The best cod and chips in the North West and for miles around. Cooked to order from fresh and utterly delicious. We drive a fair few miles just for Neil's Fryery - it really is that good! Fabulous, tasty, delicious food and lovely staff. Highly recommended! Would award ten stars if we could. Thank you for always being consistently fabulous!

Shocking service tonight, staff did not put my order in, then was rude, huffing and puffing as if I had made tge mistake. Eventually made my order to then Tell me they don't have the curry. I said I'll have to call and see what she wants. Again huffing and puffing( even though I had placed my order 15 minutes before this and was not told they had no curry. Finally about to get my order when I was told that I hadn't ordered peas for both my meals. The attitude from the staff was shocking. I had to ask for a refund for the items they didn't have. Shocking service this is tge second time this has happened, so will not be returning. Shame as the food is lovely.

Absolutely fantastic chippy. Fish and chips were some of the best I’ve had, and the Irish curry sauce was great. Great value too at £8.80 for the mini fish deal, staff were lovely, highly recommend!

Best fish n chips for miles around, fish fresh and white, batter perfectly crispy and chips to die for, good selection of sauces/gravy’s and lots of classic drinks. Cash only though is a slight negative.

As a newbie to the area,I thought I would try Neil's I had the special with curry,the fish battered and cooked to perfection,the chips crisp and fluffy,I certainly rate this chippy,at 7.50 reasonable as well

My go-to place for chips in Salford. Staff is extremely sweet and I'd ordered chips twice from them and they remembered I wanted extra salt. I stayed in Salford for around 2 months and I whenever I craved chips, I would come here. £2 for Large Chips! Reasonably priced. Didn't get to try their Fish, but will do so the next time ill be around.

On our trip to Manchester, we looked forward to having property English fish and chips. Our friends to us to Neil's Friery, and they didn't disappoint!! It was amazing! Real, fresh cut potatoes make the best chips! The fish was fresh, and the batter was light and tasty. We ended up going back again the next week for more! The mushy peas were excellent, and we tried the Irish curry the second time we went. So good!! They asked us where we were from, and when we said Canada, they asked us how are fish and chips were. We explained how it was and what sides came with it. Very different but still good. Nothing like England, though! Definitely try this place if you ever get to Manchester!!

Had food delivered from here via UberEats a few times and the fish and chips are amazing, gravy is so good too but not been able to order recently through UberEats which is a shame...really missing it now

I've lived in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Newcastle. Ive eaten at some swanky, award winning places and ive tasted the worst. I love my fish n chips!! This place does the best battered fish I've tasted. Full stop. Salford doesn't know what it's got!!

This chippy is a personal favourite of mine and my family’s, as always the food is on point. The chicken breast are really nice and go lovely with a bit of spicy curry and rice. Everything is always so fresh. This is definitely the best chippy by far.

After being ill for 3 weeks and craving fish n chips, I finally got some tonight. Excellent food and service as ever, from the very friendly staff. The best fish n chips for miles 👍👍

This is an absolutely cracking fish and chip shop. Fish is cooked fresh and as good as you’d get near the coast, if not better. Fantastic generous portions and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Currently they’re accepting cash only so keep that in mind.

Got the fish here today and it was absolutely gorgeous. Brilliant chippy where we now come regularly. Much better than Mother Hubbards.

Pass loads of other chippys to come here, always good, the fish is the best I've had, really nice crispy batter and a really good size, everything is cooked well and the gravy is very tasty too!

Quite simply the best chippy in the area, I live in Stretford so this is a 9 mile round trip for me and it's well worth it. I often grab lunch from here and occasionally make the trip from home as well. :-)

Neil's friery is a lovely fish and chip shop staff lovely and welcoming always polite nothing's ever to much trouble. My favourite from here is the battered sausage and chips and the scallops are lovely a good size the fish and chips are gorgeous the food is always hot and you get a very good portion for your money. Neil's Friery is value for money and well worth a try if you've never been but a tip ring your order through first because it's always busy.

Loved the homemade fish cakes. I used to get them with a bread roll which they told me is a barm cake but hey, smells bloody nice when your walking down the road and it's not that expensive...

Payed £3.70 for a large chips with gravy which is abit too much in my opinion. When I got home I noticed the chips had vinegar on them which I was never asked if I wanted on otherwise I would had said no as I don't like it with gravy. Made the chips taste sour and I didn't enjoy it. Nothing special just a standard chippy.

While visiting family in Salford (from London, Ontario, Canada) we asked "which is your best local chippy" ... Neil's came out on top. We visited and ordered a variety of meals including fish, chips, Holland's pies (of course) and everything was superb, cooked fresh to order and piping hot. I am sure we can fit in another visit before heading home!

Called here a few days ago, ordered Fish & Peas. Staff chatty and friendly, Fish cooked to order was a good size and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back.

Had the mini fish and chips with the spicy curry sauce on Friday and it was amazing. Went back the following Tuesday it was just as good. Fish cooked to order, proper chunky chip shop chips and nice, friendly service. 10/10.

It's been there a long time and has many fans and has continued to be the best fish and chip shop in Salford. Big portions and crispy fish batter done just right. It's well worth a detour or even a drive to get there.

We're really fussy about chip shop's, as the batter on the fish can be really heavy and chips are more like rench fries We got fish and chips and got a tray of chips and gravy, enjoyed every morsel of it, batter on the fish was light fish was large chips were nice and chunky gravy was very tasty. Lady who served was lovely and friendly, would highly recommend a visit, They certainly know how to cook a good fish and chips

This is our local fish and chip shop and one of the best around. The staff are all very friendly and we have never had a bad takeaway. The fish is always fresh and the chips some of the nicest I have had.

Been to this chippy several times and always find the food really nice and reasonably priced. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars now is on our last visit, we realised they had missed a barm which was paid for and also the portion of chips given on the fish chips and peas meal was a little snide, not much more than a small handful. Hopefully just a one off because every other time the portion sizes have been ample.

Myself and two other colleagues came here for dinner as our local chippy was not open. What a great off chance that we came here! The lady who served us was very nice and bubbly and offered us the regular size and the meal deal size which she explained was small than the regular. When she came to wrapping our food up she explained that she had put gravy on one of the dinners who didn't ask for gravy. She offered a replacement but my colleague said it was fine. She also told us that she would not charge for it. Whilst myself and a colleague were stood waiting for our other colleague, the one I was stood with decided he wanted to change his drink. The staff who was closest by (who wasn't the original one who served us) offered to change the can for him. The food was very nice and the portion size was great. I was a little thrown off by the price, but after seeing the portion sizes I can understand why.

Had the Cod, Large Chips and a Battered Sausage.. Honestly one of the best chippys ive ever had. Fish was red hot from the fryer with crispy batter, chips were hot and you know when they're soft? But have that little crunch to them. Plus the sausage was done perfectly.

Called here on Saturday fish and chips are great I only got the small fish and chips it filled me up but if you are very hungry and get the standard one you will love it I recommend this place Well done staff are great and a good price two

I haven't had chips here yet but I saw a sign for popcorn chicken for £1 and I couldn't help but have a try. They were made fresh and they're the best I have tasted. The staff were really friendly.

The chips here are probably the best in Salford. It's not cheap but I suppose you pay for quality.

Any time my dear old mother xomes to visit, she always wants to eat here. We both love it and both struggle to find a decent chip shop anywhere else nearby here or nearby her own house. Personal favorite is the curry and chips. But i wouldnt be put off at the thought of other stuff from here. Staff are always friendly and polite and you get seen to proper quick too

Not has good jas it used to be. Chips sometimes taste like they have been cooked in old fat. The staff are nice but when it was Neils and Kays it was more of a community feeling in their. You could walk in and they would remember you.

A personal favourite and it was my mum's too - light fish, perfect chips! Wish they had an eat-in option but that's my only gripe - gorgeous!
