Managed to get a last minute booking on Easter Sunday. Roast was delicious and really reasonably priced. Great portion sizes. Plenty of meat and gravy. Staff efficient and friendly. Will be back! Dog friendly

No word of a lie, possibly the best roast dinner I’ve had in my life. We enjoyed some pre dinner drinks on the terrace beforehand and watched the boats go by, then went upstairs for our meal. The staff were all friendly and chatty and really helpful. We all ordered a roast dinner, there was plenty of choice, including 2,3 or 4 meat roast dinners. I had pork belly and chicken and was honestly absolutely amazing. Huge portions and even bigger yorkshires !! No corners were cut, loads of meat, loads of veg and loads of gravy, which was clearly home made and was so rich and tasteful. There were 6 of us and 3 of our party couldn’t finish and had to take a doggy bag home !! I can’t speak highly enough of Andy and the team at The Newport Arms, it’s understandable how he has consistently been in the top 10 best roast dinner in Sussex awards. I can’t wait to go back

Roast wasn't great for the money you pay. I expect cooked meat and not under cooked potatoes. Gravy is rich not nice. Kids didn't eat and chicken for kids was served on bone aswell. Would advise not to go.

This is a Lovely little pub. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth a visit for the scenic peaceful location. Always a nice happy vibe thats clean comfortable and well kept. the staff are very friendly and efficient and the roast dinners are very good along side the drinks:)

Came here for a Sunday roast as I heard there was a new chef and the food was great. We had the lamb and it was cooked beautifully and the gravy was SO good! The girls are super friendly and very attentive too! Great customer service! It's definitely a hidden gem by the port! I love seeing all the boats from the garden! Real pretty :) can't wait for our next outing there! Thanks you guys x

Used to go to the quiz here and they used to offer free parking for the duration of the quiz. This changed in the new year and the Newport arms neglected to tell me resulting in a £100 parking fine. I doubt if I was the only one to get caught out. They admit no responsibility, preferring to blame the port authority who also couldn't care less. Edit: and as I made clear before, I didn't see either of the signs that you claim were there on the night and had you produced the CCTV footage as I'd requested I've no doubt it would have been obvious why I couldn't have seen them with other customers in the way. My frustration is not misdirected. It is entirely appropriate given you neglected to verbally inform repeat customers of the change (either when booking or on the night) at the first quiz since the change knowing the quiz takes longer than the new free parking arrangement.

Not the best experience, wrong food received for one of us and a slither of fish inside a large batter, so pretty much batter and chips for the other. When we pointed out the wrong food issue we were told nothing could be done as the kitchen was closed, we only had the food seconds and it was 7.30 ish. We were given a drink on the house as way of an apology. Certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone or returning.

Went for a lunch and were really happy with taste and quantity of food. The girl behind the bar was kind. Would recommend

Fantastic jewel tucked away near Shoreham harbour ( free car park for 2 hours). Loads of free street parking 5 minutes walk away. Definitely going to return on a sunny day to enjoy the expansion decking, yachts, swans even a Cormorant. Would have given 5 stars across the board if not for the large TV screens showing the football ( which not one table was watching as far as I was aware. We had a late Sunday Roast ( which was excellent) so as others left the football commentary became audible. Just turn off !!

Food was ok, fish ‘n chips and a Club Sandwich. Not a great view to be fair,sat alongside a dry dock with engineering works being carried out. Average wine selection,but pitiful beer selection. Staff friendly enough, but all orders have to be at the bar, so if you want a second drink, it’s back to the queue whilst your food goes cold. If you’re there just for a coffee,great, but there’s better within 200 metres.

The best prawns I've ever had! What a beautiful venue with absolutely amazing food. I've never seen prawns so big and tasty, I can't wait to go back. All the tapas dishes were to die for! I could not fault the chef. Well done!

Sadly, I wish I could have given The New Port Arms a 5*. The food was good but two of us had to wait quite a long time for our meals to arrive, by then the rest of the party had eaten. The last remaining meals, one had some of the items missing that had been on the menu the other meal wasn't what had been ordered. Two of the other meals also had things missing. Overall, although most of the meals had been pre-ordered they weren't correct and it was a long wait for two of the guests. It had been a special get together that was tainted by the chaos of delay in meals and meals not being what was ordered. I have eaten at the restaurant previously and was happy with food and service but on this occasion Sunday lunch didn't leave up to expectations.

I love coming here the staff are really lovely. Unfortunately on this occasion our food was not up to scratch, the roast potatoes were rock solid and our dinner was swamped with gravy. The beef was very tender and juicy but it wasn’t enough to save the meal on this occasion.

Hire the upstairs for my 30th birthday party and was the perfect venue for the occasion. The upstair hire included a seating/standing area, with a bar and a balcony. Emily was extremely helpful with taking the booking and answering questions and Dani provided the perfect buffet for my guests. Guests kept on complimenting how lovely the venue and staff were- cannot recommended enough!

My partner and I were served by Dani over the weekend and I have to say I was very impressed by the service, I have quite complex dietary requirements and Dani went above and beyond to tailor a meal that would be both safe and tasty for me! I would definitely recommend eating here if you have complex intolerances.

Miserable staff, massively overpriced, yes, it’s by the water and has a lovely outside seating area, but still too expensive

Food here has been consistently great every time coming here, from 12-6pm, especially seafood dishes. Quiz nights are a blast and what's not to love about sitting outside right next to the harbour!? Staff are always friendly and always around when a new round is needed. Still my favourite coastal pub/ bar in the city.

Sunday roast is excellent as well as the lovely staff and the beautiful marina setting. I eat here regularly, living close by, and every meal is of the highest standard but for me the roast fits my bill for a top notch traditional Sunday roast. Highly recommend the fish & chips (the fish is huge and so fresh and the batter light and crisp as it should be). The Jamaican Fish Curry is also a delight but PLEASE KEEP YOUR SUNDAY ROASTS menu. What a wonderful gem, the atmosphere transports you to a beautiful waterfront restaurant somewhere peaceful and tranquil. My husband and I visited on the off chance for the afternoon and decided to have a spot of lunch. It was like being transported to the Caribbean, we tried a couple of the starters. The prawns dusted in coconut snow, were like little burst of yumminess in your mouth. The ribs in the home made BBQ sauce, was just fall off the bone delicious, I loved the authentic stickiness of the sauce on the ribs you could tell it was home made with love ❤️. Finally we tried the jerk chicken wings, I am not a particular fan of jerk sauce, but the wings has the right amount of heat and delicious 😋. Heads up to the Chef Mr Curits, what a great job. The food was delicious, we wish you and all at the New Port Arms all the very best, we cannot wait to visit again, very friendly staff. We highly recommend 💛💛💛💛💛💖💛💛💛💛💛

Fantastic Vegan Wellington!! The staff here are enthusiastic and friendly, and the outside seating is great for anyone insterested in boats - positioned right on the harbour. Note that while the parking is metered, the pub will give you 4 hours’ free parking when you provide your registration at the bar 😇 I probably would have given 4 stars, but my partner’s roast pork was very, very chewy and he had to leave nearly all of it, which of course isn’t ideal, and the beer selection was quite poor.

Nice pub with nice views on a hot day, thay did run out of my beer (maybe I drink too much) food service very hit and miss with wrong orders delivered to wrong tables but overall worth a visit.

Fabulous setting with a super cool atmosphere for everyone. Massive credit to the new chef Curtis who has certainly brought so much to the table. His constant desire to deliver superb food cooked fresh to order is clearly evident. My fish curry was superb!

Overpriced average pub food. Fish and chips for £16.50 and the chips were not nice, plus an egg cup full of cold mushy peas. Restaurant prices are cheaper than this.

Firstly we found parking very easy and where you park is pretty flat so it was very easy to access. My mother is over 90, partially sighted and needs a walker so we were a bit worried in case there were steps but it was nice and flat with a slight slope over the threshold We booked for lunch on Sunday, when we arrived we were greeted as we entered, the parking was explained and we were shown to our reserved table. Service was impeccable polite but friendly. We ordered Sunday lunch Two with three meats and one pork The food came in a timely fashion and looked spectacular. (This is one of the times I wish I had taken a photo of my food) Everything was cooked to our liking the vegetables were perfect and varied The meat was cooked to perfection. Everything was really good quality and the flavours were excellent everything had a little edge to it . The stuffing slightly spicy, the Yorkshire slightly herby. The 3 meat dinner is a marathon but even my mum kept plodding along as she really did not want to leave any. It is a very big plateful. My Pork was tasty and enough to make me feel really full. The mains were all we could eat so can not comment on the deserts. I had a coffee and that was really nice. They do not serve common draught beer/Lager I did not recognize any of them but what we had was very good, a pleasant taste and nice and cold. We will certainly go back one day in the week to try the daily menu. Very Impressed

We had fish curry which was so light and delicately spiced I couldnt believe it. Literally the best fish curry I have had anywhere , I didnt want it to end . Also had smoky spare ribs as starter which were really sticky in a lovely homemade sauce. We cant wait to get back there again to try some of the other amazing looking dishes. I dont normally leave reviews but in this case theres no option.

Called in on Saturday,to this beautiful unexpected place with great views , it looked so clean. We had brunch it was fantastic, we checked out the menu for later next time it was very reasonably price compared to London prices, the pizzas looked unbelievable, cant wait to return.

I have been to the new port arms several times. Their food is always perfect, and I love their range of dishes. Food is served in acceptable timing for freshly cooked food and staff always are so helpful. And their breakfasts are unreal!

I was happy we had chosen to have our belated Birthday meal with our friends at this venue. The seafood was terrific and the two Vegetarians were nicely catered for. They will be getting our custom from now on.

Do not book a party/event here! The catering the pub uses is awful and so expensive. Went to a party recently, the little food that did come out was so late and not even half of the food what was paid for came out. The staff didn’t have a clue what was going on. Their manager was refusing to answer calls from their staff and is now ignoring messages after the complaint. Total shambles.

Party of 7 visited for Sunday lunch. Booked in advance so they should have been prepared but 4 out of the 7 meals had issues. Food was cold on the roast dinners and bits missing. Although they tried to rectify it they wasted their time as the stuffing and pigs in blankets weren’t even cooked properly which they brought out 10 mins later. One of our party nearly choked on a fish bone from the fish pie and the pub itself was freezing. Unpleasant experience had by all.
