointment/boycott. New management from Nov 2023 and wow, what a difference. From the point of booking to the end of our visit the service was excellent , efficient and friendly. Good range of pub food with an unusual range of burgers and loaded fries. Our meals were delicious and healthy portions. In fact, all of the food served looked good. Prices were very reasonable too. The restaurant area has been tidied up and made cosy with nice furnishings. The wooden floor is great as they allow dogs so easy for cleaning. So nice to see owners making an effort and this place offers plenty of theme nights and weekly entertainment. What's not to like! Looking forward to returning.

We called in here for lunch on May 8th. Service was slow and difficult; we explained our menu choices three times. The food was mediocre and the pub itself was tired and a little dirty with no atmosphere. The food wasn't cheap, it should have been £35 for two mains and a diet coke. I was glad to leave and paid quickly. When I checked the bill I'd been charged and extra 15% service charge without discussion. It honestly wasn't worth the 'service charge' and we were both unwell for a few days after eating there. Never again.

AMAZING Food indeed!!! 👏 😃🤩 Would never expect such unbelievable quality food from an Inn! Mixed grill wonderfully cooked with very generous proportions. (See the pics) I would describe the food quality more like its for a high end restaurant, its locally sourced too! The chef realy knows how to cook and his wife looked after us well while we were there. My sister had a vegetarian tart that she really loved and looked great, mother had a great salmon dish. We all enjoyed our time there eating out on the picnic benched to take in the sun. 🌞 opposite across the road is a great view too. It was a little chilly inside which will make it great for when it's hot in the summer. Plenty of car parking opposite for big gatherings. We only stopped for dinner so don't know much about the rooms, you'd have to look at others reviewing that side of things. If you're coming for the food then enjoy!!! 😉

We’ve been eating here for years while staying close by, but I doubt we will make the effort in the future. What used to be home cooked food has now turned into processed warmed up stuff you can buy in a supermarket and produce at home. The fish and chips used to be amazing, now they are dire. The service was with a smile but the place was cold and not welcoming. It was a damp and miserable day outside and the fire could have been lit or at least the lights turned on and perhaps the candles lit on the tables. Totally bad management or lack of it. Whilst staying in the campsite nearby my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to our first evening meal out since lockdown. We booked a table in advance and ordered right away when we arrived. They were busy when we arrived and so we expected a slight delay and didn’t fuss when we we left waiting some time for our meals but after an hour had passed we enquired and we’re told that our meals had gone out “somewhere” and had been eaten by someone else! As they operate a table number system and we hadn’t seen our meals go past I’m not really sure how that works? By this time it was turned 9pm and so we had to return to our campsite hungry and had to find something to eat and start cooking for ourselves. Fuming! The manager apologised but we still had to pay for our 2 drinks before we left to go back to the campsite and start cooking!!! We definitely won’t be bothering again.

Cooked to perfection and with the perfect salad on the side.I fully recommend everyone to stop at least once here, friendly staff and great service. Will definitely call again

Met friends from Chester for 1st time in over a year. Had an excellent meal. Well cooked and enjoyed by all. The fish and chips was exceptionally tasty. The gammon was proper gammon and not a steak as often served. Made welcome by host. Very good lunch menu. Will call again.

Ordered fish and chips for take away as we were staying at the caravan park around the corner. They were awful, frozen fish tasted horrible accompanied by frozen chips. If your staying here don’t bother go further afield.

I’ve got to say the Pandy inn is looking absolutely rough and disgusting outside! Starting to resemble into a scrap yard outside! A total eyesore to the village!! Not appealing to turn up to!! You need to get your act together

Lovely food and music loved it. They gave me a free J2O and biltong when I visited at another different time.

Wasn't sure if the pub was open for lunch, but thankfully it was. Had to sit outside due the the Welsh covid 19 rules, but not a problem. We had the Burger which excellent and a huge portion. The chips with it were very nicely done as well. Couldn't fault at all. All served by very nice polite staff who just couldn't do enough for you. Another one to come back to.

We visited with the children today to have a sunday lunch on the way back from abergavenny. We live not to far away so thought we would give it a shot. My lad had a lasagna and my daughter, wife and I had a beef sunday lunch. The lasagna looked a big portion, the chips were oven cooked and looked good, the lasagna was very dry to be honest no sauce at all inside so my lad left half, which wasnt a problem, my problem was the sunday lunch!!Beef had been cooked and then reheated, was tough as old boots, which I actually told the waitress as she came around and said next time it would be better! The roasters had been cooked at warmed back up in a deep fat fryer and all you could taste was fat, the veg would of been fine if it wasnt covered in oil which seemed to have garlic in or some type of herb. So on the plate was 2 new potatoes,2 roast potatoes,3 tiny slices of beef, 1 packet Yorkshire pud along with a dish of carrots, cauliflower and broccoli! 3 veg was it!!A couple was passing through that was sat next us who had sunday dinner as well and they couldn't believe it either! They had 1 bowl of veg between 2 people and we had the same size bowl for 2 people and 1 child, so I asked for another as the dish included 2 stalks of broccoli, 2 stalks of cauliflower and 6 batons of carrots. The gravy was like dish water, runny and most definitely not homemade. All I can say for £44.50 and for what we had I'll never be stopping here again!

Greeted by wonderful staff, extremely friendly and welcoming . The quality of food and coffee was great too Not overly busy, got our food and drinks very quickly. Disabled access here is good as there is an open wide seating area that is easy to navigate. I honestly can find no fault with this Costa, it's very clean with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. On street parking outside and many other areas to park too.
