Always a good pub to go to have been for last 25 years

One day a year a coach from Barry south Wales goes to the races. When we arrive we get an excellent breakfast and a great atmosphere, really nice pub.

Bit of a barn of a place but nice enough, excellent pint of Shepherd Neame Spitfire though which is why I've given it 5 stars.

Great pub with sky, kareoke and up and coming attractions,we popped in there as the race track is close by,and honestly we found a little gem, will be going again on a specific date great fun

Handy watering hole halfway between Newbury Racecourse and the town centre. Cheap with lots of outside seating.

We went to the Pub today (Wednesday) at 12 noon and it was shut. We tried again an hour later & it was still shut. Disappointed. What are the pub timings?

Great landlord and very friendly welcoming pub team, real ale and cider fest 23rd-25th July.

£4.00 for a pint of real ale,I don't think so....bar staff were really friendly,but I ain't paying that for a pint...off I went to weatherspoons £1.99...I know!!....

Great pub, best place in Newbury for a Sunday roast pint of quality real ale and watch the footy. As a boozer should be... and Ken the Landlord is genuine and provides the warmest welcome. Where would we be without pubs like this to go to!

A typical local pub offering 3 cask beers of acceptable quality plus the usual keg beers. Also has quiz and bingo nights and live music. Some furniture in need of a face lift.

Played darts here, and had chance to watch the football in between matches. Great atmosphere and beer is a good price too!

Busy pub once again this was after the races. Did end up sitting outside, which has a very good seating area and covered which helps if its raining. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Popped in for a couple before seeing Madness,used to drink here years ago,hasn't changed much,not a posh place,but an old fashioned boozer,made a nice change.

It's an amazing place to spend time at. There is live music on some days and Karoke on Every Sunday. Every one is very friendly the staff, the customers etc.it was my first time but it didn't seem so.

Have been taking my children to the kareoke during hols for about a year and a half now never had problem but as of tonight will no longer step foot in there as my girls did nothing wrong tonight other than stood outside with me for 10 minutes upon walking back in my 13 year old was grabbed by arm by the landlord and told to go and sit down he then came over to our table and told myself and my mum if they couldn,t stay sat at table then they were no longer welcome.

Without doubt the best sporting pub in Newbury, great hosts and good home cooked type food. And on the road to the racecourse.

A fairly traditional pub situated on the edge of an industrial area going into a residential with Newbury race course local this has a good flow of trade There is a good selection of ales & it is well kept Improvements were being made to the outside area during my visit & I can imagine it will be very nice all be it that it is next to a very busy road

Nice pub, the house has a great facade. Small but nice beer garden, the people are nice. It can get really crowded at bingo, but the atmosphere is always good and super fun!

Attended the monthly folk session, held in a separate bar round the back.

Friendly, welcoming, and even though they don't do food on a Monday , they kindly cooked us some chips , we were most great full

Went here after a day at the races in July. The atmosphere and drink was excellent. Will definitely be back to visit on our next raceday!!!

A fantastic venue less than half a mile from Newbury Racecourse. Great real ales and lagers. Cask Marqued ales and quality approved Guiness. Fantastic food and really friendly staff. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourselves! Under new ownership since October 2014. Live music also available at weekends plus sports bar including pool and darts. Weekly quizzes and monthly pop quiz.Karaoke every Sunday night and folk night the 2nd Friday of every month. I feel compelled to write this review as the new owners have really turned this pub round!

The best Sunday lunch ever. Just tastes as if you cooked it yourself. Very Friendly staff.
