Really nice place to eat fish and chips and have a pint of beer! The inside is really beautiful and well decorated. Totally recommend!

We decided to go back to The Oak Tavern for a Sunday Roast. We have been a few times before and it is a really hit and miss experience so we decided to give it one last try. Unfortunately, the service has not only not improved but is severally lacking. On arrival we found a table and went to the bar. It was busy in the restaurant but we didn't see any one waiting tables. Our table hadn't been wiped down since the last sitting so when someone did finally take our order we asked that our table be cleaned. We bought our drinks at the bar and returned to our table. I collected some knives, forkes and napkins and then had to look to other table for the salt and paper. After about 15/20 mins our food arrived and I then had to ask, again, for the table to be cleaned. We had two small tables but only one was wiped and then debris was still left on the corners of the table. We all ordered a roast dinner and a pot of extra gravy. The 3 dinners came up and we then had to ask for mustard etc. We also reminded them about the extra gravy. We then waiting about 5 more mins - nothing. I noticed that I had not received a yorkshire pudding so then we had to go back out to the bar to ask for my yorkshire and remind them about the gravy. If finally arrived. Cold yorkshire which luckily I warmed up with the extra gravy. The food is cooked very nicely and that is the only positive. It is supposed to be "bottomless Veg" but between the 3 of us we had one bowl of veg and no one came to check on us whilst we were eating to ask if we were ok or if we needed anything else. We certainly didn't ask for any more veg due to the length of time it takes to get anything. This is an ongoing issue with this pub/restaurant. They simply do not have enough staff to cope with the amount of people that want to eat in there. The staff are quite young and this leads to a training issue as they are not experienced enought to "look after" the needs of customers. It is such a shame as we will not be returning anytime soon. The food/drink isn't cheap and the service you receive does not warrant the price charged.Management need to to take the blame here and lead the way.

My first visit to the Oak Tavern, fantastic experience, with friendly staff. I ordered their new "The Works" burger. I received a very generous lunch, at a fair price. Good range of beers, I tried the Battersea unfiltered lager, having never heard of it, and would highly recommend.

Tonight we went to the oaks with work colleges to get food together. I ordered a cheeseburger at the bar, I wasn’t offered how I wanted the burger on paying. When food was delivered I was given a red burger which I couldn’t eat so we took it back to bar staff then they apparently cooked it longer (this went in microwave as when it returned it was the burger I took a bite of it was all wet and sweaty) I couldn’t eat it as it was still red. We didn’t even get asked if food was ok. And when food was taken away we didn’t even get asked how was food. For the expensive price point you expect more!! I wouldn’t return to eat. Rather go Wetherspoons to be honest

I hosted my 30th birthday party at The Oak and hired the entire back session of the pub for free. I preordered Prosecco for welcome drinks and flutes were beautifully laid out with ice buckets. The pub was decorated with gorgeous ivy and flowers which looked very elegant. The staff were friendly and attentive, helping me to serve my guests in our private section and at the bar. I would recommend hosting private parties here as my guests and I had a great time. Thank you to Elise and her team!

Hardly ever write reviews on here but I just had to for this pub. Great location in the centre of Sevenoaks, right on the high street. Staff are extremely friendly making you feel very welcome. Nicely furnished inside with the option to sit outside also. I’ve eaten many times in this pub but my favourite is the steak and ale pie - hearty portion. I tried out one of their new cocktails which may be on the menu - Cuban Sky - 100% recommend. Every Friday night they have live music which I often attend, good buzz. The staff make the pub, very welcoming, good chat and they actually know how to pour and make quality drinks! Special mention to (I think his name is Ryan) - very welcoming, great service, top lad.

A beautiful pub esteemed in history. It proudly displays the heart of its micro brewery set up in the centre of the establishment. In each corner there is a nod to a time where putting your feet up besides the fire was the crux of a good life. Come to think of it, it still is. Leather and lighting lace the interior like a swathe of swans (apologies the over use of alliteration). The Oak Tavern & Tap House is straightforward and so is its menu. It is humble, yet interesting offering the keen beer drinker a compliment to the hops and barley.

Ordered the vegan (chicken bites) which were jackfruit. Told the waitress I had a problem with egg so they would be great. She brought them up apologising that everything goes through the fryers and I said that wasn’t a problem for me. Picked one up put it into the mayo took a bite and she said oh by the way there’s egg in the mayo! Ok so why put Vegan against a dish when it comes with egg based mayo? No excuse. Hellman’s do a great one as do many others.

This was a first time visit to this pub. Invited to a small private birthday function on Saturday late afternoon/early evening. The bar service was very good, with a good selection of drinks. They have a micro brewery on site, which you can view via the glass partitions, which is quirky. The buffet food we had was excellent and well presented. Good atmosphere with a local crowd (but not too busy or loud). Looked very clean, but didnt use the washroom facilities. No parking available as this pub is directly on the high street, but parking is very near by.

Although the place was not busy when we entered, we were very glad we did. The food was terrific! The portions were so generous and well presented. The roasted tomato soup was the best I have ever had. On speaking with the host, he told us that their chef was new. Well, that chef did a great job!

7 of us decided to go for sunday lunch. We have been there before and on the whole it is nice food but service can be a bit hit and miss. The team seem to be quite young so there is room for improvement, i.e. we had to ask for salt for our table and they searched for about 5 mins to find some. Food came up but veg came up about 5 mins later, then I had to ask for mustard etc etc. Really should be on top of this and have everything ready before the food comes up. Food was really very good this time so full bellies all round.

This place gets very busy on a Friday evening, especially when there is a band playing. It makes for a great atmosphere and a fun night out. The crowd is made up of all age ranges so no need for anyone to feel out of place. The range of beers is good and the staff are very friendly. My only criticism is that they could do with a few more staff during busy times.

We held my brother's 30th Birthday here recently and can't praise it enough. They have a perfect area for a gathering which allows privacy but keeps the atmosphere of the pub. Adrian the manager was so helpful with all the arrangements and couldn't do enough for us. All the staff were very friendly & attentive. The nibbles provided were delicious and great value. Will definitely celebrate here again. Thank you Adrian & team!

I’ve actually been here on numerous occasions out of convenience as it’s spacious for a pram. The food is inconsistent as when they first opened I ordered a side salad to go with my meal which was really good but when I ordered it again on a few later occasions it was slightly different in portion size and taste. Each time I’ve gone it’s been progressively more disappointing which is such a shame as it had potentials and the town needed a decent pub.

An old building with the ubiquitous “boutiqued” decor, rendering the interior dull and barn-like. The place was almost empty at lunchtime and very cold on a chilly day. The barman was pleasant and courteous, but it really wasn’t a place where we wished to linger.

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The pub has a microbrewery, although I don't think they were actually selling any of their own brewed beer. The refurbishment is decent, the pub is cosy enough.

Ate here with friends one Friday evening. Were a bit disappointed as the home brew beer was not available and that was one of the reasons we chose this over other choices in Sevenoaks. There were also several selections off the food and wine menu that weren't available. We were sat in the dining area of the pub but later in the evening some very loud non-eating customers came to join us. It got so loud that it was hard to have a conversation without shouting. Not the fault of the pub I know but it did spoil the evening.

Costa Café is a gem! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, especially the one with the amazing tattoos, Nina--they were so warm and attentive. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, with locals chatting and even offering great suggestions on places to visit and things to do in the area. The coffee was perfectly brewed, and the treats were delicious, making it the ideal spot to relax and recharge. Highly recommend stopping by for a cozy, welcoming vibe and top-notch coffee!

Add coffees before we went around the house and there were plenty of tables both inside and outside. Having visited the house we then went back for some lunch and had a variety of items from the menu. All items were very tasty and well presented. The staff on the counters were fine. They could’ve been a bit more efficient doing hot drinks when there was a big queue, else food and service was really good.

I had a couple of hours to kill while on business in Sevenoaks, and fancied an all day breakfast. I googled and found this little place off the beaten track (didn't want to pay for parking!). Really tasty full English breakfast and a good cup of coffee, and ever so great value at £8.00. Maybe not the greatest venue, but definitely worth it for the food.

I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.
