The Northern Lights Executive Lounge in Aberdeen City

I read reviews and was a bit worried, but really don't know why. I don't know what people expect, it was more than adequate for a couple of drinks and and a bite to eat before flying.

Felt like we were not welcome. Reminded we were no longer offshore. When I tried to get my 2nd drink I was asked if we were talking about her. Wtf is going on . Calm down Catherine

Poorly advertised on airport webpage. 6 free drinks of a very small limited menu. No Brewdog as advertised, too expensive to stock I was told. Only 1/2 pints served. Plain one white wine. As it was 4-5pm expected tea. Offering was chilli & rice or macaroni. Dont like chilli opted for a bland tastless cold macaroni on a smallest plate. Expected more for a tea menu. Crisps portions were empty. As a local chef was behind the food I was unimpressed. Had 2 small wines & small plate of macaroni. Definitely not worth money paid. Lounfe

A nice lounge with comfortable seats but a very poor selection of food... they only had a choice of chilli concarn with rice or macaroni and cheese...neither of which were very appetising. The options of salad vegetables was also very poor. Definitely not worth £32...I won't be booking again.

Show me we're in Aberdeen without showing me we're in Aberdeen...typical Aberdonian grippy mentality, only allowed 6 half pints, have to pay for fizz which isn't fizz, it's prosecco, and £5 a glass!! I've been to many lounges across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America and fizz etc is free. Beers are usually help yourself and they don't limit you. It's called trust I guess... The food options for breakfast were good, usually bacon eggs and sausages etc and they were regularly topped up. The staff are good, they keep the place clean and look after you.

Another one star review for the worst airport lounge in existence. Not just for the slowest most miserable staff in the travel industry, nor the dried tasteless empty food bowls under the heat lamps, nor the fact they start removing food an hour before it closes, but this time for turning my family away when we were on a KLM flight, purchased using platinum KLM air miles (entitling the passenger to the same level of service as the platinum card holder) with platinum KLM cards. Of course I checked with KLM and they were all allowed to use the lounge but it was too late by then. As a regular business traveller I hate the place but it’s meant to be a treat and a bit of fun for the wife and kids. If you would like to disappoint your family at the start of their holiday this is just the place for you.
