This the best fish and chips in the area, absolutely outstanding.

The chips were completely uncooked, rock-hard, and impossible to eat. We ordered three portions, and every single one was equally awful—scraping our mouths and gums with each bite. It’s shocking that a place open for only 2 hours can serve food this bad. To make matters worse, the vibe was terrible—no good customer service, no greetings, no effort at all. It felt like they couldn’t care less. Absolutely inedible food and an awful experience overall. Avoid this place at all costs!

I can honestly say it was the best fish and chips I've ever had

On a family visit to North Devon (near Northam) and this was the nearest Fish and Chip shop we found. Cooked to order and we were not disappointed. Excellent food.

Clearly Not Happy to serve Non Residents. No Happy smile or Welcome to any of the customers this particular evening. I Ordered a Haddock (cooked to order) and x2 Large portions @ £3.35per portion, and got pithy measly one and a bit scoop, I even commented on the size as the young girl was preparing our order. The chips nor the fish were anything to write home about and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them, £7.00 and got less than 3scoops of chips in total, that’s pathetic for what I paid. Never would we consider using them again. They don’t deserve custom.

Local family fish and chips shop. Love this place. Great service. Traditional menu. Affordable compared to other F&C shops. Family meal deals options. They sell Fish, hallomoi fries, pies and more. Friendly staff. Love the cardboard packaging, dislike the polystyrene containers they also use. So take my own.

Fantastic fresh and crispy cod and chips, generous large portions at a great price better value than nearby shops in westward and appledore. Friendly staff too. Opening hours are short 5-7:30 4 days a week, so check before visiting

Tucked away off the main street in Northam, we nearly missed it but for a sign on the corner. Pleased we didn't. Cod, chips and peas were cooked fresh and delicious. Only 2 in when arrived, but obviously popular as at least 10 waiting when we left. Parking tricky as narrow street.

Absolutely wonderful food, if you can get past the rudest woman I've ever encountered at the till. The owners are lovely & my family & I really enjoyed the food but 3 times we have given the woman serving the benefit of the doubt, thinking that she may just be flustered & busy, however this weekend we realised that is not the reason because she was perfectly pleasant to the regular customer in front of us. Such a shame but she totally ruins this take away & hearing how she speaks to other customers, I doubt we'll be the only ones going elsewhere now. If you don't mind being spoken to like you're a huge inconvenience, then give it a go because you won't be disappointed with the food.

Fab fish and chips best i have had so far in Bideford have tried to go back but it has been shut, unusual opening days and times. The chips are spot on amd decent fish that was cooked to order.

First visit last night and got to say fish and chips so good, took me back to the fish and chips we had at the seaside years ago. Served in a cardboard box and really hot and will be returning thats for sure.

So were on a family holiday and we fancied a fish and chip shop..being 2 mins away from us very convenient. Lady who served me with the glasses has to be the rudest person I have ever come across..yet absolutely pally pally with the regulars! Worst customer service ever! Food wasn't the best..more grease than actual food! Felt like throwing the food over the counter at her! Not advised if your on holiday!

Recommended on Trip Advisor and not disappointed. Excellent fish 'n' chips as well as extensive menu to choose from. You have to wait but that's because they prepare everything freshly cooked to enjoy at it's best. You can order ahead for collection at a selected time if you wish. Will certainly visit again on a trip to Westward Ho!

A great chippy, sells lots of veggie options and the rarefied savaloy too! Everything is made fresh where possible, right in front of you. This means it's no McDonald's for speed, but that's not an issue in my opinion. Prices are great. Parking is a pain, best park by the costcutter store on the main road, but that's the only downside.

Quality of fish and chips is good and tastes good..... Service a little bit to be desired have been in the shop numerous times and I can't recall my order being ever correct. When they have lavar balls they are really nice but they more then often don't have them....... Large Chips in my opinion do not seem like a large Chips but small portions and not alot different to the normal size portions in this shop. A very mixed review..........

We always go to Northam Fish Bar. The chips are very well cooked and browned, and the fish is always cooked to your order. There is a choioce of several fish. Prices are reasonable. They make their own fish cakes and there is a wide choice of accompaniments. This is a very good fish shop run by two lovely and cheerful local women.
