We hadn’t been to this restaurant for a long time and had been wanting to try it since the new owners had taking it on as we had heard very good things about it. We weren’t disappointed.

Old Boat House Cafe

21/03/2019: We spotted this cafe after a walk along the beach and saw it had a 5 star hygiene rating. We went in the following morning for breakfast. The staff are delightful - friendly, polite and very helpful (we were asking about transport in the area and staff were very knowledgeable and happy to help). There are nice views of the beach/sea from some of the seats. There’s also a lot of seating outside, just beside the beach huts. It’s currently £6.50 for a big breakfast or £8 for an even bigger one! The sausages and bacon were both tasty and the eggs cooked perfectly. You can have a pot of tea for 2 for £3.50 (large pot plus pot of water). There are vegan options for many of the items. Dogs are very welcome. I’d highly recommend this cafe.
18/02/2019: Like many others...enjoyed a bracing beach walk then rewarded ourselves with tea and bacon butties at this great cafe.A few years ago It had a fire and was refurbished but continues to be the same friendly, welcoming and good value establishment it always has been. Check opening times, they are reduced over winter. Go on a Sunday (9am opening) and you may well get to see the adjacent RNLI practicing. If you discover local writer Jim Kelly, you may read about this cafe!!

Market Bistro

20/11/2018: Last of our four restaurants during Norfolk restaurant Week and a welcome return to our favourite. We are most fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality in our home town. I started with the confit duck yolk terrine, Mrs T went for the smoked salmon. Mains saw me take the ox cheek whereas fishy wife enjoyed Pollock. The chef Richard is exceptionally fond of beetroot as an ingredient, not my favourite but it is cleverly deployed here. We both rounded our lunch with the pistachio sponge –delicious. We continue to enjoy this first class restaurant and hope you will also.
17/12/2018: Went here for a surprise meal with my wife and some friends, and found it to be very good food and very welcoming staff, which makes a change today
