Popped in for a tea and cake after shopping at Aldi

Lovely people been in business ages. Opposite Aldi.and Tesco shopping main shopping street. Busy area plenty of parking. Sandwiches, cake, good small and large English breakfast.

Just popped in to sample their hot drinks on a cold and miserable afternoon. We had a warm smiley welcome and My Hot Chocolate was excellent. Hot Chocolatey and most enjoyable. Did not eat but café was popular and most tables seemed to be having an enjoyable meal with lot's of happy chat.

Doggy Friendly café, fantastic atmosphere, always made to feel welcome and good coffee and nice food. Even doggy sausages too. Really great to have a doggy venue in Syston

Lovely little cafe very friendly

I must say, I’m not too fond of this establishment. A while back I read a declaration that this cafe sold something along the lines of “the best breakfast in Leicester”. After visiting myself, I’m afraid I don’t agree with the sentiment. Perhaps personal preference, but it just wasn’t to my liking. Not keen on the layout nor the decor of the place itself. There is an atmosphere I can’t quite place my finger on, but it’s not one I personally enjoy to spend my time in. Perhaps room for improvement, but again, could be down to personal preference.

The food is consistently good, service excellent, staff friendly & helpful. It's a place you can go on your own & not feel alone.

Everytime I've been here the price is different for the same items, two breakfasts and small coffees now costs £30, not worth the money for the quality of food and waiter rude when questioned price getting very defensive?, won't be visiting again (edit) we have been over charged before when taking out aswell as eating in, they were all swaps that come as standard at other local cafes, the price hike you introduced is absolutely ridiculous for the the food served, other restaurants and cafes in the area serving similar standards are not at your price point, your coffee costs alot more than even Costa and tastes not great and cheap breakfast items in particular your sausages are mass produced store bought, not reflecting the price charged,when will businesses realise volume of sales will always beat steep prices aimed to take advantage the consumer, it's worth it if quality ingredients are used but when it's not then I don't agree,gone downhill massively. You mention that we swapped cheap items for expensive items? Swapped tomatos for an egg, and mushrooms for one slice of bacon and added a hash brown which should be included especially at that price,what a joke

UPDATE! Unfortunately I will have to think twice before going in for a coffee due to the continual price hikes. It's now more expensive than Costa for a smaller cup. Staff and service are still great. All round good service and food/coffee. Dog friendly, which is great (and the staff love my dog :-)

Very, very disappointing visit. I ordered two salmon and prawn salads to take away which came to nearly £17 in total...I have uploaded a photo to 'images ' for this cafe but will upload to this review too. I got back to my car and opened the take away container to an underwhelming, unimaginative slapped together container of food. Absolutely no passion, imagination or thought went into the contents of that container. I love supporting local businesses but I don't love being taken for a prat! I expect better when paying £8.50 for a take away salad. If you send food out of your kitchen looking like this, costing this much, sadly your establishment deserves a scathing review...Thankfully I have a choice where I can eat and spend my money, It won't be spent here again.

Excellent service, nice tea and scones. Reasonable prices for decent food. A bonus is there are toilets on the ground floor.

Standing ovation for their spinach ravioli with fresh tomato sauce. I am myself a chef and here I can see skills and passion. Well done the latte too.

An ok full English breakfast but the sausages tasted a bit cheap and gristly and the tea wasn’t great. The place was nice enough although a bit chilly but the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I had one of the specials, excellent value, very tasty and served up very quickly. Only downside as it was busy, it was very noisy

When I travel over from Stoke I insist I visit. Brilliant place.

A lovely little place. We had gorgeous sandwiches and my little boy had the biggest slice of cake, which was delicious. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Very clean and a brilliant little space to stop off for a bite to eat and drink. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely independent cafe. Super busy on a weekend brunch, but we still got setved quickly. We all had a veggie full English. Really tasty, good portion, very good value and not greasy. Id recommend this place

Best full english I've had for a while, thought I would go to an independent to support them after the hard 15 months we've all had, me and my partner were not disappointed. Everything freshly made with quality ingredients perfectly presented and brought over with a smile. Would highly recommend.

Lovely local cafe caters for gluten free well

Food was very nice. It's good value for money and they have Gluten Free bread for sandwiches. It's not on the internet but, it is dog friendly which was a bonus today as the other dog friendly cafe in Austin was closed. We will come here again for breakfast and maybe try a lunch here too.

What a great place in Syston! We were passing through this lovely village and stopped for lunch. Wherever possible we try to avoid the big chain providers and look for local businesses to support. And wow what a place the Cafe Continental is,lovely friendly staff, great ambience and the food was excellent. A lot of variety to choose from and all freshly made onsite, unlike some others... So do go along and try this Cafe out and you will be happy bunnies!

So... I had heard good things and I go out for breakfast a lot. Ordered a full English with hash browns that I paid extra for. when it came sausages were cheap and deep fried,bacon only just cooked, and eggs were greasy. For the most expensive breakfast in the village definitely not the best. On the upside the staff were lovely and the coffee was good.
