Named after the WW2 Wellington bomber with details of an NZ squadron with local wartime operations. Great pub, good atmosphere. If the small car park at back is full, just park in large nearby playground car park and walk back.

The best pub in the area and is made that way because of the family that run it. Passionate about the names sake and memorabilia fills the pub, quite an extensive collection. Most of the locals drink lager and cider, but they still provide at least 2 cask pumps for us old fashioned folk. Most friendly and welcoming landlord.

We found this place purely by accident on the way back from RAF Marham on a Wednesday mid afternoon. The landlord was so welcoming and helpful, and although not doing food suggested we go to the take away a few doors down and bring the food back and eat it in the pub, cutlery and plates provided! He then gave us a very interesting potted history of the pub, which was fascinating. All in all a must to revisit! Thoroughly recommended!

The people was extremely friendly and inviting. Had such a laugh with them all. Was a really good night. Played lots of pool and they have darts. My partner was so excited over the urinals came out with a picture on his phone 😂 lovely pub. If you have a bad date there's plenty to read and lots of pictures to look at. Looks like a tiny pub from the outside but it's quite big, love the beer garden too. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for making us feel welcome. Fantasticly stocked“themed” events i.e. cider fest, ginboree, beer fest etc. The karaoke nights are brilliant along with the selections of music they have booked every month. I'd been to the Wellington before and had been impressed; usually the food is very good, but for sunday roast it is to be AVOIDED. The meat was very overcooked, especially the beef; extremely tough. The giant yorkshire puddings were store-bought and hard as a rock. Potatoes were cooked well but entirely unseasoned. All in all it very much reminded me of the roast you get in a hospital. For a place that normally has good food it was shocking. I could cook a better roast with my eyes shut.

I was looking forward to visiting this pub having just moved into the area. I walked in with my disability dog who was clearly coated as such when a gentleman stepped in front of me & said very brusquely “oi no dogs in here”. I explained he was my service dog, to which the person shrugged his shoulders & said “so what”. I said they would be very discriminatory not to allow me in. The man then turned to the bar manager & said “no dogs in here - have a word”. At this point I turned and left feeling quite humiliated as the pub was very busy. It’s a shame as from a military family had looked forward to seeing the place. I shall be sure to tell my military colleagues not to bother. Disgusting attitude.

It was late lunchtime (1.45pm today), when we arrived at The Wellington hidden away in Feltwell a mid West Norfolk village. In truth perhaps arriving late on a mid-week day our expectations might have been rather low. However everything about this popular pub/restaurant is a little bit exceptional. Firstly the establishment is a shrine to the Wellington WW2 Bomber Plane - I don't expect you would find more memorabilia anywhere else outside the Imperial War Museum! That said there is a really comfortable bar and a separate restaurant which is very much upmarket 'officers mess' perhaps a little old fashioned but impeccably furnished and like the rest of the establishment incredibly clean and well presented. So interesting, comfortable, welcoming, made us fell welcome,How about the food? They have a really good menu with basics you would expect from a pub, sandwiches, burgers, ham eggs and chips, sausage and mash, etc, to more adventurous daily specials. This makes it sound ordinary but the care, quality ingredients, and execution of these basic dishes set the Wellington well above its pub-grub competition. In some respects very Tom Kerridge! I had an excellent Steak and Kidney Suet Pudding, perfectly done really tasty filling outstanding in fact, (choice of veg and gravy on the side)My wife ate every scrap of her Smoked Haddock Fillet with Horseradish Mash on a bed of Spinach, topped with a poached egg and Hollandaise Sauce - she is quite a fussy eater and again I have to repeat that word it was excellent. Well done Wellington! Keep up the good work. Thank you.

We happened upon this venue on TripAdvisor as we were down in Thetford from West Yorkshire for our granddaughter’s birthday. Such a hidden gem. I did phone ahead to book but it wasn’t necessary. Such a friendly welcome from the owners and locals, the food and beer was great, interspersed with information about the area famed for the RAF connection from the hosts. Great value for money, a huge menu to choose from and such a friendly welcome. I agree with the comments about the deco, it could do with an update, but otherwise perfect.

We were a family gathering of eight. Unfortunately, two people were running about 10 minutes late, and we then had to hang around to be seated with a choice of a very cramped, busy bar or (as we chose) the room with the pool table. The menu is varied and suits meat, fish and veggie/vegan eaters. There is a separate vegan menu. The waiter, Christopher, was very chatty and informative at first, but later became over-familiar and kept butting into our conversations. His enthusiasm for good service needs to be tamed. Our family get together was for us (we hadn't all seen each other for a long time). Everyone enjoyed the food.

On a short break from Cornwall, we found this pub on the internet. The choice of ales is always changing and a right balance of light and darker ales which are very well kept indeed. The food was excellent and the service from the restaurant staff was exceptional. We appreciated the landlord's (Chris) warm welcome and kind words. If you are within range of this pub, don't miss it. This pub is everything a great pub should be and, from what we saw, a thriving community hub too. The Wellington at Feltwell appears from the outside to be a good high street pub, and it must indeed be a pleasant local, with a welcoming atmosphere. There is a car park and street parking if you’re lucky. In terms of food, its servings are a cut above standard pub fodder. The menu has some unusual items, and the food is very well prepared. Each dish is prepared individually for each guest. We ordered the chicken, bacon and chedder panini and the Brie with cranberry panini -- both were excellent. Fresh greens and cold slaw on the side were very tasty. Best onion rings we've had in a long time. The pheasant dish was a hit. Great dessert options. Creme brulee was outstanding!! Food delicious and served hot, we all had the Sunday roast meal deal, two courses for£12. We chose pork, beef and chicken and were asked what sauces we needed to go with them. Many pubs and restaurants call themselves family friendly, but most do not deliver. The Wellington goes out of its way to be family friendly. There is a box of toys outside and a couple of boxes indoors. Our boisterous two year old son was amused with an array of small toys he could quietly (more or less) play with whilst waiting for the food to arrive. I am sure other diners appreciated this touch without realising it! We also appreciated a high chair that attached itself to a dining room chair. It makes children feel more grown up. It also saves on space.

This is set a very quite village the young staff are courteous and helpful, the restaurant is well presented and very clean. The Sunday roast however is very ordinary, it’s not meat from a joint it’s from a mass produced pack, there is a good selection of vegetables and condiments. I’ve had much better and much worse it’s our second visit here visiting family. Would I visit again probably but I’d also try another venue if there was indeed another option but there isn’t. It’s competitively priced and it’s wholesome pub food but it’s not exceptionall.

Thank you so so much for holding our recent wedding reception. The service was just amazing. We had no worries at all; everything was set up for us. The food (2 course meal) was just amazing, had so many comments from our guests about the delicious roast, amazing stuffing balls & the yummy chocolate cheesecake! Thank you for such great hospitality on the most important day of our lives. Richard & Jessica :)

We spent a week in the village of Feltwell and visited The Wellington on two occasions. The atmosphere was very friendly and the hosts were very helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent with speedy and friendly service. All in all a super establishment.

We were there for a meeting and the management sorted out a room for us and were very good at bringing extra chairs and the like. The pub is smart and clean wit lots of interesting wartime memorabilia, especially connected with Wellington Bombers. A couple of the beers shared the same theme, with the house beer which was excellent, especially brewed by local brewery, Two Rivers. We didn't eat, but those that were looked to be enjoying it. Well worth a visit. Note that the entry to the car park is from the back of the pub, though there is street parking on the one way street at the front.

Amazing atmosphere! We went for a hen do and the staff were so kind and attentive. They went out of their way for some dietary requirements and hats off to the chef for their lovely homemade scones. Amanda and the staff were lovely and had time to chat with us about our evening. Would visit again if in the area.

Came here for a light lunch with family. Very nice and clean atmosphere inside with pleasant decor. I, with an egg allergy often feel unwelcome in restaurants, and find it difficult to relax and enjoy meals out, but here, no request was too much trouble. The staff were kind and patient, with the chef even coming out of the kitchen to reassure me, and check on details of all of our meals. I've never felt so welcome and at ease in a café and the extra efforts of the owners of The Spontaneous Cuppa really made a difference. I ordered a baked potato, with cheese and chives: the side salad was delicious, as was the potato, and the rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. Feeling included in meals like this is important, especially for those of us who have allergies and dietary requirements. I can thoroughly recommend The Spontaneous Cuppa to anyone looking for a tasty lunch, especially to those with extra dietary requirements.

Recently, we held my friends surprise 30th birthday meal here and everything was fabulous. The staff were lovely and so accommodating throughout the whole booking, the food was amazing - we had over 40 guests & everything was served at the same time, hot & fresh! It was the perfect place to hold a party meal and everyone said how lovely the food, place & staff were! Emily, especially, was amazing throughout - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, we had such a great evening! Xx
