Stayed for one night in bedroom 4. As previous comments, the bedroom is not the greatest but the bed was quite comfy. The breakfast was included (full English breakfast, cereals, juice, tea and coffee). Was the best point of our staying. The staff was really nice and friendly but they need to improve the B&B side. The place is totally overpriced for what they offer. We didn’t take anything in the pub but it’s really cosy with nice garden and live music.

My wife and I popped into The Old Millhouse Inn to grab a cool, refreshing drink after walking a section of the Coast Path on a particularly hot afternoon. The lady behind the bar was very helpful and, in addition to pouring a delicious pint of Proper Job and a half of pale ale, she also kindly provided water for our onward journey. We enjoyed our drinks in the beer garden. Would certainly come back again if in Polperro. Many thanks.

Just come back from a two night stay here, on arrival we had a friendly welcome. However when entering the room it was clear that photos online were not a true reflection on what the room was really like ! The room was very dusty and dirty and in a desperate need of refurbishment (not great during this pandemic). The window was broken and had not been replaced. Also none of the lights worked we had to ask for some new bulbs. The shower was extremely mouldy and therefore we did not use it, we felt on edge using the bathroom ! On the 2nd day a leak started coming through the ceiling, we reported this to the staff they stated they did not have any other rooms available for us to move. We were ready to go home at this point however they found us a room in their sister hotel Noughts and Crosses ( we were very skeptical about going here). On arrival at this hotel it was 100 times better and very clean ! Breakfast was good and there was plenty to choose from but it did take a while for it to arrive. I think they may have been let down by some staff. We paid on arrival but were asked numerous times on our stay if we had paid which we found a bit bizarre. I would not recommend staying here unless a vast improvement is made.

Spotted the excellent beer garden from our window so headed down for a few beers. The bar was full of flies, the corridor to the garden stank and there was a sofa dumped in the corner. My glass was dirty and, although replaced immediately by friendly staff, the second one wasn’t much better.

We stopped in The Old Millhouse on the Thursday after arriving in Polperro for a long weekend. We were trying a few pubs and we stopped for a game of pool and a drink, which is free (the pool that is). We started talking to one of the owners about where we were from and how long we were down for and he told us about the menu and mentioned that they had recently taken over the pub. After discussion about the food we booked in to have food the next day.

This pub was one of the more popular pubs in Polperro, but sadly it seems to have lost it's appeal. We went in for a lunchtime drink and were disappointed to see that there was no menu available for us to order bar snacks. I wished that I had taken this holiday a week later as I would have been very interested in attending the beer festival again that was on the following weekend, I was there last year and the beers on tap were all very good, plus you were given a commemorative glass. Overall still the cheapest drinking hole in Polperro full of friendly faces and still dog friendly.

On arriving in Polperro, we were faced with extortionate 24 hour car parking fees. The car park was a15 minute walk from the Inn. A tram ran from the car park to the village for a small fee ( more money being spent before setting foot in the village). The tram ran late morning to late afternoon. On arrival there was a warm welcome by a member of staff. The entrance to the accommodation was dirty and unwelcoming. The double room was at the top of two very narrow staircases. The room was a tiny double with a shabby en-suite. On entering, the aroma of damp mixed with a fabric conditioner type small was dreadful. The badly painted, dirty framed window was running with condensation. No lock on the window. There was one bedside table with lamp, plenty of extension leads draped over the carpet for electrical appliances, a tv perched precariously on a chest of drawers and a badly painted wardrobe with 4 coat hangers. The bed had a thin duvet, two pillows (one each). The carpet was thin. The room had been decorated but to a poor standard (paint on mirror itself). The sliding door to the en-suite left gaps when closed and a noisy, munching, crunching, grinding, blending, macerating toilet sat between some dirty badly fitting boards. The shower was at the other end with a basin between the two. The shower room was dark and unwelcoming. Towels had to be dried on the dirty bed frame. The bed was made for the second night but the towels were left on the bed, damp. The tea and coffee making facilities were basic but not checked as we had to ask for milk on the first night. Breakfast was basic. Self service cereal etc Full English, no options. Table set up with one knife each to use for Full English and marmalade. Staff friendly and helpful. Our first visit to south Cornwall. The village was spectacular and the people very friendly, but why do tourists have to be ripped off because of the location of the accommodation? Not value for money.

We stumbled across this pub during a hot day seeking a cool beverage to cool down. We got a round of drinks which was averagely priced in comparison to other local competitors and decided to sit in the “beer garden”. The said garden was disappointing to say the least, shabby furniture, dead flowers, over grown grass and a dirty Bbq I wouldn’t serve food to my dog off. I would also like to mention that the toilets showed no sign of being recently cleaned as there was a pool of water next to the toilet which I dread to think the source.

We stayed at the Old Millhouse for two nights from 4th September as part of a trip around Cornwall. We have to say we found the pictures and information online quite misleading when we arrived. We were shown up to our room (4) which had clearly been decorated recently but some of the basics had been overlooked. There was damp and mildew all around the window. The bathroom did not look like it had been included in the renovation. It had a saniflow toilet and unfortunately waste would come back up the toilet during the course of the day! This had happened before we even arrived as when I went into the bathroom for the first time there was waste in the toilet!

As per the last review my husband and I have had a similar experience. Room 4 felt dark and it was freezing cold and felt slightly damp with mildew on the wall at one side of the window, although we COULD detect an attempt to brighten the room up. The bathroom was poorly decorated and not as clean as it could be, also there were wires exposed at the back of the saniflow toilet. The standard of this room does not in any way reflect the price being charged especially when being compared to other B&B's in the village. Also the breakfast was barely average. We originally planned to stay here 2 nights but chose to move to another B&B in the village for the second night and the room there was of a far superior standard and is what we would expect to have for the same price as charged at The Old Millhouse .

This Inn has rave reviews for its food in particular. We only experienced an average breakfast and the restaurant appeared to be closed. We chose to eat elsewhere as the establishment lacked any sort of ambience for us. It appeared very run-down, especially outside at the back. The approach to the beer garden was through heaps of furniture. Access to the rooms meant going outside and back in through another door. The stairs are narrow and creaky, as was the bathroom floor. The loo roll holder fell off the wall as soon as touched. Nuff said. BUT PLEASE NOTE - Rita and her team where very pleasant and made us very welcome.

We stayed in Old Millhouse one night in our way from business. The room was very nice, cosy and nice comfortable bed. The staff very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and staff was very accommodating for the time we need to have the breakfast for our earlier start work. All around there is beautiful and this place is near to the harbour and blue peter restaurant what is great.

Was recommended this pub by a local so thought it would be worth a visit. We did receive a warm welcome from, I'm guessing, the land lady and was shown to a nice table. The surroundings felt like a traditional pub, wood fire and sport on the tv.The menu was limited and old school pub food. Had the steak and ale pie which was quite salty and the pastry was dry. The lasagne was lovely according to my partner. Children's menu was the usual chicken nuggets and chips etc but was a generous size and the children enjoyed it. The dessert menu wasn't extensive either. Sundaes or what sounded like microwave sponge puddings so we didn't give them a try.

Nice staff, lovely local fresh beer and good food and great prices. We had a lovely carvery on the Easter Sunday and all cooked to perfection. It wasn't a Rembrandt - it was what it was, good, wholesome, friendly and relaxed.

Visited one evening last week and was pleasantly surprised.Lovely Old Fashioned Inn, serving modern and traditional food at reasonable prices.Four adults all had different meals and all were very good. 3 year old had excellent meal from children's menu, which was varied and very well priced.A good choice of drinks was also available and had an interesting chat with mine host re local ciders.

Visited previously over the years as a watering hole and enjoyed every time. Had a table booked for 7 people and the food was excellent, I personally had the mixed grill and I will be going back again for the very same. Staff were on point with drinks and service and couldn't be more helpful.Slightly off the beaten track The Old Mill is worth seeking out, glad we did.

Love the food here, was even accommodated for an awkward eater. We loved the quiz night on Tuesday night and The Wreckers( local sea shanty group) on Wednesday. Friendly, clean and fun place that we will visit again very soon.

A very friendly welcome was given to us by Rita and her staff, and the locals. While we didn't eat there, I declare The Old Millhouse to have the best pint of Tribute in Polperro, so I drank as much of it as I could. Go and waste some time there!

Popped in here for a cream tea, deliciously warm scones with jam and clotted cream, a real treat. Very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, very friendly, would definitely recommend.

Only 3 stars I’m afraid. We have eaten here many times before and have never had any need to give a bad review. Today was different - and also different staff but many tables were not cleared and we waited a very long time for our order to be taken. Well into our meal before our coffee adrives apparently there had been a ‘mix up’ and the coffee was awful - really bitter.
