great atmosphere staff are so friendly really nice pub to go in

Appeared to be short staffed on the visit, multiple menu items unavailable despite being on the app. Food was decent enough though

Had a duel Birthday party for my two Granddaughters that the landlords had kindly organised for my family.

Kim gave amazing service she made the night fun very friendly and great atmosphere here! Kim is a credit to the business here 👏

We recently went for a birthday party. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and tidy and the drink selection was extensive and reasonably priced. A good time was had by all.

The pub allows our local running club to use them as a base on Monday and Wednesday nights and have been very welcoming and supporting A nice place to have a post run drink with reasonable prices and good service. Plus the pub is well sized and split so still plenty of space to still come and enjoy without bumping into any sweaty runners 😁

A great atmosphere with friendly staff. Anytime is good to visit this pub. Pool table, darts and karaoke. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting and have returned on several occasions recently. Good management team.

Nice large clean pub. Serves a nice clean crisp pint. Bar staff were extremely polite and well presented. Bar area seemed immaculately clean and well stocked considering how busy the staff were having a large private party in the function room. I've visited on 27/08/22 From where I was it did seem that the party in the function room was huge success. The DJ sounded really good and did seem to have them dancing all night to be fair. I did notice that he was playing some game which definitely had them laughing. Which I thought was pretty imaginative. The bar where I sat was spacious and clean. There was plenty of comfortable seating. Numerous TV screens which was showing the football. There was also nice seating outside. Which I can imagine was extremely popular with those heatwaves we have just had. Was well worth popping in as I was passing. Will certainly be paying this great little estate boozer. It certainly way way above the Shameless Jockey stereotype boozer. Will definitely be popping in again for a few when I'm next over that side of the city. Would recommend anyone to go and enjoy a lovely pint in a nice atmosphere and cracking boozer. Well done to the manageress. You're doing a cracking job and should be proud of the amazing staff you have. Wishing you the best.

Staff are very polite it's very friendly. We were at a party and there was small incident with a none invited guest. No problem manageress sorted it instantly. All in all would recommend for family party.

Lovely friendly pub lady serving was lovely and friendly.Nice place to sit outside which I did even look after the dogs by supplying water.Will be going again.

I've not been to the old sal in 18 years. But I can say I honestly enjoyed my return. Great place to be and fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff and happy friendly drinkers

Good pub, great hosts , fab back room

Very fast service, staff and clientèle are pleasant. Drinks are little expensive compared to what I usually pay in The Stage Door, but it's still good.

I’ve lived round the corner from The Old Sal all my life, I’ve seen landlords come and go but Jo and Mark are the best landlords I’ve seen in a long time. I have had the pleasure of working under their employment and I cannot praise the pub enough. The staff are so friendly and get to know you. The refurb is absolutely gorgeous, looks like a different and better pub. The beer prices aren’t that bad either. Team Old Sal 💗🍺

Great pub with great staff and the locals are extremely friendly karaoke on a Sunday with Ben is a great afternoon/night. Quiz night on Wednesday night is a great midweek break. Jo Baker the landlady is doing a great job and now they have had a refurbishment the drink deals and cocktails make it a very reasonably priced night out

This was a step back in time. I don't drink & the only non-alcoholic drinks they had were cola or lemonade, not even tonic. The locals were straight from League of Gentlemen. We saw a band, but the pub was virtually empty, they hadn't promoted the band whatsoever. Don't intend on revisiting.

This pub is on the way up. They have now started doing food. Just had a steak and ale pie with mash and veg and was very impressed, cooked fresh on the premises. The menu is basic at the moment but I'am sure will get bigger with time. The drinks are not expensive and they have a fine choice of beer and larger. They do live music from time to time.

Went for Sunday lunch. Not the best food i've tasted.

Booked for xmas dinner over 2 months ago £32.99 each there were 5 of us.Don,t really know where to start so here goes...Walked into a cold room no heating on didn`t get put on either,just a bare pub table odd knives and forks oh and looked dirty cheap crackers on the tables no xmas music like sitting in a morgue.Right the food terrible, the service terrible, attitude of the manager terrible.We were the first sitting we had to keep asking for table to be cleared away wouldn`t have given the main meal to my dog!!!!!! The veg was out the freezer i`m sure, the dessert we were told no xmas pudding and the cheesecake turned out to be sponge cake but chef kept saying no its cheesecake take it back. We spoke to the manager because it completely ruined our xmas day left feeling hungry ,disappointed, angry and ripped off she blamed the brewery and really couldn`t have cared less.So thanks alot we`ll never step foot in the place again !!!!!!

Used to be a good pub until it was taken over by new management. Sometimes there are rowdy customers who the staff refuse to throw out.
