The New Inn Amesbury in Wiltshire

We were made very welcome by bar staff and the regulars. Good find. Good prices. Water bottles refilled for the dog on request and a fresh bowl of water was offered to him. Pie of the day with mash , plus vegetables was very nice, with enough gravy in the jug for the meal. Definitely hope to be back at some time.

Great Sunday Carvery Lunch, at a very reasonable price and friendly staff :) A good old fashioned town pub, dart board, beer garden.

The best carvery we’ve had by far and the desserts were amazing value for money. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in that part of the country again.

We booked our staff Christmas party 28/1/24 As we are in hospitality ourselves. The pub is normally shut on a Sunday evening but they opened it especially for us. We had the choice of turkey’ pork and beef . The pigs in blankets were full size sausages with a full size piece of bacon wrapped around. the meat was cooked perfectly! Good selection of veg as well. The cheese pull on the cauliflower cheese was amazing and the gravy reminded me of my nans she used to make from scratch. There was 19 of us and everyone really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was perfect. We left the new inn and went to the kings arms there sister pub where we carried on with festivities playing pool and having fun. We will definitely book again and I will also be making regular booking personally for the carvery on the Sundays. 10 out of 10.

Absolutely outstanding. We took friends for Sunday lunch and it was incredible. Absolutely everything is homemade and served on the hot plate in small batches. I had the vegetarian option (needs to be pre ordered) and it was amazing. I’m not joking when I say it’s the best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had.

Husband suggested popping out for a spot of lunch earlier in the day so coats on ready to go. I mentioned do you fancy a burger at the New Inn his face said it all so off we go. I had French burger hubby had Mexican burger both with beef and delicious served with chips. Roxy the chef even remembered my allergy and made sure I was happy now thats customer service, friendly bar staff. Thank you ladies we will be back.

Went with work for our Christmas Meal. Lovely table set up, staff were helpful and attentive. Pre booked meal from a festive menu which had an excellent choice. Each course came out stunningly presented, and we were not rushed at all. Was a shame I was stuffed for the dessert, I tried a mouthful but was just too full to continue. Excellent value for money can I say a big thanks to the team and chef. Will visit again.

A friendly pub but sadly my meal was inedible. I ordered lasagne and it took half an hour to arrive despite being pretty much the only people eating. When it arrived it had clearly just been assembled. I can’t deny it was freshly made but it was a few sheets of boiled lasagne drowned in a tasteless and watery white sauce and a blow torch had been waved over it to melt a few strands of cheddar! I think there was a bit of ragu in there somewhere but it was so overwhelmed with the white goo that I could barely decipher it. I settled for the perfectly adequate garlic bread for my lunch. Despite the friendly barmaid feeding back to the kitchen, no reparations were made so it ended up a £10.95 piece of garlic bread. Not great value!

Old institution in Amesbury, good food and great bargains if you add a drink to your meal. Quick service.

We visited as a family 5 adults 1 child and a baby. The staff were so accommodating with the children bringing out 'special' plates and for our 11 month baby some chopped up fresh fruit, when the older one saw it as if by magic another special plate magically appeared. Although it was quite busy Hannah and Louise never seemed fazed and were very attentive. They have a new chef who produced a wonderfully hot and tasty carvery she was also helping some customers who had a requirement nothing was too much trouble. Thank you ladies we all thoroughly enjoyed the occasion food and service was 5 🌟

Myself and two friends were cycling the King Alfred's Way which passes through Amesbury. We were looking for a place to stop for lunch, which the landlord could obviously tell as he came out and waved us down, opened the big side gates and guided into the beer garden! What a welcome. We had Fish Finger sandwhiches and chips, the fish was good quality and delicious. All in all I would totally recommend this place. The landlord also mentioned they will be opening a bike workshop at some point, which could prove really handy for anyone doing this route.

Son and I treated to a Father's Day Sunday Lunch by/with family and grand kids. Great food fantastically cooked. Excellent price and quality. Enhanced by friendly atmosphere and great hosting by Ash, Hannah and Louise. Afterwards sat in the relaxing open air stable/Court yard to finish off. Will undoubtedly return

This is a pub under new ownership that is re-writing its reputation. The pub itself has over 400 years of history and has recentley been refurbished and it looks fantastic! We were greated by Louise who, I have to say, gave us the most warm and heartfelt greeting I think we ever had. Nothing was too much trouble and we sat down to a new menu with a new chef! The food is home cooked and it shows, it was fantastic, but make sure you dont eat for the whole day before you come as the portions are epic! I am a real advocate of supporting local business's and you cannot get more local than this, as it is owned independently. So it is definatley worth supporting and enjoying yourself at the same time! Bravo to team NewInn and we wish you every success!

Amazing food will always go back as real nice pub and deffo not in a chain , staff are very friendly also allow pets in which is always good

My sister and I stopped into the New Inn for a drink and ended up staying for dinner since the owner and staff were so welcoming and friendly. Ashley offered to open the kitchen for us to share some English specialties and it was wonderful. Highly recommended!

I booked here for a small group of international visitors. The team at the pub couldn’t have been friendlier. They bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. The international visitors really has an experience of what a British country pub should be like.
