Typical jd pub, clean but not enough staff on! Food ok. Beer good!

First visit to this popular, good looking local 'Spoons. Had to run the gauntlet of front door smokers despite nearby designated smoking area. Busy pub but very tidy & well looked after. Friendly & efficient staff except for upkeep of coffee machines - all 4 of us having to wait for both machines to be cleaned & refilled for refills as well (prob a testament to how busy it is on weekend visit). Food served on cold plates & some of food like eggs cold. Impressed by pub itself so will give it another try in midweek.

Nine Arches is our favourite Wetherspoons and we often go for drinks and a meal. Last Friday when we tried to order a small brunch we were told that they could not do fried egg, (as per the menu) but they could do scrambled egg! The previous Friday we ordered fish, chips and mushy peas. We were told that they had no mushy peas but we could have garden peas. A fellow customer told us that they had no mushy peas last Friday either. Not good enough as they advertise that meals are availabe until 11pm., and this happened mid afternoon.

Typical wetherspoon house. Unfortunately that includes being an ale house that no longer serves, dark beers, or porters and none guineas stouts on draught. Bottles are available, but kept in a fridge!!!!

Best weatherspoons we have been too. Great service and atmosphere. Large glass of wine and a pint of large £6.88 bargain!

I had been several Whether spoon before and this is the best one I ever had. The toast is hot and crunchy. The food is served in hot and smell very good. The staff there are really nice. The recent small breakfast would be a considerate arrangement for those cannot finish a big one. However, hope that there would be one more coffee machine and we don’t need to wait so long. And chocolate dust would be refilled more often. Lastly, I always like to have fish and chips there. It tastes great. But the fish size may differ from time to time. 😁

A clean & bright atmosphere, staff attentive & polite. My go to pub for your refill hot drinks, great place try it.

Wow. What am amazing building. So glad Wetherspoons put so much money into restoring buildings that would be otherwise demolished. Went there on a wet Sunday for lunch but as soon as I entered, I felt warm and comforted. The staff were very attentive and , as the pub is huge, I asked a waitress how many tables they had (I was at number 87). She didn’t know but within a minute she came back and told me it is 140! Attention to detail is what I like and she didn’t disappoint. So glad my friend plumped for this pub. I wouks definitely recommend it. And by the way, the food was lovely too.

Great food and prices super friendly staff

The interior decoration of the restaurant is good, and the space on the high floor is enough to sit very comfortably. The quality of the food is good and the price is reasonable. Unfortunately, the restaurant is understaffed. There are many dishes with finished pasta. I walked in and sat down to eat. There was still no waiter to deal with it. The dish collection window was full of cups and plates, and they fell down when they were stacked. No one took it to wash, so you can see the appearance!

Sadly it's a Witherspoon's pub and they don't allow dogs so they lost our custom!

Friendly atmosphere will go again!

nice atmosphere! good to hang out with friends and have a drink. they even have the outdoor area which allow you to breathe some fresh air. compared to other wetherspoon, this is clean and tidy.

Went for tea here yesterday with the Family around 4 30 pm . Food was nice & hot and Nicely presented. Staff were very professional and smartly dressed in uniform. Nice Atmosphere and Very reasonably priced - will go Again .

A lovely and tranquil place for a top quality breakfast

Weatherspoons Nine Arches is my favourite and we go there often, the atmosphere is good and I love the layout, its not a pubish atmosphere like some other Weatherspoons. On this occasion we both had fish & chips with a drink. The food is good, a very nice piece of white fish and a good size portion. You just cant beat Weatherspoons prices and the quality is always good.

Disappointed with mix grill .. steak so tough and undercooked ...lamb was the same

Again,another weatherspoons, but the food quality and pricing are the best. Got starter and msins,alcoholic drink(for less than a couple of quid extra) and had some shots afterwards that still made it cheaper than going to some other usual pubs that would've been dearer for less food/drink

Lovely relaxing breakfast place. Families, single people and couples. Best to get there before 11 am as breakfast only served until 12 noon.

Usual weather spoons food always hot and tasty and served quick

I waited at an empty bar for more that five minutes to be served. A middle aged couple then came in and were immediately served as I continued waiting. I pointed out to the female bar staff member that she should learn to serve in turn then promptly left. I won't be visiting there again.

I don’t know if it’s right or not but we got refused entry at quarter past 11 is this right as people was in there drinking. The bar tender said they could not let people in after 11 is this correct?

Food is very always nearly on point at this spoons, staff are great and hard working, always serve with a smile. I think if management have not already that they should consider a day out on company expense to value the service given here in comparison to other wetherspoons franchises

Food is always as expected and staff are friendly even when busy.

Once again let down with food jacket potatoes cold ,steak full of fat about a 1/4 of the steak I could eat.Never ordering food again from this particular weatherspoons.

My husband and I have been going ever since it opened, we have our regular table and great banter with all the staff. We won't go anywhere else for our breakfast, excellent and friendly staff, we recommend The Nine Arches Wetherspoons to everyone 😁

When they deliver your breakfast to 3 tables away watch them touch it say its the wrong one remove it from the table take it to the kitchen and bring it back out thinking you haven't witnessed the wrong exchange and expect you to eat it Keep you £14 thanks Maccies breakfast it is then

As usual this Wetherspoons is great value. Fantastic range of food and amazing fast service . Can highly recommend. Even do a small fish chips and peas with a glass of wine for £7.62

Yes, this is a Spoons and not an expensive restaurant, so don't expect the bells and whistles. However, for this price point, I've been unable to beat it, and the food quality and quantity is good. Nice surroundings with historic information. Food is great and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. (Updated) As a regular visitor since lockdown, I've yet to find one member of the staff who hasn't gone out of their way to assure we had excellent experience at each and every visit. My one and only complaint, please bring the large steak and kidney puddings back.

This is a great Spoons, the building was originally a church, then a pet shop called Nadins. Food is always good, served quickly and always hot.

Nice soup, but I fell foul of the 'ice policy'. Apparently, a glass full of ice is deemed appropriate by wetherspoons. Must remember to order without ice in the future. It is nice to come across obviously stupid policies occasionally. Wouldn't want Wetherspoons to actually go up in my estimations, which is a shame as the 'Nine Arches' is quite a good one.

Got the 3 small meals on offer, hit the spot just right

A late Sunday morning breakfast for some and another pizza craving satisfied for skinny GF. Usual value meant 4 of us ate and had soft drinks or coffee for around £30 so no point sharing the bill. Admittedly the avocado muffin was in miniature form and the poached eggs firmer than a chicken, whilst the limited edition haggis burger was OK. But seeing the smile on GF face for her genuinely good pizza made the rest worthwhile. Service a tiny bit ropey and seeing a waiter taking empty coffee cups to a table under his armpits made me glad I’d not gone after such a speciality coffee. Free car park 2 minutes away.

Not been in nine arches for 1 year

Wow this was really crowded. We had to wait a while to get a free table. The staff were super helpful in finding us a table.

A top class Spoons and I didn’t even see the outdoor seating! The staff are so friendly, service is prompt and the beer is 👌🏼.

When I was there it was very busy and crowded. Had to wait several minutes after walking around. At that time there were smokers outside and we didn't want to set out. Food was quick and value for money as usual for Weatherspoons. There was free parking not too far away.

Highly recommend this place for food and drink, the atmosphere was so nice here!

A good Wetherspoon Pub, used the app and the service was almost instantaneous. Staff were friendly and the food and beer were excellent.

Huge wetherspoons and spotlessly clean with ample seating fantastic staff,great atmosphere and the food was very good.Does get very busy.

Food wasent as plentiful or as good as last time but I understand to make money 💰 and keep prices down jd has to make food go further the pub was full so can't be to bad I'm probably greedy 😉 😜

I'm probably biased on this Wetherspoons as it's in my home town, location is right in centre of town in a converted pet shop and previous chapel. Layout works well in a small area, staff very helpful and food is excellent value as always.

Always love our drop ins to 9 Arches. Wide mixture of clientele. Staff are extremely pleasant, food is ready fast. There is nothing to dislike

A nice looking weatherspoons with a good selection of drinks at decent price. The staff are nice and attentive. You order through the app which is easy. The food is a good price with decent portion sizes but some of the meats in our mixed grills and steaks weren't great, either overcooked or mostly gristle. Somewhat disappointing but I'd give it another go. There's a free public carpark at the back and it is wheelchair accessible.

Quite literally THE best pub food in the world!!!

Really enjoyed the food . We ordered loads the portions were great we had to take some back to hotel. We preferred this food than out 5* hotel .

Nice place but food just ok. We ordered the tenesse chicken burgers which arrived at our table within 5 mins of odering so must have been pre cooked chicken warmed up, which unfotunately was what it tasted like. Would be good night out but wouldn't eat here again. Staff attentive and welcoming.

Reasonable price good atmosphere

Tried this pub for the first time after recently moving around this area and was not disappointed food was lovely good portion sizes and good value for money. Drinks are reasonably priced also, not long to wait for food and nice efficient staff
