We stumbled across this little gem of a pub online while staying locally during a four day trip to the Windsor Area. The reviews looked good so thought we'd give it a go and so glad we did. We were surprised how quiet it was. We had the Gammon and the Scampi, followed by the Treacle sponge and Sticky toffee pudding. All freshly cooked and delicious. Would definitely return if we come back this way. Lovely local pub x

Well after being rejected by the snobby gastro pub next to the Thames partly are fault for not booking, we ventured to plan B to the oak and saw. well what a pleasure to have found this charming oasis excellent greetings and accommodating service from the politest Charly, together with well-presented excellent food and drink, all at reasonable prices delved by the cheerful northern landlady. Unmistakably standards driven by love and passion, to upheld high standards in the quaint friendly house situated in a beautiful village. we had landed accidently in a wonderful place. A visit, you will not be disappointed.

Found this place by chance online whilst looking for a countryside walk. Looked at the menu and booked as it had lots of veggie choices. In the end, most of us had the Sunday roast! The veg were especially good, including cauliflower cheese which is usually an extra. The waitress offered for the one veggie to also have the cauliflower cheese with her wellington which was a great addition. We all had puddings and enjoyed these too! There was a lovely buzz in the pub without it being noisy. Thank you for a great experience and we will definitely return! We also really enjoyed the 4.5 mile pub walk which is described on the pub website although there was a little detour due to a broken bridge but our phones enabled us to get back on track.

We just can't get enough of this place. It never fails to deliver whether we are going for just drinks or for a meal. Last weekend, we booked for Sunday lunch with my sister and her husband who live nearby. My husband and I would love to live so close. The Elizabeth line is so handy now, especially as it stops at Taplow station on a Sunday. We ordered fish and chips, two roast dinners (beef and pork respectively) and a duck salad. All were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were very generous. So much so, my sister asked for a doggie bag for her uneaten beef. There is also a great selection of beers, cider and wine, from which we ordered a selection. The staff are so friendly and immediately recognised me and my sister. We are well known for coming here the odd Saturday or Sunday and ordering our DIY spritzer kit. I always say to them that they should put it on the drinks menu. The Oak and Saw comes highly recommended as a great pub, serving top restaurant quality cuisine and is very reasonably priced.

If you’re expecting the usual fayre in a uk pub - pies, gammon steak, chicken - it’s not what you’ll get but you’ll miss a nice meal. They have the usual steaks, burgers, fish, scampi supplemented with lamb kebab, lamb skewers etc. the online menu is what they have - no specials. We booked, it’s not a huge pub, so might be worth doing that. Good range of local ales - Marlow Rebellion IPA was lovely and I’m not a beer drinker. Anyway for dinner we had lamb skewer, pork steak - loin maybe a tad over cooked but not tough - both lovely. Treacle tart and sticky toffee pud - ok but in my view it wasn’t sticky toffee and treacle tart not treacle enough - 2 large wines = £67. Helpful, attentive staff, worth trying if in the village or like us staying in the Taplow Hse Hotel - a 10 min walk, uphill, to the pub

Cane today for family lunch. What an amazing little pub. The food was absolutely amazing. Gluten-free options are available, which is brilliant as my husband is a coeliac. The portions are big. The ingredients are fresh, and food is beautifully presented. In my opinion, very good value for money. Great service from Nick and Yulia, and I was really impressed that the chef Tony came out to ask a question about my sons order as he didn't want the sauce he wanted to see if there was anything he could do instead. We will 100% be returning. I am looking forward to coming on a Sunday to try the Sunday roast.

We were looking forward to a Sunday roast at what looks like a lovely pub after a long walk. We had a booking for 3pm. Unfortunately the pub had cancelled our booking and failed to let us know. One lady behind the bar was particularly unhelpful and implied that it was our fault in some way. I appreciate that mistakes are made but there is no excuse for rudeness. Clearly the booking system is unreliable and I can only assume that the staff are overworked to explain such poor manners. I recommend looking elsewhere for a more reliable service.

First visit - arranged to meet here with friends. I'd reserved a table, and they couldn't find the reservation but later found that the staff member booked it on the wrong day (next weekend). A few of us wanted the chicken dish, but they were out, and the only other dish I'd eat is the ham. I was disappointed with the ham as it was very thin slices of reformed ham that didn't have flavour. (I've had this dish from a couple other of pubs local to me, and it is really good). The onion rings were also too well-done, so they were not nice either. So, unfortunately I was let down by the food here. Everyone I was with just thought it was average but said they'd give it another go. I had high expectations based on the feedback so maybe it was just a one off issue/mistake.

Travelling to see Bury Town play Burnham in the FA cup and after a trip advisor search we chose this pub for our pre match lunch. What a choice. A good selection of beers ( the Rebellion revolutionary being my favourite) and excellent food. We could certainly see how this fantastic pub had earned its awards.

Our family group of 7, celebrating my wife's birthday, visited the pub today (Sunday) for the traditional Sunday lunch. We were asked to take our seats and the landlady then promptly appeared to take our drink order. Having served our drinks we ordered our lunch. A choice of three roasts were on offer, Beef, Lamb or Pork, and our party had a selection of these (I ordered the Pork).

Lovely village pub with small but very pleasant garden which has some shaded tables and a nice atmosphere inside. Plenty parking.

We didn't have a reservation and didn't plan on eating but once we saw some of the roasts come out we had to get one. They managed to get us a table and the roasts were good. We had 2 beef roasts, the roast potatoes weren't the best and the beef had a lot of fat on but the vegetables and Yorkshire puddings were great! The camembert starter sharer was great, they give you enough bread which most places don't. Wiuld happily go back.

We love going here, staff are friendly, food is amazing and there's the garden centre to wander around afterwards. Brilliant way to spend an afternoon

The Sunday roast was tasteless unfortunately. Meat was tough and overpriced

I went with my elderly parents for lunch. My Dad has memory issues and struggled to tell the waitress what his order was. She was really patient and helpful.
