Lovely pub that is really hidden in the Devon countryside. The food was great and there are lots of gluten free options that aren't on the menu. Just ask the lovely Clare and she will point out what is available.

We often visit for one of Ricks delicious carverys! A visit wouldn't be complete without a slice of the most AMAZIN banoffee pie you have ever had made by Clare's mum!

Superb Sunday roast with a good selection of veg, followed by a yummy dessert. Rick Claire and all the staff are most welcoming with a very relaxed atmosphere.

Just had a fabulous meal with the family, the food came quickly, was piping hot and absolutely delicious. I can personally recommend the duck. The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Very reasonably priced too.

If you want a place with a nice little garden, with lovely views, in the middle of nowhere, this is for you! The menu is relatively basic bit, lots of it and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and th family has lived here for seven generations

Just had a great lunch for two for £50. It's a lovely location and on a warm summer evening the outside tables would be a perfect way to end a day.

We hadn't been to the Crealock Arms for about 2-3years, but we're glad to say the food, friendliness and service was as good as remembered. We popped in, early on a Wednesday evening about 2 weeks ago. We were greeted by a very polite and friendly barman and chose a table. We were very happy with our meal ( both chose the Steak and suet pie with chips and peas, very hearty!), beer ( real ale, local and guest) and price. Don't tell them, but cheaper than the pub food in the local coastal villages, Appledore / Westward Ho! Good, food, price, staff and a lovely country village setting. Many thanks.

Lovely couple of hours spent in the garden. Parasols for the sun, a gorgeous view, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Iris definitely approved 🤗

Stayed in the carpark overnight in our campervan nice and peaceful, used the pub for our evening meal the present wife had lamb and dumplings I myself had liver bacon and onions the portions were just right and tasted really nice. The staff was friendly and cheerful and very polite, I would happily recommend this pub also it was a bank holiday so a busy place.

We had our wedding meal here. Rick, Claire and all the staff were amazing and the food is worth a 5 star. It's a wonderful family atmosphere 🙂

What a marvelous find in September while on holiday, that we returned again in December. Sunday Carvery was excellent, the meat was cooked perfectly and all the vegetables were perfect. We returned again on Thursday evening for another exceptional evening meal and pudding. All the staff are so friendly, excellent service, and family run by an outstanding chef. Thank you.

Great place and fantastic location

Lovely local pub, welcoming for guests. Food was great and timely, service friendly. Would definitely go again. Low cielings around the bar area to be mindful of, space was slightly odd shaped with your backs to a lot of the venue, but really it was a lovely trip. Parking is also right outside.

Lovely carvery lunch, booked as a party of 9, two of us are vegetarian. Everyone enjoyed their lunch, clear plates all round. Nut roast option was nice, we were served separate vegetarian roast potatoes and veggie gravy too. The meat eaters were all very impressed with their meals. Good value for money, friendly, efficient service 😊

We went again yesterday and it remains amazing!! Great food - lots of choice, generous portions, reasonable prices; very knowledgeable about Gluten Free; friendly, welcoming staff. Definitely worth a visit - hoping to go there again very soon

Update_. Owner has replied, saying how disappointed they are with my review. I appreciate your disappointment, but as a paying customers to be served overcooked vegatables that are flavourless & soggy and dry meat, yet we paid and made no fuss, is a lot more disappointing. The point of my honest review is to highlight to other customers that if they are expecting fresh food that is cooked well and tastes good, they need to be prepared to be disappointed also. Booked this off the positive Google reviews, really disappointed. This is not fresh food it is out of the packet or freezer food. Unsure how this has such positive reviews detailing good food, don’t be fooled it is well below par.

Amazing, food was superb and the staff were wonderful, couldn't have felt more welcome or looked after. Beautiful views too, highly recommended, we will definitely back next time we are in the area.

Excellent food and staff really enjoyed our visit

We booked a birthday party for 30 people including children. The big enclosed beer garden was ideal for the children to play in on a lovely Summer evening. The food and service provided by Ricky and his team was amazing. They were on hand to answer any queries prior to the occasion. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Great food. Great service. Very affordable prices. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food and very friendly, definitely going again.

Visited for drinks with the intention of eating there the following night as we were staying close by. First impressions count and from outside the Pub looks a bit run down and unloved, nothing there to pretty it up, couldn't see any effort to do any landscaping, no flowers, shrubs or hanging baskets, just car park and a few tables plus beer garden. Inside was ok but a bit old fashioned. Very much a locals pub, when we were there it was the locals lads meeting place, which is great for them but didn't make us as a family feel very welcome. Not dog friendly, big sign on door 'No Dogs' which was a big disappointment and very unusual these days for a country pub. Consequently we only stayed for the one drink which was a shame as it would have been our local for the 2 weeks we stayed and we like to have a drink & eat out when on holiday.

Visited twice during our holiday to Devon and both times the food was fantastic and the service was first class! Proper home cooked hearty meals made with fresh ingredients. The staff were all super friendly and professional. Highly recommend a visit if you’re staying nearby. Thank you!

Amazing food and portions in a quiet and stunning area of Devon. Although it was small it more than makes up for in staff service and quality of food!

Our first visit here having recently moved to Devon. It was a fantastic experience with a great menu including a good vegan selection much appreciated by our visiting son. Food was all delicious with generous portions and the young man who looked after us was so friendly and helpful. Last but not least loads of parking with the most amazing view. See you all again soon

We are holidaying not far from this pub and have now been in 3 times. Every time the staff have been amazingly friendly and welcoming. They allowed us to order food just after end of serving which we were very grateful for. The food has been lovely, couldn't fault it. The view from the garden is wonderful. Thank you 😊

We had a lovely meal, I had the steak and ale pie and my wife had the fish pie. Staff very friendly. Only issue was that they don't allow dogs inside, although you can sit with them outside in the garden weather permitting.

Had a Sunday carvery with the family. The staff were friendly and helpful, outlet table was ready early, the food was very nice, the price was reasonable and the pub was in lovely countryside. Could you ask for more?

Great carvery Sunday & nice staff

Stayed overnight in our campervan. Good quality food which the very helpful staff delivered to our van! They were very busy that night but nothing was too much trouble. Lovely views across the valley. Very much recommended

A bit quiet but I wasn't complaining, nice friendly helpful staff and the food was really very good, couldn't fault it. Plenty of seating outside for the warmer times with ample parking.

Went for a Sunday carvery and had the nut roast. Nut roast was probably the best nut roast we've had at a pub as it was more like stuffing rather than it being a dry, overly 'nutty' taste and crunchy like you get most places. Gravy was very tasty for vegetarian gravy. Roasties and Yorkshire pudding were good and all the vegetables sides were amazing. Pudding (we had sticky toffee & brownie) were lovely, what we could fit in anyway, perhaps the vanilla ice-cream was a little mediocre but did notice they do Farmer Tom's ice cream so will definitely ask for that next time. Lovely place and chilled setting, definitely will be returning to try out their vegetarian options on their main menu. Service was great. Reckon it'll be our go to place for a Sunday carvery. Called for Sunday carvery, very old school style pub and reminds me of my Nans local. That familiar smell…..so not the poshest of places That said, all staff were very friendly and food was delicious, hubby enjoyed an authentic pint of beer and I had a glass of wine, 2 deserts and bill came to £30

A very nice evening with my family, staff were great, very welcoming and attentive, brilliant with our 4 year old.... Food was nice, one of them places that you wouldn't rave about as a must visit but definitely a place you'd go from time to time, you definitely get value for money, the portions are big and there's a great selection of proper pub grub

Phoned up on a Friday and managed to reserve a table for 7 (with a dog) we arrived a little early but was told it was not a problem. We where told which tables had been reserved and told how they are working with covid rules etc! We ordered drink and food and when all arrived it was amazing!!!! Could not fault it! My father inlaw had steak and was cooked to his perfect liking the rest of the group all enjoyed their meals too!! Desserts were great loves the farmer toms ice-cream! The staff where very welcoming and professional from the second we entered, the views are incredible and prices are fantastic for what you get!!!

We arrived 10 minutes before food stopped being served and we were accommodated with a friendly reception saying that it was no trouble. The pub is lovely with a beautiful beer garden overlooking the countryside and the food was delicious and very well priced! Definitely recommend and would come again ☺️

First time in the pub, found the staff very friendly and helpful, (because of the restrictions seating limited), but still busy, food was very good and didn't have to wait very long, if we come back to the area again we would definitely have another meal

This was a truly disappointing experience. The food was very below par. The food wasnt fresh and I am amazed how this place has a 4.7 star rating as the food was absolutely terrible I would not recommend
