Had a recommendation so we booked for 3.30pm Sunday lunch. Lovely hosts and made very welcome. Snug and cozy pub restaurant with a relaxing ambience. Lunch was delicious and choice of meat(s) is flexible, one, two or selection of three. Wasn’t keen on the separately ordered cauliflower cheese if I’m honest as it had a kind of floral aftertaste to the cheese sauce. Didn’t agree with my palette. One bit of feedback: not enough gravy!! Perhaps a small jug on the side, or even the option? As we were later in the afternoon, we missed out on the desserts of the day (in particularly the cheesecake!) as they’d all been sold, so that was disappointing not to have enough for later guests. Other than that, we’ll definitely be going again but perhaps earlier so we can hopefully have a special dessert of the day!

We visited as a family for sunday lunch today and could not have been happier with out decision. We shared a couple of starters, then all opted for the roast dinner. Chicken, lamb and beef were all beautiful, the veg was cooked perfectly (a simple thing so many other places fail to achieve). A side of Cauliflower Cheese added another element of great flavour. Sticky toffee pudding and a serving of White Chocolate and Raspberry cheesecake finished off an amazing meal. Everything tasted amazing, was well cooked/baked and presented beautifully. The pub itself was spotless. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. A real gem of a pub, serving home cooked meals in a great environment. This was our long overdue first visit but we WILL be back again soon.

We booked for a belated 1st anniversary meal (we have only been together twenty three and a half years)Every time we visit this restaurant the welcome from the team is warm with nothing to much trouble and the food is always fantastic. Today was no exception. Jenny had the chicken curry which she said was one of the best she had ever eaten and the rice definitely was the best she has ever had. Hi praise indeed as she is an excellent cook herself as my fat belly bares testament. She followed this with a raefiell cake which as always was super light and delicious. I was not allowed a taste so it must have been good. I had the Guinness beef goulash with potato Rosti delicious. We cannot wait to return for more excellent food. Thank you all at the New Inn.

Another fantastically delicious dinner! I had the chicken curry which was full of meat, the best rice I’ve eaten, in a beautiful curry sauce, served with poppadums and a mango chutney. Followed by cake - again delicious. They make the best cake ever! My husband had a guiness goulash served with rosti’s. I did taste his too - which didn’t fail to be anything other than delicious!Just love this place, from the moment you step inside, a warm and welcoming place to be! Already looking forward to our next visit!

Living quite locally in Rushden we decided to take a walk to The New Inn....... covid 19 was priority to all eateries and here was no different. We arrived and left all details before ordering drinks and reserving a table. The service was ok - we were 3rd in the queue ordering drinks which was a 7 minute wait - no big deal - the bar has a great supply of gins and beers so took me 6 minutes deciding which gin I wanted!! After being shown our table the service was good and the food even better! My partner ordered the sea bass and I had the Gorgonzola chicken both which were really tasty - everything was cooked beautifully! If you happen to be in the area I would recommend you call in - you won't be disappointed! I definitely will be returning - well done to everyone at The New Inn!

We took advantage of the last day of fine summer to book for lunch and eat a table outside. Although we didn't go inside beyond the bar, it was clear that distancing had been carefully planned. The tableware was recyclable single-use, the paper menu's same. With three courses, the service was impeccable. The food is home cooked with interesting combinations. (My starter was deep-fried black pudding.)It was a bonus to have "eat out to help out" 50% reduction - but we'll be going back anyway.

Fantastic village pub. Recently had a little refurb during lockdown and looks lovely in there now. Great service and fantastic home cooked food. Covid secure (hand gel on entry, asking for contact details for test n trace, staff wearing masks, using disposable gloves to clear away and wiping tables and chairs throughly).Highly recommend the gorgonzola chicken and pear main and also leaving room to squeeze in a homemade cake that the pastry chef has made!

Tried this restaurant after seeing reviews like "wow, wow, wow" Found the staff friendly and welcoming, food however, ok, but not too memorable. The real shocker was the bill. For £105 for 3 people, I would have expected a much better experience for this sort of price tag. Bog standard Pinot £19. No wine list available so you can't see the prices first. Nice enough people, nice building, but far too pricey for what you get. I'm afraid I won't be returning.

We just came back from a lovely Sunday lunch at this pub. Upon entering, there’s a hand sanitiser station, and we were asked to write our details on a notepad. We were quickly shown to our table, and the drinks order taken. The staff are constantly sanitising themselves and everything they touch. They wear masks and gloves when at your table, or when bringing your food/drinks. Cutlery and napkins are brought on a big plate, and left on your table for you to handle yourselves. We had the halloumi sticks, roast beef and the brownie. Every dish was delicious! Beautifully presented and very generous portions of beef! A nice crispy Yorkshire and seasoned veg. If I had any criticism, the roast potatoes weren’t quite crispy enough but this is entirely forgiven by the fact all the dishes are hand prepared and home cooked, no Aunt Bessie’s here! We left full and happy and will definitely be back. If you’re in the area and are able to support a local pub, you’ll not be disappointed.

Went for a family meal last night here last night following recommendation. It’s a gem of a place! The family that run the pub all get involved and it’s fabulous! The food is delicious- far over and above that you expect from pub food - the care, attention , presentation and quality is sublime. The portions are plentiful and amazingly they will adapt to suit allergens or tastes if possible. I can’t stand capers and my sea bass was listed as with caper sauce so I requested it be omitted. Not only did they leave it out but prepared a different one for me.The men had the big meat grill which was great- funnily enough they don’t serve a steak meal but they don’t need to.Desserts were to die for- I had sticky toffee pudding! Oh my word! Other desserts tried were the cappuccino cheesecake and lemon cheesecake. All were delicious!Thank you for your smiles and such gorgeous food. We will return

Attractive village pub on an awkward road junction, not far from Santa Pod. Only one real ale (Wherry) when we were there but well kept. The 3 piece set lunch was a bargain at under £20 p.p. My pork dumplings were crisp and coated in fried onion; my partners beetroot carpacchio was tasty. We both liked the curry of the day - chicken - with poppadums, mango chutney and rice. The dessert we had was a plum crumble , not overcooked to jamminess, and nicely sharp with a vanilla ice. Good service, surroundings and not too crowded. A thumbs up from us both!

Bland, boring, never sticky and never tasting like toffee so I stopped ordering it years ago. What an absolute treat to finally (after all these years!), find a chef who knows exactly what it should taste like......to die for! Proper homemade pudding, absolutely scrumptious.Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, veg and tasty gravy, lovely. There was loads to chose from off the menu but we went for the beef pasta ragu and the chicken in a gorgonzola sauce and new potatoes. The food was beautifully presented and tasted equally as good. We lack good quality pubs in our area, especially those that offer food. The New Inn has all the right ingredients, lovely location, garden and internal area. A good deal of investment has gone in. It is lacking though, there is no pub atmosphere, behind the bar the staff are sterile and non-engaging, it doesn't cost anything to smile! The food was also a let down, all 5 of us were completely underwhelmed for what was average food for above average prices. One of our party's food was smaller than the child portion his daughter had.We also suspect the cheese on the cheeseboard may not have been quite what was advertised, they were bland, rubbery and as a result very overpriced. Sorry, but I wanted to give this 5 stars, but I just can't, the food and atmosphere just let it down.

We bought 5 drinks 2 lagers and 3 small soft drinks cost about £20!!! This used to be a lovely place to sit on a Saturday afternoon, it had a play area for the kids, food was great! Now it’s an over priced, child unfriendly place. It is not marketing itself to the locals that loved going there. It is cashing in on the upper market Santa pod events.

At long last, a decent pub near Rushden! We’ve eaten here on a number of occasions, the menu isn’t vast (always a good sign - no microwaves here) but caters for all tastes and the food is superb and reasonably priced. Beautiful location with a nice garden but equally as lovely inside. In all, great place that offers good food at very reasonable prices. Can’t quite believe that someone reviewed the staff as poor - in my experiences they’ve always been attentive, polite and welcoming. We’ve noticed that it’s getting busier every week and there is a reason why, booking is advised.

Came down to the New inn because it’s the local one to us, nice Saturday evening and hoping for a bite. Drinks are okay, two gins and two pins for £16, which isn’t amazing but good considering it’s walking distance from us. Ordered some food, 4 meals £50, food is lovely - burgers good quality and fish well cooked and fresh, would highly recommend. However, the staff really ruined this experience. They’re clearly understaffed and the staff are rude as a result. Removed some lavender from the table as my daughter is really allergic, had four staff tell us that we shouldn’t have done it, should have asked permission etc etc. Their attitudes are appalling, and this put us off staying longer for more drinks after our meal. Such a shame, as this will put us off coming back again.

Family group of 17 went to the New Inn for a Sunday Christmas Lunch earlier in December. Unfortunately the food (minus the Turkey which was well seasoned and warm) was either cold (Roast Potatoes, vegetables), bland (Stuffing, Veg) or raw (Pigs in Blankets). I live a minute away from the New Inn and was delighted when I saw the work done on refurbishing it exteriorly and interiorally. Unfortunately the lunch did not match up,and was a big disappointment. First we had to queue at the bar to order, and the service was very slow.I had fish and chips, the fish looked reconstituted and the chips cheap frozen, no where near the standard I would have expected and certainly nowhere near the standard in surrounding pubs.My daughter had the Caesar salad. Her comment was it was the worst one she has ever had. It was accompanied by dry toast. I had asked for a soda water and lime. This was served in a big unshaped pint glass. My daughter had a coffee, and the bill came to just under £30.

Having visited The New Inn with my family some time ago, we were really impressed and felt assured that a future visit was definitely on the cards. However, upon my visit with friends this time around, it was immediately noticeable that it has changed hands. Little and undesirable selection of starter choices and limited availability on the mains. Weirdly tasting Vegetable soup for starter with stale bread, and butter that you couldn’t spread. Overcooked meat and what I think were ‘aunt Bessie’ roast potatoes, I don’t have these at home, I certainly don’t want them when I’m paying. Over charged on the receipt... we were the only table in there, so unsure how a mistake could happen, it’s not like they were rushed off their feet and menu has set prices for 2 courses. Dessert selection was nothing to be desired. Felt embarrassed to have recommended this place to my friends.

I had the chickpea and roasted beetroot burger, with avocado hummus. I left the bun and some chips but that is normal for me, next time I might just have the main and the dessert.. my family all had meat, one beef, one pork and two chicken, they all said it was delicious. .. The desserts were lovely my lemon and lavender gateaux was amazing! The staff were attentive and polite. Lovely garden to sit in but it was very hot so we sat inside. I would go back.

Visited for a breakfast treat as we did not want to cook. There was not a gluten free breakfast option so I decided to have a Ceser salad (without croutons) and paid extra for grilled chicken to be added. Other half had the breakfast and paid extra for extra slice of bacon and extra sausage. Both meals arrived in good time, we were the only customers in the pub at the time. There seemed to be a problem with the card machine and other people arriving were have difficulties paying. Next the bar tender said they were completely out of Guinness and one of the largers . I thought this was odd as it was England v Croatia today, why would you be out of beer? The tap in the ladies toilet was broken, stuck on and the general look of the place was tired and unloved. The staff seemed to be very stressed out and it seemed thence in atmosphere, a few staff members seemed to be arguing in a different language perhaps having a disagreement. The meals were OK but I felt overpriced and the service was strained as there seemed to be lots going wrong behind the scenes. Disappointed with this my first ever visit.

I ordered the cheese and ham sandwich which was fairly pricey at over £8 but had visions of lovely crusty ciabatta with thick ham on the bone and chunky cheddar. No! The bread was hard and stale , the ham was wafer thin processed slices and the cheese was dairylea rubber slices out the plastic!!! Horrified was an under statement, how can you charge over £8 for that? The burger was nearly as bad, husband couldn’t eat it. I spoke to a couple of regulars and they said the Sunday lunch was also pretty rubbish. Won’t be going back

As it was a lovely evening, we decided to go for a walk, and have a meal and a drink at The New Inn. (We rang to make sure the kitchen was open) I`ve always liked the pub, mainly because they do a good pint of Abbot. The interior has been changed slightly, and the smaller eating area has been redecorated and looks much brighter. What was a, if I remember correctly, serving counter in front of the kitchen, is now a small bar. They are still changing things and plan to extend the kitchen, so the menu will change to reflect this, consequently the menu is n`t as extensive as they would like. Nonetheless, my wife (gluten and dairy free) had grilled chicken , salad and chips, which she enjoyed. Myself and the boy had burger , chips, coleslaw, onion rings and enjoyed them thoroughly. We spoke to the landlord and told him how much we enjoyed our visit, which seemed to please him. So, we`ll certainly be back.

We drove past the New Inn the day before our visit, and thought that as we hadn't been for a while and had heard that it had been refurbished we would call in for a drink on bank holiday Monday. We were disapponited with the service...it was busy, but there was only one person serving( I think it was the landlord). This, we thought was unfortunate for him, maybe a member of staff had let him down. I have worked in the pub industry and it's hard work, so we were willing to make allowances. That is until my partner, feeling a little sorry for him, suggested that maybe he could do with some help, and the landlord's response was 'No, it's ok, if they are thirsty enough, they'll wait'. Needless to say we didn't bother to stay any longer. We live locally and we would have loved it to be our 'local pub' but I can't see that we'll ever be 'thirsty enough' in the near future!!

We arrived with our two guests and parked the car easily, and inside were greeted in a really friendly way. We ordered drinks and sat at our table, with each one of us then ordering something different. Without long waiting times, we were all very happy with our choices from the menu and can all attest to hot food with perfect meat, really well cooked potatoes, great vegetables and you could almost think it was home cooked. Obviously then had to eat inside and this was not a problem - we were quickly found a nice table to sit at. Fabulous food - the Brie and Beetroot Tart was delicious. Decor and atmosphere lovely. Will definitely be back ( even though we got caught in a hailstorm on the way back )

We had heard the pub had been spruced up and that there was a new kitchen menu so decided to give it a try.

We'd noticed that this pub had been spruced up and hoped for good things. Sadly we were disappointed. There were no menus on the tables and eventually we had to go and ask for these. When ordering drinks we were told they didn't do espresso, only Americanos. Bit odd given that an americano is espresso with added water! Soft drink selection was a bit limited- they didn't even have tomato juice.

Four of us booked Sunday Dinner and what a delight it was. A warm welcome from the Landlord and staff. Excellent pint of Abbot ale.The pub was very popular and although very busy we soon shown our table. The choice of starter was a delight and four hungry people had a most enjoyable three course Sunday Roast dinner. Everything was freshly cooked. 10/10 a go to place for Sunday dinner.

Really nice Sunday lunch.Good size portions which were cooked well with a variety of choices for starter main and dessert.Service was good and the pub was friendly and welcoming. Not quite as competitive as some other local establishments but definitely worth the extra.

The New Inn is a pub situated in the heart of Wymington and use to be one of 2 pubs in this pretty little village. With a decent sized car park to the rear and a large garden The New Inn is a pub with bags of potential. We have visited here on at least 6 occasions previously and have eaten here twice, the food being of an average offering however the prices are very reasonable.Service has always been good whenever we have visited.Their menu serves up mains, light bites,a menu for children as well as sandwiches and baguettes.A decent typical village pub.Visited 2016 June.

I first frequented The New Inn over 10 years ago and have been back several times since. The New Inn offers a decent menu at affordable prices. There is a decent sized car park at the rear as well as a large garden too.It is a typical village pub and use to be one of two pubs in Wymington until a few years ago.A real old traditional pub that is a little rough around the edges but full of character.Visited June 2016

Was recommended this pub by a friend. Really looking forward to a pub lunch on a Sunday afternoon.. Completely disgraced and disappointed on arriving. Utterly disgraced by the TLC on the sofa chairs by the window ( where we sat).. sofa covers ripped seeing yellow polyestiring in seats fraying.. 😕 Friend was told pub was not doing food?? Any reason for a Sunday afternoon, could chefs be having a day off.. Very very disappointed we both were, summing up a few gents in the restaurant area having beers. Bar lady serving drinks watched me and my friend exit the pub seemingly un-concerned… Glad I’m not a local definitely will not be returning.

Last two times I’ve been in it’s taken 2/3 members of staff to serve just one customer. I’ve walked out twice after staff have just walked out from the counter with seemingly no reason other than to just wander around and both times they’ve only offered to serve me as I’ve been already turned to walk out which is after 5 to 10 minutes of waiting. One member of staff was more interested in eating her breakfast than doing her job this morning.

The cheese and tuna panini was good but the chicken tikka masala one was awful, more like a ketchup sauce, very sharpe, not nice atall.

Always great at The Burrow at the Blues, especially where there is a game on or live rugby on TV. Always a good friendly atmosphere. Food is great too.
