Donnington Grove in West Berkshire

Nice venue in a lovely location. Have stayed at the hotel a couple of times and very nice comfortable rooms. Have also visited the venue for events and enjoyed good food. Very helpful staff

I must say, the golfers are extremely friendly here. A group of them were repeatedly yelling, 'Excuse me' to attract the attention of me and my human mummy. It took us a while to realise the racous yelling (unbefitting to the location) was at us. When a woman shrilled, 'Hello', we thought perhaps it was us they were so eager to greet. Having no time to waste even for such friendliness, Mummy simply waved back politely but briefly at their enthusiastic waving, and we continued our journey. Thankfully, the 100 or so geese that frequent the lawn flew away and didn't want to befriend us. We were neither of us, in a sociable mood.

Absolutely stunning golf course, well worth a playing 🏌🏼‍♀️⛳ But I give them full credit for hosting John Gaunt School prom night ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice for my stepdad to take his grandson to in his classic car 👍🏼

Best golf course I have played on. Love it!

Such a beautiful location with amazingly helpful and polite staff. Room was huge and beds comfortable with nice shower products. The food in the Resturant was top quality and the bar/ Resturant staff willing to advise and assist. I would be happy to recommend to anybody wishing a quiet time away. I do not like golf but the patrons were well behaved and cheerful. Lovely holiday

This is a great golf course, unfortunately let down by a sorry excuse of a halfway hut.

Lovely old House with a history. Nice walks around the grounds and nearby castle gatehouse to visit. Has a golf course too if that's your thing. Food in the restaurant was good, and breakfast enjoyable too (the coffee is very good). Close by to Newbury if you fancy a wander into town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely weekend there.

It's a 3 star hotel. Location is pretty, but the interior is looking a little shabby, although we attended a very nice wedding there. Staff are very attentive.

A good spacious, cosy room - lodge. At less than £90 with breakfast an absolute bargain 🤩 On approach to the hotel reception you get a feel for the golf course, walking routes and amazing scenery around this hotel. Staff at the reception were friendly and helpful and gave good directions to the lodge. The room was lovely and warm when I entered and well lit. A nice walk in shower also. Good access ♿ around the room. Tea, coffee ☕, biscuits, still water complimentarily provided 🤩 The bed was nice and comfy. The TV signal was great 👍😃 WiFi was great: WiFi code is: Donnington1 A fan, ironing board, iron was provided in the wardrobe. Complimentary shower gels and moisturizer 🧴 in the bathroom also 💪💓 Breakfast was served in the restaurant adjacent reception. Again the staff were great, and the bar and restaurant were nice and tidy/clean 🫧. A small selection of continental breakfast and a à la carte menu for full English, eggs Benedict, eggs royale, bacon 🥓 sandwich etc. Food was very good. I would have given a full five if it weren't for the minor maintenance/cleanliness bits in the lodge. All in all a great stay, certainly recommended and I'll be back the next time I'm in Newbury.
