wagamama in Stoke-on-Trent

Our server when taking the order advised us that food would be brought to the table when it was ready. I didn't think he meant one of our starters would arrive first, our other starter would arrive when we had finished our mains. Also, as a group of 4, 2 were served and had FINISHED eating before the other two had received their food. Just not good enough. I won't be back.

One of the better wagamama restaurants. I used to love their food, but it's gradually taking a turn downwards. The ramen still tastes good, apart from overcooked hard chicken breast, and I feel prices are steep for what you are actually getting.

I just want to say, when me and my have partner dined in at wagamama, the staff are always absolutely amazing, so kind and helpful. but unfortunately I ordered a deliveroo order today for the new hot pot, I was super excited as I've always wanted to try one escpically with rice cakes in aswell. when it came, it was so disappointing. barely any beef and only 2 rice cakes in the whole dish when for the price I thought it would be full of rice cakes. the taste isn't amazing either sadly, the liquid was very watery (im not sure if its supposed to be like this as I've never had a hotpot so I may be incorrect) and didn't have much flavour to it, just had alot of chilli's in, which made it spicy but no flavour. so disappointed as I love japanese/korean food and usually love this place but I feel like I've been robbed, especially with how expensive it is.

We had a lovely time at waamama's in stoke. Just myself and my daughter visited. The food was delicious. The service we received from server named Josh was absolutely excellent 💯 So very attentive, very helpful and friendly with a genuine interest in his customers. Fabulous customer service. Thank you

Lovely food,expensive but just the right quality

Came here for dinner tonight with my friend and we had a wonderful experience! The hot pots delightful, but the real treat was the service we received from both Kate and Flynn. They were so kind, helpful and went above and beyond to make the experience more than enjoyable! Pure bliss will be back x

First time here, the food was quality, really nice vegan options

Love a good wagamamas and this is one of the better ones. Sadly as time of writing, wagamamas menu has gone down in personal preference. The food is still tasty but some of my favourite items have gone and the replacements aren't as good. But overall the Asian hybrid of food is good and tasty.

Excellent food and service. I had chicken katsu curry the first time and that was nuce. Wok green vegetables are really crunchy snd contain lots of flavourings. The beef hot pot is very spicy however, it takes amazing. You often have to wait in a queue for be seated which can take approx 20 minutes. The toiles are outstanding !

Josh was the best thing about this place, He was a fantastic server. Food was delicious as always . We were seated quickly and our order taken fast. We did have to ask about 1 of our starters but we then received it super fast.

My son's favourite restaurant, like all Wagamama clean, open plan and busy.

Excellent stuff, normal upsell for extra drinks etc, food was on point but was neither exceptional or poor I would say "meh". Price point I will leave open as its Been a while sinc e I have been out, would I come back, dount it to be honest, had to put jacket on a stool and no toothpicks, 1st World issue I know

Had a deliveroo order last night....chicken matsu curry....chicken was overcooked and hard and not enough sauce. The wetherspoons katsu curry is amazing and half the price! Son tried the chicken gyoza ramen bowl, he didn't eat it! The broth had hardly any taste and what taste it did have was a bit wierd. There was no egg either. First and last time having food from here. Not good at all.

We came to eat, Dillon was our server and he was absolutely lovely, he was polite and accommodating when we wanted to make changes to our order, thank you so much!!

We’ve been here a couple of times. The food is good. The service is okay. Our most recent visit the area we were shown to sit had a wet floor sign next to it and some paper things under the table which I assume were to soak up whatever water was there but they were dry, so could have been moved. It felt a bit dirty like that. We waited a while to be served but the food was good and came not long after we ordered. I would go again I hope they read the feedback.

Shocking. Wagamamas fan for years here but today I got my food delivered and how disappointing. Food was cold, undercooked noodles and got my order wrong anyway. It made me throw my guts up after just eating 4 mouth fulls. Only thing I can say was good was the quick delivery service. Don’t bother with delivery just go into the restaurant as they care more about you in there.

First time eating here and to be honest I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food. Upon arrival the staff are very friendly and welcoming and we were shown to our table within a few mins it wasn't very busy but the atmosphere was great. After browsing the menu for a while I decided on a yaki soba with chicken all cooked fresh to order and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. I would definitely be coming back to try something different.

We were here celebrating my daughters birthday. We had excellent service from Jack, very professional. The food was all delicious, complements to the kitchen. Would highly recommend a visits here.

This restaurant is heartless and so are the staff what ever the weather is they make the drivers wait outside in the freezing cold and when you go inside to use the toilet they order you to wait outside before even giving you a chance. It is the only food place that makes the delivery drivers wait outside

Can never fault Waga's always yum!

Love Waga’s!!! Usually very busy as to be expected and there’s usually always a wait which makes it more difficult as the waiting area is small and also the entrance/exit so it can be a bit overwhelming. But always amazing service and food! Only other thing that annoys me is when people complain that they’re still waiting for meals for their tables when they get told at the start of their experience that the food comes out when it’s ready not all at the same time. Had one table next to us yesterday who did this and had faces on them the entire time whilst waiting for one last meal. I get it, it can be frustrating. But you literally get told as you get sat down. Other than that, love the place! :D

You have to go to understand how great the food is!

An amazing restaurant not far from the city center. The food is delicious and ranges from mild to spicy. As far as I know there are no table bookings, if it is busy you have to wait in line for a table but the longest we waited was 15 minutes. The main menu dishes come in big portions. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable as each stall has its own sink and hand dryer. The music is kind of loud though and people speak loudly over it so it is not the most calming experience but it's definitely nothing too tragic.

This is a great concept and experience which is evident as soon as you enter and until you leave. The serving staff are attentive and polite (which in my world is a basic requirement but which is not shared by all establishments that I visit), this (expereince) is part of the basis on which I decide to pay a tip or not. The choice of vegan food is not huge but there are a few dishes available and those that my wife and I had were delicious. The taste, texture and presentation were all fabulous and a testament to the thought and care that had gone into developing and subsequently constructing them. We shall be going again.

Great Japanese food but to expensive.

Staff and food great. Only coffee is a weak one in a cafetiere. That's the only negative. Lovely atmosphere.

We chose wagamama for a business lunch, we got there for just after 12pm. The restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of tables to sit at. We visited the one in Hanley, so loads of parking. I had the green sun soy and garlic sauce with a katsu chicken curry. Firstly, the portion sizes were immense. The katsu curry came with a huge rice ball and plenty of chicken underneath. The green were a mix of fine beans, tender stem broccoli and mangetout and they paired so well with the curry but so flavoursome on their own. Dylan was our server and he was amazing, so attentive, explained how the process works and was super friendly!

Food is a bit costly but worth the taste. The atmosphere is good, and the service is quick.

The food is great every single time, we love this restaurant. Waitress so sweet and smily. Busy Friday but the food kept coming and the environment was nice. Although it's more expensive than we would like, you get good portions and the taste is wonderful. The only criticism is about the floor being sticky next to our table. Tables were clean so no issue there. Update nov2023: the music is loud and horrible, makes you wanna leave. Pit Japanese music on!

Brilliant Wagamama. They seem to vary a lot in quality but this is a great one! Lovely atmosphere that feels like a proper restaurant as opposed to the "Dining Hall" vibe of some of them. Service was excellent and friendly and food arrived swiftly well presented and tasty. Drinks were also delicious which was a pleasant surprise.

I’ve always had pleasant experiences with going in to dine in. However, once I’ve decided to get it on deliveroo, the chicken in my katsu was so undercooked, I was crunchy, I’m just waiting to see if i’m gonna get food poisoning

Great, but the Chilli Squid was caked in Chilli Powder to the point you could't really eat it. Told the waitress and it was replaced. Equally the Edamame Beans were heaped/covered in salt. Ordered both dishes many times before from different Wagamamas but here there was an overload of flavour due to excess. Friendly staff and fast service however.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was that the Lucky Buddha beer now only comes in tins ... bring back the bottle 😉

Great food and atmosphere, plenty of dishes to choose from. Our server Tavi was super helpful and friendly and made sure we made the right choice in terms of spiciness.

Across the country, every wagamama has a problem. Either the chasu is overdone. Or the noodles are undercooked. Or too much dashi in the broth. Something is wrong with your ramen every time. Except here. For some reason, this wagamama in Stoke does what London, Bath, Manchester, and every other wagamama can't: Consistently give you a bowl of ramen that has nothing wrong with it. Suppose the only issue at a stretch is that the servers scrawl your table number so atrociously that it's nearly impossible to read when it's time to pay online.

Out of town - you have to drive here, but free parking and it is lovely.

My boyfriend’s food come so quick and mine come 20 min later ! By time he finished his food when mine come 😭🤣I don’t like this ! The food was nice

Gets 5 stars as one of the meals was very delayed but fully refunded. Loses a star for the initial frosty welcome “oh I’ll have to have a look if there’s a table available outside” when there was very clearly several and as we visited late on they were unlikely to be booked 🙄

I love this restaurant. Nice vegan food, a bit spicy, with several alternatives. A little suggestion: why don't add sushi in the menu? I am pretty sure the customers would appreciate it.

Had steak tepanyaki soba and chicken gyozas steak was rushed and smaller portions compared to other wagamamas I've been to and the noodles were unevenly cooked. The chicken gyozas were nice but looked like they had been bashed around a bit. Service was wonderful and staff members were very bright and polite. Went on a wensday at roughly 8:30 pm was full but only waited a cupple of mins for a table

It's wagamama it's always on point what stood out for this place is the food quality felt that of 20yrs ago but slightly smaller portions but for the love of all that is holy bring back Chicken tori karage PLEASE!

First visit. It was a lovely experience everything from the minute we arrived to when we left the staff and food was very good!? Definitely will be going back! :)

Not my first time at Wagamama but my first time at the Stoke branch. Service was amazing, our server Mitch was super friendly, attentive and quick with taking our orders and bringing food out. They even double-checked with my boyfriend about his spice tolerance. He’s actually quite sensitive to spicy things and neither of us realised the dish he’d chosen was on the hotter side so we really appreciated the heads up! He even made sure we got two spoons when we asked for one dessert to share. We ordered cocktails which were just okay. My sake spritz was flat — I’m not sure if the sparkling water came from a bottle or on draught but there were barely any bubbles at all. Was more of a sake still than a sake spritz. My partner had the pandan passion fruit colada which is served short but there was so much ice in it than he had about two sips and it was gone. At almost £9 a cocktail, save your money and go get bevs at Spoons instead! Thankfully the food was ace. We had pulled pork bao and salmon gyoza to start off and they were both super tasty. Gyoza were steamed to perfection and the bao buns were super pillowy. My beef brisket ramen was divine!! I usually get the chilli chicken or chilli steak ramen so this was a change for me and it was amazing, I’ll definitely be having it again. My partner also loved his chicken gyoza ramen. We finished off with the white chocolate and ginger cheesecake which was one of the nicest cheesecakes I’ve ever had! Super decadent, rich and gingery. Loved it! I’d definitely visit the Stoke branch again, but perhaps pass on the cocktails next time for a cheaper bill.

I was expecting more. I was excited to try out wagamama for the first time. Maybe just a bad day? Food was quick to come out and staff friendly. But the chilli squid was so unbelievablely spicy and bar the chilli, had no taste to it at all. Thank you to the waitress who removed this from the bill. The buddha bowls were really good value however. Drinks a tad overpriced but nice nonetheless.

came for my graduation meal! we were served by Mitch and he was absolutely flawless, really made my night shame that the no-duck donburi was removed from the menu but Mitch certainly made up for it with his service 😊😊😊

First time eating here so first impressions and all that... Restaurant was clean and greeting was swift and pleasant. Food came out quickly and was piping hot, we all chose Ramen and we were not disappointed! We had what could be described as a bucket of Ramen! The flavours were lovely and I can highly recommend! The service was OK, nothing special but no complaints. Pricing is a little steep but I would go again
