The Nippy Chippy is a pretty good chip shop. The staff have always been friendly people. They have kebabs, chicken and a few other things as well as the usual chip shop fare.

Staying locally so had fish and chips from here last night. Friendly crew of young guys running the shop and excellent fish and chips. I had a medium portion which was extremely generous. Fresh, hot and not too greasy. I eat a lot of chips 🤣 and these were some of the best I can remember having. Many thanks.

Had the lunch menu, meat and fish with chips, the chips and fish very very oily and bad taste!

Decent enough place. A chippy is a chippy. The chef forgot to cook my burger so I had to wait a very long time for my order, longer than I probably should have. Very Overpriced really compared to other chippies. Some of the prices really took me off guard. Portion sizes generous but chips weren't well cooked and just seemed rushed and thrown together. Get what you expect really from a chippy.

We're off to see my brother who lives in Haresfield and will be calling in to Stonehouse for our treat when we visit him. It's a few miles from where he lives but the Nippy Chippy food is well worth the drive, one of the reasons we travel from Cardiff to visit him.

Blows hot and cold for delivery. Sometimes the food is piping hot, sometimes stone cold. Generally good.

This place has been our 'go to' for fish and chips for years but the last 3 or 4 times the delivery has been late. Most recently it was an hour past the *end* of our delivery slot by the time it turned up - really frustrating when we have a baby to put to bed. I rang up to complain and was told the manager would ring back to sort it out but they never did. I understand that they get busy, especially at the weekend, but why offer 15 minute delivery slots if you can't fulfil them? The food by the time it got to us was like warm and past its best

Go regularly. Friendly and helpful staff. Great good and good portions.

Lunchtime Fish n Chips most be the best value lunch going. £5.50 for a good sized piece of fish and plenty of chips. All perfectly cooked.

Placed order online stayed 45 minuite wait for delivery in total for the food to arrive took hour and a half late

Good quality fish and chips but quite pricey compared to other chippies in the area. I've been here a few times, the staff are straight to the point and orders are taken quickly. The waiting area is quite cramped so if there's more than 2 or 3 people waiting then you will need to wait outside. Fish and other products cooked to order which means it's fresh and hot but can cause longer wait times ~15mins.

This chippy is very popular so would advise to book online you can book a pick up time and get a discount.

We ordered online and were informed 40 mins. We were nearby 15 mins away. No food turned up for our party of 4. Contacting them again over an hour later . We still were waiting g over half an hour. With the food eventually delivered . When we opened to meals were not hot just warm. Will not use again and in hindsight we should had called to the place ourselves. But why offer a service you simply can not provide. Obviously a big disappointment..

It is a small chippy but a good one. Chips were very hot and well cooked. Could have done with more salt and vinegar but that is a common problem with chippies these days.

Best fish and chips by miles for miles

Always enjoyed before but Ordered fish and chips for delivery they said it would 60mins delivery time, after 75 mins I rang and they said it will be with you shortly, when it arrived it was luke warm and the cardboard box it came in was all soggy and wet, looks like it had been sat on side and forgotten about

Large fish and chips were a total disappointment. Fish was small and not enough for two. “though still cost £13!” It used to be so much better here, not impressed and won’t be going back! Total waste of money

Always a nice fish and chip supper. A little on the pricey side compared with other chippies but you certainly get what you pay for.

What we had was tasty hot and enjoyable. Better than a few chip shops we have been to.

The best fish n chips shop goin amazing food

Just visited and only wanted some chips to accompany our Dinner. Was not happy being told that there was a Surcharge for card payments under £5. This is Illegal according to Google search…. Needless to say I didn’t pay surcharge. Still think the Food is Very Good…

Worst chippy I have had in a while, chips were hard and burger was under cooked, after struggling to order to begin with I decided to just leave the food outside for the numerous rats around the premises, disgusting.

Wow!! Heard great things about this chippy so thought I'd give them a try, really glad I did. Fantastic service and good quality food. Everything was so fresh and tasty . Highly recommend to everyone.

They make the best fish and chips in Stroud area. I totally love it and I frequently order out from them. If you are happy to be collecting your order from site online, you can park in front of the Restaurant. Enjoy!

Chips were a bit hard and under cooked .i lke my chips well done .batterd sausage was realy greesy batter.

I ordered from the nippy chippy a few times now and I haven't got 1 complaint! The food always been so good and hot when delivered only down fall is no kids cheeseburger meal 🤣 but really worth the Money!!

Just been in the Nippy Chippy for the first time even though I've lived here some years. Have to say very nice fish, light and freshly cooked! Nice chips all served in a convenient box. Happy to visit again and thoroughly recommended.

Ordered out food over 1hour 15 minutes later we called to find out where it was. Was told it'll be sent out from the shop within the next 15-20 minutes! This is the first ever time we've had a bad experience with the nippy chippy,but for this reason probably won't be in a rush to order again.

Sorry has to be a 1 star had food delivered once before and was well pleased so thought we would order again so ordered a kebab for my partner and cod and beans for myself I was told i had to up my order to £25 to get delivery so added chips and 2 cans of coke. The kebab was not at all good ordered salad to go with it and got fried onions on it and my order was short they didn't send my 2 cans of drink that I paid for. Sorry guys will not use you again.

Lovely fish and chips and pretty much anything else you fancy. Decent prices, fast service, good grub. Often looks like it's staffed by 13 year olds, but everyone seems to work hard and provide good service 👍Will definitely keep coming back

Had a family mix of food - Fish & Chips & Kids Chicken Nuggets & Chips & a portion of curry sauce. All was really tasty and even the chicken nuggets were good quality! Will be going again

Well Credit where Credit is due!! We have just had Fish and Chips and I have to say I really do not think that you could better what we had anywhere in the country!! Well Done Nippy Chippy you have got this to perfection. We are very lucky to have such a fabulous chip shop so close

Purchased sausage & chips for the first time in a while due to current situation. Well below their usual standard, battered sausage was reasonable chips unpleasant cold and soggy. Shop could do with a spruce up sorry guys it's a no for recommendation from us for the time being.

Come on guys love it when you get it right....will still order from you, give me a chance to change this to 5 stars I dare you!

Average at best...A bit on the expensive side compared to national average... Only option in the area....the other option is just awful

Been coming here for years and the quality has always been excellent and remains to be so. The chips are wonderfully crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle and the fish is fresh with nice light batter. I'll continue to come here for my fix of F&C's.

Past experience at this chippy was very good so I thought after many years I would go back,what a mistake. It looks like they haven't changed the oil in the fryer for weeks or months ,the fish and the chips were absolutely very greasy there was even a puddle of grease in the fish tray I am absolutely disgusted and I will not be back and I'll make sure my friends do not use this chippy

Ordered a wrap today from the nippy chippy stonehouse glos. Well it looked like it was cooked hours ago, it looked funny & tasted disgusting. It was soggy and had food poisoning written all over it, but my bin enjoyed it.... I will never be going there again.

Great fish and chips With the current website/app it would be good to know when you’re open due to the lockdown. Can’t phone as message saying busy, app won’t take orders and don’t know if you’re open!

Very good offers and fast service

The food is nice and service is generally quick but it is very cramped so avoid it when busy. Shame this shop was split up from the corner shop, it would be nice for them to extend it and modernise a bit.

Really quick service, very busy which is always a good sign and the portion sizes are great. The only negative comment I have is, the chips are too tightly wrapped, I ended up having to pick the paper off my chips when it came to eating them.

Since I wrote my last review they are taken over portion sizes better food cooked to much higher standard I'm glad they wrote and asked me to 're try the food was worth it great fish chips curry sauce
