I was really impressed by the service at the Norfolk Arms today. The staff are polite and attentive, in particular George, going above and beyond to provide a wonderful eating experience, for example an extra portion of custard for my apple crumble!

The Norfolk Arms is located in the heart of Ringinglow Village. It's a nice inn and hotel. Service was good and the food was good too, especially the garlic bread with cheese, which was splendid. However, the experience was spoilt by the outdoor tables in the drinks only area, which were so flimsy and cheap that they shook violently when someone stood up and caused my near whole pint to tip over! The other tables didn't have this problem, it was the plastic/metal grey ones on the grass. Investing in the best equipment for the customer experience is the best way to ensure 5 star reviews, which mine would have been, were it not for the table incident. The views from The Norfolk Arms were magnificent and it was great to see a pro-cash attitude at the bar. It's also dog friendly, with water and dog treats available.

Went for a birthday meal, the review of the food was that it was ok. Although our 7 year old thought the pizza tasted weird. The waitress gave me anxiety as she could not wait to get away from the table, had a 4 year old with us so had to ask for a teaspoon and was given a dessert spoon, I asked a second time for the teaspoon then 10 mins later I went to investigate apparently teaspoons needed to be washed !! Then I was told that it had come from housekeeping ....not sure why that,'s relevant. Then went to use the toilets to find only emergency lighting to fumble about in .......went in with high expectations, left with sadness in my heart.

We went for a family lunchtime meal. The service was slow-although booked we waited almost an hour for our food. The food itself was not acceptible. The fish pies lacked fish. My sons chicken meal was the worse he ever had. The vegetables were not cooked properly and when replaced were not much better. Will not be going again.

This place has turned into an absolute joke. The queue times are ridiculous and half the time there is only 2 people on, one taking orders and one making the drinks. Now they have changed their opening times and if you are seeing a movie after 7.30 you can't get a coffee now. We used to persevere because we like the coffee however the final nail in the coffin was the price increase! £7 for a venti cold brew! £7! however if you drive to meadowhall just around the corner you can have the same drink for £5.75! It's an absolute rip off! We will no longer be going!
