Although slightly expensive, the breakfast/brunch was excellent. Good atmosphere and the full breakfast is definitely worth a try

Dreadful service, second time I’ve been there in 3 months and shocking management and service. I’ve never been in a pub where every single one of the staff are blatantly rude. It seems to be a trend reading other reviews, I’ll stick with The Alex thanks.

Booked the fanzone and was a bit unsure of atmosphere and food as thought it might be all style and no substance but arrived, lovely welcome by the team all decked out in footy shirts, great spot near the giant screens, fast service on the app and amazing food, like street food style but quality and well priced. Great pre and post game music too, what a vibe!

Great night for the Euros, food was top notch, fast and friendly service and they had a special euros beer on too! Can’t wait to see how great this place is if England ever turn up for a game!

This is the place to be for the Euros!!! Screens are everywhere throughout the pub, including one outside. The atmosphere is excellent, quick, well-made drinks and friendly, fun service. Food is also excellent 👌

Great pre theatre dinner spot, food portions were generous and had a lovely evening, so much so that we popped back in after the show. Top tip - try their new euros beer, wow!

Had the roast beef roast dinner yesterday - very disappointed. Overall it was all lukewarm. Beef was fatty, roast potatoes small and very soggy, Yorkshire pudding cold and ‘old’ tasting. It wasn’t much better than a frozen roast dinner! For the price I was extremely dissatisfied. Would definitely not recommend.

Lunch with family, we were first people there yet it took an hour and a half for all the food to arrive. When my food arrived it was stone cold. Returned to the bar and told them I was returning it as it was cold to be met with "oh ok". No apology or attempt to rectify. When they brought the bill over there was no asking if everything was ok or anything, food had been removed at my request from the bill. Despite this they still decided to put on the "optional" gratuity, its optional...dont put it on automatically, especially when you didnt deserve it. When asked to be removed it was met with a bad reaction and waiter stormed off. As well as that, when I had sent the food back, the open kitchen area had the chef moaning and looking at me as if I had offended his family. Suggest not having grumpy chef at the front when he is throwing his toys out his pram. I wrote a review on google to which I was told to email them, they never responded and also removed there google map listing.

I went there to meet a friend I waited 30 minutes to ask if could buy a drink the bartender was acting like I was invisible I'm 6 feet tall and black they was asking everyone around me if they been served but me. I'm used to think like this so I just left but felt proper discriminated proper racist.

We called in here for lunch with family including two very small children and had a lovely meal. The roast chicken was excellent. Portion size was big and service was friendly. I would not hesitate to return.

A really disappointing experience - booked Sunday evening table hoping to experience the famous roasts. When we arrived, I asked the waitress explicitly whether all roasts were still available, which she confirmed. Order was placed five minutes later, only to be told by the same waitress that no roasts was available anymore! We had ordered drinks and it was therefore too late to leave, She then took our food order by heart without taking down any notes. Food was delivered to five out of six diners - and only one missing food was the youngest member of the group (age 10) who should really have been served first. She gave no reason, except that the food was coming, but another 20 minutes went past with no follow-up. We had to go up to the kitchen to find out that they were still cooking the food - clearly she had forgotten to put that dish through with the rest of the order, but could not really even admit her mistake. One other dish was missing and another one was not as described on the menu, but by the time, we were completely fed up with the whole experience. The manager did strike out a couple of drinks from the final bill, but unfortunately that was not enough to make up for a very poor evening. We will not be returning.

We booked to go for lunch for father's Day joint with my dad's birthday as we had been before and had a lovely Sunday lunch. It was going to be busy inevitably due to the occasion however the wait for the main courses was over an hour and when you are watching other people's food go out before your own with out any communication from any of the staff it does become frustrating. We also felt that £9 for a small 'pot' of strips of squid is over priced. The Mediterranean salad main also looked more like a starter as all if consisted of was giant couscous, sliced tomatoes and butternut squash. We did subtly complain and Sam (the manager) very kindly removed the cost of the main meals from the bill as he agreed the wait was unacceptable. We will definitely return as we were looked after I'm the end. It was just a bit of an anticlimax in comparison to our previous experience. The food was very tasty and we had a nice day overall.

Meet friends Mid week their choice to find they have had a change of Management from the last time I visited. ( see past review ) The bar staff were great very helpful and friendly. We were informed of the change of management and I made a joke about not going to get the for two meal I was offered under the old management ( I was not looking to reclaim under old management ) The guy behind the bar said he would speak to senior management who were at the time in a meeting about it and to my surprise they said would honour it even with out seeing the Email sent to me by previous management. I went for the tried and tested fish & chips the food arrived Hot and tasty We were there for a good few hours and could not fault the level of service we received at all times. This level of service has restored my faith in the Old Frizzle so I will be returning.

What a massive disappointment! There are much better places in Wimbledon to enjoy Sunday Lunch. Roast beef was tasteless, the Yorkshire pudding was stone cold and the plate was full of cabbage. In an effort to get some taste in the food I asked for Horseradish sauce and was given a small portion. When I asked for more I was told they had run out! Probably because other diners had the same idea as me! £19.50 is outrageous, or so I thought... Until my daughter ordered lacklustre sausages and mash at £16.50! Again the food was luke warm and not very appetising. I will not visit again and would urge other people to walk on by.

Mother’s Day lunch. very warm welcome and great service, Jack was brilliant with my children and was able to make a few changes to their lunch which made them really happy, The chef Stuart also came out to speak to us regarding all my wife’s allergies, he put us all at ease knowing that he had excellent knowledge of the dishes that she could have. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning 10 out of 10.

First time here at a friend’s recommendation, and really enjoyed it. Great choice of drinks, quality of food excellent. Atmosphere really good, and a remarkable number of TV screens for watching football (Indeed, there were even different sports on different screens). Staff very friendly; a big shout out to Zak for finding a table for us and checking up to make sure we were being looked after. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Once upon a time, this pub had attentive, well-trained staff, a friendly and competent customer-focused manager, and wi-fi that worked. Losing any of these would be unfortunate, losing all three is shocking.

Went to The Old Frizzle for a birthday lunch with family. An all round fantastic experience. A great atmosphere, excellent customer service by Liam, manager on shift and an extra shout out to Stuart, the chef. His food was absolutely amazing. Can't decide what was nicer, the curry or the custard. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for, an absolute must have. Definitely be back. Thanks to you all.

My sister had booked a table here because we were going to the Wimbledon Theatre and wanted a bite to eat before hand. We sat down at our table and had to wait ages to get served. When the waitress came she took our order of 2 Beef, 2 Chicken Burgers and 4 Tonic waters. After about 30 minutes we still hadn't got our drinks. I was about to complain when the waitress brought over 4 bottles of Tonic water and that was it ! No glasses or ice for the drinks. I asked for them and away she went, disappeared for ages. In the end I went up to the bar myself to get them. When I got back the burgers had arrived, well 3 of them as a technical hitch meant the kitchen were not aware we wanted 4 and we were told we would have to wait an hour for another chicken burger. The Chicken burger that did arrive was burnt and rock hard. We were all fed up by this point so we asked the waitress for the bill. We were in fact only charged for 2 beef burgers and I wasn't happy that a service charge was also added when the service we got was appalling. Are Staff here actually trained ? Common sense isn't common here. The food and service was very poor so I won't be back.

I’ve been going to this pub for a few years now, mainly because it’s a lovely venue and it can have a great atmosphere, with live music and dancing on the weekends. However, I feel compelled to leave a review because of the consistently poor bar service we experience, which has now led me and my friends to drink elsewhere. The bar often has plenty of bar staff on shift, but it still takes forever to get served. The staff often seem like they don’t want to be there and would rather stand around and chat than serve drinks. I could be patiently waiting at the bar for 10 minutes, while other people rock up and get served straight away. The staff are renowned for this, as you can see on several reviews. I’ve worked in a pub myself, so it frustrates me how difficult they find it to even try and serve people in a fair order, or at least to ask who is next! (Appreciate it can be difficult to keep track when it’s busy). I’m sure some of the staff are polite and friendly, but based on the number of times I’ve had a bad experience, I feel it is likely more of a management problem that has filtered down to the staff. It would be such a shame to lose more customers because of this, when you have such a great venue.

He estado en Frizzle durante mucho tiempo y quería apoyar su reapertura y he disfrutado de mis visitas antes de Covid. Reservamos para 3 personas para mi cumpleaños para cenar el 25 de agosto, cuando llegamos en el momento adecuado, ¡no había mesa para nosotros! Esperó y el hombre movió a una pareja a una mesa diferente, así que teníamos su mesa original, ¡no estaba lavada, desinfectada o incluso limpiada en absoluto! | Nos dijeron que había que esperar 45 minutos para la comida, ¡pero esperamos al menos 20 minutos para que nos preguntaran qué queríamos beber! Been coming here for years, the back room is the best place in Wimbledon to watch a good match. Book a table in advance though as it fills up fast...Good food and beers.2 small negatives from our most recent visit - they seem to be doing table service now, but there seems to be confusion between table and bar service and we didn’t know at various points whether to wait for our waitress to come back, or go order at the bar as she hadn’t been past for ages. The bar staff similarly didn’t seem to know whether to serve people at the bar or go prepare table service orders.And the big sharing roast - beef very over cooked, pork was non existent, gravy very watery and there were no veggies except spuds carrots and parsnips. No greens in sight!This said, we’ve eaten here many times before and always had a good meal so this was no doubt a rare off day.

I always visit the Old Frizzle when I'm in Wimbledon. It has a great atmosphere especially on a Saturday night. I've always enjoyed the food and would definitely recommend.

Been a couple time for drinks, love the atmosphere. Eventually decided to try the food and had a delicious fish and chips. Would definitely recommend. The fairy lights on the windows and the pub itself looks great.

Visited The Old Frizzle on a busy Saturday evening. Plenty of staff to serve you and it is very spacious so you can find a quiet area if you want to. Good range of beers and wines and it also has an outdoor seating area too. Worth a visit before going for a meal.

Gina was lovely and kept our drinks topped up, we didn’t even have to ask! The full English was great, even the vegan version. Had a lovely birthday brunch!

Reservamos una mesa antes de irnos al cine. La ubicación es conveniente. Algunos tenían asados que estaban bien, hubiéramos preferido más verduras en el plato solo unas pocas chirivías y una zanahoria. Otros eligieron de la amplia selección de menú. Vinimos aquí un sábado a media mañana para darle a este lugar un desayuno tardío. Aunque, es un pub, los desayunos pueden ser buenos en los pubs. Sin embargo, pagamos 30. 00 incluyendo un cargo por servicio para tener un desayuno inglés completo "bien hecho". Todo había sido cocinado a menos de una pulgada de su vida y era una degustación muy normal. Los tomates y la ensalada parecían haberse quedado en el estante por más de una semana. En realidad, hubiéramos estado yendo a un McDonald's para el desayuno por la mitad del precio.

I do like the Old Frizzle... It's got a really nice atmosphere, live music/sports on tv is good and the drinks are priced pretty reasonably. The location is also good, with some tables outside too.

Oh my goodness, the sharing roast is AMAZING. We’ve been here for breakfast before and it was lovely but the sharing roast is excellent value, so much meat! The pork in particular was delicious, like pork belly, it was all brilliant.

Very pleasantly surprised by the quirky pub/restaurant. Unusual décor, friendly staff and great food. Loved it.

Tonight was the first time I visited The Old Frizzle. I booked a table for 6pm until 10pm for 4 people. The table wasn't ready on arrival and was taken half way through the booking. Service was poor, sat waiting to order drinks and again for food. Not enough cutlery was on the table so had to wait roughly 5 minutes for cutlery whilst our food sat there getting cold. No check back took place to check everyone was happy. Then plates were taken when not everyone had finished eating, leading to one person feeling particularly uncomfortable finishing her food. I must however say that the food was lovely.

What a busy place... I can say that the below review may come across a bit negative but it was an extremely busy night and the staff could not have been friendly

We had a great night last night. I organised surprise 40th birthday drinks for my partner. Meg was very helpful and the staff in the pub put up all the decorations for me (thank you). The band were brilliant. Good night all round.

Entramos en el pub con la familia. Después de que me ignoraran en la mesa, fui a buscarme al bar. Tuve suficiente en ese punto y me fui! !

Called in here for a pre theatre drink. The Guiness had a tcp like after taste, the staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving the few of us who were waiting for service. They couldn’t find the Cava on the wine list so I paid £28 for a a bottle of Prosecco, which was quite nice. The bench that runs across the side of the room is too narrow to be comfortable, other than that it was brilliant.

Wanted a quick drink before a meal elsewhere. Never been here before. Not sure I will go back again. The bar service was the slowest I have experienced for a long time. More staff collecting glasses than serving drinks. Took us 10 minutes to get served. Add in the other annoying issue of seats at the bar meaning you can't actually get to it any way!! Staff didn't seem to rush either. Not good for a Friday night.

Cuando llegamos al Old Frizzle, parecía atractivo y ya estaba lleno a primera hora de la tarde. No nos decepcionó y disfrutamos un poco de la excelente cerveza de barril local llamada Copperleaf junto con el sabroso curry vegetariano. After a period of illness, back at work and a long day (supporting people) I wanted a quick drink with a friend. The staff were so slow and people were getting served before me. I asked to be served and told I had to wait so I had enough and left and got laughed at and sarcastic comments from staff. I am 46 and have never been treated so badly by staff. Horrified. Will never go there again.

Went here for a couple of drinks and snacks with friends to play some games and service is reasonably quick although the bartenders at times seemed to look unfriendly. Although they do have a selection of games to keep yourself entertained as well as a pub quiz on Sundays.

Such a friendly lovely place- lovely staff. Watched rugby here before and so impressed by atmosphere. Would really recommend!!

Owing to working in Wimbledon on Saturday, and the early opening hours, we ended up eating lunch and dinner here.

We had lunch at The Old Frizzle recently and it was disappointing. The burger in particular wasn't good at all - the patty was overcooked and dry and the price for add ons (£1.50 for a slice of cheese!?) is bordering on insulting. The chips weren't good either, they tasted like they had been cooked days before and then refried when they were served. My last gripe is we asked our server which IPAs they had on tap, and after she listed them and we chose one, we discovered it wasn't an IPA at all. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. Not for a meal at least.

Mi madre y yo fuimos para el almuerzo y tuve una comida perfectamente bien, tanto que pedimos una ensalada y compartieron la batatas fritas, y la comida era realmente buena. El servicio era genial, aunque en la justicia sólo había otra mesa en uso en el tiempo que estuvimos allí. No había estado antes de que incitan el menú, pero fue un pequeño lugar para almorzar y probablemente regresaría.

What a very cordial place The Old Frizzle is, we ventured in after the matinee at the theatre. A very nice selection of wine and we enjoyed some heated Camembert - I say heated because I wasn’t paying attention to the menu’s description but it was delicious. The bar has an eclectic unique decor and the staff and customers both were warm and friendly. Just a very nice place indeed!

We got a seat, didn't need a reservation but I think it's a good idea to book. We had a steak dinner, a chicken burger and a pie. We had our meals within 15 minutes, the waiter and waitress were happy to get drinks and were attentive to us even though it as very busy. Would be happy to go again.

We went to the Old Frizzle last night before going to see Bill Bailey at Wimbledon Theatre only to find that this experience was one of the bigger jokes of the evening.

Went for a pre theatre meal at the Frizzle, the place was not particularly busy but it took a while for our drinks to arrive. We placed our food order 90 minutes before the theatre show started. We waited 70 minutes for burgers, and nothing came out so we had to leave and just pay for drinks as we didn't have enough time to eat.

A pesar de leer críticas negativas en el servicio, nuestra particular camarera era precioso. Yo puedo responder que el pastel de pescado con huevos escalfados era tan sabrosa y pedimos uno de cada y compartido todos budín entre los 4. Todos fueron igualmente delicioso! Sin duda volver

wanted a quick bite before going to a musical show at the nearby theatre. Staff really helpful and found us a table for 8 with no problem especially as it was a Saturday evening. Food choice and service good for a quick meal

Very disappointed the bar staff were rude. We had a table but the staff stood around chatting so eventually I cleared it myself. The place needed a good clean

Nice place, we always go to the old frizzle for a bier after work. it's a pretty big pub but sometimes it's hard to find a spot even at the bar. Nice selection of biers and nice food. Wine and cocktails cost a little more than the average but it's a really nice place to chill out with some friends.

Went for a few drinks with friends - it was a nice area, nice environment and there was a decent range of drinks avaliable but the bar staff although very friendly where very slow at serving and they didn't have an ice bucket for the prosecco that we brought.

Had a lovely lunch at the Old Frizzle on Wednesday. Staff we're all friendly and welcoming. We placed our order after a table of 12, which worried us, as we were going to the theatre at 2. Our lovely waiter ensured that we received our lunches quickly, so we had time to eat them without rushing before we went onwards. Our food was delicious and beautifully presented. I look forward to returning

Tomamos unas copas y algo de comida, entonces fuimos a pedir otra ronda, por alguna razón, a pesar de que no estaban tan lleno que no podríamos conseguir sirve. Aunque al menos dos grupos a ambos lados de nosotros, cuando lo mencioné, el personal del bar era maleducado y deliberadamente sirve la gente muy smug y hacer evidente este era para nosotros el viento.

Me and the other half got dinner here on a Monday night before a show at Wimbledon Theatre because it was nearby. We both had the chicken burger which was fantastic and staff were friendly. Food came out quickly too.

Pub was ok but my friend went out for a cigarette, near closing time and was all of a sudden barred. The bouncers were completely out of order and really aggressive when there was no need to be. Food was average as well.

Had been treated like a leper in a royal sounding down the road, so popped in here v or a few beer instead, nice and friendly and not to expensive. Might need to turn the lights up for us olden though!

Food was loverly staff are very friendly location is great, I had Shepard’s pie and it was really nice with big chunks of meat that fell apart no knife needed lol

Ate here as a family on Saturday lunchtime; the staff were great and coped well with various arrival delays on our part. The food (burger, English breakfast, salads) were good. The venue is basically in two halves: at the front is a family-friendly eatery section and at the back a large area where they have two large-screen projectors for sports (where I watched rugby and football on the Sunday). Good selection of beer, ale and wine. Being London (I live in Herefordshire) I of course found the drinks prices staggering (a pint of ale £4.70; Herefordshire £2.70), but they are normal for the area.

Quick dinner catch up with a foodie friend from out of town.The Old Frizzle was conveniently placed between all parties and got good reviews so off we go.Relatively quiet at 7:30 on a Tuesday but good to see customers there on a weekdayVery friendly and polite staff. Reasonable prices and a good range on the menu.Good beer selection and tasty too.Bar snack deal of 3 snacks for £13 makes for good starters and the portions were a reasonable size also.Delicious salad and a couple of (slightly dry) burgers to finish us off.

This corner pub was a pleasant surprise. I happened to be venturing in Wimbledon on the weekend and opted for dinner here on a Saturday night. The service was great - the staff were friendly and polite. The food was reasonably priced and tasty, with a good variety on the menu (ranging from fancy bangers and mash to gnocchi with wild mushrooms), and most importantly the vibe and music being played was awesome (kudos to whoever's playlist it was!). If I lived in the area, I would definitely drink and eat here more often. There's a nice casual, cosy yet charming quality to this pub - so if you're in Wimbledon and in need of a gathering spot, this is a good shout!

We visited as a large group as part of Jaynes hen do! Our waitress did a great job with such a large group of loud women! Every course was amazing and it was 3 courses for £20! Best nachos, steak and brownies I've ever had! The waitress made sure she had everyone's order correct and even remembered who ordered what when she came out with the food! We were greeted by two gift bags full of sweets balloons and glow sticks which was a very special touch! The live music wasn't much to our taste but can see why people do enjoy it! Thoroughly enjoyed coming and will return again if we are in the area!

What a great place to eat great atmosphere lovely happy staff Dog friendly which is a bonus. Will suit all age groups. To keep your children entertained they have a cupboard full of games books what more could you ask. At the back they have to large TVs showing the sports channels. Comfy sofas Have a great menu to choose from great value for money You must try a dessert they are to die for.

Overpriced, nothing special can be said about the food which is mediocre at best. The pies come in a metallic bowl full of gravy, covered with a pie base 'lid' which doesn't make it a pie in the true sense of the term! I've had sunday roast here too which has been disappointing..

Me habían recomendado el lugar para tomar algo mientras ves el fútbol, pero decidí entrar a desayunar. Buen desayuno ingles para tener fuerzas el resto del día. Atención perfecta

Been coming here regularly for around a year now, It offers a nice relaxed chilled environment in the day and can get busy on weekends. Good food and drink options, I have eaten here a few times and haven't been disappointed (really good veggie nachos) great for watching sport as well. Outside is also nice.

Such a shame. We were a party of 10 enjoying some drinks but had the most terrible customer service experience. The guy allocated to our table first of all told off one of our party and then smashed a glass (accidentally) into the lap of another person which led to a lot of glass and a bleeding leg. But unfortunately no apology, despite numerous requests. In the end, the manager intervened and an apology was forthcoming but not from the waiter in question who stormed off. Such a pity. If you're not cut out for customer service, please don't take a front of house role in a pub. Can't recommend, probably won't go back and we spend a LOT of time in Wimbledon.

I have lived in wimbledon for 8 months now and choose not to eat here due to every restaurant being a bang average franchise. A few days ago we were walking past and popped in to read the menu, and it looked impressive, so we gave it a shot! We asked the waitress what she would recommend and for the first 3/4 dishes we asked about her reply was 'oh I dunno I've not had it'. It's a big menu, and we felt a little lost and needed some direction! We had mac and cheese balls, calamari, smoked haddock fishcakes with poached egg and a chive hollandaise, the wild mushroom gnocchi special, and the peri thigh burger. The food was on point. We were apprehensive as the menu is quite extensive for the size of the kitchen, and the restaurant, but we were more than impressed when it arrived. We are both restaurant managers and the food blew us away. However, we ordered 3 starters between 2 of us and as soon as we finished them they were cleared. We were going to go outside for a cigarette and before we'd even put our jackets on they were cleared and we had mains sitting in front of us. Probably around 20 seconds between the starters being cleared and mains being delivered. You could tell they had been sitting on the pass waiting to come out, as the top of my bun had started to go black from the lights. No drama, we ditched the cigarette idea and ate straight away. As mentioned before, the food was brilliant. I would have liked another bun for my burger as the one I had really was burnt on top, however, after both starters and mains being delivered, nobody came to check to make sure everything was okay with our food, and nobody was around to ask. After we had finished eating, we asked 2 members of staff about dining here on a Sunday, as this is the day we usually go for lunch together and thought we'd found a new hot spot! Unfortunately, nobody really seemed to know what was going on on a Sunday, despite having blackboards outside advertising Sunday's. Overall the food was awesome, but for sure the only stand out from the visit.
