Lovely place to stop over before or after your walk. Beautiful gardens and seating inside, staff are very friendly and attentive. Cakes and sandwiches were amazing!

A second visit on a balmy spring afternoon found the tearoom very busy. However service was efficient and friendly, and the cake was delicious. Many other establishments could learn from their example.

The Nags Head Inn

27/02/2019: We had been out walking along the Montgomery Canal my wife and her sister and myself. We called in for a loo break and a drink. We have eaten here a few times in the past, but just called in for drinks this time. Friendly staff, and place was welcoming as usual. Sunday was busy but we got seated and rested up for awhile looking forward to walk back as the weather was very good as well. Hope the next time to stay longer and have a meal once again.
06/11/2018: Had travelled up to see family in Berriew over bonfire weekend,sister-in-law booked table for five people late Sunday afternoon at 3:45pm. Three of us ordered the lighty spicy crab cakes, very tasty, one had the cauliflower and sage soup, the other one of us ordered the rillettes of salmon with trimmings very nice we enjoyed all our starters. Now on to the mains, the beef and the lamb had finished so we ordered three pork dinners, one chicken supreme, and one duck, with seasonal vegetables of cauliflower cheese and mixed greens, the vegetables could have been cooked a tad longer to our liking but were still good. The supplement price of £5 for the duck was taken off because of no beef and lamb. We enjoyed all our meals, very filling, a few soft drinks and a bottle of wine and a bottle of water helped it along. No desserts, the food was from the fixed or set price menu I think, ranging from about £13 to about £24 for 3 courses roughly if I remember right. Different menus and specials again if I remember. We have been here 3 or 4 times now over the past couple of years still good, staff friendly and helpful. For 5 starters 5 mains with drinks it was a very reasonable price, hope to return again in the future.

Red Lion Inn

11/11/2018: Stopped off on a Sunday while driving past. We always comment on how beautiful the place looks, so we decided to try a Sunday lunch.
22/12/2018: Went yesterday to celebrate my birthday with husband and friends. Our friend has to have gluten free and that was no problem with them checking every little detail so that his needs were fulfilled. The steak and ale pie was so tasty and the sticky toffee pudding was as light as air.
