Purfleet Brasserie in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Recently, we held my friends surprise 30th birthday meal here and everything was fabulous. The staff were lovely and so accommodating throughout the whole booking, the food was amazing - we had over 40 guests & everything was served at the same time, hot & fresh! It was the perfect place to hold a party meal and everyone said how lovely the food, place & staff were! Emily, especially, was amazing throughout - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, we had such a great evening! Xx

The food at Purfleet is superb. We had a wonderful Christmas menu of turkey, pork or salmon followed by some seriously sweet dessert treats, so huge props to the chef. Delicious! The atmosphere could've been a little more festive, however we were the after work crowd so am sure it livened up later on.

We had a Christmas dinner here and the food was lovely couldn't fault it. Everyone enjoyed it and staff very nice.

What a brilliant experience! Best restaurant in kings lynn. I visited Purfleet Brasserie following recommendation from a few friends that had already been that said it was fabulous… how right they were. The restaurant itself is welcoming and relaxed with a lovely atmosphere. The walls are decorated in contemporary artwork from local artists (which you had the option to purchase) which i thought was a brilliant touch. This gave a very artsy and premium feel to the venue. The music played was light and just at the right volume that worked in harmony with the hum off conversation being had in the already busy restaurant. As i walked in I heard someone say that the burger was the best one they’ve ever had! What a brilliant start to our evening! We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful server that later introduced herself as the manager. Her service was absolutely impeccable, very attentive to our needs and looked after us so well. She took our drinks order (espresso martini for my friend and a large pinto noir for myself), that came promptly and tasted amazing. The espresso martini is an absolute must try and the wine selection is one of the best i’ve seen in King’s Lynn. We shared a selection of starters which all were superb - I recommend the chicken wings, meatballs and fishcakes. All beautifully presented, packed with flavour and portioned well. Following the comment I heard about the burger I thought I must give it a go… good decision. Perfectly cooked on the grill, beautifully seasoned and accompanied by a generous portion of sides. My friend had some dietary requirements and allergies that we made our server (Emily) aware of, she was more than happy to cater our meal to suit our needs without much fuss which i thought added to our experience. She had the Sirloin Steak (gluten free, no pepper, diary free and nut allergy). Wow, brilliant cut bursting with flavour (even more so for the price). Overall the experience we had was just perfect and i would be back a million times over, my new favourite restaurant by a mile. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu! Well done Emily and her team for what she has done there, you should be proud. This is just what our town needed.

Our expectations were high – good photos on the website, good photos and almost exclusively 5-star reviews on Trip Advisor, and pricing in the higher of the two Norfolk Restaurant Week bands (2 courses for £23 rather than 2 courses for £16). What a disappointment, though, compared with the two other venues we had visited for lunch during Norfolk Restaurant Week – both in the higher band and both of which we had enjoyed so much we continued on to 3 courses. We arrived at 1.00pm on a Friday, and the restaurant was empty apart from one other couple. (Another couple arrived during our meal.) We ordered drinks (sparkling mineral water for both of us, and glass of wine for my partner). We then ordered starters (Korean chicken wings, and a fishcake) and mains (a burger, and a mushroom risotto). The starters arrived, and were acceptable but unremarkable. The chicken wings gave no sense of Korea and there were too many for a starter. The fishcake was edible but had very little flavour. The drinks order hadn’t arrived, though the water was brought when we reminded our server. The wine never appeared at all. The server spent a lot of time on her computer. Our main courses arrived and looked appetising. However, both lacked flavour – the only distinguishable flavour for the burger came from the bacon that garnished it, and the only detectable flavour in the risotto was the cheese sprinkled over it (surprising as the ingredients used were good). I can say that this was the worst mushroom risotto I have ever had and it is a particular favourite of mine. Seasoning appeared to be seriously lacking in both meals yet there were no condiments on the tables, nor any offered. We made a valiant effort but gave up and left most of our meal. We explained why. The server apologised and reduced the bill but for us this was to have been a celebratory meal and we were left very disappointed. The chef was present and visible, but never approached us about our concerns. We continued later to a restaurant we enjoy ,and tried to overcome the earlier experience. We shall certainly not be returning to the Purfleet Brasserie

Just had an excellent evening meal here tonight. This is a welcoming modern restaurant with attentive service. The food is freshly cooked in front of you to an excellent standard. I can recommend the teriyaki salmon dish and the burger is excellent also! Well worth a visit!

Went for a Sunday roast and I must say it's one of the best roasts if not the best in lynn. The yorkies were mega 😍 service was good and quick !! All staff were amazing and helped with my fussy eating kids!! Couldn't recommend this place enough 10/10. Will certainly be back

The welcome was good, and a relaxed atmosphere with friendly,attentive staff. The roast beef was very good. A variety of veg not over cooked and really tasty. The restaurant was a bit bright and lacked atmosphere for me, but I would go back as the food was great and good value for money. Recommended.

My friends and I had a delicious meal followed by some great live music! We found it to have such a welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. One of the group is vegan and she was really impressed with the selection and quality of the dish. Would highly recommend!

Went on a Saturday night we couldn't get a table at another place. So glad we couldn't because this place was wonderful. The staff were lovely, the food was amazing, the drinks where brilliant. Would highly recommend and will definitely go again when we are next in King's Lynn. This is a hidden gem.

Fantastic meal, wouldn't normally opt for a Burger when eating out, however "this is a tasty burger" seriously the best I have eaten out in a long time and the flavours were fantastic! Asked for it without bacon (personal preference). Just delicious! The Belly pork stir fry was beautiful, a good level of flavours not at all overpowering or rich sticky sweet like a lot of these dishes can often be, could taste all of the ingredients, just delicious! With a small menu I can tell already that this place is going for quality over quantity and the deserts? Oh the deserts..! Vegetarian & Vegan options also available. With a lovely looking wine menu. Fantastic Cocktails with unmissable daily deals on those! Riverside seating available, beautiful art decor surrounding you inside and a very chilled atmosphere, I cannot recommend this family run brasserie enough! And we will definitely be returning. The only negative is the venue is tucked away and almost gets forgotten. A must try in Kings Lynn! We Loved it!

Place is lovely and very friendly (dog friendly as well). I was disappointed with the food, I had a vegetarian burger with halloumi, and I was surprised to see that this was fried together with the chips. So, taste wasn’t great as it did taste like chips instead of halloumi. My partner has had a lasagna, and it seems like the chef mistaken the lasagna sauce and used the moussaka sauce as it has lentils in it, tasted good but not like a lasagna should taste. They should rethink the menu. Very friendly place tho.

Had dinner here with friends, and everything about it was fantastic. Friendly, welcoming service, excellent cocktails, wonderful food and all reasonable prices. The kitchen is right there by the bar, and the chef was great; he came and talked to us after our meal, and was very appreciative of our feedback. Very impressed!

Went for dinner with a friend on Thursday night. We sat outside above the canal which was very nice. The white wine was very nice and perfectly chilled. Both our starters and our main course were delicious. I had the Tuna Steak and my friend had the Burger. The service from Emily was lovely. The whole place has a nice feel to it. There was nothing I could comment on negatively. 5 Stars from me.

Couldn't be a friendlier service and the food was delicious!

There were 5 of us on a boys motorbike holiday on a friday evening in Kings Lynn looking for somewhere to eat. One of us suggested the Purfleet Brasserie based on some good review and we gave it a try. We were made very welcome and all the staff were so friendly. Four of us ordered the Ribeye Steaks and I must say it was the best steak i've had. Perfectly cooked and presented with very fresh salad and loads of peppercorn sauce.

Attended a friends hen party at Purfleet Brassiere and the food supplied was incredible. They also catered very well for the food allergies and vegetarians within our group! Staff are lovely and attentive and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend. Thankyou to the team for making our evening so enjoyable!

First time we tried here and it did not disappoint!!!! Bloody amazing!!! Me and my partner both had a roast and it is by far the best in Lynn!!! Top quality food all fresh and homemade!! Staff are very friendly and welcoming also!! Can’t believe it’s took us this long to come and try it here… we have definitely found our Sunday roast go to now!!! Thank guys 👍🏼

We had our work Christmas party here. The buffet was lovely and being gluten-free they advised me what I could have and then also did me a gluten-free burger and bun as well. The food was lovely and I will be going back as the staff were so helpful and went out of their way for me.

Good value during restaurant week with 3 lunch courses for £20. Unfortunately service was very very slow (possibly due to staff illness) with only one person running all of the table and front of house. Good location and a nice vibe here and the staff were friendly.

I’ve been going for a long time and the service is spot on. Really friendly people very professional and they know what they’re doing the food is fantastic the drinks fantastic also and great company I recommend it to everyone and anyone plus the artwork is pretty awesome!

My husband and I did a day trip to Kings Lynn from London. We were looking for a lunch spot and found the Purfleet Brasserie. What a find! Their first Sunday Roast Lunch was amazing. I just loved those veg, particularly the crunchy on the outside, soft inside roast spuds!! The beef was pretty great too with homemade horseradish sauce. I think this was almost the best meal we have had in the UK on this visit from Australia.

Great food with a fantastic venue

Overpriced. We had a table for 5 £14 for small macaroni cheese, chicken Schnitzel very dry with greasy chips. Not tge vest night out. £24 for lamp accompaniments OK ish.

Enjoyed the Korean street food event and was very impressed with the vegan options. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff, I would thoroughly recommend a visit!!

Having wandered into this cute little restaurant I was surprised at how spacious and airy it was. Being freshly opened everything was obviously new. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food really tasty. Good coffee and cocktails complimented the food. Still in the stages of being tweaked, I look forward to the completion of the balcony which will enhance the up and coming area that overlooks the small river. It is a credit to design and imagination and we will be going back for their themed food events.

Lovely new place. Friendly owners and good atmosphere. A refreshing addition to King's Lynn.
