The New Inn in Torridge

Great little pub, friendly landlord who filled us in on all things local. Guinness by a big log fire with the dog, couldn’t have asked for more from this beautiful little village pub on a windy Saturday evening.

We went for the first time for a meal and we were made to feel as welcome as the Gas bill by the Landlady. I tried to make conversation whilst ordering a drink to no avail. Food was nice, welcome was atrocious

The new owners, Justine and Andy, have transformed this friendly village pub. They provide great meals at great prices as well as events such as music and quiz nights. We run a B&B nearby and lots of our guests have been there and provided good reports to back up our own experiences. Well done!

After a somewhat chequered history, the pub has been reinvigorated by the new landlord and landlady: Andy and Justine. We are local and regular users and the pub has been transformed back into a warm and welcoming country pub serving well kept ales and good pub grub. Highly recommended!

Myy sister and I were on holiday in Devon and agreed to meet our Nephew who is working close by and agreed to meet for lunch. We found The New Inn by searching online and were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome. It was a rainy day and the fire was lit. We all ordered a Sunday lunch which was lovely. The owners were very accommodating to our requests. The meal was very reasonably priced and affordable for families on a tight budget (approx £7 for a child's portion). Desserts were good too. My Nephew was so impressed he booked for the folling Sunday there and then.

Absolutely fantastic food , really great atmosphere but the honey toast is the very best thing about the meal !!

Typical village pub, nice pint of real ale, was told the Korean spicey chicken was good so ordered it with squid for starters, and fish and chips for main, starters were tasty and cooked to perfection, as for the fish and chips, they were the best I'd ever had, not a scrap left on the plate. Prices reasonable to, what was not to like.

Sweet old pub in super quiet location. Nutcha so polite and friendly. Husband cooks. This is not fast food, but delicious. Crab was on special, baguette or salad. Salad imaginative with fruits. Also home-made potato salad, very good. My husband had the burger, which he enjoyed, with excellent chips, which we all picked at. Interesting old photos, cosy old fireplace. A "proper" old-style pub, with modern cooking. All it lacks is a cat! The village now has good parking by the playing field, walk down from there to pub and admire the lovely church (open in day-time) and old cottages, some with pretty gardens.

Lovely village pub delicious and competitively priced for a Sunday roast. Food and service was fantastic and would highly recommend the pung ping (Thai dessert)

What a wonderful friendly place this is! We called in for dinner on day 3 of our week in Devon and were so impressed that we came back on days 4,5 & 6. Tim & Nutcha are the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome, as did the cheery locals in the bar and yhe lovely log fire. The food is delicious and there are some really interesting items (pung-plng anyone?-its Thai honey bread) and a tasty wholesome venison stew, all reasonably priced. One very well kept real ale and some unusual gins. Thank you Tim & Nutcha, we will be back!
