Arrived at 9.45 and ordered 3 breakfast 1 BLT and 2 Full English asked for an Americano and my partner asked for a Latte, The Americano was Nescafé and milk and the Latte was Nescafé and hot milk, i asked if she had coffee from the machine she says it’s an Americano so clearly not trained 10.30 the breakfast arrived, greasy mushrooms, chewy sausage, burnt hash browns burnt fried bread and over cooked eggs. I did let the staff know they just smiled and says Thanks !!! Its not the staffs fault they were nice just lacking in hospitality and a good cook It’s a shame this place has great potential...

Excellent service and food. Owners and staff went the extra mile to make our visit fantastic. Food came well presented and was enjoyed by all. Will be visiting again soon.

So very impressed with The Old Nags Head. The staff and owners go out of their way to welcome you and the menu is well thought out and delicious. The pub usually has offers on the food and the desserts are just mind blowing! Best pub in Manchester! Competitively priced and a fantastic atmosphere. Bravo all!

We recently held a surprise party for my Dads 80th Birthday in the function room upstairs. Firstly Josh made the planning of the event very easy for me. Clear pricing , communication and assurance that everything would be all right on the night . We all had a great night , all the staff were lovely and food was fab !! The pub has certainly changed and for the better such a lovely family environment . Thank you for making Dad’s night a memorable one !!

Cold food. Mini mugs for brews. Fatty bacon. Toast drops out onto worktop. Get what you pay for or don’t!

The atmosphere is relaxing and the seating areas are well planned, there are a few kids games to keep them occupied which is good and a kids area with books and colouring books etc Staff are very friendly and have a chat with you which is good.

I went with my partner, we both had a mixed grill each and I must say the portions are amazing and the chef Jonathan did an amazing job with our steak it was done to perfection would definitely recommend.. Going back soon

Have spent the weekend with family in Irlam and ate at The Nag's pub on Saturday for tea and Sunday for a carvery. Food was fabulous and the staff made us feel very welcome. Currently showing sports on TV. There is a small play area for children so there is something at the Nag's for everyone. The pub has many links to the community and actively involved with local charities. If you haven't already been, you don't know what you're missing! Kathryn, Wirral

The owners have done wonders with this pub, it used to have a bit of a reputation, but no longer. Does very nice food, and a great carvery on a Sunday. Once a week they do a speciality food night, Indian, Mexican or another, which really must be tried.

Took my dad for lunch. He`s 90 and hard of hearing. The young lady was brilliant. She had loads of patience and was very friendly and good at her job. The lunch menu was decent and he really enjoyed it. Nice and clean and good service.

The only thing we haven't tried here was the carvery so we decided to give it a go. We got our tickets which was a reasonable price. Then we went to the carvery there was only one meat left, a few vegetables and no mash. We asked for some mash which was microwaved and brought over to us but was not microwaved long enough as it was still cold in the middle. The Yorkshire puddings was also very soggy. Our friends who came a bit later tried to buy carvery tickets and was told it was shut this was 4.30 its suppose to be on till 6.30. What a let down.

Group of 5 visited at lunch time food was pre-ordered and paid for on arrival yet only 4 of us received our meals the other waited a further 20 minutes.

Have been here many times for food, and it's always brilliant ...would definitely recommend the Sunday carvery and the curry nights.....will definitely be back again.

With living local I was hoping it would be good. I have eaten here a few times now and it has not improved. A couple of times that I have been in the whole pub has been smoky and my clothes end up smelling of grease by the end of the night. The portion sizes are great, but the last time I had a meal my jacket potato was rotten and my wife’s lasagne was very tomatoey. Deserts are good at a cheap price too. I have been in for curry night which is good value but not yet tried the Sunday carvery. They have a great choice of lagers at a good price too. The entertainment has been good and the staff are brilliant, I just hope the food improves then I can give it 5 stars.

Friendly staff as always .. 2 meals for £10 good value for money.. lasagne far too tomatoey.. apart from that everything else was lovely

Been in a few times with friends and family and always have a lovely meal. Tried a few dishes steak, home made pie, sandwiches, breakfast. Great food and great value. Friendly staff and lot's of choice. Not used the place for an evening out so don't know whether the evening trade is upto much

Watched a Neil diamond tribute act. The pub was clean, the beer was nice. The act was good. What more could I ask for? Can't wait for the next one.

Visited on Saturday evening with friends. The 8oz sirloin with the home made chips and a pint of Hobgoblin was excellent. Staff very friendly.

Visited the Old Nags Head for the carvery after going in for a few drinks previously. After arriving at 3.30pm we found a seat and ordered drinks at the bar. We paid for carvery and were served straight away by the friendly staff. The overall selection of both meats and vegetables were good. I went for the gammon and pork. The meal was tasty and the gammon was very nice. My wife went for the beef which also looked tasty. After the mains our son had an ice cream from a wide selection.

Lovely place for a quiet lunch not to rowdy, realy friendly staff and the food is spot on at prices that are very resalable.

We had a lovely meal,hot roast beef baguette with hand cut chips and we asked for side portions of mushrooms,onions and gravy. It was delivered with a tiny surcharge as they were not on the menu. Very filling and massive portions, lovely cut beef (not frozen). The owner and staff are so lovely and welcoming. Check out their entertainment, they have great events coming up in December and fab live music. We had a great night watching cinnamon dinner (Salford indie band)a few weeks ago and will be back this month.

First time here with a group of friends that had visited previously. First impressions, lovely old style pub, friendly staff who allowed us to rearrange 4 tables so we could all sit facing each other. Great value food, very generous portions, beautifully cooked and REAL chips, REAL onion rings, no frozen rubbish. We will definitely b e visiting again and woiuld recommend to anyone that loves their food, amazing.

Wow, newly reopened and the food is fantastic! Warm friendly welcome, food is fresh and home made, large p8rtions. Enjoyed a steak with homemade onion rings, pie too all homemade. Plenty of veg choice n not just peas h carrots

I've been 3 times in the last few weeks and will be back again as the food was great each time. The food is homemade and tasty and really good value. The staff are also very friendly which really makes a difference. I look forward to trying the Sunday roast next time!

Decided to try this place for a meal, its recently been taken over after being closed for 2 years, popped in a few times just for a drink since it reopened , Sunday carvery looked tasty, lots to choose from, I opted for the homemade "steak and ale pie", my husband the "lasagne ', both meals were piping hot, and there was plenty of it, staff great too, manager very polite, seems like a great place , hope it stays that way.
