Visited for Sunday lunch, party of six. Warm welcome and nice to chat to the manager and meet the chef. Food was excellent, lovely Sunday roast beef with all trimmings. Good portions and efficient service. Was very busy with drinkers for a Sunday lunchtime, the older generation in Norton Lindsey deffo like to hit it hard on the day of rest! Nice to see a community asset really buzzing. Would recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the New Inn, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel incredibly welcome, setting the tone for an exceptional evening. We began our meal with the wild mushrooms on toast and the black pudding stack—both of which were simply divine. The wild mushrooms were cooked to perfection, their earthy flavors beautifully complemented by the crisp, golden toast. The black pudding stack was a delightful combination of rich, savory flavors, presented with a touch of elegance that elevated the dish beyond your typical starter. For the main course, we chose the steak and the sea bass, and both were absolutely outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor—every bite was pure indulgence. The sea bass, on the other hand, was a masterpiece of delicate flavors, its crispy skin giving way to succulent, flaky fish that melted in the mouth. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients were evident in every dish, making this one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The New Inn has truly set the bar high with their delicious food and impeccable service. We will definitely be returning, and I can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for a top-notch meal in a warm and welcoming setting.

Had a great sunday lunch here. I was very impressed by the menu which has proper home-cooking items on it, including traditional puddings (which unfortunately I didn't have room for!). The quality of the food was excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is very calm and welcoming: it was very nice to see locals enjoying food and conversation together. In other words, it's a proper local. We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends.

We visited for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day. We all had a fantastic Sunday roast. The food was freshly cooked, large portions and loads of fresh vegetables. As an added bonus an extra jug of gravy and condiments were provided without us having to ask. The desserts were proper comfort food and again a large portion. A lovely community pub with proper pub food and welcoming and friendly staff.

It was really disappointing to learn that they don't have any vegan food options (the brie wellington was incorrectly marked as vegan). The owners also sounded unwilling to introduce vegan items to their menu, which is frankly baffling in the year 2024 - if you value ethical food and drink then I recommend avoiding this place until a new plant-based menu is brought in.

Brought friends here for their first visit, they were blown away but not only the food but the friendly welcome and atmosphere, the fact we could bring in dogs made it extra special … plenty of room for our 8st boy to relax without being in the way on anyone else… Now the reason for being there Lunch ….my advice is to not eat be fore you arrive, portions are a fabulous size and oh gosh so tasty … the mushroom & Brie wellington is to die for, mash potato was so creamy and it was lovely to have vegetables that are absolutely in season We have already talked about what we will all eat when we come back ( which will be as soon as we can )

Eaten here on a Friday and Sunday now and the food is good quality pub grub with excellent portions. Sunday lunch is well worth a visit (I’m told the lamb came from the field next to the pub). Believe the pub is owned by the community after it was closed by the brewery - what a credit to them it is. Nice friendly pub. Disappointed that the food menu did not live up to the representation given on their own website. Anticipating a lovely roast lamb dinner, only to be presented with a limited "specials" board. Settled for fish and chips, which was okay but no better than other locally available options. There is a need to either update their website, or change the menu to reflect what is advertised. Will be happy to try them again with good expectations

Lovely pub, clean and friendly. However Sunday lunch was not great. No children's menu just a scaled down adult meal - who gives young children red cabbage as the sole vegetable?? The only vegan option was a brie and mushroom wellington which my daughter and young grandson ordered. This would have been fine if there was any mention, anywhere, that it also contains NUTS and cranberries. Maybe check the ingredients first.

OK, this Corona virus issue is causing a lot of inconvenience but when your local has taken on the mantle to provide takeaway meals most days of the week and including Sunday lunch and will, we understand, deliver then WOW, we think we can survive some of the mindless queuing at supermarkets. So, you can probably take on board that we are happy with the service Joe and Danny are providing. We had Sunday lunch, believe it or not, this Sunday, and it was excellent. The roast beef was cooked to perfection with spuds and great vegetables with gravy on the side. and with the 'in house' red wine, went down a treat. Sunday lunch menu was limited, but broad enough to suit all tastes, being well presented and plate-filling.The party of 12 across the age spectrum were well catered for, with all covers served within a couple of minutes. Despite being a community pub, this place makes outsiders feel welcome too. Simple but pleasant interior, could have done with a bit more heating on the winter lunchtime when we called. Good choice of beers and ciders, all well tapped. Menu is somewhat restricted, quite reasonably so given the small size of the place (around 8 tables), but well thought out with something for all tastes. Food arrived without any undue delay, all our dishes were fresh and tasty. Generous portion of salad with the scampi and the fish, generous amount of fresh veg with the pies. Only criticism is absence of veg side dishes - not all mains come with veg or salad and it would have been nice for some of our group to have had the option of ordering a side. Prices reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Would return.

We loved the book libraries on the side of the wall outside, and the kids woodland area at the back. The only criticism we had was that a bit more could have been done with the food. The kids meals were fine, and mine was ok, but my husband had a battered halloumi burger with onion rings and chips, which came in a plain bun with no sauce, dressings or anything. It could have done with a bit of garnish or salad.

My husband, two children and I visited The New Inn yesterday for an early dinner. We've eaten there before and the food is always decent typical 'pub fayre'. However, our evening was spoilt by a table of very noisy children who were sat near to us. Their mums were sat at the other end of the pub swigging large gins and were not in the least bit interested in the fact that their children were being loud and disruptive to other diners. When we mentioned it to bar staff, the mothers were spoken to but only threw scornful looks towards my family:they did nothing to deal with their children who they clearly did not want near them!! The pub should have been more forceful and insisted that the parents controlled their children and had them sat with them, and the children should also have been spoken to. We were paying guests and we could hardly have a conversation! My husband agrees that we would hesitate going back there unless more is done to impress upon guests with children that this is a pub, not a creche!!

Local Desi Pub with really good mixed grills and a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely become a regular haunt
